TL;DR
Flight Deal Apps
Several apps and websites are consistently recommended for finding flight deals. Scott's Cheap Flights is mentioned as a great resource for flight deals and mistake fares [1:1]. Skyscanner and Google Flights are popular tools for comparing flight prices and finding the cheapest options available
[2:1]
[3:1]. Additionally, Secretflying.com is praised for its ability to find last-minute flight deals and mistake fares
[4:2].
Hotel Booking Apps
Agoda is frequently recommended for hotel bookings due to its regular discounts and cashback offers [2:1]
[2:2]. Users have noted that Agoda often provides cheaper rates compared to other booking platforms. It's also suggested to compare prices across different apps like Booking.com and Airbnb for international trips
[2:2].
General Travel Deal Platforms
Travelzoo is highlighted as a reliable source for travel deals, including package deals and accommodations [1:4]. Usecheep.com is another platform mentioned for finding flexible travel deals based on dates and destinations
[1:3]. The Hopper app is recommended for tracking airfare prices and receiving notifications when prices drop
[4:4].
Flexible Travel Options
For travelers without specific destinations in mind, apps like Skiplagged can help find cheap flights to various locations [4:5]. Thrifty Traveler is suggested for following last-minute flight deals and mistake fares
[4:1]. These platforms cater to travelers who are flexible with their travel plans and are looking for the best possible deals.
Additional Recommendations
Signing up for newsletters from travel agencies or using services like Travelletters.com can keep you updated on special deals [1:2]. Additionally, applying for travel rewards credit cards with promotional offers can provide significant savings on travel expenses
[4:1].
Hello all,
I used to see individual resorts or flights have advertisements of special one-time deals. What are the websites your go to find really good travel deals?
Sign up to the newsletters of different travel agencies. If you are too lazy just use Travelletters.com.
I'm biased being the developer of usecheep.com The trick is being flexible on dates and places to score a great travel deal.
usecheep.com
this. dates are everything. it can be 1000 a night versus 200.
For some reason it wont let me set my desired airport?
Hey! This site is pretty cool! Maybe there are some collab ops we can do. DM me!
I've found great deals with www.travelzoo.com over the years. I subscribe to their mailing list and get notified of sweet deals often.
You don't.
Go read on r/travel about everyone who found a "deal" and how it worked out for them.
Book direct. Always. Being cheap is not a travel hack.
Scott’s Cheap Flights for flight deals and mistake fares, which apparently still happen once in a while.
Hi!, I'm 24 and naisipan ko mag start ng travelling.
May apps/site ba kayong alam na proven na for their service tulad ng pag-book ng domestic flights or pwede pag stay in na mga hotels?
Then paano makaka-discounts?.
mismong website lang din po ni cebpac, airasia, pal etc. Minsan may less ang third party apps like agoda, booking, com & etc pero hassle kase once may changes sa flights mo better direct sa website
seatsale happens like ng mga laz sale na 6.6 or annive sale pero depends paren also if you want to compare flights check google flights or skyscanner then direct book sa website.
For hotel booking i normally, compare sa mga apps like agoda, booking and other apps pero madalas cheapest is agoda. If intl trips madalas airbnb app
++++check reviews for the accomodation of your choice
Noted!, thaaaaanks 🫶🏻
For flights, better book sa airline website. For hotel bookings, I usually prefer Agoda. For activities or entrance fees, I go to Klook if may available. :)
Try Trabber.com and kayak. Generally, you will get excellent results.
i always go for agoda unless cheaper sa website ng hotels. lagi din may discounts si agoda and you will earn parang cashback which you can use for your next hotel bookings. so malelessen yung total cost ng booking mo. sanay nako sa agoda so i don't use other apps. i use Klook naman when booking activities, tours, transpo. for flights naman i use google flights and skyscanner to check and compare prices but i still buy plane tickets directly sa website or app ng airline. also, credit cards and travel orgs usually have travel sales so take advantage of them.
Thaaaankksss ! 🫶🏻
Currently, I use Google Flights to search for the best deals (since I choose to go to wherever has the cheapest flights) and then, after I've found the best price, I'll use Skyscanner to find a price that's even cheaper. About 10% of the time, I find a cheaper flight via Skyscanner.
