Cloud's Weapons
For Cloud, the Hardedge is a popular choice among players due to its high attack power [2:2]. However, some players prefer using the Buster Sword for its iconic status and balanced stats, only switching to other swords to unlock their abilities
[2:3]. The Iron Blade is also favored for its Trade-Off ability, which allows MP regeneration, making it valuable in hard mode runs
[2:1].
Tifa's Weapons
Tifa's Metal Knuckles are often recommended for maximizing her attack damage [2:2]. Players appreciate the aggressive playstyle these weapons enable, allowing Tifa to deal significant physical damage in battles.
Aerith's Weapons
For Aerith, the Mythril Rod is highlighted as the best option for maximizing her magic damage output [2:2]. This weapon is ideal for players who focus on using Aerith's magical abilities to support the party and deal elemental damage.
Barret's Weapons
Barret's Big Bertha is noted for its effectiveness, providing a balance between attack power and utility [2:2]. This weapon is suitable for players who want Barret to serve as both a tank and a damage dealer.
General Weapon Strategy
Players often recommend upgrading weapon skills to level 6 to maximize materia slots, allowing for greater flexibility in combat strategies [2:4]. Additionally, weapons with the Trade-Off ability and HP increases are valued for their utility in sustaining characters during tough battles
[2:5].
Overall, while specific weapons like the Hardedge, Metal Knuckles, Mythril Rod, and Big Bertha are frequently mentioned, the choice of weapons can depend on personal playstyle preferences and strategic needs in different parts of the game.
I think this guy spam attacked me because when I got on a few years ago i picked up a dragon buster sword S re dragon buster sword re and long sword S re which really helped me out and some other guy gave me a special forces shovel E which does like 5k+ DMG and I'm wondering are these weps gonna make the entire floor 30-40 easy because I've been grinding out my armor so all I need are good weps
Yea, it'll be a breeze now. I need to get lucky like this. 😭
I've just reached 40f, and completed Taro. But I feel under geared. Best thing I have is hornet saber tdm +4. Which is only like 1k DMG.
I barely got to 35 lmao most of my armor is still 3 star including my weapons
That's crazy I've just been keeping them in storage and not only that I got some mushrooms that can completely repair it
Pretty useful, I'd use the dragon buster to tackle white steel (hard) anything you get will be great. Not too much rival forcemen gear.
You can always join the discord and ask someone there to drop stuff
Where can I find the discord
I think the shovel guy hit me too! They've left me 2-3 shovels with 5k+ DMG and I haven't had to use them yet, but they're greatly appreciated.
That's actually crazy bro
Hey guys I just beat the game and I’m on chapter 4 on Hard mode now. What weapon do you tend to use the most for each character?
I was thinking of sticking with Hard Edge for Cloud in most of the run but having Nail Bat seems fun to use in cutscenes but I’m not sure the crit-based weapon is good to use. What are your thoughts?
Cloud: Hardedge Tifa: Metal Knuckles Aerith: Mythril Rod Barret: Big Berta
I have cloud and Tifa have highest attack damage they can have and Aeris have most magic damage with this setup
Does hardedge have as many materia slots as the others?
Once you upgrade your weapon skills to level 6, each weapon I believe can have max materia slots as long as those are the sp slots you choose.
For Cloud I just stuck with the buster sword and only used the other swords to unlock their abilities
For the others I swapped around a lot
Anything with Trade Off + a lot of HP increases
my favorite is the buster sword. i just started my hard mode run and i’m using the iron blade simply for the fact it has trade-off. regaining that MP is clutch. it also has reprieve
Seven-coil spring sword is one of my favorite weapons from any game ever. The moveset, the fucking slam down flame pillar fable art, and the DRIP. I keep trying out difderent weapons but nothing comes close to the FUN of this weapon to me. Although the exploding pick is pretty awesome too.
Just picked this game up since it's free this month and can't believe I slept on it, its fantastic. I've played all the from games and this is right up there with the best of em imo.
