Best Artifacts for a Pyro Team in Genshin Impact

TL;DR

  • Crimson Witch of Flames: Ideal for boosting Pyro damage and reactions.
  • Lavawalker: Useful against enemies affected by Pyro.
  • Noblesse Oblige: For team-wide attack buffs.
  • Emblem of Severed Fate: Great for energy recharge and burst damage.

Crimson Witch of Flames

The Crimson Witch of Flames set is highly recommended for Pyro characters due to its ability to enhance Pyro damage and boost elemental reactions like Overloaded, Burning, and Vaporize. This set is particularly effective for main DPS characters like Yanfei or Xiangling, who rely heavily on Pyro attacks [2:3].

Lavawalker Set

Another option for Pyro teams is the Lavawalker set, which increases damage against enemies affected by Pyro. While not as universally applicable as the Crimson Witch of Flames, it can be useful in certain scenarios where enemies are consistently affected by Pyro status [5:1].

Noblesse Oblige

For support characters like Bennett, the Noblesse Oblige set is an excellent choice. It provides a team-wide attack buff after using an elemental burst, making it a staple for many team compositions. This set can help amplify the overall damage output of your Pyro team [3:5].

Emblem of Severed Fate

Characters that require high energy recharge for their bursts, such as Xingqiu or Bennett, benefit from the Emblem of Severed Fate set. This set boosts energy recharge and converts it into burst damage, making it ideal for characters who frequently use their elemental bursts [2:1].

Artifact Stats and Substats

When choosing artifacts, focus on stats like Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and Elemental Mastery for DPS characters. Balancing Crit Rate and Crit Damage is crucial for maximizing damage output, as seen in discussions about optimizing crit stats [5:1]. Energy Recharge and HP% can be important for support characters to ensure they can use their abilities effectively [1:5].

In summary, selecting the right artifact sets and optimizing stats can significantly enhance the performance of a Pyro team in Genshin Impact. Consider the roles each character plays in your team and choose artifacts that complement their strengths and abilities.

hey! im back again LOL ive attached my current baizhu build, which is a WIP! i have him on a team with Kinich, Bennett and PyroMC (will be swapped for Mavuika once i get her), so essentially a burning team!

recently gave him the wandering catalyst bc i do want him to help out as a sub dps with reactions. however, im just trying to figure out what his artifacts should be. i want him to still have a decent amount of DPS, but like not a full DPS either since i do want to have some HP% stats for his burning passive buff + healing

i was thinking Sands EM/ER, Goblet HP%/Atk and Circlet EM/Atk? any other recommendations?

999looney · OP · 4 months ago

additional info i forgot to add; Kinich is dealing majority of the damage but I have baizhu to help out with setting up some burning reactions on the side, like while kinich's skill is on cooldown and stuff yk? so just something that'll help Baizhu hold his own, deal some damage/reactions while also supporting the team :D

Definitely ER sands, and maybe crit rate crown. Kinich is mobile and can usually avoid damage to a degree. Baizhu already heals a lot each rotation - especially if he has his burst.

Burn doesn’t do that much damage. And Baizhu’s buff won’t really help that significantly. Burn is notoriously weak and needs an eventual buff. For now Kinich and Emilie are a sort of pseudo buff in that their personal damage is dramatically boosted alongside the reaction.

So if you can get your Baizhu with around 30k hp, and 50/100 crit rate he’d do better. Even better if he was holding Reverie instead of Deepwood, but you’d need Kinich’s c2 to make that worth it. Personally, I have Emilie’s c2 for that. ;) So I run the Trio with Mavuika.

In this build you’d probably want to replace the weapon with the Battle Pass catalyst that’s made for him. If you don’t have access to that, another crit weapon will be enough. Or just Prototype amber/favonius to help with healing/energy.

The current weapon needs to either be r5 (expensive/luck) or he’d need like 1k EM to make the buff from it worth it - which would ruin all his healing and damage. And the buff from it wouldn’t compensate for that loss.

