TL;DR For wireless headphones, the Sony WH-1000XM4 (referred to as M4) and Sennheiser Momentum 4 are highly recommended for their sound quality and features. For budget options under $5k, consider Noise Airwave Max 5 or Soundcore Q20i.
Sony WH-1000XM4
The Sony WH-1000XM4 is frequently recommended due to its excellent sound quality and Bluetooth capabilities [4:1]
[4:2]. While they are at the higher end of the budget range, users find them worth the investment for their superior audio experience. However, caution is advised when using them in environments with moisture or heat, such as gyms, as this can lead to damage over time
[4:3].
Sennheiser Momentum 4
Another strong contender is the Sennheiser Momentum 4, praised for its sound quality and available refurbished from the official Sennheiser page [4:4]. Users have found good deals on second-hand models, making them an attractive option for those looking to save money while still getting high-quality headphones
[4:5].
Budget Options
For those seeking more affordable options, especially under 5k, the Noise Airwave Max 5 and Soundcore Q20i are recommended [5:1]. These models offer decent performance without active noise cancellation, which some users prefer due to dizziness caused by ANC
[5]. The Jlab Jbuds Lux is another option mentioned for budget-conscious buyers
[5:2].
Considerations for Gym Use
While over-ear headphones like the Sony WH-1000XM4 and Sennheiser Momentum 4 provide great sound quality, they may not be ideal for gym use due to potential exposure to sweat and humidity [4:3]. Investing in cheaper earbuds specifically for workouts might be a practical solution
[4:1].
For a franchise show this is really incredible, let alone a STAR WARS SHOW. I’m glad they got at least one win on the main broadcast too. We are really so fortunate to have gotten such an incredible production made by such passionate and outstanding creatives. I would be shocked if we see a Star Wars show even be nominated for an Outstanding Writing Emmy ever again. I’m rooting for that day and I hope Lucasfilm takes the right lessons from Andor.
It wouldn't be a r/StarWars post if the top comment wasn't disparaging Star Wars.
We are like the r/howardstern subreddit
I’m not disparaging Star Wars. Ive been a fan for essentially my entire life, so I know the average quality of the franchise and how great of an exception Andor is. I also know what these industry organizations tend to nominate, and it’s usually not installments in long running franchises like Star Wars. I like the MCU too, but I don’t expect any of those movies or shows to win awards outside of a tech category here and there let alone awards for writing. All I meant was to celebrate Andor as an achievement, and hope Lucasfilm allows skilled creatives play in the universe with similar freedom to what Gilroy & co got to do with this show.
The show was fantastic. It was so much better than it had any right to be.
Agree, I would’ve only been disappointed if Andor walked away with 0 wins during the main show since I think it deserves at least some recognition. Otherwise all the winners were absolutely deserved. The Pitt came out of nowhere and stole the year, I’m happy that Noah Wyle essentially got a lifetime achievement award and won for the show he helped write & produce.
To be fair, many things peaked in The Clone Wars Mandalore arc, I honestly think that's the best thing Filoni ever wrote.
I can’t swim…
I like to picture that he found a way out.
What?!
Won. Way. Out!
Pretty solid haul for a show that didn’t have a ton of crossover appeal in the mainstream and was going up against the phenomenon that is The Pitt (which is another outstanding show, hard to be upset about any award Andor lost to it).
that little tape down part is broken because I dropped them but oh well🥶 they look even more broken down from other angles, but I’m only allowed to put one picture
They broke 🥲 I’m so upset I need to get new ones but have no money

Mine also looks like that, (Not the same headphones of course) so i eventually got for my birthday (half a year ago) a new pair but then the newer version of the one i had, and its just isn’t the same, i regret getting the newer version, i do wear it now but the other one i could wear all day and don’t even notice i have them on or hurt at all and i found the sound quality also a lot better on my older ones so i wear the older one more but its just looks ugly and i get all kind of the pieces in my hair so i have to say goodbye to it.
So, over the last couple of days I have fallen in love with Athlytic - it is the perfect balance of nerd and simple for my taste, and it gives me just enough insights to keep me motivated on my fitness journey. I have also, over the past couple of years, slowly fallen out of love with the Apple watch. I still like the hardware, but a bit of variety on my wrist would be nice, plus not having to charge the damn thing every day would be a bonus.