I just started using it on my 4th playthrough and can't believe I ever used anything else. This is also my first motivity build so that might have to do with it. It is really well balanced.
I've never used it and I feel like I've been missing out. Guess it's time to play through again.
Fair warning you may never use a different weapon ever again
Op I don’t know when you started playing but I religiously used that boss weapon until the dlc Your a man of class
Try mjolnir with police baton handle
I don't think I'll ever be able to put down the monad rose sword. The fable arts make boss fights a joke.
I cleared the level 4 black rabbit brotherhood fight (#2) in 21 seconds.
Tbh it is just matter of preference. And as a PoH enjoyer outside of seeing it as P/Carlo's canon weapon it is basically the weapon I cannot set down permanently. Probably because the fable arts go hard as hell.
I feel like the Rose Monad Sword is Carlo’s canon weapon after experiencing the DLC. Lea is his teacher, and it gives it to him to continue her legacy as a Stalker. Proof of Humanity was most likely created by Geppetto for the Nameless Puppet, so aside from the name, it doesn’t carry the same emotional baggage as the RMS does.
Not everybody enjoys being... The Storm That Is Approaching!!!... i sure as hell do!!!
I love this type of weapon in Souls games, the great swords, but in Lies I prefer the smaller and faster ones, like sabers and the umbrella.
There's alot of those types of weapons I'm excited to try for sure. I usually do a strength build first in souls likes.
Yeah it's a bit like the Claymore of LoP.
It's not the "best" weapon, but it just feels so good to use, it does so many things right.
Really really good basic moveset, Parry is the best skill in the game, the Blasphemous Blade wave is a bit mediocre but it's good at what it does (bait enemies to chase you, then turn around and nuke them all in a line).
It also has overtuned fable charge, which means you can basically Parry + R2 constantly.
Super solid all around weapon, top 5 for sure.
Whats the best boss weapons and the best normal weapon combination for each builds (str, dex and adv)?
Salamander dagger, electric coil, acidic spear, and azure crescent glaive
Those 3 adv weapons will carry you through the game. The electric coil in particular will trivialize otherwise "tough" bosses like romeo and NP, especially if you synergize both its fable arts.
Totally. I've been using the electric coil and have been breezing through the game at a good pace. Just beat the black rabbits in malum district, although tough did it in one try.
I finished the game with the Puppet Saber Blade. Used no other weapon. Has such an awesome moveset
Ripper
Can someone explain to me please why Puppet Ripper is good?
I get that the R2s have a bit of range, and can clip through walls, but is that it? The fable arts don't seem very good at all, like quite bad actually.
I admit it's probably my favorite looking weapon, and from one of my favorite bosses, but I genuinely never understood why people rate it so highly?
Fable arts are not good? 👀 I thought they're great. One powerful cut vs a single enemy, another is a mighty twister against a gang. It's a great weapon to explore the area, not a first and best choice against bosses but it does good nonetheless
+1 Trident and it's crits just slap. Twin Dragons is better for style points though (especially if you can use the heavy attack perfect parry)
The problem with the twin dragons is it makes the game too easy because it interrupts their combos. Any parry that interrupts the combo instead of requiring you to parry each one individually will always lower the total amount of parries you have to do per fight, and after a bit of practice, you learn the timings pretty easily. In terms of difficulty and skill, the trident is still harder to use, despite being incredibly strong.
>especially
I'd say only if you can use the heavy parry consistently. If not, it'd kind of a mid weapon.
Trident is goated
I used the azure dragon crescent glaive pretty much the whole time with a motivity build. Got me to ng+4. Don't know if it's the best but it's solid
Hard disagree. Bloodhound Fang is at least top 5. Backhand Blades with Blind Spot are better than Nagakiba. No Katana deserves to be in the top 10 imo.
How in the world is Bloodhound fang top 5. Definitely for starting weapons but it’s just outclassed in dps by all the weapons on this list.
