TL;DR
ASUS PG32UCDM
The ASUS PG32UCDM is frequently praised as an outstanding gaming monitor. It offers a 32" 4K OLED screen with a 240 Hz refresh rate, providing smooth gameplay and impressive motion clarity. Users highlight its exceptional HDR capabilities, with true blacks and bright highlights, making it a significant upgrade from IPS/FALD monitors [1]. This model is considered a top choice for those seeking a high-performance gaming experience.
Alternative Options
For those interested in a slightly smaller monitor, the ASUS PG27UCDM is mentioned as a viable alternative. It provides a higher pixel density (PPI) due to its smaller size, which can be beneficial for users who prioritize image sharpness. It also supports DisplayPort 2.1, allowing for uncompressed 240 Hz 4K output [1:1].
Considerations When Choosing a Monitor
When selecting a gaming monitor, it's essential to consider individual product merits rather than focusing solely on brand reputation. ASUS, like many other brands, does not manufacture its own panels but instead sources them from major producers like Samsung and LG [2:1]
[2:3]. Therefore, comparing features such as refresh rate, resolution, and HDR support across different models and brands is crucial.
Other Brands and Models
While ASUS is a popular choice, some users have had positive experiences with other brands like MSI and Samsung. For example, the MSI 321CURX and Samsung AW3225QF are mentioned as alternatives with strong performance in the 32" OLED category [3:4]
[3:1]. It's advisable to explore reviews and comparisons, such as those available on Rtings, to make an informed decision based on specific needs and budget
[5:1].
Conclusion
The ASUS PG32UCDM stands out as a top contender for gamers seeking a high-quality 32" OLED monitor. However, exploring other models and brands, considering personal preferences, and evaluating features are essential steps in finding the best monitor for your gaming setup.
Been running the ASUS PG32UCDM for a couple weeks and honestly, it feels like the first OLED monitor that actually does it all. 32" 4K at 240 Hz is smooth as hell, motion clarity is insane, and HDR looks wild with true blacks and bright highlights. It’s a legit step up from any IPS/FALD I’ve used.
Here's the link if anyone's interested: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Swift-Gaming-Monitor-PG32UCDM/dp/B0CV26XVMD/
Text and desktop use are way better than older QD-OLEDs too. At 32" 4K the subpixel stuff isn’t really an issue, fonts look crisp enough, and colors are spot on out of the box with an sRGB clamp if you need it. Works just as well for gaming nights as it does for photo or video work.
Build and features are solid: fanless so it’s silent, HDMI 2.1 for consoles, DisplayPort for 4K240 on PC, USB-C with charging, and even KVM if you need it. Glossy finish makes everything pop, though yeah, reflections can be a thing depending on your setup.
Downsides? It gets warm, burn-in protections can dim HUDs if you leave them up forever, and it’s definitely not cheap. But if you want one screen that handles esports, HDR single-player games, and creative work without compromise, this one actually delivers.
I was looking at this monitor as well but ultimately decided to go with the PG27UCDM, has better PPI due to smaller size; and has a 2.1 display port to run that 240hz 4k uncompressed
I only ever bought ASUS monitors and always thought they were very good.
First a simple VN-series TN panel 1080p 60 hz monitor, then another TN 1080p 144hz one and then a 1440p 144hz ROG-series and now a 3440x1440 165hz VA panel TUF-series.
Nowadays there are tons of other monitor brand in the gaming industry.
Can someone who has a lot of monitor experience tell me the possible weaknesses of ASUS monitors, if there are any? Am I missing out on anything that other brands do better than ASUS?
Obviously I could go for OLED, but I'm more talking about brand specific pros and cons.
Thanks in advance! 👍🏼
i don't now if it's the best brand, but personally i've had good luck with philips - last 3 all philips. minimal ips glow, excellent colors by default (didn't have to adjust anything, just plug'n'play), great price for what i got.
All monitor companies use the same panels from Samsung/LG. The only thing the brands do is make a stand, an OSD, tune small things panel wise and choose ports and such. Just going with whichever fits your budget and has the features you want is your best bet.
Alright, thanks! 👍🏼
Look at the merits of each individual product, not what brand it is.
