TL;DR For Titans, standout weapons include Quicksilver Storm, Witherhoard, Wish-Ender, Leviathan's Breath, and the Immortal SMG. These weapons are effective across various PvE and PvP scenarios.
PvE Weapon Recommendations
In PvE, Titans can benefit from a range of kinetic and energy weapons. Some top picks include Quicksilver Storm, Rufus's Fury, and Wish-Ender, which is noted for its outstanding performance in endgame PvE [1:1]
[1:3]. Exotic weapons like Witherhoard and Leviathan’s Breath with its catalyst are also highly recommended for their damage output and utility
[1:4]
[1:5].
PvP Weapon Choices
For PvP, Titans often rely on weapons that complement their aggressive playstyle. The Immortal SMG from Trials is a popular choice due to its power and versatility [1:4]. Peacekeepers paired with SMGs have been a nightmare for opponents in PvP, especially when combined with the Titan's mobility-enhancing abilities
[2:3]
[2:9]. Additionally, leveraging exotics such as Peregrine Greaves with suppressing shoulder charge can be particularly effective against enemy supers
[2:10].
Endgame Build Suggestions
For endgame content, Titans should consider easy-to-obtain weapons that still pack a punch. Midnight Coup and Multimach CCX are solid primary options, while Mountaintop and Lotus-Eater serve well as special weapons [4:1]. For heavy slots, Queenbreaker and Edge Transit are recommended
[4:1]. Participating in raids like Vault of Glass (VoG) can yield powerful weapons such as Fatebringer and Hezen Vengeance, enhancing your DPS capabilities
[4:2].
General Weapon Tips
Overall, weapon selection should align with your playstyle and preferences. While some players swear by specific combinations like Falling Guillotine and Cartesian Coordinate [3:7], others suggest experimenting with different setups to find what feels best
[3:4]. Keep an eye out for seasonal changes and updates that might affect weapon availability and effectiveness
[1:6].
By focusing on these recommendations and tailoring them to your gameplay style, you can optimize your Titan build for both PvE and PvP scenarios in Destiny 2: The Final Shape.
So, I've finally returned to Destiny after my 2-year hiatus after the game became free. And I still really like the game, but I've lost all the means to the guns and weapons in Destiny 2 media. So, any guns/weapons that I should try out?
Edit: I just wanted to say thank you to everyone suggesting guns below! 100% saving me right now.
For the first time in the history of destiny, there are so many "best weapons" that I can't give a definitive answer to this...
Surprised I haven’t seen Retrofit Escapade mentioned yet, though I suppose it might be difficult to obtain now if you’ve been away for awhile. With how strong void is this season, this gun absolutely shreds! The only time I ever take it off is against overloads in GM nightfalls since it’s hard to burst them down. Using this gun in the Avalon mission is some of the most fun I’ve ever had. I’ve never generated so many orbs!
It’s been mentioned already, but Wish Ender is fantastic for endgame PVE as well and that’s one you could realistically obtain.
though I suppose it might be difficult to obtain now
Well in fact it is impossible to obtain lol
Has it been confirmed as impossible though? I’m not doubting you, but I’ve received a few Season 19 weapons as world drops (including a red border Ikelos sniper), so I assume it could happen, albeit unlikely? Also, is there no chance for Banshee or Xur to sell one?
I’ve only been playing since Season 19 so it isn’t fully clear to me how available prior weapons become later on, or if the new expansion rolling out impacts that beyond just the change in season. Any insight is appreciated.
Witherhoard, exotic gl.
The immortal smg, from trials.
Hothead rl or Bump in the night rl.
PvE: Kinetic Primaries: Quicksilver Storm, Rufus's Fury, Final Warning, Outbreak, Revision Zero, Submission, Hung Jury, Wish-Ender (Wish-Ender is super OP), Immortal
Kinetic Specials: Heritage, Arbalest, Izanagi's Burden, Witherhoard, Conditional Finality, Riptide, Deliverance, Lingering Dread, Forerunner
Energy Primaries: Funnelweb, Calus Mini Tool, Ikelos SMG, Riskrunner, Polaris Lance, Doom of Chelchis, Brigand's Law, Drang Baroque, The Title
Energy Specials: Forbearance, Hollow Denial, Acasia's Dejection, Nessa's Oblation, Cartesian Coordinate, Midha's Reckoning, Plug.One., Null Composure, Divinity
Heavies: Gjallarhorn, Sleeper Simulant, Cataclysmic, Hothead, Bump in the Night, Commemoration, Unwavering Duty, Tractor Cannon, The Lament, Wendigo GL3, Regnant
Those are all the weapons I like using, and I'm an endgame PvE player. There's more good weapons than I listed, especially for double special strategies, but these ones can handle basically all of the content in the game in multiple ways.
