Production Details and Filming Locations
The production of "Victorious" involved various interesting details, including filming locations and casting choices. For example, there was speculation about a sequel being shot outside the US, possibly in Canada [1:6]. The original show had notable contributors such as Jake Farrow, who was both a producer and writer, known for crafting engaging episodes
[1:1]. Additionally, Jamie Snow, who worked on casting for the original series, was mentioned in connection with new projects
[1:2].
Cast Dynamics and Relationships
The dynamics among the cast members were intriguing, with some relationships extending beyond the show. Ellington Ratliff, who appeared in the pilot episode, later became part of the band R5 with Ross Lynch and was romantically linked to Ross's sister [3:2]. The cast's interactions during production days, like Victoria Justice's 16th birthday, added personal touches to the behind-the-scenes environment
[4:1].
Character Development and Actor Contributions
Actors brought unique talents to their roles, contributing to memorable moments on the show. Elizabeth Gillies, who played Jade, showcased her ability to imitate male voices, which was highlighted in several videos and episodes [5:1]. Her performance in Jade's short film during the episode "Helen is Back" elicited laughter from viewers and demonstrated her versatility
[5:5].
Pilot Episode Insights
The pilot episode featured characters and scenes that set the tone for the series. Some characters introduced in the pilot, like Trina's friend, did not appear again, a common occurrence in TV pilots [3:11]. This episode also included fun facts, such as Ian, who was supposed to work with Tori on a school project before she transferred to Hollywood Arts
[3:1].
Hair and Styling Choices
Styling choices for the cast were significant, particularly regarding hair color changes for certain roles. Ariana Grande's transition to bright red hair for her character was a notable transformation from her natural curly hair [4:5]. These styling decisions contributed to the visual identity of the characters and the overall aesthetic of the show.
These insights provide a glimpse into the creative process and personal stories behind "Victorious," highlighting the collaborative efforts and individual contributions that made the show successful.
Looks like they might be shooting in Canada and in the summer. Also, they have female writers and Jamie Snow is a casting director in this show as well, she also had appearances on the original show including her role as Tara on Freak the Freakout.
did they already pick the people for the roles?
i’m not sure tbh i just know some quebec girls got casted
how do u know who got casted?
The full version of this post likely has a submission deadline which would tell us when the auditions would be happening.
I meant like finalized the roles..I also auditioned!!
I wonder how they’re gonna recreate the outdoor area seeing as how Nickelodeon on sunset isn’t there anymore.
It says filming might be outside the US.
Jake Farrow is Producer and writer, that's interesting, he wrote a lot of good episode from Victorious.
And he voiced Rex
He’s a legend; previous work was great, so this should be good too 🙏
He also worked on Danger Force Game Shakers & Henry Danger... and those shows are trash LMFAO
I'm currently listening to Accidentally on Purpose, which is read by Kristen herself. She didn't spill too much being the scenes stuff about her competition season (and I haven't gotten to her being asked to host yet). But it was interesting to learn how she got involved (her boss, Chef Barbara Lynch, recommended her and Stephanie to production and encouraged them to go audition). I was surprised to learn that they filmed the first episode -- where the potential contestants cool in the different judges restaurants -- a few months before the season started. Kristen went home to Boston and back to work for a couple of months after winning her spot and before going to Seattle for episode 2 and couldn't say anything to anyone but Steph and Barbara -- not even her family!
Again, not too many specifics (e.g., she barely touched on what happened that led to her elimination). But she did talk about how she became close friends with Padma and Gail.
Right now, I'm in the chapter where she's telling about being on Fast Foodies with Jeremy Ford and Justin Sutherland. Sounds like, while at times is was fun, it became an uncomfortable sausage fest that she didn't enjoy as much as she portrayed on screen.
Looking forward to learning more about her return to TC as I get near the end of the book!
I highly recommend this for all TC fans and Kristen stans. I especially recommend listening to the audio version, because it's even better listening to it in her own voice (and getting choked up whenever she does).
The thing that really took me by surprise were Steph's accolades - if I remember correctly, Steph was really only portrayed as a private chef on her season(s). But Kristen really took the time to spotlight Steph's experience and talent in this book (without overdoing it) to the point where it left me mad at Top Chef for not putting more respect on her
It sounded like, from Kristen's perspective at least, that Steph had just as much experience as Kristen.
