Brands with Strong Scent Throw
When it comes to brands that offer candles with a strong scent throw, several names stand out. Additional Recommendations
If you're interested in exploring new scents, consider trying aromatherapy blends such as rose and vanilla, or white tea and sage [3:6]. For those who enjoy a sweet and comforting scent, Marshmallow Fireside could be a delightful option
[3:8].
I love unwinding with a glass of wine and a scented candle. Sage & Aloe is a favorite of mine to do just that, and so is Midnight Blue Citrus.
What are your favorites when you want to de-stress and have a calm and relaxing evening?
I love the “Calm” Vanilla Patchouli. It always comforts me ☺️
Lavender and vanilla is my go-to
I like the lemon & mint leaf to give me spa vibes
This scent is my jaaaaam
One from a few years ago called lemon mint tea! Also tuxedo night
I just saw that today in store! A few big ones and single wicks!
I LOVE euclayptus spearmint and lavender vanilla to relax they are both strong enough to fill my apartment but not overpowering and both are available year round!
Using a candle while meditating is a great way to set the mood and help you relax. It can be great for focus too! This technique has been used by avid meditators for hundreds of years and some even use candles as the focal point of their meditation.
Staring at flickering flame can be hypnotic and calming. Think about the last time you sat around a campfire staring into the fire.
Add a soothing aroma such as lavender or jasmine to the mix and you’ll set up the ultimate meditation experience!

Great suggestions for candles!
Recently discovered this place and am obsessed. But also broke so I can’t buy everything. What’s your fav candle when you just need to relax?
I don't really have a "relaxing" candle. I just burn what I want whenever I want. So I'll just go with my favorite of the year...Vanilla & Peach Tea.
Vanilla birch! So relaxing and cozy
Another vote for Vanilla Birch! I tend to go for that or Sugared Snickerdoodle when I need extra comfort, depending on what type of scent I'm in the mood for that day
Try their aromatherapy scents! I’m a fan of Eucalyptus Spearmints — smells refreshing and spa-like. Also good for when you’re feeling sick.
Is the spearmint strong? Because I like peppermint but spearmint just reminds me of toothpaste.
I think the eucalyptus is the main note! For me the spearmint smells sweet and soothing. I’m a fan of both spearmint and peppermint.
Aromatherapy Vanilla + Patchouli
Aromatherapy Rose + Vanilla
White Tea and Sage
Three way tie. I couldn’t decide lol
Marshmallow Fireside
I was wondering what everyone’s favorite scented candles are! There’s so much discussion of perfume on here, but not much about other fragranced products.
I mostly go for B&BW candles, because even though I pine for luxury candles, I can't justify spending that kind of money on something that gets used up as fast as candles do. B&BW stuff is infuriating though, because I just want to find my favorites and buy them over and over again, but nooo, they endlessly cycle them out for new stuff.
My favorite B&BW candles have been Evergreen, Fireside, and Hot Cocoa & Cream.
My favorite Voluspa candle is Spiced Goji Tarocco Orange.
P F Candle Co. makes a candle I love called Canyon Hideaway.
I've been seriously considering "investing" in a three-wick NEST candle in the scent Hearth. I had one of their little votives for years and loved it, but it's finally used up completely. 😢
I have two three wick Nest candles in my office that fill the room with scent just by their cold throw. It was so obnoxious that I had to put a cover on one of them just to tame it down a bit.
Voluspa Baltic Amber and Diptyque Baies :)
voluspa has such great candles! obsessed with them
Woodwick candles stone washed suede is a dead ringer for Tom Ford ombre leather. Love it
Have to try that one!
I always buy Humidor by Woodwick
This Woodwick candle seems to be fully sold out online ⚠️
I'm going to try this one!
Omg you won’t believe it but this is the candle that inspired me to make this post!
Do these ever go on sale? I love wood wicks! I see they are $26 right now.
Literally burning this as I read this post! Great one to just burn up without worrying about “wasting” it
I like Fig and Citrus, Tranquil Rainforest, Cool Springs and Aloe, and the Oud candle from the company Goose Creek. They’re very affordable and smell amazing with great throw. I already spend too much on perfumes so I don’t need to be spending too much on candles lol
I wanna get a good brand of candles but having trouble on deciding which one for different parts of my home :) any recommendations would be great!
