TL;DR Use oil-based removers, micellar water, or specific cleansing balms for effective eyelash glue removal.
Oil-Based Removers
Oil-based products are frequently recommended for removing stubborn eyelash glue. Coconut oil is a popular choice and can be applied with a Q-tip along the lash line to gently dissolve the glue [4:2],
[5:1]. Other oils like rose hip oil and jojoba oil have also been mentioned as effective options
[4:12].
Micellar Water
Micellar water is another highly recommended option for removing eyelash glue. Garnier's micellar water, particularly the waterproof version in the blue bottle, has been praised for its ability to remove tough makeup without harsh scrubbing [1:7],
[4:9]. It can be used on a cotton pad and held against the eyelid for a few seconds before wiping away
[1:5].
Cleansing Balms
Cleansing balms are favored for their gentle yet effective makeup removal properties. The Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm is noted for its ability to break down makeup when massaged into the skin before rinsing [2:1]. The Beauty of Joseon Radiance Balm is another balm that users have found effective for removing eyelash glue and other makeup residues
[3:1].
Cold Cream and Vaseline
For those looking for alternatives, cold cream followed by washing with sensitive skin soap can remove stubborn glue [4:4]. Vaseline is also suggested as an option, although it may require manual picking to fully remove the glue
[4:6].
Additional Tools
Using tools like metal eyebrow combs to carefully comb out glue residue from lashes can be helpful [5:2]. This method is especially useful for those who find traditional spoolies ineffective
[5:4].
I use an oil based eye makeup remover & it comes right off
Have you tried micellar water? Or an oil cleanser?
i use banila cleansing balm😥
Weird, I use this mascara and the same balm and it removes it super easily.
Well huh, I thought that would have done it. I haven’t bought it yet but I’ve heard good things about it and its ability to remove makeup gently. I would definitely try a micellar water next or an oil makeup remover.
Use the Garnier micelleir water in the blue label and blue cap. It’s specifically for waterproof makeup.
I only use water proof mascaras and it works. I just add some to a cotton square. Let it set on the closed eyes for just a second and the wipe.

This stuff is the GOAT for waterproof mascara and long lasting lipsticks
I use the Nivea remover that has oil in it, it removes the waterproof version!
Garnier Micellar cleaning water in oil it’s a light purple bottle. Put on a cotton pad and hold the pad on your eye for about 10-15 seconds and it should wipe straight off
That's a good drugstore brand. Ive used it a couple times when staying at a friends place.
Oil based is your friend!
Anything else is going to take scrubbing which isn't good for your skin or lashes.
In a pinch any kind of oil works.
How do you remove eye makeup, eyeliner, and mascara without:
Seriously how???
Cleansing oils. They go on oily and wash off with water. You still have to massage them into your lashes, but you don’t have to be brutal.
Oil cleanser!
Micellar water and then double cleanse. I use an oil face wash first and then a cream face wash.
Garnier micellar water all in one, waterproof version. Look for the blue on the clear bottle.
I have a favorite micellar water that I swear by, too. Garnier makes a charcoal micellar jelly that is pretty great, too!
Oh nice I'll look for it!
I swear by the Banilla Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm. The trick is to massage it over the face until it melts completely before adding water. Once you introduce water it quits breaking down the makeup and just dissolves. I follow it up with a cleanser and good to go.
Back from a hiatus (life be crazy but we back) to do some empties review! The pics are when I first got them but trust I’ve just about emptied all these items! Instead of a ranking method I’ll just state if I’d repurchase it or not!
Beauty of Joseon Radiance Balm: 👍🏽 Would Repurchase! The past couple of weeks I’ve been putting on a lot of makeup (talking about full beat… primer, foundation, powders, lashes, mascara, different lip colors and different eyeshadows etc etc). This balm made me feel so CLEAN washing that all off. Most notably the eyelash glue (which I will be reviewing shortly) was so adhesive that this balm really helped make sure the glue was coming off!
KOJI eyelash glue: 👍🏽 Would Repurchase! I’ve been so out of the Asian eyelash glue game, I only ever used typical eyelash glue you’d get from your typical US drug stores, and damn have I been missing out. You know those satisfying videos of people being able to pull off their fake lashes with no problem?… yeah that’s not happening with Koji. Your lashes STAY ON. Which I LOVE. If you use this glue you’d WILL NEED some sort of cleansing oil or balm to get the glue out. But trust when they are on they stay ON.
Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser: 👍🏽 Would Repurchase! This is a nice gentle cleanser with a great lather that I found myself going to! It made my face feel clean and it wasn’t irritating at all!
What a coincidence! Thanks for this useful review 🤩 yesterday I bought my first BOJ cleansing balm. Haven’t tried it yet, though! I’m running out of holika holika soda balm and now my next cleanser is BOJ. I wouldn’t say i did not like Soda balm but it’s a bit pricey and not very convenient to open/close with slimy hands. I was attracted by BOJ BALM’s flip top. I’m glad you like it.
Ohh the BOJ balm is amazing!! I switched to it after d althea and I think im gonna stick with this from now on :) it comes with a little spatula too!
Hello! I used the boj balm too. I woild say it's good to remove makeup eyeliner foundation. Reslly smooth u don't have to rub really hard. No scent. U don't have to warm and rub it in ur balms. The only thing I don't like is how it kinda stings my eyes and after washing it off my skin feels a little raw?
I know what you mean. I had that greasy-eyes feeling when I used liquid cleansing oils. This was the reason why I switched to balms in a jar. As for “the raw skin”…I think I experienced something like that at the beginning only. Then my skin somehow adjusted to that way of cleansing.
The cleansing balm is my holy grail. I love it when taking off full-face makeup or just a sunscreen-only day. I buy mine at Marshall's or TJ Maxx for $16.99. Such a great product.
Sounds like the BoJ green plum is better for dry skin. I have combination oily skin and feel like the cleanser did not clean well enough so I broke out from it eventually.
I have dry skin, and while I thought it was nice and gentle, I agree that it doesn’t feel like it cleans well enough.
That’s a good point which is why I put my skin type last minute! I very rarely get oiley because of my dry skin type and the cleanser has been perfect
I’m using Mixsoon centella right now as I’m combo-oily in the warm months and enjoy it. It has a fluffy texture to it that foams up nicely. Also like skin 1004 centella and the one with tea-tree.
Can confirm the Green Plum cleanser was pleasant to use and has a nice refreshing smell! I have dry combo sensitive skin
FORGOT TO MENTION MY SKIN TYPE:
I got hella dry skin (prone to eczema) but surprisingly also super resilient lol
I work as a performer in a nightclub and wear false lashes every weekend. I now have a permanent line of black lash glue (I use Sephora brand) on my lids and none of my usual removers are doing the trick. I use a combo of neutrogena wipes, Alba Botanical face wash, and rose hip oil. Still left with a thin line of glue after all that. I’d rather not use baby oil, as I have very sensitive skin and mineral oils around my eyes tend to worsen my dark circles. Any products work for y’all? Many thanks!
Put the coconut oil on a q tip and rub gently along the lash line. Should come right off.
I typically use micellar water and it does wonders for even the toughest makeup. One time I was bored and lash glued a bunch of rhinestones to my face and it took everything off. Maybe you could also try a different brand of lash glue?
I’ll try this! It’s a double edged sword though- This glue is the ONLY brand I’ve found that keeps my lashes on for a double show night, but on the back end it does not. come. off.
Tarte’s will keep mine on for literally days if I let it. They have black and clear but I very much prefer clear. Unless you get it everywhere thickly it really doesn’t show on the lash line at all - I don’t even wear eyeliner with the lashes
Could try the DUO black lash glue, it’s a god sent for me and I’m an MUA.
Me too!!!! And jojoba oil!
Cold cream, followed by washing with dove sensitive skin bar soap. Takes off very stubborn eyelash glue, latex or other sticky stuff (glitter)
Yesss glitter is also an issue...many thanks!
Vaseline and then pick it off with your fingers
Garnier micellar water blue bottle with cotton pad. Rub it in circular motion
Coconut oil
I just used this last week to pry off some lash extension that were getting wonky and it worked! If it can maneuver that glue, I'd bet it will work on your lash glue residue! :)
I use the Duo brush on adhesive (one in the green packaging) and it works great except for the part where I have to remove it. I used to have a hard time taking off the actual falsies, but now that I’ve learned how to peel them off, I’m usually left with small strips of sticky residue on my lash line that are tangled into my eyelashes. I’ve tried lash balms, coconut oil, castor oil and they all work so-so. Does anyone have a go to oil or a trick they have? It’s driving me insane.
