TL;DR
Heavy Body Armor
Heavy Body Armor is frequently mentioned as the top choice for maximum defense. While it offers superior protection, some players are concerned about its impact on mobility and overall gameplay experience. The heavy armor can feel cumbersome, potentially affecting your ability to move quickly or evade attacks [1:1],
[2:9].
Versatility and Playstyle
Many players emphasize the importance of choosing armor that complements their playstyle. For instance, some prefer lighter armors like the Lite Stealth Scout Armor for increased mobility and stealth, especially when completing objectives while avoiding direct confrontations [2:3]. Others appreciate the balance offered by medium armors such as the B-01 Tactical, which combines decent protection with enhanced speed
[2:5].
Mixing Armor Sets
A common strategy among players is to mix and match different armor pieces to gain specific advantages. This approach allows players to tailor their armor setup to suit particular scenarios or personal preferences. For example, combining pieces from various sets can provide a blend of offensive and defensive capabilities, enhancing overall effectiveness [5:7].
Situational Preferences
Certain armors are favored for specific situations or enemy encounters. For instance, Cockroach Armor is praised for its passive abilities and resistance to venom, making it useful against certain enemies [3:2]. Similarly, the Orb Weaver Armor's set bonus is valued for increasing critical hit rates, which can be advantageous in combat
[3:3].
Ultimately, the best armor in PUBG depends on individual needs and the context of the game. Players should consider their own strategies, the types of engagements they expect, and how they want to balance protection with mobility when selecting their armor.
Ive gone from civilian to military to spec ops to black ops, i also found heavy armour but havent used it cuz it looks clunky and maybe cancels ability to run? Not sure. What do you run and why? Is there a best armour set?
Every piece of armor has a roll chance on defence percentage, i think the black ops set is pretty good but if get a low roll it can like anything else
I think when it comes to gear, once you have a good weapon setup, gear becomes trivial, as you should be killing them easily because you should be wasting them easily before they reach you. Gear armor differences won’t mean much if you get swarmed or shoot an invisible wall too close with you nade launcher…
Heavy Body Armor IS the best, but there needs to be a black color variant so it matches the black ops set. The highest roll I've seen on one is 34%. 35% is the max, but I've never found one with a perfect roll, and im approaching 200 hours played on this game
When you play on nightmare, sadly, you gotta forget about FashionDead and use what's best.
Have you ever found a weapon with a perfect damage stat roll? I’m also struggling to find items with perfect rolls and I wonder if it has something to do with the distribution of stats where perfect values are close to impossible to find
Never have, nope. Im starting to think they CANT drop as a perfect roll
Yes! Grenade launcher from shakes. I was kinda mad cuz i just found my first one like 15 minutes beforehand. Had to buy it though.
What I look best in, 😉👍
Real
Obligatory no “best” armor as a lot of armor passives turn out to be really useful, but light gunner is definitely a contender. Light armor speed and stamina with medium armor defense, shits pretty good
Can literally be used on all fronts with pretty much any loadout, excluding double edge sickle. The versatility this armour brings is too damn high and ever since I got it, I wear it in like 80% of my games. It always performs solid through the entirety of the match. Also it doesn't require you to have other stuff equipped. Like the gas /Fire armours only makes sense if you go nuts with the specific dmg, servo assisted needs you to have a shit ton of non-blue strats etc etc
I'm not trying to say the best armor I'm trying to say like what's your best armor like the one you like the most
Lite stealth scout armor. I run it on all fronts at diff 10. Allows me to avoid encounters while knocking out objectives, while my team distracts the enemy. The only time I have had some issues is with the predator strain, because those bastards are everywhere it seems.
What armor is this
Default B-01 Tactical. Medium armor with padded perk. Basically heavy armor (150) that lets you run faster. Honestly a really underrated set on any front.
My go to is the Street Scout, I love the reload and extra ammo perk and i love how it looks
I basically never take it off except for defense missions (when I run the heavy siege ready armor)
Peak armor
AKA Light Gunner armor
I'd rather have heavy armor at medium armor speeds than medium armor at light armor speeds.
Heavy armor is amazing and I'm not one for running away.
Exactly I really love when I get extra nades, but isn't it so much cooler to become the nade after you die?
MARTYRDOMMM!!!!
