TL;DR
House-Specific Quests and Experiences
Each house in "Hogwarts Legacy" provides players with one exclusive quest that can significantly impact the gameplay experience. Among these, Hufflepuff is frequently highlighted for offering a particularly unique and memorable quest [2:1],
[5:1]. Gryffindor also has a well-regarded quest, though some players find the common room underwhelming
[2:3],
[5:3]. Slytherin allows you to meet main story characters early on, which some players find appealing
[5:4].
Common Rooms and Aesthetics
The aesthetics of each house's common room can influence player satisfaction. Hufflepuff's common room is described as cozy and warm, contributing to its popularity among players [4:2]. Ravenclaw's common room is also appreciated for its design
[4:7]. However, Slytherin's common room does not receive as much praise, despite the house's thematic appeal
[4:5].
Overall Gameplay Impact
While the choice of house affects certain aspects of the game, such as the common room and the exclusive quest, many players feel that the overall impact on gameplay is limited. The differences between houses are primarily aesthetic and narrative rather than mechanical [5:1],
[5:3]. This means that while there are slight variations in experience, the core gameplay remains consistent across houses.
Personal Preferences and Replayability
Ultimately, the best house may depend on personal preferences related to aesthetics, narrative, and alignment with the player's personality or interests. Some players suggest choosing based on personal affinity for the house colors or lore [2:1]. For those interested in replaying the game, trying different houses can offer new perspectives, although the changes are relatively minor
[5:1].
In conclusion, while Hufflepuff seems to be a favorite due to its unique quest, the best house in "Hogwarts Legacy" largely depends on individual player preferences and what they value most in their gaming experience.
Which house will be your be your choice in Hogwarts Legacy?
Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin?
Slytherin. The greatest wizard of all time came from that house
As much as i love slytherine, we are trouble makers sir. The greatesr wizards of all time came from griffindor, dumblee--dor and Harry Plotter.
Merlin, a Slytherin mage, is canonically the greatest, at least in Hogwarts.
Harry Potter was a mediocre wizard that made it on luck and love
Voldemort had powers Dumbledore was too scared to harness
This comment made me laugh so goddamn hard, Thanks.
I’m surprised that many people chose Ravenclaw I thought I would be in the minority lol. Something just feels right for the character I want to make to end up in Ravenclaw.
Hufflepuff because I'm all about friendship and nature, plants, animals. Still kinda tempted to learn Avada Kedavra just to kick the main bad guy in the butt with it.
Which house is yours, OP?
Slytherin, of course ;D
Same here 😆 I really love the befriending and helping beasts aspect of this game, making meaningful friendships, and nurturing plants :) But at the same time...being able to use some Unforgivable spells is an experience I just can't miss. I'm honestly still so shocked and surprised that they implemented the killing curse in the game. And I love it haha
Oooooh nice to see so many Ravenclaws
Blue and bronze wings baby!!
Huffle and a puffle 😂
Hufflepuff all the way!
Absolutely the best common room and the best side quest
I’m Ravenclaw this time around and really looking forward to a replay as Hufflepuff
Each house gets one exclusive quest. I’ve played griffyindor, hufflepuff and ravenclaw- out of all Griffyindor was the best. I have heard good things about Slytherin.
After that—- do you like red, yellow, green or blue? Your house does affect the colors of all the outfit parts you’ll be collecting.
Hufflepuffs are hobbits, and their common room is designed accordingly
Agree that Gryffindor has the best quest. Don’t love the common room, though. It’s the only one that was modeled after the movie, I think, and it’s pretty boring compared to the others.
I was not aware that there are incentives for each house aside from Slytherin.
Idk if they’re incentives. Idk. The hufflepuff and ravenclaw missions are particularly disappointing compared to the reds
As a ravenclaw I might be biased, but there's only one correct house
Lamest characters and Jackdaw mission. Only good thing is the clean common room.
Slytherin had a worse Jackdaw mission, don't @ me
We also get the best house robe from the flying keys quest.
Play as all of them one after the other then tell us which you thought was the best. As others have said there is only one short mission that is different in each of the houses.
You should sign up on wizardingworld.com then take the house test and you will know, that’s the official way
The best house is the house that best fits the students personality and interests. What is a good fit for one student may be a disaster for another student. The sorting hat is pretty good at fitting the house to the student. Although most people think of it the other way around.
