TL;DR
Budget Considerations
When choosing an electric guitar, your budget plays a significant role. For beginners with a limited budget, some users suggest saving up to ensure you can purchase both a quality guitar and an amplifier [4:6]. However, others argue that for starting out, any guitar will suffice as long as it gets you playing and learning
[4:5].
Popular Beginner Options
The Yamaha Pacifica is frequently recommended for beginners due to its versatility and affordability [4:4],
[4:7]. Another suggestion is Newen guitars, an Argentinean brand known for offering good value for money
[4:2]. These guitars are suitable for various music styles, and trying them out at a store can help you determine if they fit your preferences.
Playing Style and Pickup Configuration
Your preferred music genre can influence the type of electric guitar you should choose. Different pickup configurations, such as single coil or humbucker (HH, HSS), offer distinct sound qualities suited for genres like metal, blues, or rock [4:1]. It's important to consider what kind of music you want to play when selecting a guitar.
Advanced Player Considerations
For more experienced players, the choice of guitar may depend on specific features or the unique sound you're aiming for. Some players might prioritize guitars that excel in certain techniques, such as those that utilize the whammy bar effectively [3:5]. In this case, exploring brands and models that cater to your technical needs is advisable.
In summary, whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, understanding your budget, playing style, and desired features will guide you in selecting the best electric guitar for your needs.
Nahhh broad would write a 3 page essay
Bro saw someone glaze Emilia and decided to try to make it to Broad level
Emilia: hm. Arigato. Subaru always say it as well. Hes reeeeeally a good boy.
Sis telling the truth🤍💜
Okay, which one of you gave Subaru internet access?
I have no idea how to use distortion properly but everything else is great
Modest Mouth - Teeth Like God's Shoeshine, Cowboy Dan, Tiny Cities Made of Ashes, hella stuff from the early days was Isaac tweaking a pointy shredder guitar.
Modest Mouth sound like Mike Tysons favorite indie band
Do you thpeak the lingo?
Dude Issac Brock does such cool stuff with the whammy bar.
I’m partial to Dramamine
The entirety of Loveless
And a lot of Blue Rev by Alvvays, especially Pharmacist (in the best possible way)
The one where they remove it before playing.
A lot of surf rock just using it to give chords a little flourish, I like that use. I struggle to think of a recurring riff that uses it well, but the song that comes to mind is Van Halen - Eruption when I think of the whammy bar
My Bloody Valentine - She Found Now is probably my favorite song that heavily uses it
The Ventures comes to mind
The Tornadoes - Beyond the surf
Go for Newen guitars Argentinean brand...............amp is subjective like i love orange20t which i use but my brother likes the Marshall amps. I have not tried the other amps only this two ..... it depends on your playing style and the tone u love u can try out at the guitar store
I would go against the general advice here; go for it.
For starting out, in fact....it does not matter AT ALL which guitar you get. Slash started with a broken-up classical guitar with a single string, for crying out loud
Get this guitar, go crazy. In an year or two if you wanna get another guitar you can look for the options mentioned by the commentors.
He said "he's upgrading to an electric".... And I assume that he will be going for long term use.... This guitar will show its real side in 8-9 months.
Go to the kadence store and try if you like it it's good but it on basis of just the average quality it would not be good
Buy a yamaha if you can get that
I have one and it is great
Wait a while , save up atleast 20k. Min 15k for a guitar and rest for the amp
Also what do you like to play more, metal blues rock and roll, so that you can go with single coil and humbucker pickup settings - HH HSS etc
10/10
Que temas usas para los colores azules en el explorer? sin el blur....
I agree with this. I saw a multi-scale 7 string evertune that they made in this dark emerald color and I would stab my firstborn in the heart with full eye contact to own one but alas I am a peasant
Yep. Anyone that has spent time with an Aristides would say the same thing. They really are a cut above anything else you can buy.
I have 2 aristides one of them 7 string headless, and they both keep giving me trouble with the electronics, can not recommend for the insane price tbh
An Ibanez M80M. Yeah, that’s an 8 string. Just do it. You know you want to.