Just curious because im having a hard time deciding what I want to wear. lady bug sounds great but they are a pain to kill tbh.
Cockroach armor has been so handy for me with the constant lifsteal on corpse looting
Also the venom resistance is great for wolfspider/scorpions
Cockroach is probably the best imo. The passive is better from the other heavy/defensive sets
You can literally unga bunga everything, get rage perk and it's even better add mosquito needle if you really really need it. Facetank it all and don't care
Orb Weaver armor is really good, the set piece bonus is really strong and can stun a lot of bugs out of their attack animations
That's not orb weaver armor, all crits do that
Orb weaver armor has a set bonus effect called critical momentum which increases your crit rate with each successive hit, that is why I mentioned it.
Personally, I really like the butterfly armor. Even if I'm not wearing the full set, getting a damage reduction barrier after parrying makes the helmet alone really good imo and a lot of bugs (except spiders) have a fresh weakness so the rest of the armor is decent too! (Bonus fresh damage if parry barrier is active)
Ladybug armor used to be my favorite in Grounded 1, but "creatures are more likely to attack you" and "blocking uses less stamina" are two awful effects (but the set bonus is nice)
Ladybug armor is a tank armor in this, not healing cheese
Lady bugs are easy with a smashing weapon
Gotta agree with this. First thing I did when I made a club was go straight for the ladybugs. Ol’ reliable, never lets me down. If you haven’t learned their attack patterns yet, drop a save before aggro, just to be safe. Their attacks aren’t hard to learn, but messing up even one will hurt.
My go-to armor is scorpion armor. When playing Rogue, it feels pretty... OP. Combined with Wolf Spider Daggers, you can almost one-shot a ladybug and oneshot most of the creatures. I kill scorpions and ladybugs without using any busting weapon - it's just so overpowered
Hey, question about rogue build. I guess playing as rogue, it’s a sneak and attack build? I tried this but every bug seems to home in on me from a mile away and spot me?
Yeah, pretty much so. Most of the bugs are deaf, so you can come on them from behind without crouching. A very important part is to have the Assassin and Sneak Attack as Mutations.
But! Even when facing the bug 1v1, max upgraded daggers + Assassin mutation you can battle anyone - jsut time your blocks :)
Hey guys,
What's the best armor and weapon PVP/PVE oriented after X update?
And what about bigger hitboxes at combat armors? Are combat armors still worth grinding?
Armor: Combat - Mule/Ace or the super heavy suit Combat is unusable in 50% of the north
Combo armor is shit. It is a half measure.
Sci suits can run everywhere and have not much less BR than combo. I use a saturn full time, best thing i’ve ever used.
Weapon: Everything is good, but:
A-545 is good and doesn’t get nerfed, Fn f2000 is essentially the same thing, but has more distance and worse up close. AMB-17 is OP up close, absolute shit at distance, and playing with a 20 round mag(you can craft a 30 rounder in the north) is not fun. ASh-12 is op, but you craft it in Limansk(no idea what it’s called in english after Day X) and Limansk is badly designed and outdated, and it’s the most expensive gun. If you add up it’s barrel and mag which are vital for the gun to be good it’s like 110+ serum. PKP is really solid, but the gun before it(RPD) is comically bad.
Armor: L take. Combat is ok, however most endgame players use combo unless participating in CW/Session Battles. A correctly build artifact build will counteract and deficiencies in BR through VIT/HEFF. It additionally allows you to have a direct advantage in the center of forge-11 without negative vitality debuffs from drugs.
Weapons: W-ish take. A-545 or any 5.45 ammo weapon is perfectly balanced for most play. AMB slaps but lacks even with the 30 round mag. ASH-12 got nerfed and is far too expensive for full utility for the average player. If anything the correct answer is to wait for the rework of he sniper and SMG lines to see how the EBR and new smgs hold against current ARs, especially as both will be full auto and more suited for the close range & long streets/alleys of inflow/mines/forge
Bad take, combo armors are great in the new north. You can go to the middle of the forge and have an edge over scientist players.
That might be the only place where combo armor is actually good. My point is that sci armour can do everything that combo armor does and even more. The difference in BR between a saturn and a Scythian 5 is 40, imo that is not enough to give up the comfort of not dying to hazards.
or just pop psi pills in combat armour no?