Leviathan’s breath with the catalyst is crazy. I did Vow and someone put 4.1 million on Rhulk with it.
And also legendary special GLs with blinding nades
Don't forget Le Monarque, or Three-Tailed Fox(catalyst gives a third rocket).
Unforgiven has the best perk combo on an smg.
ager’s scepter, trinity ghoul, iterative loop, the other half, osteo striga
Try them all, champion mod changes made a huge difference
Returning player here. Took a break after finishing Final Shape. I have since returned back to the game and I'm trying to catch up. What's the best titan builds for PVP right now?
The BEST build is void titan, scatter nades with weaken fragment, bastion and controlled demolition aspects.
Build for discipline, resil, recov, and enjoy throwing nukes at people. Controlled demo is just ridiculous, chaining volatile and 90 health for anyone in a 40m radius just makes ur nades and shoulder charge so much more valuable than what you could get on other subclasses. (dont forget fastball mod it importante)
Twilight arsenal is the best 3s super in the game, it’s a free round win. Suppressing shoulder charge is stupid and can sometimes beat supers if you know what ur doing
Play slowish with pulse/crimils/ igneous and a lw/closing slug or fusion of ur choice and enjoy being insufferable. Or pks with target lock unending/shayuras if you want to be more aggressive but this just straight up won’t work against very good players because smgs are in a bad spot.
Exotics r pks, dunes, OEM, peregrines (if in low skill lobbies) . Anything else is gimmicky
Why not Mask of the Quiet One?
Other than that, I agree with this take. A while back when someone made a community tier list, it was insane how slept on void Titan is.
Even now, I see bot titans queuing in comp on striker Titan, and it’s almost always a guarantee that they’ll bottom board
I use basically this but with Peregrines as my exotic so my melee is an almost guaranteed kill when needed.
Peregrines with the suppress shoulder charge is nuts for killing supers.
Arc, void, stasis, or prismatic. Exotics one eye, dunemarchers, acd feedback and peacekeeper if you like smg but it’s not meta right now
I’ve gotten wrecked by dudes using Peacekeepers. Probably the most cracked enemies I’ve ever fought wore Peacekeepers.
Peacekeeper titan has given guardians nightmares for years especially in that last meta they were in. Right now they are good in 6s but 3s it will depend on the map but if it’s your main thing and you are best with it then you’ll be fine cause it’s a great exotic
In my opinion ACD feedback is better then dunemarchers. . The chances of stringing your melee happens far less then 1v1 melee fights. Acd feedback arms almost guarantee you will not die alone, at least the opponent will die with you. Arc titan with “knockout” and “storms keep”
I think Storms Keep is overrated, especially against better players. I've been rocking Touch of Thunder since Day 1, and it's not coming off with lightning grenades.
Dunes are used for the movement benefits. If they completely removed the arc zap from them they'd still be the most used titan exotic. The zap is just an added benefit.
Dunemarchers is mainly used for the sprint speed buff I think. You’re right though, the melee chain damage rarely ever gets used. ACD is a very solid choice.
I’m currently enjoying Behemoth (Stasis) Titan abusing Cryoclasm sliding with a shotgun, combined with whatever exotic armor you want to pair it with. I personally love auto rifles and am using Actium War Rig. Stasis melee is also incredible for repositioning and making slick getaways. Glacier Grenade can be used as a makeshift barricade or to cut distance in half for more aggressive pushes.
Seriously, use Cryoclasm. It’s so much fun skating around every 3 seconds or so, and once you really nail it down, can make some insane plays.
Build is very loosely fit as I don’t think there’s really any good exotic armors that pair with stasis too well. Dunemarchers are a good option. Maybe Lance Cap if you want to play more defensively. Actium lets me swap into Sweet Business abusing-mode if I want to clown around too.
Aside from that, you could always go for the tried and true Void Titan build that abuses Overshields whenever it can. Void Titan is always a solid choice.
