Red Tape Edition. Genuinely like this movie, good acting, good actors, definitely worth watching if you've missed this one.
Did you make this? So cool
Yeah I make loads of different one.
Beautiful. How do you make the colored tapes?
I appreciate the old style (and best style) BBFC rating
The old way is the best 👌
Omg I have to have one
🔥🔥
The new world video logo placement on the tape makes it look like he’s holding a waffle from a distance haha
Who has seen the movie? Can we talk about it? Dissect it? I thought it was such a good movie.
Man, the twist of this movie! My grandma would have been correcting anything she saw on the screen.
Was there a favorite scene or meaning you liked?
I like how it showed the Asian family's ability to literally flow between two communities by crossing a street. Which is a pretty good visual on their place between communities.
The vultures circling the house as the Natives leave the plan house while Remmick was inside.
Marie being able to pass and Stack being avoidant of her.
Sammie not letting that damn guitar go 😭.
Apparently Smoke and Stack are the cause of the St. Valentines day massacre.
Sooo much more.
Talking about haints and how to deal with them. Accidentally buying something you couldn’t afford. Ironically, in the movie, Smoke took the wooden nickels because he recognized the market.
I can’t blame Sammie for keeping that guitar.
Delroy Lindo stole every scene especially one.
I thought it was so good. It was fun to see the relationships build between the characters as they all got ready for the grand opening. The joy of music and the generational dance montage REALLY got to me.
I like how they alluded to power using money/violence/ritualism. I liked the play on neo liberalism through the vampires (we're just like you, join us)
MBJ killed it as the twins. I felt each character separately and their relationship was palpable. As with the rest of the cast!
Overall I think the movie was great
The theater rattled during the dance scene. It was thunderous. Also seeing the Zaouli dancers too me by surprise. Was not expecting to see that at all.
Three klan selling that place and expecting it to close to make more money made me shake my head.
🎶They say the truth hurts, so I lied to you 🎶 My favorite line 🤩🤩🤩
I liked it way more than I ever thought I would.
Glad it wasn’t the stereotypical black man falls for white woman and ruins everything even though he technically did lol.
I loved Smoke and Annie their relationship was beautiful.
Preacher Boy was great! Can’t believe that this is his debut look forward to seeing him, Annie and Pearline in more things.
Loved the music, the humor, the cinematography, and how cathartic it felt.
From the excellent word of mouth it’s getting its feeling like this may be the next cultural phenomenon. Sorely needed in these dark days of Trumps.
Wunmi mosaku (sp) is an incredibly talented actress. She's been around for a long time, I first saw her in the British zombie show In The Flesh. Check out His House for her in another horror movie.
Once I saw Annie in Lovecraft Co. I just kneeeew I would love her in other things. She's really great!! I have to catch up on her previous roles.
I loved the way they demonstrated how hypnotizing music is.
The interview really got this movie stuck in my to watch list, and i finally saw it today.
All i can say is wow. Fantastic music. Great Character development. Costuming beautiful. The villans look just normal enough to make them very creepy.
Best movie I’ve seen in a long time.
You don’t see many movies do you?
That music video scene is probably the best representation about what it's like to make music in the moment. Incredible film
When there's past and future black artists etc? I disliked that scene because I wish they played it straight the whole way. It felt a bit pretentious tbh.
Why do you feel it was pretentious?
It was incredible, I want to go back and try and catch every nuance.
It’s an incredible shot, all one take with all that choreography
One of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time! Definitely getting the score on vinyl when it’s released. The promos made it sound so goofy but it was anything but, you can tell so much heart and passion was put into every aspect of it.
Ha yeah totally agree about the promos. I shrugged it off when the promos first came out, but when i caught up to that episode it changed my mind. His reasonings really intrigued me. I think i might go back and relisten since its been a couple months now.
Definitely dig through some old delta stuff, but don’t sleep on the innovative Buddy Guy!
His album “Sweet Tea” is so goddamn dope I can’t stand it. “Baby Please Don’t Leave Me,” and especially “I Gotta Try You Girl” are standouts for me, but it’s all killer no filler.
I need Eddie to make a delta blues playlist. Agreed on all points!
Agreed! The opening music told me, if everything else sucked at least i was going to enjoy the music.
This shit rocks, it feels like I've stepped into an alternate dimension of contemporary moviegoing. I've already seen it twice but neither has been in IMAX, so I'm gonna hit round 3 this weekend.
Did you find the movie changed for you upon second viewing? Saw with a friend / debating bringing my gf for a second go around.
i went for the second time tonight and totally recommend going again if you have a chance. special move to see in theaters.
I already loved it on a first watch, but the major difference was that I had actually gotten a good night's sleep the second time around, so it managed to land even harder since I didn't have a throbbing headache. But even with that aside, I felt knowing what was coming allowed me to better sit in each moment and appreciate the details and atmosphere more.
Seeing it in IMAX was a blast.
Was always my favorite scene in the trailer, but watching them all prep their weapons to fight and lighting the Molotov and following into formation was incredible in IMAX.
That and the flashback to them riding in the car, playing the guitar. Stunning
I’m going again this weekend for sure. I’ve had the soundtrack on all week
The other part of this is coming out of Oppenheimer they’ve figured out you can market certain movies based on the large format experience. Dune, Brutalist, and now this all tapped into it. Coogler’s Kodak video was the most effective piece of marketing this movie had.
It’s the exact type of film people have been asking for when you think about it. People actually showed up for once.