——

I read you’re getting Mavuika in 5.7 phase 2. :) Who will the 4th person be? Perhaps they can hold Deepwood if you use someone like Dehya/Thoma/Ororon. That way Baizhu can do more damage while holding Reverie - like 30k per hit, so around 200k per rotation at c0. He can be your Emilie. ;)

ah thanks a bunch for this info!! yeah baizhu's really tricky, i know hes not the Greatest in a Kinich team but I really do love baizhu and can't not have him on a team LOL

i have battle pass! i saw someone in the discord server say the same thing about sac jade, i was thinking of getting it in the next battle pass rotation!

as for reverie, i only have kinich at c1 at the moment, hence why i kept baizhu on deepwood!

so as of now my team is Kinich (obsidian), Baizhu, Pyro MC (cinder city) and Bennett (for exploration/bosses/domains). i will be replacing Pyro MC with Mavuika once i get her in 5.7!

in abyss, i use bennett on the flip side with a Xiao team, so i have an extra slot free! i do have Thoma and Ororon. if Iansan is one of the 4 stars on the 5.7 banner i might pull for Iansan because i heard shes really good for kinich as well! what do you think would work better? :0

999looney · OP · 4 months ago

i heard thoma works well as a holder for deepwood, so i could do:
Kinich (obsidian), Baizhu (reverie), Mavuika/Pyro MC (cinder city) and Thoma (deepwood)

Sac Jade r5 is like 95% equivalent to his signature.

His sig has no crit/EM, but covers HP/ER. The BP has no ER, but covers HP/Crit/EM. In fact, it has more HP. So before c6 it’s actually better than his sig.

Thoma c6 can provide dmg buffs, Iansan is good with Kinich and would be better. Also helps Mavuika refresh the Cinder buff, I’ve read. Hopefully she’s paired with Mavuika. Iansan would hold Noblesse.

Rotation:

Mavuika E/Q > Baizhu E/Q > Iansan E/Q > Kinich E/Q/E/(NA4/E)x3 > Mavuika

Iansan temporarily ruins burn, which allows Mavuika to properly react with Dendro again - because without that she would only be extending the previous reaction. That won’t proc Cinder’s buff. She’s also right before Kinich or else her buff will end rapidly. Mavuika’s burst expends her skill’s uptime and buff’s Kinich’s damage. Baizhu’s burst lasts 15 seconds, so he’s good.

Which artifacts to use for a strong team

Posted by Naitia_Clo960 · in r/GenshinImpact · 3 years ago

Hey everyone,
I'm kinda new to Genshin Impact, I'm playing since a month now. I'm just trying to build an efficient team with what I have, which is not much, not gonna lie. The best option for me would be to have one main in each elements. For now I have:
- Traveller (anemo)
- Yanfei (pyro)
- Razor (electro) but I will try to pull Yae Miko
- Zhongli (geo)
- Chongyun (cryo)
- Xingqiu (hydro)

Knowing that the first four characters are my main team. What kind of artifacts would you recommend to use to have an efficient and/or equilibrate team? Should I go for the artifacts that will buff their element, or rather a set which will increase attack, defense etc? Also, will you go for a 4+ set or two different 2+ set? I'm kinda lost with all the options lol. I'm just not doing enough damage to my liking and it's getting hard for me to do the main quest in Enkonomiya.
Thanks for the help!

What's your Adventure Rank? Also, with those characters i advise you to run this team:

Yanfei(Main dps), Xingqui, Chongyun, Zhongli

With this you can amplify Yanfei's dmg with vaporize and sometimes melt reactions. (Xingqui applies the wet status on enemies). While Zhongli shields your team.

