What Redditors are Saying

Best Mobile Games for Grinding and Leveling Up

Incremental and Idle Games

For those who enjoy checking in multiple times a day and collecting rewards, incremental games are highly recommended. These games often feature idle mechanics where progress continues even when you're not actively playing. Examples include "OSRS" (Old School RuneScape), "Pixel Starships," and "WarUniverse," which offer extensive grinding opportunities [1:3]. Additionally, "Melvor Idle" is praised for its engaging grind [3:7].

Community and Long-Term Engagement

Games with strong community features and long progression paths are ideal for players looking for social interaction and extended gameplay. "Clash of Clans" is frequently mentioned for its guild systems and events that offer plenty of quests and raids [2:4]. "Granblue Fantasy" is known for its intense grind and has earned the nickname "Grindblue Farmtasy" due to the extensive farming required [3:2].

Action and Strategy Games

For players interested in action-packed grinding experiences, "Dead Cells" offers a challenging yet rewarding gameplay loop where strategy and skill are essential [3:5]. "Magic: The Gathering Arena" provides strategic card battles that require thoughtful deck building and can become quite addictive [4:3].

RPGs and Adventure Games

Role-playing games like "Disgaea" allow players to level characters up to extreme levels, such as 9999, and deal massive damage, making it a quintessential grind game [3:1]. "Titan Quest" and "Exiled Kingdoms" are notable mentions for RPG fans seeking endless gear upgrades and monster battles [5:2].

Recommendations Beyond Discussions

While many games have been suggested, it's crucial to consider your personal preferences regarding gameplay style and community involvement. If you enjoy tactical challenges, exploring mobile versions of popular PC games like "Diablo Immortal" or similar alternatives might be worth considering. Additionally, keeping an eye on new releases and updates can introduce fresh grinding opportunities tailored to your interests.

My main game is currently Whiteout Survival. I play it with my wife and enjoy it for what it is, but I need something a little more for a side game that may turn into a main game.

Likes:

  • Large well established community and guild/alliance systems.
  • I love the grind.
  • I like lots of quests, events, time sinks, rabbit holes, raids.
  • Lots of learning resources/popular videos about getting the most out of the game.
  • I like collecting things (characters, outfits, items, etc).
  • I wanna play this game for the long haul. I don't half ass a game. I PLAY it. I like going up in ranks and opening content. I work from home and for myself and I have ADHD, mobile games help me refocus between RL tasks.

Dislikes:

  • I've tried a few gatcha style games (SWGOH, Trek Timelines, Summoners War, Strike Force) and they don't feel like my kinda my thing, and maybe I picked the wrong ones.
  • I'm also not into anime-esque games like Genshin and Honkai. Just not my aesthetic.
  • Some games are just too p2w. Especially those that lock content or skills behind a paywall. I don't mind season passes if they are less than $10. I'm no whale, but I do spend spend money as needed, within my budget. But, I can't abide the get to level 10 and then you're locked unless you pay money. That's just bullshit. Allow me to play and pay if and when I want to.
  • Don't suggest Runescape. I've been there, tried that more than a few times over the years, and it's not my thing either.

Thank you for whatever suggestions you may have. I just can't seem to find anything to scratch the itch (Marvel Puzzle Quest was last month's hail mary and my god that got boring quick - it's just not dynamic enough).

It's definitely not idle; you need to be sharp

Regular enemies can end you quickly if you're being careless and there are various "trade-off" opportunities such as breaking open a door instead of paying the fee to get the goodies behind, at the cost of a curse that causes you to die in one hit unless you kill X enemies first. Fortunately, the game gives you a lot of tools to use at range and the grind overall feels rewarding and fair.

Great game!

[deleted] · 4 years ago

I know he says its not hard, but personally I found it difficult for a few runs. Afterwards you learn the way the enemies function and it becomes dramatically easier.

If I could offer one piece of advice that would have served me well.... DONT JUST UNLOCK ANY OLD WEAPON!

There are a lot of crap weapons that you'll never want to use. If you unlock them they show up at the vendor/market guy you'll find in and between levels. If you don't unlock them you'll have a smaller pool of the weapons you like.

1 upvotes on reddit
L
LordReiden · 4 years ago

The first time you play the game, it's not that hard. But it has various difficulty levels in progression which can make the game insane. So when it comes to difficulty, yes, but you'll get good and improve after each runs.

A mobile game to conquer 'em all!

Posted by BasileusXX · in r/AndroidGaming · 5 months ago

Greetings fellas, I'm looking for a mobile game that could finally entertain me for more than a week.
I like gacha, Fantasy, RPG (both action and Turn Based), Strategy and 4X, but I'm open to everything as long as it is a quality game!
Some important factors:

  1. PvP: the more it is a core component the better it is.
  2. Progression: The more it is focused on you being a single char the better it is.
  3. MTs: are fine as long as it is not mandatory to eventually be competitive.
  4. Auto-Play: big no unless there is a nice strategy aspect behind it or other aspects of the game are amazing.
  5. Time Based Gameplay: (stamina, buildings taking days etc.) The less the better.
  6. Community: if the game has a nice active community is even better as I like complex games with a lot to discuss, and not just a community based on shabby random guilds you join with no flavour.
Bonus: I also like roleplaying, but I dunno if there is anything for that on mobile.
Well, if anyone could lead my lost soul to something I will finally appreciate I would be very glad, in the meanwhile have a nice day y'all! :D

I am not joking here but deep dive in the world of beautiful game of chess. Amazing community, great and funny content on YT, pure PvP, progression is about single character - YOU (analyze your previous games, watch tutorial, discussions on subreddit), no autoplay, play as many games as you want (no stamina ect), no MTs, also variety of modes (like atomic chess, puzzles, or random chess). You can use chess.com (freemium) or Lichess (free).