Asus doesn’t make their own display panels, which is most of what makes a monitor good or bad performance wise at least. So they’re definitely not doing anything special any other company buying the same panels couldn’t do either.
Ok thank you! Which monitor manufacturer is making their own screens for example?
Samsung and LG are the two big ones in the consumer space that both sell monitors and make panels. Most other brands either buy from them or one of the companies that only produce panels, not monitors.
I currently have the Asus pg27ucdm but feel I need to go a tad bigger since all I use the monitor for is pc gaming. What’s the best 32in monitor money can buy? I have a 5090 so I wanna utilize it to the max. I play a good mix of games.
I just got the MSI 321CURX. It’s my first OLED, but it’s pretty amazing. I was previously on a 1440p 34” UW VApanel
How do you like the curve? What games you play?
I like it! My uw was a curve, so that led me to choose MSI’s curve version of their 32 inch 4k oled. I wanna say it’s an 1800r curve, so definitely not aggressive at all.
If you like the 27ucdm then the 32ucdm is the same thing without DP 2.1 though
I know DP 2.1 doesn’t make much difference but since my card has it I suppose it’s best to utilize it?
I'll be honest I use my asus for my xsx, ps5 pro, and MacBook Pro so don't know too much regarding 2.1 but from what I've read/seen on this sub is that most people are prioritizing it for future proofing. If you're fine without it I'd recommend the 32 as its generally cheaper than the 27 (reference I paid $990 brand new back in march)
AW3225QF. 4k OLED with 240hz refresh. Perfect curve. Glossy. Only problem may be raised black levels if in a room with a lot of direct sunlight.
I love this monitor so much lol
I ended up getting MSI 322URX
You want a proper HDR experience or broken hdr1000 mode. Tell me first
What do you mean
So this is my third OLED monitor… started with the Samsung G93SC loved the picture quality however I was tired of the ultrawide and I wanted to go 4K… so I basically traded it for the Dell AW3225QF and I just didn’t like that monitor at all I didn’t care for the HDR on it the peak brightness levels felt very weak to me… was highly disappointed so I sold it and wasn’t sure what I wanted I was thinking about trying out the LG dual mode 240/480hz monitor if I could’ve got it on sale.. so I had been checking fb marketplace and some guy had this ROG monitor posted brand new for $700 and it had good reviews like the Alienware did, so I took a shot on it… basically hit like steph curry wide open from 3 because this monitor feels worlds better than the previous 2 I had I’m very happy with this purchase, installed the newest firmware and so many cool features brightness feels so good for QDOLED the HDR is insane this is the current pinnacle of monitors at the moment while I find it hard to pay msrp for this but if you have it or can find a deal I couldn’t recommend it more… right out of the box it’s calibrated very nicely I made minor adjustments… it has a AI picture mode that seems cool (only in beta for now but it’s nice) the black myth wukong photo taken with phone not a screenshot I was just so amazed by it. Christmas came early for me!
Yep! It is pretty amazing. PG32UCDMR was just announced with DP 2.1. https://tftcentral.co.uk/news/asus-to-refresh-their-popular-32-qd-oled-monitor-with-the-rog-swift-pg32ucdmr
I have the pg27ucdm so they added the same functionality however the panel remains in 3rd gen? On the pg27ucdm it is the 4th Gen Samsung
Yes exactly.
That proximity care sounds amazing as well lol… I’ve been convinced 2.1 don’t matter so much
You have proximity care on UCDM.
You chose a great monitor, welcome to the club.
Wish I would’ve known sooner
I got on sale for 1k instead of 1200 so I'm def happy with it. Its easily the best looking screen I've ever seen
Easily
Im gona have to get someone to have a look on there I’m not on Facebook I have an account like but it’s just not for me, I’ll definitely get one 😊
I’ve had this monitor for about a year now, I’ve like super satisfied with it and my hunt for an endgame monitor is finally complete for now.
I’m looking into purchasing a 32 inch OLED monitor for gaming and movies.
Which monitor would you choose? and why?
asus and msi are just resellers.. samsung actually produces panels
Samsung and asus because I've used asus and currently using a samsung monitor. Msi Idk but honestly it also depends what you like the most and what will look nice for you.
The cheapest and the best support locally.