BHF has 939 AR on a 80/80 quality build. That’s more than guts Greatsword. It also has much higher dps than Nagakiba or Darkmoon. It also is reliable against 99% of the enemies, which Marais GS isn’t. It just an all round superb weapon
Even though nagakiba has better range + possibly more variety with AOWs, I think that BHF can have more utility to most players with all of these positives;
+ its one of the only somber weapons that can get buffed (which means double dipping into bleed with Bloodflame Blade)
+ the skill is absolutely busted (i-frame dodge w/ good damage followup)
+ bonus damage w/ jumping attacks for the hell of it (10% boost, I still don't know if this is intentional or a bug, but if From has left it in this long its a feature ig)
Only problem it has is its a quality weapon, so there's no space for damaging spells, only buffs, but its a fair trade-off. Nagakiba & BHF switches here and I fully agree.
Feels like BHF is missing but this list makes sense otherwise
Seems pretty fair.
Personally, I'm coming back after 2 years without playing, I couldn't make a ranking, I haven't tested everything
Each one of these weapons can be good in the right hands and most dominate without much effort but anything with a projectile attack attached to it has weird tracking
Hyuga fist, inferno sword, hashirama swords, totsuka blade, then madara's fan for me
I think the bow might be the best at least. That inferno sword is very unfair too so I might even make that my top. People using heavenly hand power switch into the swords projectile are trash
It’s why I always made a rule that when I use the sword I go close range with it using light attacks. If I do use the projectile it’s once or twice and that’s it. No spamming. Had a couple of matches against higher level attacker players who showed me some respect for playing that way. Surprisingly good weapon when it comes to tracking for close range.
Hold on hold the phone. You constantly hold yourself back for other players? Like bro for something that you prolly grinded for crazy and got lucky enough too pull. Not everyone is going too show the same mercy and they don't have too. They the opposition.Bro go crazy go 8 gates on em.
My hyugas love that weapon been waiting for a hyuga based style since the game came out
My pussy Tbh
SS/super soaker
I started playing this game 3 weeks ago and even if I have DAN 8, I still don't know which weapons would be good for raids. I used only Kusarigama, Claws and Katana. I'm in love with Kusarigama, but this time I want something that helps me for low-mid range fights.
Whatever weapon you feel good with. But I'd say and other people say Katars and knuckles because the moveset is effective, good damage, quick and easy to get used to.
(We make a distinction between knuckles and Katars even though they have the same moveset, because Katars have slightly more range. Believe it or not that makes a real difference)
slightly less damage too!
True! In my opinion it gets balanced pretty alright.
Knuckles and katars are recommended u can also use claws
Personally I loved kusarigama too but now I switched to tonfas with frenzy and do like 350-500 without mythic enchants or charges
lol X's Masamune looked like a wall ornament with a hilt. Also I didn't like the mechanic of having low HP for it to do max damage.
Ultima Weapon in FFVII - just has an iconic look. Not overly flashy.
I thought it was really cool that the sword would change as Cloud's health dropped, becoming duller/more transparent.
I know this isnt final fantasy, but I really like the look of the Ultima Keyblade in KH1. I like the gold/sky blue Intertwining metals all over it
This is defintely counted! It's so satisfying to finally craft this after painstakingly gathering materials.
Lionheart rules them all for me
I want a thief blade/Swallow version of Lionheart gunblade tbh.
Mine too! Great choice.
Collecting the materials for it is super fun too!
Yup love that you have to earn it by using the games systems that you should be mastering.
Very clever actually
Nailbat
7-coil spring sword - one of the most underated weapons in the game. I havent played this game for a few months and this weekend I decided to give this weapon a chance.... and OMG it was extremly good. Laxasia, Manus, NP, everything on 2nd try and only bcs I did not remember their movesets. Laxasia never got such a beating from me, she was able to do 2-3 combos in each phase. Wasnt the game nerfed recently? When not, this weapon is doing a tremendous dps and its speed is perfectly balanced to allways fit in charged heavy or quick light attack. It also has one of the best runnnig heavy attacks in the game on par with Trident and Noblese Oblige.