Each house is what you make it. There is no "best house". Those in the houses make them who they are.
Totally agree, each house has its own merits and downfalls. It’s up to the wizards in the house to make it the best it can be.
But also, obviously it’s actually Ravenclaw!
Yeah go Ravenclaw
Answered like a true Hufflepuff
I mean we know Hufflepuff is the best but...
This is exactly what I was thinking, except not as a compliment. Sort of a “it’s what’s on the inside that’s important” as a cope said by people who aren’t so great on the outside, implying that those who are attractive are lacking in character, to make themselves feel better.
Yes 👏🏼
Thunderbird. 'Cause I'm in it, and I'm awesome.
Your moms house is my favorite
I've had to re-start the game from the beginning and so I'm trying to decide which house I should go with. I was in Ravenclaw before and am wondering if I should do Ravenclaw again or do a different house. In your opinion, which is the best house to be in in the game (not overall, just in the game itself)?
The Hufflepuff house is just so cosy and warm
Yes! I'm in Gryffindor, but could see all houses now. Hufflepuff was the best. Ravenclaw is also cool.
On the other hand, from all the sweaters and pyjamas we could get on the last holidays, I liked the yellow ones the least.
Since the game spans the 7 years before the books, Slytherin would be canon
Slytherin for ever! but the dorm is definitely not the best imo 😅
absolutely not slytherin, while it is canon slytherin wins the house cup before HP gets to hogwarts, there’s nothing in game that would indicate you are able to actually be a slytherin (ie benefit from snape’s house favoritism, receive praise for doing well in classes and thus benefiting the house, be friends immediately with your fellow housemates like liz, ismelda, barnaby, merula, felix the prefect, etc, choose to not be friends with gryffindors, being forced to idolize hagrid, mcgonagall, dumbledore etc) it ruins the immersion and quite literally any other house is better suited for the do-good attitude of MC and the plot and their friends
To be fair Snape irrationally hates everyone who reminds him of James Potter and in year 3 he openly insults Jacob for having some (non house related) personality similarities with James. So it makes sense he resents the MC for simply being related to Jacob. And Snape doesn’t seem to shy away from giving us house points when he feels that we deserve it
And who the MC idolizes is really the fault of JKR in my opinion, not JC.
To an annoying degree JKR favored Gryffindor in the original novels. You can count the amount of strong + heroic characters who get decent screen time on one hand who aren’t Gryffindors (Snape, Luna, Tonks) and she made the one Slytherin character who falls in this category a total douchebag for most of the series. Fans have even pointed out that in order for Hagrid to of have been in ANY other house but Slytherin causes a lot of plot holes and would rely on unbelievable conveniences to make sense but she still insists he was a Gryffindor
Ravenclaw dorm gets a cozy squashy chair for the cat to sit in.
Starting Hogwarts Legacy soon and was curious which house resulted in the best overall experience (storyline, perks, side quests etc). Would love to hear from ppl who've already put in a few hours into the game. Thanks!
I liked Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. The latter is good, because you don't have a full fledged Ravenclaw companion, so being one yourself, all houses are represented.
So aside from different common rooms and a very few different comments during some quests, the only difference is one quest. If I were to go by that quest, my house rankings would be Hufflepuff > Gryffindor > Ravenclaw > Slytherin.
Other than that, the house choice doesn't matter too much.
Slytherin hands down you get to meet 2 main story characters early which is fun but also who doesn't wanna be a forbidden curse wielding Slytherin?
As a devout Slytherin, I must say Slytherin was a disappointment.
Gryffindor was pretty mediocre too sucks that the 2 main houses represented in the Harry Potter books is the 2 least exciting houses.
The consensus seems to be Hufflepuff because it gives you a visit to a certain place other houses don't get, but I just went with Ravenclaw as it's my most compatible house.
It honestly doesn't make that much difference. It changes one early-game quest quite radically and then the rest of the game plays out more or less the same. Overall I love the game, but my only major criticism of it is that I wish they'd taken the house system further and really made a lot more differences between them. It would give the game more replay value.
Hagrid's House, it has a sloppy puppy, teeth-shattering baking goods and hours of fun chat!
I like the Shrieking Shack too. It's crying out to be turned into a hipster wizard bed and breakfast.
Madam Rosmerta wouldn't like that
Ravenclaw because most people in it aren't idiots.
Only a true Ravenclaw could have thought of that. I applaud you.