Yes I remember my rear protection 65 ’ inch HD back in 96 and it was 3400 dollars back then and when I sold my house I left it there
I found that Rtings has very comprehensive coverage of monitors.
Looking to get a 27” 1440p 1ms >120Hz
I have 1 x PG279Q and 2 x PG279QE (newer version). IPS panels, 165hz, 1440p. Absolutely stunning displays, I've never seen better.
ASUS has yet to disappoint me! But you do pay a premium...
thats what i got. I have the 4K version too. I love them so far and to me they are quite durable. both my monitors have traveled abroad twice with me. Visuals are stunning.
Should I go for LED or are LCD alright
Same thing. If a monitor is called LED it just means LED-backlit. It’s still a LCD panel.
Iirc, LCD has foggy blacks.
Id go for LED
This question, im not too sure.
My old pre built had an Asus motherboard and PSU and the thing lasted 9 years of thousands of hours without missing a beat. Led me to buy the Asus 1440p VG27A. Picture is incredible and looks sleek as hell.
Because of this I bought for my custom build an Asus MOBO again and again I was not disappointed. They have been flawless for me.
Have the portable 17” monitor. 1080p 240hz. It looks great. Travel with it and seems durable.
I've owned 2 so far. My first one is about 7 years old and I have zero issues with both. Will likely continue to buy Asus monitors in the future unless I get a great deal on something else.

PS: I was sent this sample unit by ASUS and have been testing it extensively for a about a week
TL;DR: X32UCWMG
Aesthetics: 8.5/10
True Black Glossy WOLED Panel: 10/10
Text Clarity: 9/10
Motion Clarity: 10/10
I work in IT and I am also a content creator. I not only use my computer for work utilizing excel and Word among other IT related programs. But I also edit my own videos on my PC with Premiere as well. I play a large variety of games, everything from JRPGS, MOBAs, Third Person Shooters, Immersive Sims, FPS, Platformers and more! And one of my favorite games ever that I have been playing for the past 10 years is Overwatch which I have 2K+ hours and have peaked at high masters in competitive mode. The monitor feels like it is targeted toward people that want the absolute Best-looking OLED possible with a very bright image and perfect glossy black levels. But is also willing to take the small hit of less punchy colors compared to what you would find on a QD-OLED.

4K WOLED: XG32UCWMG
4K QD-OLED: PG32UCDM
Aesthetics & Stand: I love the look of Asus monitors and I know some might dislike the gamer look but I adore it. As someone that has had the PG32UCDM for a little more than a year now I very much like the flat stand base found on the CWMG/CWG a lot more vs the “spider legs” on the UCDM. Not only does it make it much easier to slide a mat over or under it also leaves plenty of space for me to put my peripherals on my desk. The Aura Sync lighting also looks great in motion but since I don’t have my monitor back facing a wall, so I don’t keep it on.
True Black Glossy WOLED Panel: At first, I was pretty sad that the colors didn’t pop in the same way they do on a QD-OLED. And out of the box brightness was set at about 80 and it also looked very dim at first when compared to my UCDM. But after turning the brightness to 100 and letting the monitor have a “waking up” period it really came alive. And I am now a firm believer in the need for brighter monitors 1300 nits is amazing especially on an OLED but now I want even more. The real star of the show is obviously the new True Black Glossy WOLED panel which might be one of the most impressive screens I have ever seen even when compared to top-of-the-line televisions. Yes, it picks up reflections easily and you do have to also accommodate to make sure there are no lights blaring onto the screen. But if the setting is perfect in my honest opinion there isn’t a better OLED monitor available on the market. From a pure eye candy perspective this might be the best-looking monitor I have ever seen.
Black levels are so deep it looks like you’re looking into a bottomless abyss and with the full glossy screen pixels almost have this wet like look that makes things in game and also even on wallpaper engine look more lifelike than ever before! I played a lot of Battlefield 6 this past week and it looks absolutely glorious on this display. I would be hard pressed to find a monitor that does a better job of showcasing games like Returnal, Dead Space Remake, Alan Wake 2, Resident Evil 2 Remake (RenoDX Mod) that utilize deep black levels any better then on the XG32UCWMG. This is a very impressive looking display and the hype is real.