I would, in short, love to go back to wearing a (preferably) screen-less fitness band and a mechanical watch, but would also settle for a third party watch (e.g. Garmin) with a longer battery life.
My question to you guys in this subreddit is the following: which fitness bands and/or watches do you know of, that would sync all relevant data to Apple Health that would still let me take advantage of Athlytic? Specifically HRV, resting HR, wrist temp, SpO2, respiration rate, sleep (time is OK, cycles would be brilliant). Also doable are third party sync solutions, if those can also work.
Suggestions and experiences welcome and appreciated!
P.S. I know this is not directly related to Athlytic, but my focus here is to get an alternative hardware that would let me keep using Athlytic
Also curious to know if and when Helio Strap will push HRV data to apple health. Essentially that’s the key. Athlytic pulls what it can from Apple.
You and me both buddy. I mean, I get it that the manufacturers want to keep people on their ecosystems, but as an end user, having your entire data in one platform (whether Apple health or Google fit) just makes sense. Makes it easier to switch hardware without losing data, and this is even one of the areas where Apple even ALLOWS this integration and manufacturers still only use the bare minimum
Bro I got so excited at that thread! And then one of the staff commented on it and watered down my enthusiasm
Amazfit Helio strap
I considered that, but I have heard that it doesnt sync HRV data, which is the fundamental metric Athlytic uses. Do you have experience otherwise?
Apparently it syncs on the latest beta
Sorry I don’t know
I have this equipment too. It is ridiculously cheap. My only issue is that I would like to be able to see sleep scores on a monthly calendar view just like Athlytic.
Hi guys, I am looking for decent wireless bluetooth headphones (not earpuds, and bluetooth mandatory to use it with my phone in gym)
Budget: 200$ - 300$
Location: EU
Thanks for all of your suggestion, Best regards!
I find it hard not to recommend the M4. Once you get used to the sound quality you cannot go back 🥲
If you have money, you can buy any decent brand, because none of them have any IP certification and sooner or later they will fail in something because you use them for the gym, and you will need a replacement, now if not, the M4s are completely ruled out, even if you say that you don't sweat, simply because of the heat that turns into humidity, yes or yes, it will no longer work, I have some M4s that I only use by cable because they broke down after 2 years and 3 months and they are no longer useful. In fact, for the gym, the most recommended are the in-ear ones, I don't know why you discard them, but by construction they have a good seal and good IP certification, just look for ones that fit well in your ear, and the rest is just custom, it's my opinion.
Momentum 4 I guess. Just ordered mine refurbed from the official Sennheiser Page.
M4 for sure. If you consider second hand it's great. I found a pair like new at 130 EUR
I got my M4 for $300 on sale at Best Buy. I know that’s the top of your price range, but there isn’t much better as Bluetooth goes.
I’d invest in some cheap earbuds for the gym tho. I know you don’t like them. I don’t either. But it’s workout equipment, not luxury goods, you know?
Hi..am fairly new into this headphone things. Can you please suggest a head phone under 5k. I don't want ANC as I get dizzy with that. But a good battery life will be helpful. Am a rookie so please help me out.
Jlab jbuds lux
Aren't they on ear??
Nope they are over ear
Noise airwave max 5 and soundcore q20i. Ig these r the best under 5k. U can compare these with the other geadphone.. there are lots of YT videos
Yeah..there are so many videos it kinda gets overwhelming. So i thought this might be a better area th ask... But also thanks alot . soundcire was in my list too.
But u r late buddy..U could have got noise airwave max 5 for 3500 last week in noise sale
Hey guys! I’ve been using AirPods Pro 2 since launch and overall they’ve been great. I mostly use them for studying with ANC + background sounds, but there are still certain noises they can’t block (I live in a really busy part of Europe with constant traffic, loud people, music, etc., and my apartment isn’t well soundproofed).
Question: is there any pair of wireless headphones that actually offer noticeably better noise cancellation than the AirPods Pro 2? Either earbuds / over ear, doesn't matter. Would love your recommendations!
The Sony wh XM6 likely does. For me headphone ANC is better than buds.
If you want to stay in the apple eco system.
The APP 3 will be announced next week. All things indicating it can be a real game changer.
If you dont care about apple and iphones. get the Sony.
If you truly just wan to get an over ear or anything that blocks as much as is possible to block and perfect calls are important. Bose, but the sound of them are pretty meh. I had the 700 in my day, I think... not sure.. the QC is the one right now.
