What Redditors are Saying

Best Weapons for a Pyro Team in Genshin Impact

TL;DR

  • Polearm: Staff of Homa
  • Sword: Primordial Jade Cutter
  • Bow: Skyward Harp
  • Catalyst: Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds or Skyward Atlas
  • Claymore: Wolf's Gravestone

Pyro DPS Weapon Recommendations

For a Pyro-focused team, weapons that enhance critical damage and rate are generally favored. The Staff of Homa is widely regarded as one of the best polearms due to its high crit damage bonus [1:4]. For sword users, the Primordial Jade Cutter is praised for its crit rate substat, making it versatile across various sword-wielding characters [1:3]. The Skyward Harp is considered top-tier for bow users due to its crit rate and crit damage bonuses [1:4].

Catalyst Choices

The Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is often recommended for catalyst users because of its crit rate substat, which alleviates pressure on artifact builds [1:2][1:7]. Another strong option is the Skyward Atlas, which provides an attack boost and elemental damage bonus [1:5].

Claymore Options

Wolf's Gravestone is frequently mentioned as the best claymore due to its high base attack and ability to increase attack power significantly, benefiting both DPS and support roles [1:1][1:4].

Team Composition for Pyro DPS

A solid team composition for a Pyro main character could include Bennett for his attack buff and healing capabilities, Rosaria or Lynette for cryo application enabling melt reactions, and Xingqiu for hydro application enabling vaporize reactions [3:1][3:2]. This setup allows for powerful elemental reactions that can maximize the damage output of your Pyro DPS character.

Additional Considerations

While these weapon recommendations are optimal for maximizing damage, it's important to consider the synergy with your chosen team composition and playstyle. Experimenting with different combinations can help you find the most enjoyable and effective setup for your Pyro team.

Whats the best overall weapon for each type?

ORIGINAL POST

I was curious to see if there was a general agreement in the community on which weapon is the general best in its group (sword, bow, claymore, catalyst, polearm). I know some weapons are obviously better on one character or build but if you could only get one weapon for every character of that type to use, what would it be?

Also interested in the difference in tier list between DPS favorites vs Support favorites, since they obviously play different roles.

Homa, Jade Cutter, WGS, Lost Prayer, Skyward Bow.

For supports, they vary too much to have a tierlist.

I'd argue either Skyward Atlas or Memory of Dust is the best 5 star Catalyst weapon right now.

Lost prayer is a lot more flexible stat stick, I would argue that crit substats are what makes a weapon flexible (alleviate substat pressure on artifacts).

No optimal for some characters, but made them a lot easier to gear.

Nah lost prayer has crit substats. Memory of dust isn’t even worth mentioning compared to the other two though. Especially compared to lost prayer

weapon with cri damage and cri rate is best for any type of character.

jade cutter still best for all sword dps even tho they don’t need hp

It has a useless extra effect, but the highest crit rate substat in the game.

I mean extra tankiness and like +200 more attack is pretty good especially since it already gives 44 crit rate.

It’s literally the sword version of homa without the bonus for being half dead. It being crit makes it universal.

For DPS:

Homa, Jade Cutter/Aquilla/High refine Skyward Blade, WGS, Skyward Atlas, Skyward Harp

For support:

Homa/Fav Lance, Sac Sword, WGS/Serpent Spine, Elegy for the End/Sac Bow/Alley Hunter, Thrilling Tales/Widsith

Weapon and party for Pyro summoner

Posted by d00mer_g1rl · in r/DivinityOriginalSin · 3 months ago

Can’t decide which weapon and party is most optimal for pyro summoner. For a weapon can’t decide between two wands , wand & shield or staff, for party I made my choice only for Fane to make him Geomancer, should I do rest elemental as well or physical for mix party?

Summoner doesn't mix well with other specialties. You really want to pump your Summoner stat to the max. Summoners make great skill monkeys, as they don't need any particular stat, so they can pump Memory and dip into many skill trees for utility skills. A wand that boosts Summoning and a shield is fine.

As for the rest of your party, a 50:50 magic:physical mix is good, and all magic is even stronger. A Pyro mage and Aero mage would play nicely with your Geo.