I'm at 45 AR right now and I'm not elevating my world yet since I'm having trouble defeating some mobs already :(. Thanks for the tips though! I'm trying to build them slowly.
Is the traveller that bad of a character? I'm always seeing him/her being excludes from main teams. But I built him the most and I gotta say I kinda like his/her gameplay

2 upvotes on reddit
Sera97 · 3 years ago

Well, you can start farming for 5 star artifacts inside the domains then. Be prepared to waste a lot of months of resin to get some decent pieces though.

The traveller is really bad compared with other characters but if you don't have any anemo you can still use him with the Viridescent Venerer set (it debuffs enemies by reducing their elemental resistance by 40% for the element swirled)

There's a great google sheets that someone put together here that helps you build your teams!

The first thing you want to do is decide what role you need each person in your team to play. Is Zhongli for shielding? People usually go 4pc Tenacity of the Millileth for that. Is he a physical DPS? Go 4pc Pale Flame. Is he for burst support? 4pc Emblem of Severed Faith.

Have a look at the google sheets and decide what role you want each character to play on your team. It'll tell you the best artifacts you'll need for that role.

Sometimes it's better to go a 2pc/2pc artifact build depending on the character and if they would benefit from the 4pc bonus or not. For example, Xiao is used a lot with a 2pc VV/2pc Gladiator's Finale or a 2pc VV/2pc Shimenawa's Reminiscence rather than a 4pc VV set.

Which artifact sets for whom?

I'm not super knowledgeable on the new artifacts and whatnot and I don't know what artifacts, stats, and substats I should go for, all I know is that Kinich should be on Obsidian Codex but the rest I'm not really sure and just keep seeing mixed opinions? I genuinely do want to have Pyro Traveler in my team though

I think the best is Bennett on nobless, traveler on scroll, Kinich on obsidian and Emily on reverie.

You'll lose some damage from Kinich by not having a deepwood set, but it should be more than made up for with Emiliy's personal damage

Is there a way to sneak in deepwood set by switching something out? Or does it require me switching out my pyro traveler for another character? I'm kind of looking to find a best team for kinich but I don't have a Mavuika but I do have a Xiangling

If u want more kinich damage you can use yao yao for deepwood

As the person above you said, its either you buff Kinich himself by putting deepwood on Emilie or increase her personal damage, depends on what's better for you. At least with this team

2 upvotes on reddit
Emi_157 · 1 month ago

Altough Cinder City is the best theoretically I would advise you to put Deepwood on PMC because it is unlikely that you will proc CC after the first rotation and this way you can put Reverie on Emilie, which is by far her best set for damage (you can go without DW and it will be fine against normal enemies but you will truggle a lot against those who have relatively high dendro res)

2 upvotes on reddit
Emi_157 · 1 month ago

Note: if your kinich is really high invested then it might be optimal to use CC and DW on PMC and Emilie respectively

2 upvotes on reddit
BoredomUncontainable · OP · 1 month ago

My Kinich is C0R0 with Serpent Spine, I'll try running the DW PMC and Reverie on Emilie, as for weapons is there anything specific to use except for maybe ER requirements? I can probably get deathmatch for Emilie since I don't have her signature. For Bennett, I can have him on Freedom Sworn or Sapwood Blade but those two are the only viable weapons I have on him that are his usual builds, I have r5 Fav on the sword and polearm,

i’d do deep wood on traveler because scrolls can have weird uptimes depending on enemy but go reverie on emilie and nobliese on bennet

this was you buff both but don’t worry about scrolls buff

For sure cloaking device is one of best artifacts in the game currently bc of survivability + damage so I’d say what I normally run at least is cloak with Uni Then do arm enhancement on someone in a team full of GDA characters so immortal or such (circumstantial) Med kit in every or robot 100% eve if u have her leveled (skills included) otherwise robots a better option The books easily the greatest on Anissa due to her skill including humans I currently run trash bag on Allen bc I’m not sure who it’d b best on Then u can do lie ear piece on Omni Link-chip on invincible for pvp specifically since everyone runs him it can be a n easy stat boost U can use the globe on someone who gets their ability easily for example in pvp I run Invincible, Allen, doc, eve, robot and I use globe on robot then medkit with eve but I do believe it’s easier for eve ti get her ability I specifically don’t know. Hope this helps n If any of this is silly lmk

More crit rate and EM. Sacrifice some cd rolls and get to 80% CR.