ANC isn't some magic soundproofing. Nothing will block all that out but ear plugs
The thing with any ear bud is isolation. As in they don’t isolate very well.
Maybe a first step would be to buy some Comply foam tips for the AirPods and see how that works for you.
From all accounts the Sony WF series still have the best ANC, but I prefer the linkbuds s + earmuffs for really nousy environments like around construction/flights/power tools.
For those of you who dont want to spend $150+ for Minelab branded wireless headphones, i bought this $14 Wireless Bluetooth Transmitter off Amazon and works with any Bluetooth headphones or earbuds. Using it with my Minelab Xterra Pro, I added a Velcro strap that wraps around the coil connector cable. (Just to be safe). Used it for the first time Saturday and worked flawlessly (and the color even matches the display unit for the most part)
I don’t understand… I use an equinox 600 and can hook 3rd party wireless headphones up with it. Can you not with other Minelab products?
Same here. This would be a workaround for my XP Deus II that uses some stupid homemade radio protocol, but Minelab (at least Equinox)? Any BT headphones works just fine without any redundant BT transmitters?
You are correct about the deus, I thought it was lame that I could use third party with the equinox 600 but not the deus II which cost me more than double. I’ve heard it’s because it uses a different kind of tech than Bluetooth… not sure though. One other thing maybe worth mentioning is I was able to use Bluetooth headphones on the equinox 600 but when I submerged the machine silly me didn’t realize the Bluetooth won’t work underwater haha
Did you notice any lag between where the object was and when it blooped in the headphones? I know some BT transmitters take their time passing on the noises they get on their inputs.
No lag that I could tell
Curious about this too. Because don’t the Minelab headphones use a different technology than Bluetooth that’s has the fastest response time?
I second this. Bought one myself and works perfectly!
Do you have a part number? I can’t find it on Amazon
Nice
Ah. Makes sense that they would remove compatibility and make things worse for the customers/users with their latest and most expensive detector for no other reason than to squeeze out more money. Greedy pigs (just like XP).
I'm looking for some headphones that have really good bass. I want to be able to clearly hear the bass without distortion.
Noise cancelation would be nice but not necessary since I'll only be using them at home.
I'm willing to spend up to $2,000, with the potential to go slightly higher if the headphones are truly worth every penny. The headphones must be wireless since I'll primarily be using them with my iPhone (no headphone jack).
Audeze Maxwell?
What's your experience with them?
Had them for over a year. Use them on PS5 for gaming and chat, and music via BT on my mobile
They are heavy and uncomfortable sometimes, even with custom headband and earpads.
But they have incredible sound quality, it makes it hard for me, as I often want to replace them with something lighter and more comfy, but once you get used to the sound...it's neutral and has amazing bass, but not booming obvious bass like most people are used to with headsets, especially gaming ones. But these are powerful drivers, you can feel the air and pressure vibrate within the earpads...quite amazing. Everything is very crisp and clear, which I think is why alot of people complain about the bass on Maxwell, because it's neutral and not being artificially boosted and washing everything thing else out.
At mega volumes and loud bass it can get clipping/static pops, but you have to really go really loud and have your bass EQ up there for it to happen...but not sure it should happen at all tbh. It doesn't happen enough to ruin anything for me, just gotta not blow my ears out that volume...
My first pair were b-stocks, and they had the popping alot worse, so Audeze replaced it with a new updated (pegs) model for no extra cost.
Also amazing battery life, huge wifi/Bluetooth range, great mic and noise isolation.
Feel free to ask me anything else if I can help.
I thought the Bathys had good bass, but they are also noise canceling. Maybe try them out to determine if you like them.
Noble Fokus Apollo. Maybe Bathys MG with EQ adjustments or Dali IO-12 in bass mode, but I don’t think it will be enough for you. H100 has good bass but you’ll sacrifice other aspects. Apollo is probably what you want.
I don't know what they did with the IO-12, but bass mode is muddy and crap. You can EQ on the source and get a lot better bass and plenty. However, the real bass kick and general audio quality of the IO-12 comes out if you drive it via 3.5mm cable and a good DAC/Amp (2Watt=<).
ANC is rather subpar, though.
I've read people comparing Apollo to Bathys. Which one do you think has better bass capability? I'm mainly focusing on headphones with good bass than anything else. They also have to be comfortable because I'll be wearing them for hours at a time.