Hello Guardians!!! I hope you have a great day. Can i ask please, what are the best weapons in game ( new player btw, i start few months ago).
Are we talking farmable and easier to aquire, or just in general, because for some of the (currently) best ones, you gotta do a raid or two
Or 50, talking about you mythoclast
I don't know what you're talking about, i got it on my first clear while Atheon was still cheesable. Just like in D1 i got it first run 😅
Oh yes, sorry my friend you have right. In general i mean.
The tried and true Season of Arrivals trifecta, Witherhoard, Gnawing Hunger, and Falling Guillotine. With good rolls on the legendaries, that loadout is so damn universal.
Half jokes aside, there are lots of good weapons out there. You can almost not go wrong with anything if it happens to work for your playstyle.
Are there any specific weapon types you prefer (Autos, Hand Cannons, Snipers, Fusions, etc.)? I could give you my own top picks for the types are are interested in.
What you need is a Skyburner's Oath exotic artillery piece. Ignore the haters and rain fire from the safety of the next planet over.
Honestly, it kinda depends a bit on you and your play style. Just guage what wepons feel good to you, and what works with your play style and just go from there.
Falling guillotine and Cartesian coordinate are safe choices.
Hi all, returning player here gearing up for Edge of Fate. I haven't played in around 5 years, since Shadowkeep, so much of my stuff is outdated and I missed many many seasons.
I would like to start making a titan build that is viable for endgame content and will allow me to join more experienced teams without being a burden. However, I am finding that many of the good weapons I see people using are either seasonal things that I can't get anymore (I think?) or come from the endgame themselves, like raid weapons.
I was doing some onslaught and got a Midnight Coup (firefly/one for all) that seems pretty good. Not sure what to pair with that or if that is going to work in harder content.
In short: what are some good weapons I can start farming for by myself or maybe with 1 friend? I personally like hand cannons/pulse rifles and shotguns/snipers as weapons, but am amenable to using others if they are much better.
Thank you!
Honestly, just run VoG and DSC; 2 of the easiest raids in the game (along with RoN), yet they have some of the best gear - people are always willing to teach/carry through VoG, it has fatebringer which is good, but more importantly praedyth’s revenge and hezen vengeance which together make one of the best endgame dps rotations.
Praedyth with kinetic tremors and bait & switch; hezen with envious arsenal and bait & switch plus a decent area denial GL or something will give you very good dps on a wide range of bosses.
DSC has the best weapons from any raid on average imho; posterity and trustee are pretty mid, but heritage, succession & commemoration are all very very solid, with bequest being niche, but arguably the best weapons in the niche (just ignore eyes of tomorrow lmao)
Normal Vanguard engrams and end of strike/nightfall chests can drop a Strand Heavy Grenade Launcher and a Strand Rocket Launcher that both have excellent perk options.
Episode Echoes activities has Lost Signal (Stasis Area Denial Grenade Launcher) and Aberrant Action (Solar Rocket Sidearm). Both are very good. The exotic mission from Echoes rewards Choir of One which is an amazing exotic special weapon.
Episode Heresy activities reward several good weapons including an Arc area denial grenade launcher and an arc aggressive lmg.
Rites of the Nine is a free for everyone event going on right now. You do not need to own the dungeon keys to access them via Rites of the Nine. The current dungeon's loot is pretty mid but the ones coming up will have some pretty good stuff.
considering you're already playing onslaught you should look out for edge transit for your heavy and forbearence for your special slot. Both simple but effective weapons.
For the rest of the week you can get lotus eater from nightfalls. Incredible void rocket pistol that you should definitely get your hands on.
Assuming free to play, these items should cover most of your bases and shouldn't require too many sources.

If you do own some paid content and you want more thorough recommendations, check out Aegis' weapon spreadsheet and specifically the "Shopping List" tab. It's made for speed-runners to cover all of the bases they might need for any content.
One thing to add, the shopping list tab in there is oriented towards general endgame not speedrunners.
He maintains a separate sheet oriented towards speedrunners, since speedruns typically require very specific niches of weapons (stuff like Ex Diris, Salvation's Grip, and Gunnora's Axe are used in various speedruns but not in regular Endgame content).
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1is4sNUesy--7Zm6SCCWEP9PAXomxaSj5xlJGCsSj_qs/edit?usp=sharing
What a weird combination of weapons! Salvation's makes sense, but why would Ex Diris and a generic PvP slug shotgun play into speedrunning at all? Cool stuff.