You said Pyro summoner. I don't recommend mixing the two. I would instead make a Pyro and a summoner separately. They'll both be much better at their jobs!

motnock · 3 months ago

Summoning is around 20-25 for end game. To fully buff a summon you need LW or glass canon and adrenaline/flesh sacrifice if elf. Want the wits to be high so you can summon first and then go invisible or port away. If you go glass canon you’re vulnerable to charm and other ailments.

Pyro you want over 20 as well. This one you need intelligence though. As a summoner you might not be able to max intelligence and have initiative high enough to start fights.

Weapons you want summoning boosting gear. There is a wand sold by vendors. But it’s a rare random effect on wands and staffs. You also want pyro. Getting good gear that has +1/2 to both will take a lot of luck.

Going LW makes this build possible. But I’m not sure why you’d bother. Flame mage can decimate most encounters solo if your build is not shit. Incarnate summon fully buffed is also good late game. Yeah some enemies are immune to fire damage but that only and issue on solo runs.

This is doable but also makes gear harder to get and if you’re asking this question you might not understand damage math and build mechanics.

But as long as you have fun who cares. Just this is not an advisable build for tactician and even normal might make it difficult.

The presets are carry over from previous games and typical rpg tropes. Due to how this game handles combat and damage the cleric, witch, spellblade, etc are traps and really just make combat harder. But that can also make things fun.

2 upvotes on reddit
d00mer_g1rl · OP · 3 months ago

I feel more weak as pure summoner, because I can’t create surfaces, just one with random, can’t chose my favorite elemental damage and only what I could do is just summon incarnates or totems and just wait.. so I decided to use at least some elemental damage magic and focus on it. But if that isn’t possible as not Lone Wolf just let me know

0 upvotes on reddit
motnock · 3 months ago

What is your total summoning level right now with gear bonuses?

Some people use arrows to set surfaces. Or just combine a pyro book and summoning skill book and boom fire infusion. If one of those skill books is a source book then you get necrofire infusion. Necrofire incarnate+farsight+power+shadow+warp using the epidemic of fire attack will torch most mobs. Cursed air infusion also really good. Those are the main ones I used.

Usually I would summon. Buff. Run away and out of combat. Restore source. Sneak back. Resummon. Etc.

jbisenberg · 3 months ago

Summoner's weapon doesn't matter since the summoner isn't really going to attack themselves anyways. That is what the summons are for. So pick whatever gives you the best stat bonuses, ideally gear that gives you +Summoning.

3 upvotes on reddit
d00mer_g1rl · OP · 3 months ago

Why? Summoners can’t attack with weapon while they’re out of spells?

0 upvotes on reddit
J
jbisenberg · 3 months ago

A summoner can attack. But you'll find that once you're past the very early game that there are so many support spells that the summoner will want to be casting that there will not really be leftover AP to fight directly.

Well, assuming you're doing an INT build with light armor i would recommend Wand and Shield for a really solid defense. You're not likely to use your wand enough to motivate having two of them at expense of physical defense. Staff, well it's not really useful unless you're doing warfare too, pyro has enough cool skills to compensate for a stick.

I havent seen anyone suggest this, but my go-to would be Rosaria and Lynette and Bennett. Lynnette is actually really good at applying elements like cryo, and makes a full melt team possible, plus she gives a nice buff to atk with her passive. Her ult is also a taunt so not having a shield isn't that bad, and if you put Bennett circle and Rosaria ult on top of it, circle impact becomes a little less difficult to deal with because enemies will be drawn to it.

Best all-around team weapon/element-wise, regardless of characters.

Posted by wolfeng_ · in r/Genshin_Impact · 5 years ago

I hate going around to the party window all the time, and that got me thinking about what would be the best team comp to explore the world and deal with most puzzles/combat without the need to swap characters all the time.

  • Claymore and Bow for mining, breaking shields, and targeting weak points. As far as I can tell, there hasn't been any encounter that required the other weapon types.
  • When it comes to elements is that it gets tricky:
    • The main character is stuck with Geo for those pressure plates that require you to drop a boulder while stepping on another pressure plate.
    • Pyro for all the torches based puzzles. Some ice plants as well.
    • Some plants require water/ice, then you have wind to trigger updrafts.

How would you build a party that requires the least amount of character swapping? I'm not only considering the farming and exploration, but also a party that can handle most shield types ingame.