.719 x 238.5 =171.482

.8 x 220.5 =176.4

.9 x 200.5 =180.45

The higher your CR, the better. Bc your cd stat is way overtuned and giving you diminishing results due to your relatively low Cr.

Choosing the Right Artifacts for your Main DPS

Posted by GMcC09 · in r/Genshin_Impact · 4 years ago

It's pretty well known at this point that a good artifact build is the key to a strong dps carry. However, there are still many people who are unsure of the best artifacts besides %Attack to use to get the most out of their DPS characters. It's a question I get often from friends and while I've seen it covered in some youtube videos, I haven't seen anything comprehensive posted here so today we're going to cover why Elemental Damage % Bonus is (almost) ALWAYS the best choice for your main DPS characters.

So, why is Elemental Damage % the best stat for the goblet artifact slot? Let’s look at the formula for the attack stat you see on the attributes page as well as a couple of examples to show why. For simplicity’s sake we will only be looking at the Main Stat on each artifact.

(Base Attack)(1 + %Attack) + Flat Attack Bonus [Feather and other artifact substats] = Attack Stat on attributes Page

Base Attack = Attack gained/ Character Level + Weapon Base attack

%Attack = The total quantity from all artifacts (and in some cases the 4th stat from the character (eg Fischl) or the second stat from weapons (eg Rust/Prototype Aminus)) divided by 100 to convert to a decimal

Flat Attack Bonus = The value from your Feather artifact as well as any flat attack numbers in the substats of your artifacts.

Example 1:

In this example let’s imagine you have three 5 star artifacts that are all % attack bonus and a 5 star Feather.

Base Attack = 550

Artifact 1 = 0 [Flower can only have HP for the main stat]

Artifact 2 = 311 Attack

Artifact 3 = 46.6% Attack

Artifact 4 = 46.6% Attack

Artifact 5 = 46.6% Attack

Attack = (550)(2.398) + 311 = 1630

Let’s say your elemental skill has a 100% attack ratio. It would be doing 1630 damage before crits, defense, and resistances.

Example 2:

For this example, let’s replace one of our 5 star % Attack artifacts with a 4 star % elemental damage bonus.

Base Attack = 550

Artifact 1 = 0 [Flower can only have HP for the main stat]

Artifact 2 = 311 Attack

Artifact 3 = 46.6% Attack

Artifact 4 = 34.8 Elemental Damage Bonus

Artifact 5 = 46.6% Attack

Attack = (550)(1.932) + 311 = 1374

So, clearly we have a lower attack stat when we replace one of the % Attack artifacts with % Elemental Bonus Damage. However, when calculating the damage for the elemental skill, we have an additional multiplier. So let’s take a look at the damage for it now.

Elemental Skill dmg = (Attack)(1 + Elemental Damage Bonus %)

= (1374)(1.348)

= 1852

Even though we are using a 4 star artifact, we are still seeing a damage increase when using dealing any type of elemental damage. With a 5 star artifact, the damage for the skill would be over 2000.

The reason for this increase in damage is due to the formula from the beginning. Since % Attack on multiplies your Base Attack Stat, it loses out to the all encompassing effects of % Elemental Damage bonus.

There are some exceptions to this rule such as characters like Jean or Qiqi that scale their healing abilities off of the attack stat(still want % Attack), and characters like Razor, who deal mostly physical damage (and would therefore want a % Physical damage bonus).

TLDR: Unless you are equipping characters like Jean/Qiqi that want as much attack as possible (wants % Attack) for their healing abilities or characters like Razor who deal more physical damage than elemental damage (wants % Bonus Physical Damage) it's always better to get a goblet with the right elemental damage bonus for that slot.