Text Clarity: Very close to perfect actually, out of the box I haven’t personally had any issues with it and compared to my QD-OLED it looks a little less sharp but only when I have my face basically pressed against the display. I do use my computer at 4K 100% of the time and scale the UI to 150%-175%.
Motion clarity: The Motion clarity on a high refresh rate OLED like always is awesome in the 240hz mode with amazing response time. At 480hz clarity is actually insane but you are playing in 1080p and even though the motion clarity is the very impressive. I would highly recommend using the aspect control mode setting the monitor at 27” or 24.5 inches because 1080p on a full 32 inch display is not the prettiest to say the least.
Yes it doesn’t have DP 2.1 but this is truly the best OLED monitor you can get right now until TANDEM True Black Glossy releases anyway lol. And if you are looking for a 32” inch display as someone that has personally had the PG32UCDM for the past year or so. I am now in love with the display and am going to get one myself to be my main 16:9 display!
Overall Score: 9.5/10
If you have any questions I will try my best to answer them and I will also do a direct comparison video with the PG32UCDM next week!

Do you know when the Quad HD versions of this monitor will be released?
Thanks for the great review! I’m stuck between this one and the 500hz 1440p QOLED coming out.. please help. I have a 4080 super
If you're in a room that has some ambient light (say a lamp), but not directly facing the monitor, how does the xg32 compare to the pg32ucdm? I get that reflection handling is worst and this will be most noticeable when there's a light source facing the screen, but I'm curious of the difference is more noticeable in a more typical controlled setup with some light to avoid eye strain, but nothing very bright. Or for example, lights off and blinds closed during the day where some light leaks in, but it's not overly bright or direct.
I stream quite a bit and have a large anchoring bright light above my head on when I do. It’s “ambient” and not directly on the screen and I haven’t had any issues at all with the XG32CWMG. Now with blinds that’s a different story even on a QD-OLED you’re going to see them but yeah it’ll be a little more annoying on the XG32 just because of how reflective it is.
I really like your channel and content you produce! Keep up the great work! The “wet” difference you were referring to is the truly glossy coating on the XG vs the PG’s semi-glossy finish. My S90C TV has the same “wet” effect as the QD-OLED TV’s are fully glossy.
I think they are a very close to the same in a dark room the CWMG edging it out by just a little bit. But I very much appreciate that I don’t have to play with all the lights basically off to not get the purple tint that you get with the UCDM.
I had the pg32ucdm, my main disappointment was with HDR. My LG C4 just blew it away but I realize I have to get a 32 in it's just too hard to play a first person shooter on a 42-in screen sitting that close. So this Asus will be a day one by if I can find one.
Im trying to choose between this monitor and qd oled. How much better are colors on QD oled in your experience?
I’d say quite a bit better but as someone that likes a bright OLED, and perfect black levels without having to dim the lights. The higher peak nits and impressive black levels on the CWMG are make it a better a display to me personally.
How easy is it to clean compared to QD-OLED?
Yep but that is just a common WOLED VS QD-OLED thing.
Only buying on Amazon
These are my current options:
SAMSUNG 32 inch UJ59 4k monitor
Any of these look good?
I'm generally partial to the LG line.
I'd stick to the ones that have 144hz, and as low GTG transition as possible (1ms if you can, under 5ms always).
Don't pay extra for a 165hz or better rating, as it's completely worthless.
Also, consider whether or not you like IPS panels or VA panels - you should go to a computer superstore and look at different varieties to see the difference. OLED panels are very very nice but extremely expensive.
4k on even a 32" screen is really not worth it - 2k on 32" to 27" seems to be best, while 4k on bigger ones like 36"+ is good.
And if possible, get a monitor that DOESNT use an external power brick and has it built inn so you're just plugging in a normal computer power cord.
Any recommendations?

I have noticed that a lot of people have been saying that AOC is the best overall, then Dell is the best, then Asus is the best and so on and I am literally lost. I gotta know which monitor brand is the best especially when it comes to stability, less cons etc. So, really, which is it really the best?
Personally, I wanted to find a monitor that's 144hz, 1ms response time and, I don't know, TN Panel. Price doesn't matter as long as it's not over 1000$ or 600$. If you can, tell me any good monitor with the best brand, thanks! Might not be the exact subreddit that asks for monitor purchases. I'm lost
If you’re interested in an ultrawide 34” 1440p monitor with 1ms, 144hz, VA panel, freesync, then look no further! The Dell S3422DWG is an amazing monitor and has many good reviews (including me).