Nest candles are also amazing.
Jo Malone , Diptyque , and Louis Vuitton
For a unbeatable throw on a candle unfortunately the cost point can go up .. now something like BBW the teakwood intense really has a good throw for 25.00 .
Pfcandles I love Golden Coast and the Tobbaco and Teakwood ones. They have a really good throw
I second PF Candles and want to add in Bijou candles!
Aldi candles
B&BW and Aldi candles for me.
My all-time favorite is probably the DS & Durga Big Sur After Rain, but the price is absurd ($65!).
A more affordable option is Sunbloom from PF Candle Company, but I heard from a little bird that they're union-busters, which makes me not want to support them.
Yesterday I smelled an Overose candle that I really liked, but can't remember which.
I think Malin + Goetz is overrated, for what it's worth. Same with Boy Smells.

I'd love to see your recs!
Mine is Sweet Grapefruit from PF Candle Co. I haven’t heard about them being union busters, will have to look into that.
I had an oakmoss sage one from DW Home that smelled absolutely amazing. One of these days, I'm gonna have to buy another LMFAO. I also have manly indulgences black tuxedo, but that one is unfortunately tied by scent memories to one if the worst jobs I've ever had and it gives me, like, Nam flashbacks if I burn it alone.
I have a few other good ones but I'll go dig them up during people hours.
I quite like Shy Wolf Thunder Struck, which I found in a local shop so not sure how widely it's distributed. This is the kind of scent I'd love to have as a perfume.
I haven't tried many high end candles. I like the grapefruit one from Trader Joe's, and Bath and Body Works makes some good ones.
You're listing the exact candles I was looking at (Boy Smells LES, P.F. Ojai Lavender, DS & Durga Big Sur After Rain are literally in my shopping cart but I want to narrow it down). Can you please share about the union busting?
It's basically gossip—a friend of a friend used to work for the company, and I heard secondhand they were fired for trying to unionize. I don't think it's a well-known problem and I can't say it happened with 100% confidence, fwiw!
I'm an absolute candle junky (my living room coffee table looks like the site of a seance) so I'm perching up in this post looking for recommendations too. I've tried a few Diptyques (absurdly overpriced and burned way too quickly imo, but smelled great) and currently working my way through some Boy Smells (they smell good enough and last longer than Diptyque, but the throw is minimal). Hinoki Fantome is my fave from Boy Smells.
Honestly, the most success I've had w candles has been from World Market. Cheap, solid scents, good throw.
I love candles with either a calming scent like lavender or nice and sunny like citrus.
I've got one that smells like bread baking. That one is pretty great.
French Baguette from Bath and Body Works? I have sitting next to me burning right.now!
I also love Bath and Body Works Sun Tan and Lilac
I like ones that have a little bit of a woody smell, and things that have amber or musk in the name. I also like campfire-smelling ones, but nothing with tobacco scent. My top favorites are Rose and Cedar candle from Target with the crackling wood wick (Threshold brand) and Santal Musk by DW Home (found that at a TJ Maxx) So calming but also not something you smell everyday :) not sure if you can find them outside the US though!
Yes Santal Musk is my FAVORITE! I just bought three candles from their website in that scent. I wish I could slather everything in it.
Anything with sandalwood
Anything from Bath & Body Works pretty much. Twisted Peppermint at Christmas time is a must have. I like coconut scents, florals like rose, essential oils, etc.
Everything there smells SO GOOD
I want something that sets me in the mood for studying and very very pleasant to smell. Any recommends ?
Peppermint( Fresh Mint & Tea Tree) or Lemon ( Fresh Amalfi Lemon) but I don't think you are going to find any now. Maybe Fresh Brewed Coffee.
Scents can help with memory, but you need to have the same scent present when studying and when taking the test. Find a candle with matching body care. Something unique that you don’t smell during a normal day.
Oh thanks !!! So which ones should I pick up ?
A lot of body care have matching candles or wallflowers right now. Champagne Toast, Into the Night, Japanese Cherry Blossom, the new Endless Sea and Wild Sand scents, Cactus Blossom, Midnight Blue Citrus, Love Always Wins, I believe we’re getting Black Cherry Merlot and Leaves body care for the fall season, as well as Pumpkin Pecan Waffles. So many! It really depends on what kind of scents appeal to you.
