TL;DR For dark skin tones, consider shades like berry, purple, wine, coral, and orange. Brands such as Juvia's Place, NARS, Rare Beauty, and Fenty offer great options.
Color Recommendations
When choosing a blush for dark skin tones, certain colors tend to be more flattering. Berry, purple, wine, coral, and orange are often recommended because they provide a vibrant pop of color that complements darker complexions [1:1]. Shades like deep berry and corals can also be very flattering
[3:2].
Powder and Cream/Liquid Blushes
For powder blushes, Juvia's Place is highly recommended due to its affordability and pigmentation [1:1]
[3:1]. NARS offers several popular shades such as Taj Mahal, Dolce Vita, and Exhibit A, which are well-suited for darker skin tones
[1:1]
[2:7]. For cream or liquid blushes, Rare Beauty is praised for its wide range of shades that work well on dark skin
[2:2]

[3:5].
liquid and regular pls.
Juvias place now has a new liquid blush collection and the crayon case by supa also has a line of blushes perfect for all shades of dark skin
Nars Orgasm is a popular shade for brown skin. Depending on your undertones, oranges, deep berry, and corals are good shades.
Second the nyx cream blushes for a cheap go to. Someone made a comment about the nyx cream blush fading but I don't really notice. Usually, I don't wear makeup for long term performance. I just like to feel juzzhed up a little so if it fades I don't mind. But if I do want a little more staying and star power I do my nyx sweet cheek im almost famous ( a warm orange-red blush), followed by Fenty beauty kilowatt Moscow mule highlighter with some urban decay all nighter spray.
Mac ambering rose Mac raisin Nars dolce vita Fenty creme blush rose late or daiquiri dip
I'll start with colors. Berry, purple, wine, coral and orange always look stunning on dark skin. Reds and pinks also look good, but it'll depend so much on undertone!
For powder: Juvia's place blush duo is my favorite. They're affordable and pigmented. The Sephora collection blushes are also really great when you find a shade. I love Nars blushes, specially Taj Mahal, Dolce Vita, Dominate and Aroused.
Cream/Liquid blushes are my personal favorite. Rare Beauty blushes are my favorite. Honestly, most of the shades work great on medium to deep skintones. I personally love Believe and Encourage (these pull really similar though so don't buy both), Happy, Lucky, Joy, Grateful, and Faith. Saie Beauty in Chili and Spicy are gorgeous. Glossier Cloud Paint lasts forever. I have Storm and it's the perfect berry color. On the cheaper end, Milani, NYX, and Colourpop make great liquid/cream blushes. They don't have the best wear time, but I think they're great for what they do! I love Colourpop for trying colors I'm hesitant about without committing to a huge cost. A lot of Colourpop products can double as an eyeshadow if they don't work out.
Blushes shouldn't be that difficult to put on but yet the one I bought from Walmart is too LIGHT on my face... I thought it would be just a simple pink blush but I guess I have to get colors that are at least darker to fit my skin tone. Like the different shades of red, for example. I wish I could give the product name but I threw away the box so I can't really provide the brand name :/) there's not that much variety of blushes to buy at Walmart are there any cheaper ones that I can buy in cheaper stores? Should I order my makeup product on amazon?
edit: THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS!
I'm learning about darker skin tones since I want to be a makeup artist one day. I've heard Rare Beauty blushes are very dark skin friendly and they have a very wide range of shades.
So are those liquid blushes from Colourpop. I was a little shook by the pigment. I LOVE the Rare Beauty blushes
If you’re open to cream blush, your fave lipsticks can be worn on cheek and lip!
Fenty, Uoma, BLK OPL, Juvia’s Place all have good options.
-Maybelline fit me blushes have a pretty good range
-The Milani cheek kiss blush in merlot moment and blushing berry are pretty on darker skin
-Juvias place blush duo (they sometimes have 50% off on website)
thank you!!!!
I use the Elf blush palette in dark. I’ve seen it in walmart and target. It was 6$ when I got it years ago
Hi OP! 🤗
I am a MAC NC50/Fenty 420/Maybelline Warm Coconut.
I will list the ones that I have and will check as I go along to make sure they are all still available. Very often the toughest Blush Shade to find for Deep/Dark Skin is Brown, so I will list as many of them that I have that are still available.
Warning: This will be a looong List, lol - all Blushes are Matte unless specified.
Black Radiance Artisan Blush in # 8315 Brick House (this is more of a Warm Plum)
Black Radiance Artisan Blush in # 8306 Toasted Almond (muted Terracotta)
Nars Quirimba (it is a Bronzer but I use it for a Blush)
Sephora #6 Ibiza (also a Bronzer that I use for a Blush)

Make Up Forever Artist Face Color # S400 (Medium Deep Reddish Brown)
Make Up Forever Artist Face Color # S118 (Medium Deep Neutral Brown)
Make Up Forever Artist Shadow Color M-600 (Pink Brown)

Ben Nye Powder Rouge - Dark Tech # DDR - 9 (Burnt Orange)
Ben Nye Powder Rouge - Red Brown #DDR - 17 (Red Brown)
Ben Nye Powder Rouge - Chestnut # DDR - 10 (Deep Cool Reddish Brown)
Ben Nye Eyeshadow - Raisin # ER 72 (Deep Brown with slightest touch of Violet, the Violet almost imperceptible)
Ben Nye Eyeshadow - Black Plum # ER - 75 (Very Deep Brownish Purple)
Cover FX Monochromatic Blush Duo in Rich Mulberry (the Blush is more like a Muted Medium Deep Violet)
Beauty Bay UK (they ship to the US) Beauty Bay Bronzer in Oak (Golden Brown)
Beauty Bay UK Blush in Merlot (Very Deep Reddish Purple)
Revolution Beauty (aka Makeup Revolution) Makeup Obsession Violet Palette (Quad) Shades of Orange, Medium Pink w/ Gold overspray, Fuschia, Deep Reddish Brown, more Red than Brown)

L'Oreal Paradise Enchanted Scented Blush in Charming (Muted Deep Peach, one of my Favs)
L'Oreal Paradise Enchanted Scented Blush in Fantastical (Another Peach, this one is brighter in colour)
Lorac Buildable Blush in Cinematic (Pium-ish Brown)
Milani Baked Blush in Corallina (Peach with Golden Highlights) this one on my skin is a cross between a Blush and a Highlighter
Milani Baked Blush in Red Vino (warm Magenta with Gold Highlights) I can't find this on their Site but it may be available on Ebay or other Places Online - the next best thing if you cannot find Red Vino is the next one:
Milani Baked Blush in Cherry on Top aka Cherry Baked Blush (this is Deeper and Redder than Red Vino. Don't now why Milani changed the name of the Blush but because of the packaging colour (Red bottomed Case), I am certain Cherry on Top is the same as the listed Cherry Baked Blush on their Site.
Milani Baked Blush in Sunrise Serenita (Satin Orange with Gold Highlights)
Milani Baked Blush in Cocoa Felicita (this is the Deepest of all of the Milani Baked Blushes, it is a Plum Brown matted Satin)
Milani Baked Blush in Sunset Passione (this is a Medium Deep Terracotta matted Satin Blush)
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso (Peach with Gold Highlights) this is only an honorable mention because on my skin it is more a Highlighter than a Blush.
NYX Sweet Cheeks - These came in both Matte and Glow Versions, I have all Matte except for Boom & Bloom in which I got in both versions:
NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush in Fig (Muted Mauve, I love this one)
NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush in Boom & Bloom (Very Deep, Dark Plummy Purple)
NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush in Summer Breeze (Medium Deep Terracotta)
NYX Sweet Cheeks Blush in Totally Chill (A muted Burnt Orange)

Moira Beauty Signature (Ombre) Blush in # 08 Soft Berry (light Mauve to Deeper mauve to Deep Reddish Mauve
Well, that is all that I could find in my Collection that are still available! 🤗
I hope this is helpful, 'cause I know the Struggle, heh.
I'm sure a lot of these could be found on Amazon, Ebay and also on the Company Websites.
Happy Shopping! 🛒🛒🛒🤗
Awesome list! Might I add NARS : Liberté ( my personal fave that I've hit pan on twice); Exhibit A and Torrid
Cool choices!
I will have to check those out! 👍
Thanks! 😀
This list is amazing! Thank you for compiling it.
You are more than welcome!😁
What brand/color blushes do you ladies use with darker skin tone? Which blush color is the best for deep brown/dark skin? I’d like to try one that’s very pigmented.
Any recs? Thanks!
I find orange and red tones more flattering than pinks. As another user said, NARS Exhibit A is stunning.
Thanks lovely🫶🏿🔥
I use glossier cloud paint in the color eve. Sometimes I’ll also just use lipstick as blush 🤷🏿♀️
Rare beauty liquid blush in “love” then I go over it with mac powder brush in “burnt pepper.” You have to be careful with the rare beauty one because it’s VERY pigmented, you just need three dots per cheek then blend it out!
Thanks sis🫶🏿🔥💃🏿
Glossier in Haze! I’ve noticed it’s super pigments and a little goes a long way. Like seriously. Only a small dab at a time or else you’ll end up like Ronald McDonald. I use a safety pin to poke a tiny prick in the foil that covers the lid.
Any blush from Juvia’s Place. Also super affordable!
I convinced my mom to buy me the full size for my birthday and one thing is she doesn't like returning things so if I somehow end up not liking the shade it's done. I can't do anything about it. I don't like pinks and purples. I know people say purplish blushes were made for dark skin but I don't like them. So I was initially very confident about getting the shade "Joy" but now I'm starting to think it might end up looking a bit weird? I have seen some videos where Indian muas recommended that shade but the models were all very fair skinned. And there aren't many videos of dark skinned people trying that shade out. There's this one video where the woman tried on every single shade except Joy 😭. So then I thought of love but I just again kinda don't like it. I know it's red. Or like a deeper version of Joy but still idk. And the last option is grateful which looks bad in the bottle but I think once blended out it will look nice but then again I see many people say red blushes shouldn't even exist. If anyone has dark skin and uses the shade "Joy", let me know so I can be more confident about my choice. Or grateful too. It's Joy vs Grateful. Love is disqualified.
I'm a yapper I'm sorry 😭 This post could have been wayyyy shorter
Hi. I think joy is the coral orange right ?? I am fair medium skinned and I think such colours do look good on me... far more than other mauve blush colours (encourage, hope etc) ...which make me look like i got punched.
Guess the orange does suit some people more than mauve and purples .
Watch some videos comparing purple and orange blushes to get an idea.
Also, if possible, use a similar coloured eyeshadow as a blush to see if the colour works for u .or buy a cheap blush from insight in the similar colour . If it works , get the proper one u want...if not ,not much of a loss.
I had bought a cheap insight purple blush to see if the colour works for me ... and weirdly it did. But that cheap blush worked so well, I decided to keep it and not buy an expensive one just because:)
For some people muted colours work.. for others bright bright ones do.
Shade “Encourage” also works well for darker skin tone
Joy is not a good idea for darker skintones, pulls very orange. Try encourage, spirited or love or grateful. Also get a mini, the mini lasts forever and the full size will probably end up being the only blush you ever wear for the rest of your life
I actually like the idea of an orange blush! I just don't want it to somehow pull pink on me cuz I've seen it does on some people
I completely agree. I wish they had Love in a mini. The only thing stopping me from buying it is the size
I personally have Encourage and Lucky and they both look nice..i too am dark skinned and it really depends how much u use it..u can always tone it down with leftover foundation at the end
Dude honestly just go to the store today You might get an off too
We don't have a store where I live so I have to get it from Sephora online :(
#1 photo is date cake #2 is plum
Sorry for cropping my cheeks but I’ve gotten death threats && harassed on my messages from a fandom so just to be safe 🤦🏽♀️
I’m a neutral tone so they both work rly well for me. I love them!!! Highly recommend. They’re very pigmented toooo which is great. PBJ is a star as well n perfect for my color lip. Five stars && I was excited as it was formulated for darker skin but nervous cuz I don’t usually try newer shades but they look so amazing on pale skin too from all the pics I’ve seen.
you have gorgeous skin!!
Thank u!! I’m not sure why I’m getting downvoted hahah
death threats over makeup??? thats insane and i’m so sorry :/ date cake especially looks gorgeous on you!
Thank you this is very helpful ! I was debating whether I should buy date cake or not
I thought I’d love plum more but I love date cake To be honest they’re super similar. Tho
That’s insane. Makeup is makeup.. May the best products win 🫰
yeah i need both 😭😩
wow the second pic is amazing
they both look so pretty- are there different products on each slide?
What’s the best and long lasting blush on? Yung iba kasi ang bilis mawala sa cheeks lalo na yung mga cream blush??
Meron din kasi iba ang mahal ng price for a blush then hindi naman ganon ka tagal nag la-last sa cheeks. Parang sayang for its price.
So if may mareco kayo na magandang blush please! Hahah much better if hindi ganon kamahal. Hindi ako mayaman hahah need lang para sa everyday use.
ever bilena liquid blush! long lasting so much
The Ever Bilena pillow pop liquid blush topped with the Ever Bilena powder blush, may forever pala
I can recommend blk! Nagamit ko before yung Creamy All-Over Paint nila tapos ngayon gamit ko yung Soft Blur Powder Blush. Both have great longevity—ako mas sanay sa long-lasting na liquid/cream blushes so I was pleasantly surprised na pang whole-day labanan din yung powder blush nila. It lasts 10+ hours on my face—alam ko kasi I still see the pink on my makeup remover wipe 😄 I don't even use any primer or heavy-duty setting spray, just Evian water mist.
I agree with blk’s creamy all-over paint!
Mas okay talaga powder blush compared sa liquid. Kasi mapawisan ka lang sasama na si liquid sa pawis mo tapos hulas na e. What I use is si Careline Powder Blush in shade rosy cheeks. May oil control na rin para di pawisin cheeks mo at mag oily. Mura lang to 133 pesos lang pero ang tagal sa'kin mawala and tagal din maubos.
Affiliate link posted but real user
+++++1 here!!! Ito rin reco ko pati shade haha
Yes ateco lakas maka rosy cheeks eme akala mo talaga natural hahaha fresh as in.
colourette colourtint!! been using mine for 3 yrs now and di pa rin ubos. super sulit bc I use it as a lippie and blush on
how much po range nito? ano po good color for morena girls
Yung regular size, 300 pesos afaik, wait for their sale. Yung mini naman i bought mine for 99 pesos lang. Pero swear super tipid nya gamitin, one dot lang for each cheek ginagawa ko, sobrang pigmented na nya.
Im a morena too, I recommend Ava and Emma :)
Super agreeeee
Chuchu Beauty Heart Duo Blush
Hello, I have sand/cinnamon colored skin and I would like to know how these blushes look on this/similar skin type. I only see examples on light skin and not dark skin, I can't imagine the result it would give on me. I'm just afraid that the color won't stand out on my skin and won't give a nude look like I see on light skin.
i have both of these blushes in the shades you posted and they show up on me! though they def require a couple applications. for reference i wear shade 23-25 in kbeauty cushions
I have five Flower Knows powder blushes.
The darkest shade from Strawberry Rococo (original) Two from Moonlight Mermaid Two from Strawberry Rococo expansion
I am fair-light skinned and some of them barely show up on me. With the exception of the Strawberry Rococo expansion release, most of their blushes follow the Chinese beauty trend of being barely there.
Unfortunately, I don't recommend this brand's blush for anyone with medium or deep skin tones. The Chinese style in the past tended to use blush as a brightener rather than a pigment. They intentionally go for a white cast which can look chalky even on me.
They're beautiful, but not as useful in western makeup styles.
Agreed! I love them, but I'm super pale. If it barely shows up on me, it's not going to show up at all on darker skin. 😭
I have personally one blush of the Butterfly Cloud collar collection (color n⁰3) and I find the pigment ok 🤔, It’s not a color too aggressive when I apply on my skin (bc I m scared to look like a clown).
I haven't tried any of the newer collections, so perhaps they've increased the pigment payoff.
if you look on flower know official instagram, website or just google you‘ll find more pictures. flower knows usually always has a dark skinned model, maybe that will help you. :3
Thank you very much 🙏, I had the reflex to search on Google and not on Instagram. When I did my search I found nothing but on Instagram yes, I can visualize a little better.
I have the strawberry Cupid cream blush #2 and it looks pastel on my fingers but looks surprisingly deep on my medium skin. Maybe looking into that line might help ?
I heard that blush is necessary for us because we lack redness in our skin to look put together. Maybe it because I’m over 30 but when I put blush I feel like a clown. I need to mute it down. I think the best blush for me is barely there in berry shade. Do you guys have this too?
I think you need to go with shades that are super cool and muted. Like purpoe blushes. Have you tried Fenty cream blush in Cool Berry or Hourglass Mood Exposure?
I use the Jones Road bronzer in dusty rose as my blush. Have to use a light hand and tap off any excess because it can be very pigmented. Maybe something muted like that will work better for you! I don’t like anything bright either, it makes me feel like I’m playing dress-up lol.
Yep, muted blush that’s almost there but it makes a difference !
Only when wearing foundation not a sheer bb crème do I need blush. Color, amount, and placement is key for blush to not have a clown effect. If you’ve tried different placements and build up the amount lightly then you’re using the wrong shade or product (powder vs liquid) for you. Or it doesn’t suit the rest of the makeup look. A cool blush with warm lips and base is gonna look off.
Purplely blushes are great for us imo. I have a lavender one that adds just a touch of color and brightens my face.
I will warn that they are really pigmented so you have to be light handed in applying but they sheer out beautifully!
I’ve never cared for blush before aesthetically but given its recent resurgence decided to give it a try. I’m extremely muted and pale so most colors of any sort look clownish on me, but Phytosurgence Condensate was an absolute game changer for me. Now I have a bunch of other Phytosurgence blushes: Exothermic, Fume, Evaporate, and also Dust which I don’t wear on its own but use to mute down other colors (it’s just grey).
Seconding Phytosurgence! I’m cool and muted, and Condensate and Wisp are both natural-looking everyday blushes on me.
Sadly Wisp was a touch too bright and cool on me since I’m extremely muted and have cool undertones but warm overtones
yeah i get that, finding the right shade really can change how u feel about blush, sounds like those muted tones work perfectly for keeping it soft n natural
Third Phytosurgence. Would also recommend Steam for muted fair olives that lean warm or neutral; Fume can be too saturated and Condensate can be too cool.
I do, too! It’s a perfect shade for my neutral skin
You really can’t mess up with a very light purple shade as it’s lightly pigmented. If you aren’t as advanced in makeup shy away from highly pigmented or bright blushes. Also blush goes higher than you think and isn’t intuitive. If you use a liquid blush applying setting powder over it will diffuse it slightly making it more wearable. A small amount on the cheekbones blended up towards the temples. Don’t apply more in than the outer corner of the eye.
best blush for dark skin tone
Key Considerations for Choosing Blush for Dark Skin Tones:
Color Selection: Opt for rich, vibrant colors that complement deeper skin tones. Shades like berry, plum, deep coral, and warm terracotta work beautifully.
Finish: Consider the finish of the blush. Matte finishes can provide a natural look, while shimmery or satin finishes can add a glow. Choose based on your desired look.
Pigmentation: Look for highly pigmented formulas that deliver color payoff with minimal application. This ensures the blush shows up well on darker skin.
Formulation: Cream blushes can provide a dewy finish and blend seamlessly into the skin, while powder blushes offer a more matte finish. Choose based on your skin type and preference.
Brand Recommendations: Some brands are known for their inclusive ranges and high-quality products. Look for brands like Fenty Beauty, NARS, and MAC, which offer a variety of shades suitable for dark skin tones.
Recommendations:
Choosing the right blush can enhance your natural beauty, so don't hesitate to experiment with different shades and finishes to find what works best for you!