You would think so, I did it at first aswell. Took me a few days to get used to the wide screen but now I can’t see look at 24”/27” screens normally anymore. It also served as a 2 in 1 monitor cause you can just split windows on each side with ample room for them. Imo, better than 2 monitors. Quality for the 34” is great and I think it’s a perfect size for 1440p.
They also list the optimal settings on their reviews as well which I like to use on any new monitors or TVs.
I have multiple Dell units that have over 12 years of use and still function great. I'm not sure if that means anything, but I only buy Dell monitors. I'm not sure who their OEM is.
I dont use gaming monitor and dont know if dell has a gaming monitor but I've exclusively used their ultrasharp lineups for past 15 years. Their exchange program is one of the best. Their QC is shit though
My brother has two Dell UltraSharp 900p.
Great monitors.
FWIW, I recently got this one and LOVE IT. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-s2721dgf-27-gaming-ips-qhd-freesync-and-g-sync-compatible-monitor-with-hdr-displayport-hdmi-accent-grey/6421624.p?skuId=6421624
I have thr 24 inch version of this. It absolutely I'd awesome.
I love my VA panel. To me, it doesn’t seem dim at all and you can change the brightness/contrast/response time if it doesn’t fit your needs. When I watch shows in a dark room, I have no trouble with the lighting. But take my advice with a grain of salt cause I’ve never tried an IPS panel.
This is true. Use rtings.com. It's an excellent resource for monitors and will give you all the information you could possibly want.
look at the viewsonic xg2431. Not sure on the price/availability where you are
1ms response time is almost always advertising. They achieve it by overdriving the pixels, which introduces overshoot, and makes the setting basically unusable. Check sites like rtings and tftcentral to see true response times.
Just got this bad boy in yesterday and it’s a massive upgrade from my last monitor the LG27GR95QE😁, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice beautiful glossy 4k 27 inch QD OLED display!🤓👌🏻🔥
As others have said, I’d love to get one but it’s not in stock ANYWHERE in the US.
Yea they keep selling out that’s how the PG32UCDM was last year also but eventually they got more in stock little by little till everyone could get their hands on one similar story will be with this one! You’ll get one just be patient😌
Currently rocking the PG32UCDP as I wanted to see if I would like 32in over 27 (prior monitors have always been 27in).
However, after a week of using it, I’d like to go to the 27in. Gaming is much better on 27in to me, but I have enjoyed the 32in for work (I work from home).
Really hoping I can score one before my return window is closed , but we’ll see. Now that I’ve had a taste of OLED, Not sure I can go back to IPS lol
Givecit some time bro, PG27AQDP had the same issue
I have had it for almost a week and I am satisfied. I had a PG32UCDM before but it was too big for me, the 27 inch is perfect. In Italy you can find it if you look hard enough.
Is it way sharper than 32? I couldnt decide between 32 and 27. But I prefer picture quality
Yes It is. I have a Mac mini M4 and this is the closest thing to Apple's retina definition.
Io attualmente gioco sul xg27adqm , con una rtx 4080 super rog strix sono dubbioso sul cambio 1440p / 2160p
I want this Monitor so bad but it’s not available ANYWHERE
Congrats! I'm still enjoying my 32UCDM. OLED is amazing.
How huge is the difference to the LG27GR95QE?
best asus gaming monitor
Key Considerations for Choosing the Best ASUS Gaming Monitor:
Refresh Rate: Look for a monitor with a high refresh rate (144Hz or higher) for smoother gameplay, especially in fast-paced games.
Response Time: A low response time (1ms to 3ms) is crucial to minimize motion blur and ghosting during gaming.
Resolution: Higher resolutions (1440p or 4K) provide better image quality. Choose based on your graphics card capabilities and gaming preferences.
Panel Type:
Adaptive Sync Technology: Look for monitors with NVIDIA G-SYNC or AMD FreeSync support to reduce screen tearing and provide a smoother gaming experience.
Size and Curvature: Consider the size of the monitor (27 inches is popular for gaming) and whether a curved screen would enhance your immersion.
Recommendations:
