Wicked Brick
Wicked Brick is frequently mentioned as a top choice for premium LEGO display cases. They offer specialized options that are highly regarded for their quality and aesthetic appeal [1:1],
[3:1]. However, they come with a high price tag, especially when factoring in shipping costs, which can be significant
[3:8]. Despite the cost, many users find them worth the investment due to their superior design and fit for specific LEGO sets
[3:3].
IKEA Options
IKEA offers several popular choices for displaying LEGO collections. The IKEA Detolf is often recommended as a starting point for collectors [1:3]. The IKEA Rudsta is another option, available in different sizes, including a tall 5-shelf version
[5:5]. Additionally, IKEA Kallax shelves are favored for their versatility, with glass door inserts available as an addon
[5:1].
Affordable Alternatives
For those looking for more budget-friendly options, some users have found success using alternative solutions like plastic boxes intended for Hot Wheels cars, which can be repurposed for LEGO minifigures [4:6]. Others suggest browsing platforms like Craigslist for inexpensive displays, allowing savings to be redirected towards purchasing more LEGO sets
[5:3].
Custom and DIY Solutions
Some users prefer custom solutions or DIY approaches to create unique display setups. This might involve modifying existing furniture or crafting bespoke cases to fit specific needs. While not explicitly detailed in the discussions, this approach allows for greater personalization and can be more cost-effective if you have the skills and materials.
Specialty Minifigure Displays
For displaying minifigures, there are specific cases available from various manufacturers. Battle Brick Customs offers affordable single-figure cases [4:1]. However, displaying a large number of minifigures can become costly, so it's important to consider the scale of your collection when selecting display options
[4:3].
I’ve been thinking about getting into collecting and have been wondering what you guys would recommend for what display cases are the best
IKEA Rudsta are nice too
IKEA Detolf as a start
These are awesome what’s crazy is the delivery fee
You can buy extra shelves for those aswell
I would recommend wicked bricks, premium, but pricey.
Looking to set up a book shelf type display and needed some suggestions for the Lego display cases and even a good cheaper shelf/book shelf. Thanks!
Try /r/legodisplay
Ooooh, yes! There is no showcase/vitrine cupboard in our living room without LEGO content. 😅
What kind of display cases are those?
The top one I found on Amazon. The 2nd one I'm still waiting to find a case that fits the shelf. 3rd is from wicked brick and the 4th I found at Michael's craft store. The wicked brick cases are by far superior, but shipping is ridiculous and it took 10 weeks to deliver.
I just checked out Wicked Brick and it was all I could do not to drool on my keyboard. Those cases and stands really complete the sets.
Yes, I looked at wicked brick for a stepped minifigs display and it was insane how expensive it was especially when you add in shipping. If you know of any cheaper please let me know.
I wish. I have so many sets on display right now, they're basically on every surface in my office, the studio has a bunch too, plus the "fancy" sets in the dining room. I do not have the space to put them into individual cases.
I put all my sets in display cases, or most of them anyways
I've got a cat, so it's either put them behind glass or deal with a fuzzy destroyer of plastic bricks.
Same here!
I bought one for my lego dimensions game. It’s cool for the best of the best to be on display, and you can stack them on a wall.
They're good, but if you plan on displaying a significant number of minifigs, it'll cost you a fortune.
I wish lego made a version of these as a single box for one minifig. I do have a large collection but only a few I want to put on display or protect.
Lego may not, but I found a 4x4 single figure case at battle brick customs, that were affordable
I like them. Just be careful with the doors. They tend to stick and if put too much pressure opening them you run the risk of breaking the plastic hinge.
Very cool display
I use these little plastic boxes they sell for Hot Wheels, but turned on its side... they r only a few dollars for a 10 pack on Ebay
Hello fellow Lego fans, can ppl plz spam this post with what your displaying your Lego in. I can't seem to find anything I like and those that I do find I like cost more then the Lego I want to display. Bonus points if it's available in the UK and has glass doors. Thanks
r/legodisplay has so many you can peruse
I just found cheap displays on Craigslist and spent the savings on more Lego.
Ikea Rudsta. They also make a tall 5 shelf version, which we may end up with as well some point.
Folks seem to love IKEA Kallax shelves. And those have glass door inserts you can get as an addon. Plus, UK-based Wicked Brick has specialized options sized for Kallax shelving.
Sort of on topic: I'm looking for ideas on how to show all my Starwars UCS size sets other then metal shelving... Love to see what the community has thought up. It has to be Wife safe!
"Wife Safe" and "Display Star Wars LEGO" do not align.
What price range?
Some deep shelves with glass doors are great but expensive.
Ikea is about as expensive as I can stomach to display expensive lego :) so for me I have mostly besta units with glass shelves. They’re a good depth compared to Billy bookshelves. You can add doors to these too.
I use besta, they are just not large enough for my MOC Monarch ISD
If you are in the States, you can try Flying Box
Try Figusafe when you are from the EU.
Does anyone know where I can get a display case for my models? I have 1 six-stud wide model and 21 of the eight stud wide models. I don't need anything too fancy, just something that can store them all and keep them relatively clean from dust / pet hair.
People please answer this thread I’ve been looking on amazon and idk which ones I want / work well for the 8 studs
Mould King 27000 is pretty good, i have 50+ and they'er not too overpriced depending on what deals and sites you use.
Just checked out the site and those are very reasonably priced compared to what I’ve been seeing on amazon!! Definitely gonna get some of these thank you !!
It's stackable with studs inside so the car doesn't roll around, they'er usually a bit cheaper on Mould King's website, HOWEVER every Mould King 8-stud car comes with one display case and currently some of those are running deals cheaper than just buying the display case by itself. Check both sites to get the best deals
I use a garage display that has built in lights but it’s pretty fancy so might not be what you’re looking for. It’s on Amazon under diecast garage display, different sizes available. Great display though!
Just about to make a post about this. Go check it out
i want to get a good display case to grow my collection but i don’t know where to look, does anyone have any recommendations?
I use these
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D95N5V1B?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
They should be able to fit most standard 1/6th size figures (12" tall) and can fit two sometimes (like I have my Elena and Natasha from Black Widow in one). They are stackable and can be put on a table or anywhere really. You can also store all of the accessories in them as well. I like these because I also collect auto pops as well and these can fit 8 standard size pops in them.
They also take no time to put together.

Where are you from / what are you looking?
There’s either DIY Garage shelves, IKEA Blalidens or Moducases imo. I have the last two if you want reference pics
There is also the likes of IKEA Billy’s / Kallax than you can make mess with to make them double wide etc
I was gifted the Titanic Lego set for graduation by family because I've been wanting to build it since it came out, but due to college duties I waited. They surprised me with it. Woohooo...anyways, I just started building it. To protect it from dust, I plant on getting a display case. One of them is clear, the other two have different background prints. I would love you have it be seen from all angles but the backgrounds also add a good touch. I might also buy a lighting kit for it so with all this in mind, I am trying to pick the best display case. What do you guys think?
Stick to the source material, throw it in an aquarium.
No background, clean and gives it depth.
I agree
2 is beautiful
I’d go with the second option
If it's against a wall, 2. If displayed in a more open setting, 1.
I’ve been using wire racks for the past couple months. They’re good for holding large sets but with small ones, I’m afraid they’ll fall through. Thanks in advance.
ive heard a lot of people like shelves from ikea
I got some Walmart brand ones from their hardware section. I think the brand is hyper tough and they make different sized ones. I can fit a few Lego sets on each one. But I guess it depends on if you’re trying to drill into the wall too.
I've got some shelves from Target. There's pictures on my profile.
You can get shelf liners for most wire shelves. It's usually just a thin piece of plastic that sits on the wires.
Ikea makes a couple good options.
I got a couple of nicer, used ones from the various online marketplaces. It took some time to find ones that I liked for a decent price though.
Honestly the Ikea "Ivar" shelves are really fantastic and extremely affordable....I just invested in them. The one expense that can potentially add up and take more time to setup is the lighting if you need it. Solidbrix studios has a great video of his space using the Ivar shelves on youtube and is what insipired me to do the same. Good luck!

Key Considerations for LEGO Display Cases
Size and Compatibility: Ensure the display case fits your specific LEGO sets. Measure your largest set to find a case that accommodates it comfortably.
Material: Look for cases made from durable materials like acrylic or glass, which provide clarity and protection against dust while showcasing your models.
Accessibility: Consider how easy it is to access your LEGO sets. Some cases have hinged doors or removable shelves for easy viewing and cleaning.
UV Protection: If your LEGO sets are exposed to sunlight, choose a case with UV protection to prevent fading of colors over time.
Stackability: If you have multiple sets to display, consider stackable cases to maximize space and create an organized display.
Recommendations:
Display Cases by DisplayGifts: These acrylic cases are popular for their clarity and sturdiness. They come in various sizes and are great for individual sets or smaller collections.
LEGO Display Case by Brictek: This option is designed specifically for LEGO sets, featuring a modular design that allows for customization and expansion as your collection grows.
Detolf Glass Cabinet from IKEA: A versatile choice, this cabinet offers ample space, glass doors for visibility, and a sleek design that fits well in most home decor.
Choosing the right display case will not only protect your LEGO sets but also enhance their visual appeal in your space.