Definitely Apollo for bass. I find Apollo very comfortable and much more comfortable than the original Bathys, but this varies by head. Bathys MG are quite comfortable for me too. Apollo are my suggestion.
I would really consider the Cambridge Melomania P100 SE, which is an update of the P100. They were released a few weeks ago. The P100 SE has been getting rave reviews. I love mine and at $299 they punch way above their price. Great app. I also love my Bang and Olufsen H95’s and H100’s. B&O have some haters….but I’d never part with mine. Again great app to EQ these. H95’s are definitely in your budget. H100’s are pretty steep. Also can enthusiastically agree on the FoKus Apollo which sits in the middle price wise. If you can’t listen ahead, buy, compare and return. It’s just a part of it these days.
I was gonna bring up some advice but now that I see his price your right
I want to get a new pair of headphones but not really sure what to get since I’ve been out of the audio tech space for a while. I’ll be switching from AirPod pros so I’d want to have the same seamless connectivity with both iOS and macs, a balanced audio (maybe a bit higher bass since I listen to hip hop and rnb) and be able to use them while going out or playing sports without them digging into my skull. I don’t necessarily have a budget but I don’t want to break the bank so ideally less than £200 and available in the UK. I’ll answer any questions needed for preferences if that helps make an informed decision
At £200 you're best looking at things like the Momentum 4, Sony XM4 or XM5, PX7 S2, Bose Quiet Comfort, Soundcore Space One pros. None are objectively better at this price point just depends what you want.
If you want bass heavy and are open to over ears then you can get Sony Ult Wear for about £100 and their entire goal is bass.
Airpods pro 2
Right? How is this even a question since they gotta be buds for "sports" anyway.
I was recommended the Bang and Olufsen H9i and they turned out to be great although I rarely hear it in audiophile channels. I would expect the newer models would be good as well. Once in a while they go on sale.
I reckon it's the momentum 4's In 200 range
Should be lots of specials on B&W PX7 S2e, now that S3 is out. I still use Airpods Pro, but prefer the S2e for listening to music. Similar tonality, IMHO. And I much prefer headphones to in-ears.
I need wireless earbuds. I'm not much of a tech person but I was wondering kung anong best brand for this. Mainly what I'll be using it for is:
I narrowed down a few brands but I'm still open for suggestions. Di ko sigurado if these models cover all my needs above but I'm still open for suggestions. Budget is less than 2k!
anker r50i anc
I actually just bought this! Thank you!
Options 1&2 are ok, I'd be wary of options 3&4, they might be fake lalo na yung mashall. Also for suggestions, consider anker earbuds, they have bugdet prices starting from 500-1.2k php and yung higher tier would be 4k
Haylou Mori Pro ANC!!
Space travel is good
Oppo enco buds 2K lang. paired with my iphone hehe. super good po siyaz
best wireless headphones
Key Considerations for Choosing Wireless Headphones:
Sound Quality: Look for headphones with good audio performance, including balanced bass, mids, and highs. Brands like Sony, Bose, and Sennheiser are known for excellent sound quality.
Battery Life: Aim for headphones with at least 20-30 hours of battery life on a single charge. Quick charging features can also be beneficial.
Comfort and Fit: Choose headphones that are comfortable for long listening sessions. Over-ear designs typically provide better comfort and noise isolation compared to on-ear or in-ear models.
Noise Cancellation: If you often listen in noisy environments, consider headphones with active noise cancellation (ANC) to block out background noise.
Connectivity: Ensure the headphones support the latest Bluetooth version (5.0 or higher) for better range and connectivity stability. Look for features like multipoint pairing if you want to connect to multiple devices.
Additional Features: Consider features like touch controls, voice assistant integration, and water resistance if you plan to use them during workouts.
Recommendations:
Sony WH-1000XM5: Known for outstanding sound quality, excellent noise cancellation, and up to 30 hours of battery life. They are comfortable for long wear and have a sleek design.
Bose QuietComfort 45: Renowned for their comfort and effective noise cancellation, these headphones also offer great sound quality and around 24 hours of battery life.
Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Generation): If you’re in the Apple ecosystem, these offer great sound quality, effective noise cancellation, and seamless integration with Apple devices. They also provide around 30 hours of battery life with the charging case.
Choosing the right pair depends on your specific needs, such as whether you prioritize sound quality, noise cancellation, or comfort.