The Onyx Greatsword and the Demon's Scar imo are tailor made for pyromancers.

Almost anything chaos or dark infused works pretty well tbh. If you mainly want to cast, it’s best to go for something like the axe you start with so you don’t have to invest in physical stats.

Notable are Onyx Blade, Dagger (for quickstep and high crit damage), Millwood Battle Axe (hits insanely hard for how fast it is), Astora GS or guts GS for even more damage but with a heavy str investment. Pyro just has so many tools in this game… add crystal chime in the mix and you can even cast almost all spells too lol

without Rosaria your best cryo option is actually Chongyun + xianyun. Maybe you could use Skirk instead of him in that team and then use Gaming/Chongyun/Xianyun/Bennett. everything else is very uncomfortable and can't really be recommended

1 upvotes on reddit

I think Vape is really annoying to play without Furina. With Chongyun all you have to do is alternate between normal plunge and skill plunge, with XQ, you have to weave in his slow normal attacks. You could also try Kaeya + Diona, but sort of a waste of Xianyun

If diona is c6 use diona if it's not then use layla

If you want to further improve this team then pull for citlali, she's currently the best cryo applier for pyro dps.

Gaming, Chevreuse, Fischl, Bennett/Iansan

Use bennet or iansan depending whichever one's buff is greater.

Definitely get those artifacts to +20, Get the 78 curse bracelet if you're going to run 8 piece Curse. You can be f2p and still A5 things with time. You should do your 80 job change so you can get the ultimate skill and that 3rd blessing slot on the bottom. Also your stats are all over the place. Either full send it in strength or look up a stat build that you would perfer.

For Fire Hunters, Kanae, Gina or Esil (Get them to A5, especially Kanae).

For Light, Byeong-Yu, Thomas Andre, Go Gunhee, Beak Yoonho or even Cha (Among those who can deal break damage, either Baek or Gunhee. Thomas is really good)

Get Seo Jiwoo to A5. She's the best for dealing Break Damage. Alicia Blanche is also a good option for Water Type Hunter.

For Wind, Woo Jinchul, Mirei or even Hwang Dong-Soo( At A5).

If you're going for Dark, I'd say either Isla, Charlotte or Harper (best would be Charlotte imo)

For SJW's weapons, Plum Sword(Shadow Scythe is also good), Thetis's Grimoire, Baran's Longsword, the Phoenix Bow( or the Fans for Fire type) and Huntsman( Light Type)

Best weapons for a pyro team in genshin impact

Key Considerations for Pyro Team Weapons in Genshin Impact:

  1. Character Synergy: Choose weapons that complement the abilities of your Pyro characters. Look for weapons that enhance their damage output or provide additional elemental reactions.

  2. Weapon Type: Consider the weapon type of your Pyro characters (Sword, Claymore, Bow, Catalyst) to ensure you select the best weapon for their specific playstyle.

  3. Substats and Passives: Focus on weapons that provide beneficial substats (like Crit Rate, Crit Damage, or ATK%) and passives that boost Pyro damage or elemental reactions.

  4. Elemental Reactions: Pyro teams often benefit from reactions like Melt and Vaporize. Weapons that enhance elemental mastery can be advantageous for maximizing these reactions.

Recommended Weapons:

  • For Pyro DPS Characters (e.g., Diluc, Klee):

    • Wolf's Gravestone (Claymore): Increases ATK and provides a significant damage boost to characters with low HP.
    • Skyward Pride (Claymore): Offers increased ATK and energy recharge, plus a passive that boosts damage after using an Elemental Burst.
  • For Support Characters (e.g., Bennett):

    • The Bell (Claymore): Provides a shield and increases damage when HP is low, making it great for survivability.
    • Sacrificial Sword (Sword): Allows for more frequent use of Elemental Skills, which is beneficial for support roles.
  • For Catalyst Users (e.g., Yanfei):

    • Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds: Increases movement speed and provides a damage bonus, ideal for maximizing DPS.
    • Widsith: Offers a random buff to ATK, Elemental Mastery, or Elemental Damage, making it versatile for different situations.

Takeaway: The best weapons for a Pyro team in Genshin Impact depend on the specific characters you are using and their roles within the team. Focus on enhancing their strengths and maximizing elemental reactions for optimal performance.
