TL;DR
ASUS Harpe Ace
The ASUS Harpe Ace was mentioned as a top choice for those prioritizing shape and comfort in a gaming mouse [4:0]. While not extensively discussed, it seems to be favored for its ergonomic design. However, the discussion also highlights some dissatisfaction with ASUS's Armory Crate software, which may affect user experience.
Logitech Alternatives
Logitech mice are frequently recommended across discussions for their reliability and performance. The Logitech G502 Lightspeed is particularly praised for its precision, customizable buttons, and adjustable weights, making it versatile for various gaming styles [4:1],
[5:3]. Additionally, the Logitech Superlight series is noted for being lightweight and durable, suitable for FPS games
[2:1],
[2:3].
Razer Options
While some users express concerns about the longevity of Razer products, the Razer Basilisk V2 and V3 receive positive feedback for their comfort and performance [5:1],
[5:2]. These models offer wireless capabilities and programmable buttons, appealing to gamers who prefer flexibility and customization.
Other Notable Mentions
For those seeking budget-friendly options, the Logitech G305 is highlighted as an excellent choice due to its affordability and solid performance [5:7],
[5:8]. Meanwhile, the Pulsar X2 Mini is recommended for its compact size and quality control in limited editions
[5:9].
In conclusion, while the ASUS Harpe Ace stands out for its comfort, exploring other brands like Logitech and Razer might provide additional features and better software support.
My mouse's (Razer Basilisk V3) Middle Click died completely repairing is to much time without mouse or to expensive to buy the Repair Kit from ifixit.
I want to buy a new mouse but without the need to install kernel modules, daemons upon daemons for daemons and so on. I wanted my mouse to be really supported. Like the keyboards are supported by wooting. They provide a linux build of their software or a web interface. Is there a gaming mouse company that provides the same support with the layout of Basilisk V3 (A thumb rest, 2 side buttons, left/right middle mouse movement, optionally a thumb rest button)?
P.S.: Almost every time i saw somebody post this question i saw replies like "lol derp every mouse works". If you wanted to reply in similar manner please go off internet and find someone who will love you.
any logitech
Keychron's new gaming brand, Lemokey, mice support Linux. All the configuration is done through a browser now and they claim Linux support for that utility.
Buy anything with webhid support.
Ducky Feather BW
logitech g502x is pretty good, you just need solaar or piper to fully configure it
So I’m looking to replace my Corsairs Glaive that I’ve had since like 2017 as the scroll wheel button isn’t working anymore and it’s just a matter of time until the rest of it stops. I also have the Corsair K95 keyboard which is also the same age so I might be upgrading that soon now too. I haven’t thought about upgrading til now so I’m looking for any and all recommendations for what to buy. I do like the them matching as it means less software to run but I’m good with having different. I already have the Ghub for my headphones so I’m thinking maybe Logitech if I don’t stick with Corsair
Logitech G502 lightspeed. Best mouse I've ever had.
You can't go wrong with a Logitech Superlight, I've been running it for a while and I definitely recommend it. It is expensive but it's a solid, durable, no BS mouse that's, well, light. It's more designed for shooters and doesn't have a lot of buttons so if you're looking for something with more bells and whistles this is not the one.
Logitech superlight 2 is a really good mouse IMHO. I've used the previous version which is still sold but it has micro usb intead of type-C.
However, I've been using ATK R1 Pro Max and Mad R+ for the last 2 years and I honestly can't find anything that they are missing in terms of performance, durability, weight and battery life.
ATK Mad R+ is half the price of Superlight 2.
You also don't have to install any software. Configuration is done via web interface which every single keyboard/mouse manufacturer should do.
Wondering what everyone considers the best gaming mice at the moment. Razer products never seem to last more than a year for me so I’m not overly interested in their products anymore but feel free to talk about those ones too. Thanks in advance!
My top 5 of 2024 at least as I have 40+ and review mice:
19x10 hands, tilted relaxed claw grip.
Scyrox V6 would have made it if I had bought it last year.
Where would scryox v6 fit on this list ?
Really torn between copping out and putting the scyrox mice together, but the V6 quality is just higher overall than my V8. I’d say it jumps up to 3rd and makes the Beast X Max an honorable mention just due to my shape preferences. It’s top 3 no doubt.
Awesome I’ll take a look, thank you! I’m very reluctant to give any razer mice a try after my last 2 barely lasted a year each
Entirely fair take there haha
I've recently switched to a new gaming mouse and it's been quite durable and responsive, way better than Razer.
Anything EGG, Zowie, Vaxee makes imo
What is EGG if you don’t mind me asking
Endgame Gear
Agreed on Zowie
Huge love for my End Game Gear op1we
Ok, I want to play a game with you.