I saw it in the IMAX on opening night and I swear to god it was the most incredible experience I’ve had since the day in 1999 that I said “I have never heard of any of this shit I guess I’ll go see whatever the hell The Matrix is”
I’m so ecstatic I got to see “that scene” without even knowing that there was a “that scene” to look out for

I guess the argument is there that it's not horror, but for me the atmosphere is creepier than most horror movies I've seen.
The Sinner sub is kinda dead and the show gets some gruff, so I was hoping I'd find some of my people in here.
Jessica Biel is a gem. I really enjoyed the series. I thought it had a strong plot and was nicely delivered.
I would classify it as horror/suspense. Definitely had the tensions up.
I’ve just started the second season, but it’s in my top 3 dark dramas. It’s a phenomenal show.
I enjoyed both seasons a lot. I would call it horror for sure
I agree
I loved the slow burn of season 1, it really keeps you guessing until the end
I really like the sinner, but I’ve found that each season’s ending is kinda lame. Love the bulk of the show, though.
I figured out what I loved about Sinners and why I think the phrase “normie masterpiece” has been thrown around so much. It’s because it kinda embodies the spirit of cinema’s past. Where you have a new block buster movie that’s not based on any previous movie, it’s very well made, is appealing to a huge audience, and is fun to watch.
That was such nonsense when he dropped that term. “Oh this movie is good but it’s in a lot of theaters and other people I think I’m smarter than like it. It’s a NORMIE masterpiece.” Dude, get over yourself and allow yourself to enjoy a movie for once.
The older he gets the more jaded he is
"not based on any previous movie"
If you reduce the movies to the most reductive, context-less way possible, you could say they are similar, but otherwise, they couldnt be any more different.
But yeah I guess I am reducing things and ignoring context.
I mean, ‘brothers are in a bar when vampires attack’ is pretty specific.
But when it comes to tone, direction, themes, subtext, atmosphere, etc., these are extremely different movies.
Nah it’s a shot at the movie for not being subtle enough for cinephile tastes. It’s ridiculous.
Holy shit this poster is so much better than the two regular ones, kinda look ass
Do you happen to know if this version is for sale anywhere? It's the best one I've seen so far.
1930s style for 1930s set movie. It works
This is the first good Sinners poster
It means it appeals to the cliche appetite that general audiences have. Well made but doesn’t do anything new
I am on the 8th episode I think, and I absolutely love it. A friend just told me that if I keep watching after the first season, I would deeply regret the wasted time. Would you agree ? and PLEASE no spoilers.
And one more request : Could you please recommend a show or a movie that is somewhat similar to season 1. Preferably on Netflix.
Thanks in advance.
I liked the first and second season much more than the third. I really wanted to like the third season too because I like Matt Bomer, but it was just ok.
I agree with your friend. I liked the first season but didn’t like the other 2.
I wouldn't be as drastic as your friend, but I do agree that season 1 is clearly the best of them.
The first one is the best, in my opinion. The third one is better than the second. But all pretty decent
Many thanks.
The way the whole film hits from it’s editing, color grading, diverse selection of actors, characters with actual personalities, unique spin on the creature, music choices, and overall flow of the story, it just hits so well each scene. It’s such a delight to watch, and I love how it incorporated blues music and dancing with the devil thought into this.
Started strong and underwhelming 2nd half. Parang pilit masyado yung horror. Baduy
Agree. Too hyped for me. Nice concept and cinematography pero something else deserves best movie
best movie this year
The dance sequence is the best film scene this year
Love the OST ❤️ naalala ko din talaga dusk til dawn sakanya
I love the music. Though I would say na simple lang 'yung kwento pero talaga maganda 'yung execution. Medyo dragging lang 'yung first half. Sobrang intense nung confrontation with Cornbread na hindi makapasok. Vampires are the "villains" of the movie but killing the Klan members is still the more satisfying hahaha.
AND IT TOOK THIS BROTHER THREE MONTHS TO WRITE THE MOVIE. AND THE MOVIE WAS BASED OFF STORIES TOLD TO HIM BY HIS UNCLE. NOT TO MENTION HES THE ONE WHO GAVE MICHEAL B JORDAN HIS BIG BREAK. THEYVE BEEN WORKING FOR DECADES TOGETHER.
He didn’t give Michael B. Jordan his big break. Dude was a child actor on the Wire and was in Hardball, and he was in Red Tails and Chronicle the year before Fruitvale Station.
And Friday night lights tv show
So Coogler pulling a Master P. Nice. Some more of it.
Wait. Wait...
Makin' 'em say Ugh
i just left from seeing it earlier it’s a 10/10, first time in awhile i seen the movies packed out like that.
I got used to not going to theaters because there’s nothing worth it BUT (pulls up pants and opens AMC app)
Yes bro. Im trying to get my white friend to see it haha. Plus my dad and mom.
man I'm bout to buy another ticket RN. I didn't know none of this, but yeah we def gotta make sure this successful now
this is my first time watching the show and I want to see people's opinions
Season 1 was my favorite! Loved how it was different and kept you interested, but the seasons after that went down hill for me.
Season 1 was good, season 2 was absolute dogshit. That kid is annoying as fuck
Too drawn out.
Sooooo good
Season 1 great, season 2 I even liked better (most like 1st better I’d say), and 3rd really failed . But if you know that going in it may help. Really it’s the actors that are the great thing about season 3 - Pullman, boomer and Messina. The writing went so far left and really failed the development of Ambrose.