How does Diluc fit into this? I feel like a good amount of his damage comes from normal attacks. Right now I'm just stacking attack % on gladiator's with prototype animus for the big white numbers. Also his 4th stat is crit % so would crit damage be more beneficial in the hat artifact slot?

Sorry for being a noob. I've only just started thinking about all this as I approach the end game and you explained it better than most :)

1 upvotes on reddit
GMcC09 · OP · 4 years ago

I'm happy to help! For the most part, while Diluc does use normal attacks a lot, he also has the ability to turn his normal attacks into pyro damage. I'm also running Diluc and pretty much doing the same thing as you right now due to some limited artifact resources.

However, once you hit AR 35 and unlock Diluc's last passive Talent, the vast majority of his damage will become pyro damage because the pyro normal attacks will happen for 12 seconds (which is also the cooldown of his elemental burst) so with the right supports you can basically just continue to use burst off cooldown. However, in my opinion there are a couple ways you can build him in terms of artifact set bonuses.

Gladiator 4 piece set is very good for him because even when his normal and charged attacks are doing pyro damage they are still amplified by the extra 35%. Crimson Witch set is also good for the 4 piece set bonus due to the 3 charges on his elemental skill. Berserker's 2 piece can also be decent, especially due to how easy they are to find early game. The additional crit helps boost his crit rate to good levels. I don't like the 4 piece set because it involves taking damage and making sure that you're below that 70% threshold consistently, which isn't easy to do in hectic fights. In terms of main stats on each artifact, the ideal set up would look something like this:

Flower = HP
Feather = Flat Attack
Timepiece = % Attack
Goblet = % Pyro Damage
Crown = % Attack > Crit Rate > Crit Dmg

Basically for Crown, early you want % Attack, then you want crit rate as your attack gets higher, then crit damage as your crit rate gets higher. It's hard to say when is the right time to switch over because a lot of it will depend on the rng'd secondary stats you get on the other artifacts.

2 upvotes on reddit
AlmightyStarfire · 4 years ago

Ahhh I hadn't even considered his other passive! I guess yeah that really tips the scales in favour of pyro % on the cup.

I guess with this in mind crimson witch 4 set would be his end game gear as it would usually be boosting all damage as opposed to just normal attacks and i guess the pyro 15% on the set effect is also preferable to the 18% atl on gladiator's anyway?

Thanks for the high effort reply! <3

One step closer to understanding the stats, still need to work out elemental mastery

3 upvotes on reddit
GMcC09 · OP · 4 years ago

Glad it helped! Definitely is not easy to understand all the different stats in this game. I've had many friends ask me about them which prompted me writing this in the first place. Since it was already written down I figured I'd share it here.

For Elemental Mastery, it's basically used to increase the multipliers for elemental reactions. I don't know all of the math behind it yet so I can't break it down like above but some quick points:

  • Supports benefit the most from this as they are usually the ones proccing elemental reactions
  • Stronger early-mid game than very late game (Post AR 40)
  • Best for Swirl users like Venti and Sucrose
  • Not a great stat for Main dps units.
  • It benefits electro based reactions like Overloaded, Superconduct, and electro charged more than Vaporize/Melt since the former only scale off of level and elemental mastery whereas Vaporize and Melt scale moreso off of the power of the attack that triggered them.

Xianling if You need the pyro app and personal damage Say tulpa battle for example xianling 230% ER with emblem set pyronmc You just need to use tap skill You can build full EM to trigger overloads with ToM to give varesa a buff

either is fine, xiangling you need to make sure you have enough er and manage that more, pmc just hit skill and be done with.
i havent tested but i have the feeling xl would be more damage, specially vs this current abyss.

Yeah, Xianling works well.