Just for context I finished the game many times and with almost all boss weapons and I also have a max lvl char in NG+5, so I hope my opinion has some value.
One of my favorite things about this game is seeing all kinds of posts saying “X is the best weapon in the game” with a bunch of people supporting them in the comments. Pretty much every weapon feels good and works great in the right hands. Love this game.
Yes , u are right All weapons are well balanced and its just a matter of opinion. I made this post bcs nobody is talking about this weapon and its really great. Also many ppl are praising weapons without even trying othes. Thats why I wrote the context. I liked it more then everywhere praised Dragon glave for example.
I have a feeling that if this would be the sword from Laxasia instead of Uroboros eyes (same stats and moveset, Laxasia design), everyone would be praising it to heavens. I would bet my kidney on it 😉.
It’s an incredibly fun weapon! The charged heavy attack is fantastic, sprint jump attack is awesome, and really just the move set in general is good.
Fable arts rock. Really nothing bad to say about it!
Amazing weapon, not my style
This honestly may be one of my favorite aspects of souls games. You can have the most busted builds, but in the end, I’m always going to go back to what my style is, over numbers/efficiency.
Sure it took me longer to kill xyz but did you see that bad ass parry?
Yes, I don’t like the shield/poke and setting up poison with the arm is far less effective. But did you see that stun when the 3 explosions hit him?!
Ugh, this game finally scratched a souls itch like no other.
So far my number 1 souls like. Let’s see if Kazan can dethrone
I love that I can just make something that works for me, the games are strict but fair
This wepon have one of the most consistent parries
Thats indeed true, unfortunately it costs fable and Im pretty bad with timings, so I never use it :(.
I just finished my first run today. Played most of it with this bad girl at plus 5.
It does a lot of damage and it still is fast enough to take on aggressive bosses such as Laxasia and the Nameless Puppet.
You coat it with fire or anything else and you bam, you can take on anything. I love it.
What are a bunch of amazing weapons you can find throughout the game that are worth playing with? I cant decide what to use for my next run.
Estoc is Bestoc
You get the quick thrusts of a rapier (plus piercing damage, which is fantastic), you can attack from behind a shield, and you get the quick slashes for slashing damage when you need it. AND the double thrust! AND the reach is just under that of the short spear! AND you get the backstepping slash instead of a kick.
Seriously, try it. If you don't like it, that's cool, but it definitely gives one of the most unique weapon experiences in the game.
Estoc is really nice, damage is a bit low though I'm DS1. I remember in DS3 the Estoc was the best weapon in the game until From nerfed it lol
I've always been one who looks at damage as icing on the cake. As long as you are doing damage, I have a lot more interest in the moveset and other aspects of the weapon over the damage it does. Otherwise, you just look at the highest AR in the game and call it a day.
Try spear + shield.
I tried it on my last playthrough, and personally, I really enjoyed it.
No matter the intentions for my run, I always end up with a spear and shield. It just feels so good, and the attacking while blocking feature really helps a ton
It's fun seeing how other people enjoy things I loath, cause like, I cannot understand that, I hate the spears some reason.
I know weapons make or break the gameplay, but what I have always found success in making new runs fun and thematic is designing characters, and then letting them "find" weapons they'd enjoy, or was a part of their history.
You don't need to RP it that much, but consider what your hero would have seen in its past life, what weapons. They'd have enjoyed. What kind of warrior are they?
Then just play that "character" and use what you find. Basically everything single weapon in the game is viable. Pick something that's different and new to you and then make that work, regardless of ease.
I've found tons of play styles that in super enjoy that I would never have given the time of day had I not decided to just go for it and make it work.
Are the daggers viable in remastered? I might do an assassin build
Currently using the balder side sword myself. I just got to anor londo and am not sure what I’m doing with my stats yet.
Swag sword*
Velka's rapier as a sidearm in a INT build is criminally underrated.
Doesn't it scale with FTH as an occult weapon?