I agree that Chess is great but its definitely not for everyone. It can be frustrating to play, if you don't actually study tactics and learn how to play early, mid and end game. It looks simple but has a lot of depth. You must learn to plan ahead more than 2 moves and not just for your own pieces but opponents as well, or you will be just moving pieces by gut feeling and occasionally win by luck and have no clue how that happened. So, it can be fun but road to it finally being fun is a chore. I rather watch good matches with explanation of each player's strategy, than play it myself.

As also a PC gamer when a game is playable on PC I always prefer to play it on PC as I would feel like I'm just playing a watered down version on mobile.
Thanks for the suggestion anyway, maybe it is particulary well made even for mobile, I'll try it even if to be honest it doesn't seem my cup of tea but who knows, prejudices are never good ^^

You might wanna try Farbo World – 3D Maze.

It’s not your typical gacha or 4X, but hear me out:

Fully free, no ads, no stamina timers.

Story-driven progression across different themed worlds (each with unique enemies, traps, and a boss).

No auto-play nonsense – it’s all about skill and movement.

Multiplayer included (Paint Rush, Race Craze, Battle Royale), so there’s some PvP fun too.

And yeah, the dev's building it out with real lore/worldbuilding vibes – not just skin-deep stuff.

It’s kind of a hidden gem that plays more like an indie adventure-puzzle maze with arcade roots, but it’s got that ‘just one more level’ grip.

What are some good “grinding” games?

For context, I mean like DB Legends, The Asphalt Series, Injustice 2 Mobile, Smashy Road etc. Where you unlock or summon for a variety of characters / cars. Are there any others like this or any that have treated y’all well, yk, not spamming the life out of us with ads? (Db legends has no ads and same for asphalt and Injustice thank goodness) but anyways. I’m in the search for new apps like that, suggestions would be appreciated!

Try f.e., Endless Sky, Space rpg 3, and then, Out There series, and Galaxy Genome. Space rangers:Legacy also requires a lot of grinding. And in the graphic and sound aspects the game is made superbly. But this is not a recommendation (I just gave information about the existence of such a game).

[dev android] if you are willing to alpha test, Vrakys is in early access while I finish polishing. Ui/graphics are in need of some repair but otherwise gameplay is solid. Rpg adventure, you have a main character and can get 2 additional friends/party members, each of which you have to grind up their abilities by getting XP in battles. System is turn based with a symbol-crafting mechanic which means after you pick your ability you need to draw the symbol (fast and accurate) to determine the outcome/potency of said ability

More abilities you have grinding the stronger you are so those grinding all will have an advantage PvP

F2P, no ads, not P2W, looking to build a community of players

Suggestions for a grind lover?

Posted by Noob447 · in r/MobileGaming · 3 years ago

I’m looking for suggestions of iOS games that are really chill but really grindy. I’ve been playing RuneScape 2/3/countless rsps’ for years upon years but as of late I have hardly any time to access a pc, and no Android devices to play osrs mobile :(.

If you know anything about Runescape, I have always been a ‘skiller’ (someone who spends their time leveling non-combat skills and gathering resources manually with those skills such as mining or woodcutting, rather than relying on combat to obtain resource drops). I do not really find much enjoyment with combat, especially pvp, and especially not when it comes to mobile interfaces. Considering this, can anyone suggest games that are either very similar to the extremely grindy skill aspects of RS or just sort of like resource gathering and leveling/building, etc?

I happened upon this quaint little game called “Dreamdale” that was actually fun for a bit. I watched a couple of ads to get a little bundle of resources and what not, and then boom…they pissed me off by making me watch an ad at every single step of achievement and on like a 5-minute timer too. The typical “force ads down their throats until they’re pissed enough to pay” model and $8 is definitely not a lot of money but it’s the principle of it all and they’ve already pissed me off.

Best mobile games for grinding and leveling up

Key Considerations for Grinding and Leveling Up in Mobile Games:

  1. Game Genre: Choose games that are designed for long-term engagement, such as RPGs (Role-Playing Games), MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online RPGs), or idle games, which often have mechanics that reward grinding.

  2. Progression System: Look for games with a clear and rewarding progression system. Games that offer experience points (XP), skill trees, or character upgrades can keep you motivated.

  3. Community and Multiplayer Features: Games with active communities or multiplayer elements can enhance the grinding experience through teamwork, trading, or competition.

  4. Daily Quests and Events: Games that offer daily quests, events, or challenges can provide consistent opportunities for leveling up and rewards.

  5. In-Game Economy: Consider games with a balanced in-game economy that allows you to earn currency or resources through grinding, which can be used for upgrades or new characters.

Top Recommendations:

  1. Genshin Impact: An open-world action RPG with a rich story, character leveling, and daily commissions that encourage grinding for resources and experience.

  2. Raid: Shadow Legends: A turn-based RPG that features a deep hero collection system, allowing for extensive grinding and leveling through dungeons and arena battles.