White Tea & Sage
Flannel
Lakeside Morning
Lavender Vetiver
I used Peach Bellini when I had an early morning online class. It’s strong and energizing imo. It’s still my favorite candle but now it reminds me of Microeconomics… 🤣
Lol !!! They say 'the scent reminds you what you study' huh !! 😉
i use coffee candles when i want to get things done :3
Do you have any fauvorite ones ? I heard a lot about Paris cafe , and want to try it out but some say it has uite a strong scent .
i love pink lavender and espresso! my go to candle :)
I also enjoy the current freshly brewed coffee candle thats out for fall
I love scented candles, especially non-toxic ones made of Beeswax or Soy, but DAMN they are so expensive and I just can't bring myself to drop $30 on something I'm going to literally burn. Has anyone found a frugal scented candle? Or know where I can buy some in bulk at a discount? TIA!
Serenity By Jan.
They are quite lovely and feature lush and intoxicating aromas.
When I’m really stressed I just smell all of my candles
I enjoy listening to songs by hunter while inhaling the aromas
Do you have any favorite scents? I've only bought candles there a couple of times, and one was great but another was very weak. Plus it seems like they keep bringing out new seasonal ones, but I don't want to keep experimenting if I don't wind up liking some of them. (I order online so can't smell them until I've already bought them).
They've got an apricot rosemary one out this week and it's divine.
In general, I think their floral scents are a bit off so i stick with ones that seem more musky or more fruity, avoiding the floral.
They often come out with some lemon-cupcake, lemon-bar etc scent and those ones are SO good. I think they do really well on beachy scents during summer, too!
My favorite are the holiday cranberry, citron and cilantro, and the blood orange persimmon
This is the way. I have tiny jars with wax melts (they always seem to be on sale for a buck somewhere) and set it on a wax warmer. No open flames because I have kids and pets. Also it’s better for asthma and allergies to not have the soot from the flame
This is the way.
Love it when they are discounted, the little one wicks for 1.49 are the BEST.
100% Aldi. they're so worth it and smell amazing. Most are seasonal, but there are a few that aren't. So you'll have to check the ads but they are worth the look.
Aldi has an in-house brand called Huntington Home, and all the candles I've seen there are under that brand.
Would this be cheaper than wax melts?
The geranium one is SO FRAGRANT that is scents y guest room without being lit
1955-Frank Sinatra-In The Small Wee Hours
1956-Elvis Presley-Elvis Presley
1957-LIttle Richard-Here's Richard
1958-Count Basie Orchestra -The Atomic Count Basie Orchestra
1959-Dave Brubek Quartet-Time Out
Once you see this cover, you will never forget it. Which is ironic cause once you listen to the album you will never remember it
I remember that cover as a kid in the 60s . Too funny because I seriously do not remember the music at all
The post is asking about 1960 specifically.
This is the winner. Most excellent.

best scented candles for relaxation
Key Considerations for Choosing Scented Candles for Relaxation:
Scent Profile: Look for calming scents such as lavender, chamomile, sandalwood, or vanilla. These fragrances are known for their relaxing properties and can help reduce stress.
Quality of Ingredients: Opt for candles made from natural waxes (like soy or beeswax) and essential oils rather than synthetic fragrances. Natural candles burn cleaner and are better for your health.
Burn Time: Consider the burn time of the candle. Longer-lasting candles (typically 40-60 hours) provide more value and allow for extended relaxation sessions.
Wick Type: Wooden wicks can create a soothing crackling sound and provide a unique ambiance, while cotton wicks are more common and can burn evenly.
Container Design: A well-designed container can enhance the aesthetic of your space and can be reused after the candle has burned out.
Recommendations:
Yankee Candle Lavender: Known for its soothing lavender scent, this candle is perfect for creating a calming atmosphere.
Paddywax Candles (Hygge Collection): These candles feature a blend of natural wax and essential oils, with scents like "Cedar + Sage" that promote relaxation.
Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Candles: Their "Stress Relief" line, particularly the Eucalyptus + Spearmint scent, is popular for its calming effects.
Brooklyn Candle Studio: Their soy candles are hand-poured and come in various relaxing scents like "Sandalwood + Amber," which is great for unwinding.
Choosing high-quality candles with soothing scents can significantly enhance your relaxation experience. Enjoy your moments of tranquility!