Hi! Partner and I really like the idea of traveling pretty much everywhere. Is there an app that you can download that will just tell you the cheapest flights to...anywhere? We don't have destinations in mind, would just like to open an app that says "If you fly to X tomorrow, it would only be $200". Is there such a thing? Alternatively, is there an app where we could pick a place and watch the airfare so we can buy tickets when they're at a good price? I've only been on an airplane twice in my life, we usually drive everywhere, and I didn't buy the tickets when I did go, so I'm sorry if I'm asking stupid questions lol
Secretflying.com, it’s a gem
Try Google flights, Skyscanner
You're amazing! Thank you!
Hopper app.
Skiplagged
Follow thrifty traveler on Facebook. They post last minute flight deals and mistake fares. They have a premium service you can pay for for a year but you can also get some of the good deals for free.
Also look into applying for a travel rewards card, if you want to earn rewards for what you spend. Look for something with a good promotional offer. For instance, I just got the chase sapphire preferred card because they are offering 50k bonus miles for spending so much in the first 3 months. The key to reach the spending requirements is by putting only what you would spend anyways in a month on the card. For example I pay my rent with my card and then pay the card off at the same time so you’re always carrying a 0 balance but earning freebies just for using it. Hope that helps!
Google flights is where i find lots of good deals too. Or if you’re looking to take a trip but it may be cheaper to get there from a different city you could consider hopping flights that way to get the best deal. I find that a little overwhelming and confusing but i know some ppl that do it :)
I want to find deals and discounts for hotels and flights.

This is a list of over 50 travel apps and website resources. I tried to create a list that included a wide range of apps. My goal is to have created a list where most people have not heard of at least 20% of the programs listed below.
There are a couple categories of apps that I am not including
These are good travel apps to have, but there are 100+ of these apps and they really vary by region. Saying that, I have included a couple niche apps which fall in some of these categories.
Many of these apps can be in multiple categories so I just picked one. I have not used 100% of the apps here. Some of the apps I have included (A) for app and (W) for website. If it does not have a letter it is due to it having both or me being too lazy to add it. I personally have not used ever single app that I have listed.

There are giant companies apps here and little side projects listed. There are hundreds of travel apps out there.
Great list! I love using Wanderlog - I'm a spreadsheet person while my travel friend likes finding stuff to do off TikTok so we use Wanderlog as a middle ground to share ideas of things we want to do and figure out an itinerary haha
Timeshifter is an app I have but in reality, I very rarely end up following the suggestions.
Hi Pierre! I have a few questions about your usage of Wanderlog. I am a budding travel agent and I am quite interested in downloading the app to create itineraries for the people whose trips I am planning. Do you think the free version is sufficient? Is the paid version worth it? What do you think about wanderlog's interface / features in relation to google drive? For example the potential to transfer editing abilities, sharing documents with other users, making comments on itineraries, etc. etc. Let me know!
Did you find something that works? I’m a travel buddy/concierge too, would love a simple tool to share plans
I don't have the paid version so I cannot comment on that and I've never linked anything to Google Drive. I use it in the most simplistic way possible in that I'll add everyone going on our trip and we use it as a brainstorming space and then we get together in person and go through the list we've created to figure out what stays in the itinerary.
My wife is a huge fan of Wanderlog. I do the churning/booking stuff, and she's the one who finds places to eat and things to do. I find Wanderlog to be a great way of sharing ideas between multiple people.
Cosign wanderlog, I use the free version and I use it to keep track of every single trip I go on
Have you tried TripIt? Which one is better?
I've been traveling so long and never knew I needed one of these trip planning apps. We've been starring places on Google Maps and dumping everything into a spreadsheet which works but TripIt/Wanderlog looks like a better and more friendly intuitive UI. Thanks for sharing!
Obligatory: This is not award travel related thumbs down jk.
100% not award travel. Since I wrote more in the award tool guide, I wanted to make it slightly shorter so I removed some of these from there. I tried posting it on two other subs to link and their automod ate it. I asked the mods if I could post it and they said yes.