I don't think I've ever been as thrilled by a "redemption" as I was for Steph on TC 17.
I finished the book this weekend and can't recommend it enough. I'm the hold the book in my hands, turn the page kind of reader but I still heard Kristen saying every word. And now that I found out from a kind Redditor in another post that I can do the audio book for free with my Spotify premium account, I think I'll start it over and hear Kristen say every word.
She just oozes easy coolness, even when she's being emotional. She's like the girl I always wished I could be - I love her so much lol
I just put in a hold on Libby. 17 week wait! I guess there are lots of us Kristen stans! ❤️
Kristen is a freaking dream. Her vulnerability and honesty was unparalleled. I kept saying, “ seriously every other celebrity would edit this out and re-record!” But she’s not afraid and it’s so beautiful. She’s an inspiration.
I love that the editors even kept the sniffles in!
It's not surprising to me that she didn't go into details because it could have come off as her being bitter or rehashing old drama to some people. Not me, and I'm pretty positive everyone here would be on her side, but I see why she didn't go into detail.
Not surprised that Justin Sutherland wasn't pleasant to be around either.
She's even more of a "take the high road" person than I'd imagined!
When she said "Bite my tongue." in the episode, she meant that in her soul!
What’s the tea?
Fun Fact: The guy who worked with Tori in the science project was played by Ellington Ratliff, who years later was a member of R5, the band Ross Lynch had with his siblings, and, if I remember correctly, Ratliff was in a relationship with Ross' sister, Rydel.
Who is that girl and boy in the bottom front row supposed to be in the show?
trina’s friend that she ran off with when tori walked into hollywood arts. probably just an extra cus trina didn’t have many friends lol
The boy is Ian, the guy that Tori was supposed to finish her school project for school with (but Trina pushed him out the door of course) when she still was at Sherwood before she transferred schools to Hollywood Arts.
That was Trina's friend?
Yeah, she was the girl that interrupted her and Tori’s conversation about Hollywood Arts being “just a high school” and Tori being “normal”, and told Trina that a guy got his hair straightened and then they both fangirled over it and left Tori alone to navigate the school by herself
We never saw Trina’s friend or that guy ever again huh
Well it makes sense that we never saw that guy since he went to Tori's old school.
That was the most weird part. Anybody being friends with Trina haha
In most tv shows, they always show pilots with characters you never see again
I honestly forgot about those two people.
Wow beck and Jade look a little different than I remember
This has to be from before they shot the pilot, Liz and Ari look just like they did in 13 and Leon’s hairstyle is different too
Yeah, and Victoria's hair looks similar to her hair from the pilot.
This was the first day of production. Lane posted some BTS clips from that day. It also fell on Victoria’s 16th birthday
Aww Victoria was still Lola Martínez.
Or Shelby marx
Ari's hair omg!
That hair now is so 😭😭
her natural hair is curly like in the picture
that's her natural hair in the picture, before they made her bleach it and dye it bright red for the show and it got damaged
all i can think about when i see ari's hair is how much it probably sucked to get it bright red
They look super young omg
In the episode Helen is Back and Everyone had to re-audition for Hollywood Arts and Jade’s short film came up. When I say I was laughing so hard at everyone’s reactions especially Sikowitz🤣 it be popping up in my head and I just burst out laughing every time.
Jade is the best
It was super funny i laugh every time
I honestly love this part so much lol i feel like Jade/Elizabeth would actually be so good in a horror movie
watch animal, that was her only horror film
Wasn’t she the final girl?
She was the villain in a Lifetime thriller called “Killing Daddy”.
I liked that movie. It's currently available on YouTube.
I love how the deep voice in her video was actually her
WAIT that wasn’t edited? If not I’m dead LMAOO
I Googled it like a million times to be sure 😅
From Victorious Wiki "Jade showed her ability to imitate a guy's voice very well. In several videos on YouTube and TheSlap, Elizabeth Gillies is shown imitating a guy's voice and even said herself that she loves imitating guy's voices."
POP GOES THE WEASEL!!!
I HATE YOU!!!
I LOVE YOU!!!