If only it had a neck pickup
Blasphemy!
Coincidentally, there's someone selling one with Fluence Moderns over on Reverb: https://reverb.com/item/92277827-ibanez-m80m-wk-meshuggah-signature-8-string-w-upgrades-fishman
I have no need for a neck pickup!! Lol
I had a valravn 7 string. Unfortunately the travel from Ukraine, messed up the truss rod... It was a amazing guitar, the dirtthaller pickups were awesome too. I ended up with a nice schecter, but I'm going to gravitate towards a baritone 6 string I think, now.
Wow what is that? That looks freaking amazing & the finish is sick! Not sure what the best of the best is but that guitar looks like it’s up there! I honestly I couldn’t pick a favorite guitar because there are too many that I love.
It's a brand called Valvarn that I follow on Instagram, I've never played one but they have some wild looking builds and stunning tops and fretboards IMO. I would love to own one someday
They built me a custom 7 string a couple years back. The build quality is outstanding and relatively cheap for a full custom shop guitar.
I was going to say Majesty 7 or JP15 7 string, there is so much guitar, despite the price, they are worth every penny
Hi everyone,
I’m really interested in learning electric guitar, especially getting to the level where I can play solos and focus on lead guitar. The thing is, right now I only have a classical guitar at home. I don’t want to commit to a big expense on an electric guitar just yet, until I know that I can actually make progress and stick with it.
My question is: is it possible to start learning the basics of soloing and lead guitar on a classical guitar? Or would I be developing bad habits and wasting time until I get an electric? My idea is to practice on the classical for now, and if I see that I’m improving and really enjoying it, then I’ll know it’s worth investing in an electric guitar.
Has anyone here tried something similar? Any advice would be really appreciated!
I mean it’s not the gonna sound the same but if it’s got 6 strings you’ll be practicing the same shapes and strumming:
Accidental colon
“Accidental Colon” sounds like the name of a stoner metal band
Basically yeah. There’s a few extended techniques that you won’t be able to do, certain bends are kind of tricky but in general you can.
Any bend is tricky with nylon strings.
You can but the two problems you'll run into are (i) you won't be able to reach the upper frets and (ii) the bends won't work properly.
you will have to convert all bends to slides.
Yes, yes you can. My first couple guitars were classical guitars.
Most guitar skills are transferable. You can absolutely learn a bunch of relevant skills on classical guitar. But bending is gonna suck ‘cause if you’re using nylon strings they’ll go out of tune quick, and it doesn’t sound as good. So no, you can’t learn electric guitar solos 1:1, but you can definitely still get pretty far with slides, hammer-ons and pull-offs. I also think that chords on a classical guitar are harder than they could be
Theres loads of cheap electrical guitars out there. Also, I think electrics are vastly different to play, with classical guitars having wider necks. If you wanna play pop/rock/blues, get a guitar with a regular neck. I got a classical guitar when I started playing, and it wasn’t worth it, ‘cause I didn’t wanna play classical music. That’s just my take though
For me:
Best Vocals: Beyond the Wheel or Limo Wreck
Best Lyrics: Black Hole Sun
Best Riff: 4th of July
Best Vocals: Slaves & Bulldozers
Best Lyrics: Fell on Black Days
Best Riff: Loud Love
NOW I KNOW WHY YOU BEEN SHAKIN!
Good lyrics but my god his use of “whomsoever” really annoys me lol.
Vocals: Outshined or The Day I Tried To Live Riff: Kickstand or Spoonman Lyrics: Burden In My Hand or The Day I Tried To Live
I wanna honorably mention “boot camp” for best groove/feel
Best bass: The Day I Tried To Live
Best boobs too
I've been deciding which of these two guitars to buy. Both are inspired by Les Paul Customs, and I’d like to hear your thoughts.
SX EH3BK Deluxe Les Paul Style Electric Guitar
Do you have specs for comparison? But I’ll be leaning more to the SX for the wood alone. May mga na encounter akong jcraft na ang cheap ng kahoy for my liking. Masyadong malambot yung kahoy.