I use TripIt to organize data/reservations/events/flights/rentals. I use stars on Google maps for things I might be interested in doing. I also don’t really plan out my days when traveling normally so I like to sometimes see where I am and if there is anything I researched beforehand nearby.
I guess I do both, I use the deals page as a starting point for ideas of great points redemptions. But also created an account to search and book with Gondola because it maximizes points earning and saves me time.
This is a great list! Only one I'd add here is Gondola AI. They are a metasearch across all hotel chains, so you can book directly with hotels. They also track your hotel reservations for you and let you know if the price dropped so you can save.
Great list, one that is indispensable for folks like me is FindMe Gluten Free
I want to travel, but like most people I don’t have an excess of money to use on plane tickets. Is there a certain website or app that has normally cheaper prices than other sites? or is there a secret hack that lowers ticket prices :)?
Look at Google, direct site, Skyscanner, and Expedia.
You need to look on Tuesday/Wednesday
Be flexible.
Pick more stops.
Icognito.
I think the looking on a Tuesday/incognito thing was debunked BUT it is generally cheaper for the flight to be on a weekday rather than a weekend
Depends on what route. If you’re flying a super business skewed route (NY to Cincinnati), the weekdays are much more pricy
Incognito has zero effect
Doesn't hurt using it in my experience.
Hopper app.
I just started using this. I like that it lets me know when prices change.
Google Flights!
Join Scott's Cheap Flights. They send emails about cheap or mistake flights for international flights. There's a free version where they send 1/3 of the deals they find and for $40 a year, I think, you get all notifications. I'm going to Oslo in a few weeks for $313 round trip. That was cheaper than a flight to Los Angels. (From NYC).
Yep! I have this and they have some great deals. You just have to be prepared to buy tickets somewhat quickly when you see the deal
Don’t use an iPhone. Delete cookies. Use different devices. Never search twice from the same device. Flexible schedule. Use vpn and make location outside the United States.
We are recently retired, and now have much more flexibility to take advantage of last minute airline tickets and hotel stays. Anyone have recommendations that have proven successful for you?
Secret flying. They have an app and website. Choose your airport and go from there.
Edit: this is mostly flights only.
Tripmasters. Let’s you customize your vacation and has very reasonable prices. I’ve booked my trips to Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Budapest with them. Very easy to use.
It would help if you said where you've retired to as obviously there are region and location specific sites/services. For e.g. I have had a lot of success with https://jacksflightclub.com/
This is a nice site if you're flexible. Timeshare owners renting out their properties 45 days or less into the future. Maximum rental rate is $800/week or $115/day. Often less.
You'll need to register to respond to listings, but there's no fee to do so.

My professor at school has used travelzoo at length and tells us abt his trips. Can’t speak for it personally. Others will suggest Skyscanner.
I use a couple. Airbnb for longer stays and i book flights on letsfly.co.uk to get cheap flights and hotels.
I agree on LetsFly, I've found some crazy bargains on there recently.
I also like Kayak but they mostly seem to have the same deals as Google flight search.
I wouldn’t use third party for any of them unless I’m getting something for free (or highly discounted). Usually you can find the hotels on something like booking.com but then go to the hotel’s website directly and book there (almost always the same price or cheaper).
I use Expedia but only because I get 20% off everything
But are you loosing out on hotel loyalty points in the meantime? I’d have to weigh the pros/cons on that one!
The only one of those three I use is Booking and only for hotels. I don't find a great deal of need for what these search engines offer, at all.
Yeah makes sense. Sometimes simpler is better and booking usually gets the job done for hotels…
To choose hotels, I prefer tripadvisor at first glance, because:
Among the third-party hotel bookers, I usually opt for travelocity (in the absence of a huge price differential, which will show up on tripadvisor) because of their guarantee and customer service, which has worked well for me at least twice. I do like booking.com for its detailed display of room choices.
For flights, I always use the airline, after using google for price comparisons.
For cars, either hotwire or travelocity, mostly for ease of usage.