PUPPERS!
I can't help it, I always zero in on cute animals. That's why I'd probably be a terrible interviewer: I'd never have any questions about what the star is there to promote, I'd just keep asking them about their pets (and then obnoxiously show pictures of my cats.)
I can’t help but think about cynthia’s prosthetic ears now after having watched some of the bts footage. Also I love the sparring outfit sm.
Sparring outfit is my favorite! I wanted more than a few seconds of that!!!
Im just here to say I fall more and more in love with Elphaba everyday❤️
She’s what made me fall in love with the movie in the first place, she’s just so mesmerizing whenever she’s on screen 😩
Me too
the green phone case hahaa
I had to go back and check lol 😂
„No spoilers“
Wild Kristin Chenoweth appears…
Congrats on the special! Where can we watch?
Should be on YouTube! Gotta get to work editing! In the next year I’ll release it :)
Please do sir, I love your style of comedy! When are you coming to L.A.? I’d love to catch a show and maybe get a custom T shirt
Wait who's gonna die?? What's with the happy flashback
please hes so cute WAIT IS THAT MORE INCEST?
Joel’s reaction is so real cause wtf they doing 😂
Targaryen realness
Yay more incest /sarc
Joel’s reaction 🤣🤣🤣
Filming, attending awards, hanging out or interviewing, every single photo shows what a close and happy cast and crew they were.
I will never understand why I haven't seen more of the cast in big movies and tv show roles there was so many phenomenal performances from many of the cast.
SO BRILLIANT!! Miss them and the show SO MUCH! Have every DVD and Blu Ray released, and collected promo stuff all over my house and office. It helps, but doesn't stop me missing all of them and the show😥💯😎😎🤘🤘
Holy Moses me too. Still looking... What's your best piece😏🤔🤔😊
I have three favorites actually. I don't even drink, but was able to snag a decanter set off of eBay, and empty rum bottle in a wooden BS box, and a subway poster. If course I have all the press kits and all Blu Rays released too. Pardon the dust and the glare. I just snapped these really quickly. How about you? What's your best piece?
I love that they all seem to really like each other
I love that we’ve started posting this stuff recently.
It had never occurred to me before now just how grim the characters really were. Smiles, especially non-malevolent ones, were quite rare.
Silver perhaps being an exception.
The funny thing is Silver's was never really a genuine smile, just cunning.
Behind the scenes (Season 2 Part Two) This only seems to be available on the website version of MGM+ Can't seem to locate any BTS of 'From' on the actual app. Weird!
The thing that bothers me about Victor is that he has been there for a LONG TIME, he knows EVERYTHING about this place, and yet he can't manage to string together a single coherent sentence about it. Every single time he offers information, it's in his unique and often useless way of speaking. It honestly does not make any sense to me why they have made his character simultaneously seem like the only person who knows anything about where they're at and the stupidest person in town. and I am really sick of people giving him a pass and saying, "he acts like a kid," it's just such a stupid excuse.
Well Victor thought it was all a dream until episode 4 of season 1.
The realization that it was all real retraumatized him and as someone with trauma and ptsd after the traumatic event( or in his remembering it) I was left with a lot of brain fog, difficulty focusing and communicating. It was as if my Intelligence lowered as a whole in a very noticeable way to the point my own mother was pointing out that it seemed I became dumber and more confused. It was a profound effect that lasted a few weeks.
So it makes sense he’s struggling mentally. You can notice the immediate change in his coherency from episode 4 to the following. He was made much more sense before that
how has Victor measured the entire map /central area of Fromville down to inches/ feet so much so that he can tell when it moves, but yet is confused that From is moving/shifting when he's taking measurements BECAUSE it moves in the first place?! Why is he measuring? What does he know, and does the space shifting inform the time frame/location of where the exit is? maybe I missed something but of all things Victor does, this is the most intriguing to me.
❤️
Eta: Scott McCord 🏆, so fantastic
Is it just me who wonders if the town IS his town and he’s from there?
If you haven't been paying attention to every piece of dialogue, than yes.
Victor knows that people who go looking for answers don’t come back, yet he guides Tabitha to the lighthouse and now she won’t be coming back. This will probably make Victor regress even further. It is a long time before Season 3.