This is incredibly helpful, thank you!! I do have most of the paid content outside of some dungeons so that spreadsheet is especially useful.
Use the search function of the sub Reddit. There was a huge post on this titan about how to play and use it
Yeh, the man recommends vajras, me too, guessing you don’t have them, the acid shotgun are a good option, no no to fulgur
I'll just sneak this in here https://www.reddit.com/r/walkingwarrobots/s/xspzKcUrfF
For titan weapons on lurch, vajras/maha vajra, Evora/veyron, anguisher/ruiner or muninn/huginn are all good choices
Welcome guardians to my own Final Shape. My name is u/PandaPaxxy and this has been a long breakdown. Potentially one of the largest to date. If you’re new here I make breakdowns on new weapons and let you know my opinion on what would be the best barrel, magazine, perks and masterwork for each new weapon. You can find last season’s breakdown here and the Into the Light Breakdown here. I am by no means the only guardian whose opinion should matter so please try these weapons yourself and see how they feel.
These weapons will be broken down by how they are obtained, sorted Kinetic, Energy, Heavy and then alphanumerically from there. Please enjoy!
The Final Shape aka Pale Heart weapons
Vendor Weapons - This includes Nightfall weapons
Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris Weapons
Let me know your favorite weapons from this season!
Thanks for sharing this Panda, many of us really appreciate your efforts. Will you be updating your DIM / Wishlist file? (or maybe it already has been?)
As a semi-newb to D2 still, how does one view Panda's DIM Wishlist file?
Is it a file I need to download from github and plug into DIM somehow, or, is the info once placed there by Panda show up in DIM? And if so how do I 'enable' his wisdom to I can view it?
Actually you just paste the link to his GitHub file within the settings of DIM.
Was this the voltron (default) one already on DIM that you're talking about?
How can I get the updated copy?
Thanks again! I always look forward to these! I swear I come back to check these like a million times when I get drops and am determining what to keep 🙂 very helpful 👍
Thanks for reading!!
Finally! I’ve been eagerly waiting like it was Christmas Eve!
Happy to help! Thanks for reading!
Oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Good shit brother <3
Thanks for reading!!!
At this point... Bungie needs to hire you on the weapons team bro. 😊 🙏
Mechanically speaking, Titan has a fixed amount of hitstun. Hitstun is the short period of time where after the sufferer gets hit, they will be unable to perform any action (blocking, attacking, moving) until hitstun is over. Naturally, attacks are balanced around this concept, with long hitstun attacks having long endlags and vice versa. Titan ignores this concept by always suffering the same super short hitstun period, which causes any attack with even a smidge longer endlag to be completely useless against the big man.
Whenever you take any of the tips other people will give you in this comment section, note this. Use those weapons on him without upgrading them first and see if you have any move that is usable against him. If your weapon has no attack that has shorter endlag than his hitstun, then your weapon is trash. For example: Kusarigama, Composite Sword, Sai, Glaive, etc.
Weapons that do work are Knuckles-type, Batons-type, Claws-type and Tonfas. Aim for them if you want to win, otherwise you're just playing a big game of luck, praying that Titan never ever takes the chance to hit you.
Wbu widows fans? Can I use that?
It will work but a few moves it has won't work
The attacks that work the most are single slash and double slash, sometimes up slash/down slash works.
Y'all are crazy bro,use any knuckle and just spam the lower attack,I won like this first try on eclipse no rounds lost
Lynx claws, flame clubs
Composite sword, trust
Bro actually spreading misinformation
Nah gng I am way too poor🙏
The Moon Sabers are the best weapon in the game. Amazing reach, pretty fast, good damage, and the combos are easy to connect. Beat Titan first try using them.
Edit: even better if you enchant them with Frenzy. And your magic with Frenzy. And your ranged weapon with Frenzy. And your armour with Damage Absorption.
Just want a idea so I know what to look for and stay away from
As of today the best are Maha vajra/vajra, anguisher/ruiner, muninn/huginn. Then evora/veyron and inferno/pyro.