What about the centurion and the VSS?
mule/ace is overall a better choice for exploring the north, it has a -30BR compared with Centurion but Centurion gives -5% movement speed and -10% stamina, also mule gives +45 carry weight allowing you to make more artifact builds that are not oriented towards carry weight
vssm, from my personal experience, should be a "secondary weapon" used with a high dps AR like the first comment said, it is usable on many scenarios and on mid-long range is quite good, for cqc you will depend on yours and the opponent skill
Ace is best for combat armor. Centurion is not worth getting, it only has 20 more BR than ace but has big debuffs and 30 less carry weight.
Scythian for combo, but they are kinda useless right now due to map almost not having infections.
Saturn is really good and comfortable suit, but doesnt have much BR. I'd highly suggest getting it at least for labyrinth farm.
A545 is a great close quarters gun, and most of current north is close distance fights. FN tactical is great for mid ranges, its also much more comfortable in terms of recoil and accuracy (compared to A545)
Might aswell consider getting VSSM and Kriss vector, since new SMG barter tree is coming.
Might aswell start getting beast slayer, since when the dungeons will come, it'll be one of best armours out there.
This is for global so NA EU or SEA Armors right now craft-able is mule or cent for combat and scientist suit. Combo is mostly useless. Super heavy are good but mostly for clan wars and session battles it’s not worth open world anymore. I prefer cent the extra bullet res makes it superior for pvp but mule right now is better for open world with its bonuses. Weapons it’s mostly just preference there is a meta but the gap isn’t crazy. Hold off on smgs and snipers. Make any assault rifle besides f tac.
Best weapons come from Limansk, but Limansk is extremely bad zone. I hope the designer who made it gets fired unironically
Centurion with its massive head hitbox is virtually worthless. 9/10 a skat player will tank more shots than a centurion player just because most shots will hit plate or limbs. Against cent its almost impossible to miss the head and negate all your plate value plus gain a headshot multiplier. My biggest mistake was centurion
I've been using mother demon armour pretty much since I got into tier 3 territory, but I'm thinking of switching to black ox or roly poly. What do you guys use and what would you consider "best"? Either it's best for your build, or the most well-rounded, whatever.
Just looking for recommendations.
I use the mask of the mother demon, Termite chest sleek, and Mantis greaves, chance for poison, venom, bleed, and dust slow attack + dust guard if you ever fight termites or dust mites
I use same. Dust guard is whatever but i like the build cuz its fairly lightweight too
I swapped to full widow armor for NG+ for the heals
broodmother helm, fire ant chest, mantis legs is what i used for max dps but the damage does scale off heavy once your in NG+4 and higher so at that point you can use whatever you really want (the dots do not scale with your dmg)
Another one i enjoyed was broodmother helm, termite chest, ladybug leggings to debuff enemy, heal more (with life steal)
I've been trying out using one piece of Broodmother, one piece of fire ant and one piece of mantis. It's alright but I think I prefer full Broodmother
I just find that I don't get much use out of the demon mothers poison. I kill most things fast so it doesn't help me much. I guess in boss fights it's alright, but it'll save me maybe a couple of swings? Idk.
Like black ox has the whole stun charged attack thing which could be crazy, and fire ant set has the weaken defenses thing which sounds helpful all around.
Realistically sets arnt really good
You need to mix and match pieces with different buffs to be actually effective in anything past ng1
For bosses i use ladybug armor MAXED out for a boost in healing, I beat the IBM in it. But for other bugs in general i use the broodmother armor
Ive been trying to find conclusive stats but I can’t figure out what armor to go with. I heard that the combat armor the proper mods outclasses even the scout armor with mods, if this is the case then why would the scout armor mods be so expensive? Should I just try to craft combat armor and farm for mods?
Secret Service is best overall, but you need to grind SOOOO much gold, as well as scrip and modules for variations you actually want. Until you get this, you're better off just using whatever of the specific Legendary you want rather than seeking out the best of the best. If you don't want to listen to that, then Heavy Combat Armor would be the best outside of SS, so go for good variants of that.
Thr Chinese Stealth Suit (courtesy of Jen) is also really good for the most part, especially but even outside of a stealth build, but is super expensive to make and repair.
Max out your Fix-it-Good and White Knight perks even if you only swap them in for repairs. Also, save your repair kits for your CSA and workbench repair everything else when possible.