Imagine having an unlimited budget and being able to buy any mouse. You can only buy one mouse though. Which mouse would you buy? And why?
I start.
I'd be torn between the asus harpe ace (for shape and comfort) and the razer v2 pro. However, I choose the razer because the armory crate software is garbage and because the quality of the razer materials (as well as the sensor) is superior.
It's your turn.
Vaxee XE wireless, as long as I can make sure my copy's buttons are stiff enough I don't accidentally click all the time (or I'm allowed to replace the switches myself under your rules)
How hard are y'all clicking / holding it to get multiple complaints about the click being too light?
I actually love the clicks, other mice just feel too stiff for me now. The shape felt weird to grip at first but I've never misclicked the switches since I got it.
I have an XE wired where the buttons are great.
I happened to get switches on my XE wireless that were noticeably less stiff and led to problems with accidental clicking.
I like not having to "hover" my fingers (i.e., constantly apply muscle tension to not let the weight of my finger relax down onto the button).
Maybe I have fat fingers; maybe you're just used to constantly tensing your hand; maybe your XE didn't have soft switches and it feels like my wired one.
I think latest firmware fixed the "accidental click" issue. I mean if I slap my XE on table it would click itself. Now it's does not, even with my fingers placing on it with 2ms debounce.
Oh, my copy didn't have slam clicking problems. I would just click on accident when trying to move the mouse or if I got distracted/nervous and put a bit too much weight on the switches without realizing.
Switches were just not stiff enough for me on my wireless XE. My wired one has stiffer switches and it's fine. I replaced the switches in my wireless one and it's fine now too.
Xlite V3 mini. If it ever comes out.. and if I get lucky with QC.. Shape/Weight and overall balance fits me perfectly.
I wish more mainstream brands like Razer had mini versions of DaV3pro or GPX though.
Xlite mice really was a superperfect mouse, if it just had better swtiches
They have huano pinks in latest retro editions which feel much better imo, but my copy has terrible body creek and button travel so I switched back to regular xlite v2 mini..
Deathadder v3 because its the most comfortable shape for my hand size
the Logitech G502 - the ultimate gaming mouse!
This bad boy is a game-changer with its precision, customizable buttons, and a scroll wheel that feels like pure magic. Whether you're into FPS, MOBA, or anything in between, the G502's adjustable DPI settings give you the edge you need. The build quality is top-notch, and the design is sleek and ergonomic.
But the real star? The customizable weights! Tailor the mouse to your liking and enjoy that perfect balance. Trust me, once you go G502, you won't want anything else.
Pro-tip: Keep an eye out for sales – this gem is often on promotion, making it an even sweeter deal.
I mainly play fps and moba games, however on occasions I play some RPG and MMO games. So, I'm looking for an all-round mouse that's good for any type of gaming.
I used a Logitech MX anywhere 2 for the past couple of years and I had a decent experience up until I broke the right click BTN.
Here are my preferences but I'm open to try different things.
And, obviously the cheaper the better, but let's assume the budget is unlimited.
Thanks!
My last two mice have been the Razor Basilisk V2 and V3. The best gaming mice I've ever used. I'm not a fan of the RBG but with Razor it looks awesome when toned down. Razor just keeps getting better and better.
I've had a V2 for 3 years now, battery still lasts forever. I have the LED brightness set to 20% which is plenty bright. Absolutely love this mouse, super comfortable for my grip type and my dpi settings. I'll never go back to a wired mouse lol
I'm quite late, but im also left handed. Is the v3 strictly right handed?
G502 lightspeed, it is heavier but has adjustable weights. The mousepad pair you can get makes it absolurtely god tier.
r/MouseReview is going to be able to help you out a bit more but you'll want to figure out what kind of mouse grip you use (palm, fingertip, claw, some weirdo shit) when you ask them.
Pulsar x2 Mini is I think everyone's current favorite smaller mouse
agreed I have a X2 Mini boardzy edition
definitely get one of the limited editions for the better QC. even the Bruce lee version but preferably the others
G pro x super light 1/2 or Hyperx pulse fire haste2 I would say, I use asus m4 air but it wired
Budget? g305. Not budget? Razer viper mini
+1 for g305, i stock up on those mf’s. unbeatable for $30
for real
looking to upgrade my mouse (preferably white in color) was just curious what the best options are right now as ive never kept up with the new mouses. still using a glorious model o. ive heard the viper v2 pro is really good and that caught my eye, any recommendations?
You're right, the Glorious Model O is a great mouse, but there are definitely some exciting new options available, especially if you're looking for a white one! The Razer Viper Ultimate is lightweight, wireless, and comes with a sleek charging dock, making it a great upgrade for gaming.