Xiangling and the ER needs are really not that bad at all, there isn't Bennett but there is chevreuse who generates Pyro particles, not to mention that that team should have atleast 2 fav users. You won't have much issue managing ER there

So after a month and a half, I am finally at the point where I can start farming gold artifacts. I also just got a whole bunch of new characters due to luck and hitting my 300 and the anniversary. Given my team here what should I be looking for and who should I build up first?

Definitely when it comes to dps focus first on Aurora and Sansar. They will carry you when you auto run stages. Death Crown is really good too since he is an OP tank and has two elements. It's best to focus on one unit at a time but yeah those three are a must from your roster imo

Yep and eliyar for the end game dark stages but you can brute force with aurora

I'm finally able to solo dark tower and tree of death ALOT easier now

Personally, you should focus on DC and Eliyar first, then Aurora. Yes aurora is the best DPS in the game, but Eliyar and DC's preferred sets drop in the same dungeon (Magnus) and DC will just solo the light dungeon when he's built correctly (You can literally auto it at that point). You knock out two birds with one stone, and then make hitting the 3rd easier.

In term of the end game stuff (Mostly portrait), the units you actually want to have online are: DC, Eliyar, Aurora, Nec, Sorin, and Albert. I'll throw in Sarka too cause his damage is also pretty busted. Nec and Albert's summons that taunt provide you a lot of leeway when it comes to doing portrait.

i'm using 4 piece glad with anemo damage goblet

VV is probably better since a good portion of his damage comes from plunge

yes, but my xiao at least takes a while to get to his ult, even though i use venti every 6 seconds to charge anemo particles, i'll have to test with VV and see if the lower auto damage is worth the trade off

What numbers does he do? :)

currently level 70 with level 80 deathmatch, auto's doing around 2k on average and plunge doing around 13-15k

4-piece Gladiator only buffs normal attacks. It doesn't help his E or plunge attacks. 2-piece Gladiator and 2-piece VV is best.

Does his attacks in burst trigger 2p noble?

1 upvotes on reddit
Loll_rk · 4 years ago

no because no less only triggers for initial activation since it’s more of a stance change like childe, no less doesn’t trigger because it buffs damage but it doesn’t affect the buffs that xiao receives from the burst.

I had 4 piece Viridescent at first but I didn’t like the dmg output and switched to 2 Gladiator + 2 Viridescent. All his skills are lvl 6 cause childe won’t drop anymore, but his normal attacks are getting about 2000 while anemo dmg has peaked 10000+

Best artifacts for a pyro team in genshin impact

Key Considerations for Pyro Teams in Genshin Impact:

  1. Artifact Sets:

    • Crimson Witch of Flames (4-piece): Increases Pyro damage and boosts Overloaded, Burning, and Melt damage. Great for maximizing Pyro DPS.
    • Noblesse Oblige (2-piece) + Crimson Witch of Flames (2-piece): This combination boosts Elemental Burst damage and Pyro damage, providing a balanced approach.
  2. Main Stats:

    • Sands: Energy Recharge or ATK% (depending on your character's needs).
    • Goblet: Pyro Damage Bonus.
    • Circlet: Crit Rate or Crit Damage for maximizing damage output.
  3. Substats to Prioritize:

    • Crit Rate and Crit Damage for increased damage.
    • ATK% for overall damage boost.
    • Energy Recharge to ensure you can use your Elemental Bursts frequently.
  4. Character Synergy:

    • Consider characters like Diluc, Klee, or Hu Tao who benefit greatly from Pyro damage boosts.
    • Pairing with Hydro characters (like Xingqiu or Barbara) can trigger Vaporize for additional damage.

Recommendation: If you're focusing on a character like Hu Tao, aim for a full Crimson Witch of Flames set with a focus on Crit Rate and Crit Damage. For Diluc, the same set works well, but you might also consider Noblesse Oblige for a support role in team compositions. Always tailor your artifact choices based on your team composition and the specific character you are using.