I’m now using Evora/veyron over anguished / ruiner
Out of all the seasons in the helm right now what are some good weapons I should use harmonizers on before they all go away
Top weapons I’d aim for:
Defiance: Regnant (only really if you don’t have a good Edge Transit, can probably skip otherwise), Royal Executioner, Imperial Decree
Deep: Until Its Return
Witch: The Eremite, Semiotician
Wish: Scatter Signal, Supercluster, Doomed Petitioner
There are a fair few others that are still decent but these are probably the most important since they’re the best and some are really hard to replace.
I'd also add subjunctive and adhortative both of which are really good. Until it's return with cascade point is so fun lol
Oh shit yeah those too. Totally forgot about the Undying guns somehow.
Scatter Signal and Doomed Petitioner
If you can only pick one I'd go with scatter signal. Other good choices are subjunctive, adhorative and doomed petitioner
Scatter Signal
Scatter Signal
Hello everyone, I just started playing again after about a year. I have already purchased all the dlc and I would like to know what the meta was and what weapons and perk to look for. Thank you all
Forbearance, Ikelos smg, osteo striga, wish ender, the navigator, cold comfort, apex predator, riptide, quicksilver storm, leviathans breath, succession, heritage, conditional finality, witherhoard, New pacific epitaph, Izanagis burden, iterative loop, funnelweb, any machine gun (adaptive frame + killing tally my fav). As far as perks to look for most things with voltshot, incandescent, or kinetic tremors should be decent. Most subclasses are viable but stasis is the weakest. Meta builds for titan- solar bonk and strand abeyant leap. Warlock- solar sunbracers and arc fallen sunstar. Hunter- void gyrfalcons/omnioculus and arc assassins cowl. For dps rockets are king. Reconstruction, bait and switch, envious assassin, explosive light, auto loading holster, field prep, and clown cartridge are perks to look for on rockets.
PvE? PvP?
weapon types or specific weapons?
With exotics and builds around them, or not?
PvE, specific weapons
Virtually anything you can get from a raid with few exceptions. I just finished farming for wave frame forebearance GL and plan to finish patterns for commemoration machinegun. Other notables - Hothead from zavala, chillclip riptide from shax. Quicksilver is the best exotic primary. The most recent dungeon drops awesome loot. Some older exotics, like wishender, thunderlord, izzy, withehoard, still shine. Overall, there are a ton of decent guns. It largely depends on the content you plan to run.
PvE helps, but something that would help more would be your class (Titan, Lock, or Hunter). Meta weapons PvE wise here are some good ones:
(I’m not gonna go into detail on how to get each one, just look it up or smthn.)
For Ad Clear:
Osteo Striga -
This will always be the king (or one of the kings) of ad clear. It has quick fire rate with a spreading poison that makes it near impossible to run out of ammo as long as there is ads. Pair this with something like necromancy gloves and you’ll be a machine.
Thunderlord -
This is sort of a catch all exotic. This gun with catalyst will stampede almost any activity you run. This also isn’t bad for Boss DPS. Not the best, but if you LFG for a raid you won’t get too many nasty comments for running this.
Conditional Finality -
Just a super good shotgun. A champion stunning machine. It’s a somewhat hard to get exotic though because it’s the raid exotic from RoN.
These three guns will define your build if you can get your hands on them. They are all exotics, but you’ll just need one of them to wipe whole troves of ads. I personally find all three of these guns a ton of fun to use. For your legendary weapons just throw on something that’s fun or compensates for where you’re lacking. Pulse or Scout if you’re struggling with long range. I also find fusion rifles to go great with any of these weapons, and a Chill Clip / Auto Loading Holster Riptide is a great way to go about that. Cartesian Coordinate won’t do you wrong either though.
Boss Damage:
Blowout OR Hothead OR Apex Predator -
These three are rocket launchers that drop from different activities. Go to Light.GG for a more in-depth roll guide cause I don’t want to type all that out. Apex Predator with Recon. Bait and Switch is my go to, but none are bad.
Cataclysmic OR Briars OR Taipan (I Guess) -
I really think Cataclysmic is my favorite heavy gun in the game. It’s a super strong boss dps machine that has a ton of ammo reserves. Go for something like Fourth Times and Clown Cartridge or Fourth Times and Bait and Switch.
Gjallahorn -
This weapon is more of a weapon to buff other peoples weapons, but it makes it so you don’t have to spend a ton of time running for good rocket launcher rolls.
Lament -
For up close and personal bosses, Lament is never a bad choice. You won’t see this one used as much as the others, but it’s not exactly uncommon either.
Who cares? Just use what’s fun.