I would recommend trying the KLIM Blaze Wireless Gaming Mouse. I have tried a lot of the big brands such as the razer viper v2, the g pro wireless and the glorious model o, but everytime I just thought there was no value for money there. The KLIM Blaze has a high level sensor that provides near immediate response times, it's battery life is extremely long and if you are looking for a mouse with great RGB this is the one for you!

With so many options its hard to know which mouse to commit to buying. After using a lot of the Elite level products such as (Razer, Logitech, Glorious) I found myself wanting to try a cheaper option to see how it compared. The KLIM Blaze Pro is a mouse you might not have heard about much, but honestly the quality this product has is incredible. It has one of the best sensors on the market, it's fully wireless and comes with a charging dock and the battery is super long-lasting. If you are on a budget and want something that is still going to improve your performance in game, this is the one for you.
The best gaming mouse I've come across is the one I'm currently using – the Razer Viper V2 Pro. It's insanely lightweight at 59g, has a killer 30K DPI optical sensor, and offers seamless wireless connectivity. The battery life is epic at 90 hours, and I can even tweak the DPI settings on the fly.
Need a new mouse. I’ve had glourious 0 and it broke, gone through 2 of em so I’m done with it. Any recommendation?
I really like DH3 pro tbh. A better superLight imo
Why are asking this in here like cs players are some mouse experts? There are literally subs for gaming mice
Logitech Superlight is the go-to for me.
I don’t care about the money or it’s overpriced or just how expensive it is I just want to know what the best mouse is (for gaming and casual) And if you have a personal favorite please feel free to share it, and yes I understand that it’s usually a preference thing. Edit: I ended up getting the g pro x superlight 2 (mainly due to being biased) but thank you all for the suggestions and if I ever need a new mouse I will go back to this post
Viper v3 or superlight 2 have been the best I've used, I'm not much of a razor fan but I do prefer the viper v3 here, i just prefer the way it glides on the pad, makes it feel super responsive, for gaming obviously.
Same, love my v2 pro. (Also not a razer fan).
We have 2 viper V3s we carry to and use at work. They're light, glide smoothly without being too smooth, don't look like gamer rainbow puke, not wierdly sized or shaped, and batteries last a while.
Personal preference, for gaming my favorite is the G502. Used it for years before replacing to a newer version of it.
For work its the G305 because its cheap and wireless and if it breaks a few years later, i can get another one.
One of the best most comfortable mice I've used. I love mine, especially being able to change the weight. Super handy when working on design to switch the resolution on the fly.
I will always recommend this. I'm so accustomed to it now that I couldn't use anything else. I love that they keep updating it so it's always easy to get a replacement if need be
I’ve used the G305 for gaming for like 5 years lol that lil guy is durable and extremely light. Love it.
Honestly this, if you're not a big mouse macro user, this is a great mouse.
Has super long battery, wireless and just overall a very comfortable mouse for hours of productivity or gaming imo.
I've had mine for years and will probably buy a new one soon.
I’ve read reviews and posts saying how it’s the best…
…but I have several major problems with this mouse.
First, the polling rate is low, which makes the mouse feel unresponsive if you’re using a high refresh rate monitor (just talking about general movement).
Second, if on Bluetooth… also feels unresponsive, but with a subtle amount of latency.
Finally, I’ve owned two of these. Both broke within a month after the 1 year warranty expired, and Logitech wouldn’t make any exception.
I love this mouse's feature set but man have I also had some issues. The low polling rate is already a bit of a drag (I should really get a separate gaming mouse), but I have what I assume are connectivity issues where sometimes the effective polling rate drops to like 10 Hz. I've also had a 2S and a 3S both break on me.
SHAPE IS KING
Don't go here, go to r/mousereview
People in the mouse review subreddit are actively buying and testing all the new releases, measure their hand size and know how to articulate their actual preferences for why certain mice work for them so they can give people reading their reviews a better understanding if that mouse will also work for them (and still, shape is subjective)
You can also compare the basic profile of shapes over at eloshapes.com
Note: this advice mostly applies to FPS focused mice, but many of them still try out more work focused productivity/ergo style mice for work.
I think the best part about this mouse is how quiet the clicks are. I use it for work and it’s just fantastic.
On the other hand, my Lamzu Thorn has insanely loud clicks, probably because it’s really hollow.
First off, Asus did send me this mouse a couple months back to review, and I wanted to take my time reviewing this mouse. So this is a longer-term review than I normally do. The mouse has an MSRP of $159, and below are the specs of the mouse.