I comb them out with one of those little metal eyebrow combs! I had the SAME problem and nothing would work without ripping my lashes out. I always forget you can /are supposed to use eyebrow combs on your lashes! I put it real tight under my lash line and just comb the glue out and it gets everything out. It changed the game for me. one like this
Spoolies don’t work for me :(
I dip a q tip in baby oil (1 side dipped in oil, the other side dipped in micellar water) and rub that along my lash line then follow with the micellar water side to remove the oil and lash glue. Works like a charm.
ISO makeup remover for waterproof mascara and eyelash glue. I use neutrogena triple micellar water but it doesn’t remove anything from my eyes, especially mascara, it just kinda drags it across my skin. Anything under $10 would be great!!!! TIA!!!
Thirding this. It even takes off the Sky High waterproof for me which I swear that mascara is like GLUE 😂 Hasn’t bothered my eyes at all either plus leaves my skin smooth
bi-phase micellar water. garnier is affordable. soak cotton pad in product, hold over eye and gently massage. i follow up with a cleansing balm or oil and 2nd cleanse - then regular micellar water as a last step. removes all my waterproof eye products.
ELF makeup melting cleansing balm. Amazing stuff.
Definitely this, such bang for the buck and works amazingly
Absolutely the one
Double cleansing with an oil or balm followed by your regular cleanser. This is the way to truly remove all makeup and sunscreen, which micellar water can't do.
Affordable- ELF, Byoma, Versed are all good options. It may be a little over $10 but they last a good while.
Garnier micellar water w the blue cap. For waterproof mascara you have to hold a well-saturated cotton round to your eye for a few mins
It’s great for mascara and superstay lipstick but it doesn’t really get eyelash glue completely off. I find the ELF cleansing balm works much better for this.
Ponds cold cream w the mint green lid.
I second Pond’s Cold Cream. And, it’s $5!
Yeah tbh a good 2-3 mins lol. It needs to fully soak into the waterproof mascara to break it down
This is the one!
Dip them in oil and leave it for 5 minutes after that use twizer to remove that glue
Try coconut oil
I thought oil could damage the lashs integrity itself? Cause they're also all just stuck together with glue
Hi on a side note can you recommend some lashes that look an enhanced version of natural and can be worn to work on a regular basis. I am pretty much clueless regarding this.
Same here this is the first lash i have ever bought so ive no idea sorryyy🥲
Micellar water/makeup remover - use a little dish to drop em in for a few minutes, then rub the band gently with a fingertip or cotton bud. Rinse.
Oil based cleansers (even Pond's cold cream) is an option, you could use one of those just on the band and then rinse. But actual oil will take soap and rubbing to fully remove after, and might damage the lashes. If there's any oily residue glue won't apply well the next time you try and use them 🤔
What product is this?
milky oil! it’s literally just micellar water. i like it, but you’re better off getting micellar water at the drugstore. you can get WAY more for less!

Really ok thank goodness!!
not to deinfluence if it’s working for you
I got lash clusters today and I tried to take the glue off my eyelid but it won’t come off and it’s been a week
You need a 2 phase makeup remover, the type with the oil floating on top. I like neutrogena oil free make up remover or kiss sells falsecara remover.
Garnier Micellar water, blue cap. Use cotton rounds and Drench it then wipe your lashes up and down
Try Cetaphil oil free make up remover. It’s made with silicone, and even though it claims to be oil free, it is extremely oily, and it will remove anything.
try anything with oil in it, especially like a coconut oil.
but may i know what glue?🙋🏽♀️
I also want to know which glue this is 😂
Girl use eyelash glue remover. If you don’t have it mix olive oil or cooking oil with a little Vaseline along the baseline leave for like 5 mins and starting pulling downwards but holding your eye of course. I hope this helps.
I did it didn’t work but I’m going to try just oil tonight. Thank you for the advicw