Marine Armor is the best, second only to PA, according to loading screen tips
Secret Service armor is the best overall atm. Downside is you have to grind gold to obtain the plans. Then I would say till then combat armor since the mods are gained by scraping combat armor.
My bad I forgot about that. I guess I meant the best readily available armor? It will take me months to farm enough bullion for the SS armor. I really want that jet pack tho lol.
Hvy Combat torso is the highest non-bullion DR piece. Scout limbs come in at 45/30 modded, Combat limbs are 35/45 Modded. Hvy Leather limbs are 32/77 Modded so whoever says combat limbs is best needs to check themselves.
You can get the torso + jetpack in a week or so depending on how generous you are with your bullion at the end of the wastelanders quest. Rush that one first :)
SS is the best.
Scout mods are expensive because they cannot be learned. Only purchased from modus.
CA is fine. Once you're around 300dr/er there is a lot of diminishing returns. Even if you got to 500dr it wouldn't be as good as PA for raw damage reduction, as PA has a flat 42% baked in as well as good dr/er/rad
So honestly get what you like. Legendary effects and mods are more important.
Heavy combat is the best matched set outside of ss
Heavy combat, heavy leather arms, heavy metal legs will give you the best overall stats of you don't mind a mixed set
Do you know how to get plans for the heavy metal legs? I bought them for the heavy combat and heavy leather armors but I can’t find heavy metal at any vendors?
They might be level locked. But the Grafton vendor sells the combat plans. And I think the vendor in morgontown sells the leather
I am kinda interested in which armor has been armor has been carrying you guys the best in PVE. For the the Pantsir 2.0 has been an amazing mid tier armor, and I never had a coma or death while wearing it (unless the AI got my head ofc), but I wonder, especially in top tier places which armor you guys use the most and had the best survival rate.
Thanks in advance for the comments.
I'd love to use the Plate 6 purely for the drip but its too damn hard to come across.
Really wish all gear was purchasable
Typically the M2 or the RPC, depending on what gun I'm running, and how many M2s I've got lol.
I have a few Phantoms but I haven't actually tried them yet. Maybe I'll change that soon just to see what it's like.
Phantoms are noticeably better. Can take anything from far away and a good peppering from most rounds.
But nothing protects your gizzard from a slug to the shoulder hair.
Nice name.
I run HP Lines key, TBO garage, and Ban Pa Elder room, SM OStrg for the black gear crates and the MSS/CSI/LRI crates. First week of reset all I could find was phantoms now all I find are plate 6s.
It’s all just RNG.
Rpc for tasks, where I'm not loot focus (like 5kg, but 3x3)
Sk-s + 6sh104 when I'm loot focused (similar weight total, but 4x4 inventory grids inside)
It just looks like rpc saved my life more times
Could be purely anecdotal, but I read that sometimes putting on a vest with a chest rig made it so the vest blocked nothing. That seemed to be mine and my buddies e perience as well (we also ran sk-s and 6sh).
Now we only run M2 or rpc or even the elite vest/rig and have had a much better experience absorbing bullets with those 3. Again, could be purely anecdotal but my guy got dropped from a chest shot from soft point 7.62 and that was it for me and split set ups.
That’s been patched, no more vest bug
Panties, then RPC. Both are easily available.
Absolutely, that's why it's good "purely for the drip"
I haven’t worn anything that isn’t 3++ between the phantom and plate 6 and I am kind of spoiled to the beating they take.
My priority for vest has been.
I don’t wear anything else.
Level 6 vest with 1x Lead lined fabric & 2x refined exoskeletons, for Radiation, help you get in and out of Radiation Zone faster.
Have another vest with 2x Refined Tactical pouch and 1x Refined Steel plate for steady looting.
And a third vest with what the other guy said for general playing in a squad and looking to fight other teams.
Steel Front Armor with 1 Refined Penetration Plate and 2 Refined Reduce Damage Plates
Play that Phantom Robe istg its so good
Bright and shadow
bright robe i heard is the best before mythic
Bright robe or mythic level golden chest piece
Mythic golden
Common void robe
I hop between mythic gcp and mythic pc
Still mythic golden afaik, they nerfed it from its peak a while back but it’s still better than the other stuff. BR is probably second place