Shape: The two mice that best compared to the ROG Keris II Ace shape-wise are the Pwnage Stormbreaker and the newly released Razer Deathadder V3 Hyperspeed. It's an ergo-type shape, and at 54g it has a similar weight to the two above mice I mentioned which weighs only slightly less at 53g for the Stormbeaker and 51g for the DAV3 Hyperspeed. It's a medium size, so it should work well for most people. Weight balancing is also excellant! If you have larger hands then you might want to look at the DAV3 Pro or Waizowl OGM Pro v2. If you are on a budget and have large hands, the Deluxe M900 is a decent large ergo mouse.
Skates: The skates that come with the mouse are grey in color and they are actually pretty good for stock skates. I currently have corner skates instead but you can install larger style skates if you like, or you can also pop on your favorite dot skates for a tiny bit of weight savings. The edges are rounded and work well on glass pads also. All in all, I am pleased with the skates.
Coating: Asus has touted the coating as an echo friendly coating that has a rougher surface feel similar to the Razer DAV3 Pro. There are also these ridge lines on the sides which do increase your grip, but I find them not very comfortable. I honestly am not a fan of this style of coating. I prefer a smooth rubberized coating like what they have on the Razer Viper V3 Pro or Waizowl OGM Pro V2.
Build Quality & QC: The build quality on this mouse is very impressive, and it is sturdy as a tank! No flexing, or rattling. Everything works flawlessly which should be the case on a $160 mouse, and the quality has held up after 3 months of use. I have zero complaints here!
Clicks & Scroll Wheel: The mouse uses their own brand of optical switches which are very clicky and spammable. The clicks sound really nice for optical switches and they have not become mushy over time like some optical switches do. The side buttons are in a good position, and there is little to no pre and post-travel on the side buttons and main clicks. The scroll wheel has a nice textured rubber ring around it, and it makes little to no noise. The wheel is way down in the shell and barely sticks out. Some people might like that, but I wish it was raised up as little. It did not bother me in game so it is more of a nit-pick for me. The scroll wheel is also very light to actuate and spam.
Performance: My in-game performance was top-notch with the Keris, so it did not disappoint there. I also found it to be a very good productivity mouse also, which some gaming mice are not so great for those type of tasks. The wireless tech in this mouse is extremely good, and you can tell Asus spent a lot of time fine-tuning it. I left it running at 4K polling the majority of the time I tested it, and the sensor tracking was super smooth and accurate. Battery life was also pretty good even running at 4K polling. It's rated for 107 hours at 1K polling. I usually got 5 solid evenings of gaming before having to plug it in to charge. While it did not test the latency of the mouse it felt right up there with the best. As a side note, there is an extra adapter that you should be sure to use as it greatly improves wireless performance.
Software: Asus of course uses Armory Crate for their software, which a lot of people seem to loathe. I have been using Asus motherboards since the 90s, and I admit when Armory Crate first came out, it was a hot mess! The software has gotten better over time, and I think with some software once it has a negative reputation it is hard to overcome that. Also, there is an Armory Crate Lite version of the software that is a much better option to use if the mouse is the only Asus product you use. However, even if you hate the software you can set most options without software using the manual much like an Xtrfy mouse. So really they have options for however you want to configure your mouse.
Conclusion: Overall I think Asus did a pretty good job with the ROG Keris II ACE, and I am looking forward what future mice they are working on like the upcoming ROG Harpe ACE Extreme for example. While Asus might not come to mind when thinking of mice, they have been working hard it seems to produce some compelling mice recently. This mouse certainly is not cheap, but it is priced in the range of other comparable flagship mice. If you are a fan of the EC2 shape, this mouse is a solid option. If you like that shape but want a magnesium shell you might want to check out the Pwnage Stormbraker, and maybe the new upcoming BeastX Ergo mouse. The new Razer Deathadder V3 Hyperspeed that just came out is nearly on par with this mouse and a good bit less expensive. I do feel the tech in the Asus mouse is slightly better, but that is really splitting hairs. The Razer mouse at $99 is $60 less expensive, so depending on your budget you need to consider your options. Also, if you already don't own a Razer 8K dongle, you will have to pay $30 for one bringing the total price up to $129. I love both mice, so you can't go wrong with either one if money is not an issue. I enjoyed my time with this mouse, and I look forward to testing future Asus mice out. (Edit: The mouse is also similar to the Pulsar Xlite V3 and Lamzu Thorn)
Looks like the same shape as the Lamzu Thorn and Puslar Xlite.
Edit: Looks like they are all based on the Zowie EC2
The lamzu thorn is a vastly different shape than the Xlite, the EC2, etc. Feels way different in the hand and IS way different in shape.