I second that
I don’t think there is a “best” house.
Every house has its strengths and weaknesses, and it simply boils down to whatever you value and identify with the most.
I don't know but Helga Hufflepuff was the best founder. She thought the whole "dividing students according to arbitrary criteria" was bullshit and wanted to just teach all the kids indifferently but was unfortunately outnumbered by her dumbass friends.
Hufflepuff are the closest to the kitchen, best access to snacks
What house will you choose in Hogwarts Legacy? I'm personally going with Hufflepuff. I'm about to be the next Cedric Diggory lol.
Gryffindor
Do you know if it changes the story depending on the house of the Wizard?
Could it also change the way he/she acts around the common room or outside?
Haha hufflepuff, can you imagine? I think I’d leave wouldn’t you?
HUFFLEPUFF! 🪄🦡🌵💛🖤
Hufflepuff FTW
It doesnt matter which one is the best, but when u r hungry, u wish u were in hufflepuff.
Hufflepuff. Hands down.
Or maybe Ravenclaw, Hands Down.
HUFFLEPUFF
The best house is whatever one you are in.
Such a wholesome comment. Wouldn't know it came from a Gryffindor if it wasn't flair.
It doesn’t matter, Dumbledore throws out bonus points to Gryffindor willy nilly every year so they win.
The Burrow
McGonagall: “The portrait of Albus Dumbledore would like to say a few words before we hand out the house cup.”
Dumbledore: “370 points to Gryfindor” *falls back to sleep
McGonagall: “Gryfindor Wins... Again. Ha Professor Sna... oh dear.”

After every post with all the common rooms, let's see where we are.
Given that there will be some sort of a test and an optoin to overrule the outcome;
Im just going after my pottermore result and choose Hufflepuff 😅
Same for my house
If there's a way to just let the hat decide, I'll do that first. Though I tend to get Ravenclaw more often than anything else on House quizzes and on Pottermore, so that seems likely to be my first play. I really want to do a Hufflepuff run too though, I like their House colors the best and the common room looks super cozy! If the game is as good as it could be, I'll do a playthrough of all four and mix In both some good and dark wizard runs to get the full experience though.
Itd be really cool if there’s a choice to either take a quiz and determine what house or you get to choose.
Agreed. I think the Sorting Hat should be a little quiz that gives you a House result based on the answers that you give and then you can accept its suggestion or choose not to accept where it wants to place you (similar to Harry talking it into not giving him Slytherin) and manually choose your House at the end of the quiz if you disagree and just want to play a particular House
Ravenclaw all the way!
I wanna try Gryffindor for the nostalgia of the older games, but the others look so good as well.
I just can’t choose! That’s why I’d like to have a test.
They confirmed polyjuice potion being in the game so you can still go see the others regardless im assumimg
I'm wondering whether you'll have to knock out the person whose hair you used to make the polyjuice potion and hide them in a closet Hitman-style lol.
Hopefully its not just a basic quiz style system, i would much rather a system based on actions/choices actually made in game before getting sorted.
By the decree of Pottermore, I am a Hufflepuff forevermore.
I hope everyone likes or knows some things about Harry Potter as I thought this was a fun game to do! If you don’t know, every year at Hogwarts, students are sorted into four houses at the beginning of each school year and everyone joins their assigned house!
Cinderella is a Gryffindor, now which house is Aurora assigned?
The four houses are as listed:
Rules are the Hogwarts House with the most upvotes will be picked and that Princess will be assigned that house!
Results for each Princess will be posted the next day.
Good luck and happy playing!
Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw!
Ravenclaw. Her song is “I wonder” and Ravenclaws are meant for be curious about the world around them and seek knowledge
She and Luna could vibe so Ravenclaw
Best friends. I think she'd vibe between with Luna than the "normal" students. They even looks similar.
she gives me ravenclaw vibes. the whimsy and dreaminess.
She's also perceptive: she knew the fairies were up to something and wanted her out of the cottage.
And rational: She's heartbroken when she can't be with Phillip, but doesn't do anything rash. She goes to the castle to do her duty, even though she's clearly unhappy about it.
yes! wonderful points made here. she is intelligent in an unconventional way. many people underestimate her as a princess imo
I love this! My first gut reaction was to say Hufflepuff, but I'm always arguing that there's more to her than meets the eye, and you summed it up very well!