Sadly there's only a small list of ergos that aren't based on the EC2
How much does ASUS pay for Reddit reviews? I haven’t seen one in a while
I have never been paid for a review ever, and that is going all the back to 1995. It is illegal to review a product you were to do so without disclosing it in the USA. It actually would be labeled a paid promotion if that were the case. Feel free to report it to the proper authorities. I have ZERO fear of an audit.
I appreciate the honesty. Quite frankly the reason I even made that statement was because some of those comments sounded a little optimistic. Armory Crate is literally non functional. Like you, I’ve always used ASUS components and with it the software. I opened it again yesterday just to check and it’s still broken as ever.

Asus mice are good, but their software is garbage. It doesn't even work at all when I was using my Impact 2
Armory Crate Gear is a lightweight version and is very good
You know that it doesn't support that old impact 2, right?
Just received my Keris wireless aimpoint that I got on sale on Amazon and I’m actually astounded by the performance of Asus’ mice these days. They seem to have a better sensor than most mice (probably no noticeable difference) but also seem to have great latency, clicks and overall performance. They’ve also managed to achieve low weight with the harpe ace. I think asus might start to become much bigger players in the market if they can work out how to shape a mouse a bit better as well as make other mice similar weight go the harpe ace. I wanted to know what people thought of the recent asus mice as I personally am extremely impressed with what they’re doing at the moment.
I bought the harp ace, I really enjoyed the mouse, has a great shape but the mouse material is not comfortable for my hands so had to use grips on the mouse. I absolutely love it, it is my second go-to besides my dav3pro which I currently main. The only issue most people would have with the mice is the armory crate but don't need it unless you do some crazy dpi.
I loved loved loved my wireless keris (the one with the two different plastics) but armoury crate was so horrible that I switched back to Logitech, because g hub is horrible but better
The Aimpoint mice and also the Harpe might be the best performing 1kHz mice on the market and outperform some 4kHz mice as well.
The shapes are not as good I think, but not bad and I appreciate that they are trying to create their own shapes (they used to copy more).
Armoury Crate is quite resource intensive and hard to uninstall. This is the biggest negative in my eyes.
I can see them gaining market share in the future. I wish they released a tool like Logitech OMM for people who just want to turn off RGB and set DPI etc.
Yeah new software would be beautiful
Good mice, too bad armory crate acts like an actual virus sometimes
I have a wired Keris and though it's not my main, Asus knows what it's doing. Their mice hardware is great, shapes can be a bit odd for some but there is no excuse for Armoury Crate. Every time I see some deal on the Harpe Ace, I am tempted but drop my purchase because of that software.
Armoury Crate is no better than most of the software out there. The Corsair iCue is horrendous as well. I've had to uninstall and reinstall it quite a few times. Because my headphones wouldn't work.
And while I don't necessarily like AC. After using it for some time. It doesn't totally suck.
Brother the software is so shit hopefully they sort it out
Not to mention it fucked up my high score run on kovaaks cos of its terrible installation process
bro dont listen to that. it is a bot repeating same thing everywhere
best asus gaming mouse
Key Considerations for Choosing the Best ASUS Gaming Mouse:
Sensor Type: Look for a mouse with a high-quality optical or laser sensor. A DPI (dots per inch) range of 200 to 16,000 is common in gaming mice, allowing for precise tracking.
Ergonomics: Choose a mouse that fits comfortably in your hand, especially for long gaming sessions. Consider grip styles (palm, claw, fingertip) when selecting.
Customization: Many ASUS gaming mice come with customizable buttons and RGB lighting. Look for software that allows you to program macros and adjust settings.
Weight and Build Quality: A lightweight mouse (around 80-100 grams) can enhance speed and agility, while a sturdier build can provide durability.
Wired vs. Wireless: Decide if you prefer the freedom of wireless or the reliability of a wired connection. Wireless options have improved significantly in terms of latency.
Recommendations:
ASUS ROG Gladius III: This mouse features a high-performance optical sensor with up to 19,000 DPI, customizable buttons, and a comfortable ergonomic design. It’s great for FPS gamers due to its precision and responsiveness.
ASUS ROG Spatha X: If you prefer a wireless option, the Spatha X offers a versatile design with customizable buttons, RGB lighting, and a solid battery life. It’s ideal for MMO gamers due to its extensive button layout.
ASUS TUF Gaming M4 Air: For a budget-friendly option, this mouse is lightweight, has a solid sensor, and offers good performance without breaking the bank.
Takeaway: The best ASUS gaming mouse for you will depend on your gaming style and preferences. Consider trying out different models to find the one that feels best in your hand.
