Understanding Boss Mechanics
In "Hades 2," each boss serves as a test of different skills, requiring players to adapt their strategies accordingly. For instance, the first area boss (A1) tests your dodging and timing abilities, while the second boss (A2) evaluates your build's effectiveness [1]. The third boss combines both skill sets, challenging players with swarms and requiring endurance
[1:4]. Understanding these mechanics can help you tailor your character's progression and build strategy.
Resource Management and Upgrades
Efficient resource management is crucial in "Hades 2." Players are advised to focus on gathering materials during specific runs to unlock game-changing incantations and upgrades [1:1]. Swapping tools can increase the odds of finding specific resources
[1:6], although this mechanic may have changed in recent updates
[1:8]. Additionally, leveling up your Arcana and granting nectar to characters can provide significant advantages
[1:1].
Manipulating RNG and Boon Selection
The randomness of boon selection can be influenced by understanding the game's mechanics. While there are no "core" gods, having multiple gods in your pool makes it equally likely for any of them to offer boons [2:4]. Utilizing keepsakes strategically can help ensure that certain gods appear when needed
[2:2]. However, it's important to note that some players have experienced seemingly one-sided RNG, where certain gods appear more frequently than others
[2:6].
Character and Story Progression
Interacting with key characters and completing specific tasks can unlock new story elements and character progressions. For example, talking to Prometheus can trigger important dialogues and unlock powerful incantations [3:1]. Characters like Dora (potentially Pandora) play significant roles in the overarching narrative, influencing the protagonist's development and the game's ending
[3:4]
[3:10].
Unlocking In-Game Features
Certain in-game features, such as the boon list, require unlocking through specific conditions. Players need to collect keepsakes from at least four gods and encounter Hecate under particular circumstances [4:3]. While some players find the timing of these unlocks too late in the game
[4:8], they add to the progressive nature of the gameplay experience
[4:12].
By focusing on these areas, players can effectively navigate the challenges of "Hades 2," optimizing their character progression and enhancing their overall gameplay experience.
So I started the game last night and it felt dragging as how roguelikes are, but I enjoy the grind. The staff is sooo beginner friendly spam special if you find it hard.
Not sure if we can spoil area bosses so I'd go with A1, 2 & 3. A1 is a skill test, dodging and waiting for the timing A2 is a build test, checking if the boons you have work well and can cause enough damage A3 haven't beaten him yet, but I think it's a mix of both as swarms will appear and they are a pain /moment of rest.
Still so much to do resources to farm builds to discover.
If you have any tips/nocturnal arms that is fun to use-boons that it works well with. Let me know.
May moonlight guide us all!!
Welcome to the geeking out!
Take your time and explore different options, different paths. Unlocking certain dialogue triggers and story progression requires certain things to happen. Even just reaching the boss of a Region will trigger things. Talk to everyone you can who has a ! above their head. Skip nothing.
Make use of the Forget-Me-Not once you have it; it will make your life so much easier finding resources.
Change up your farming focus every now and again. I don't mean some mechanical focus (you used to be able to prioritize tools, but that just changed), I mean opting whether you want to go hard on a bunch of Psyche to level your Grasp, or Ash to unlock Arcana or other things, and so on. Gives a refreshing change of pace as you work to unlock things.
Get Nectar when you can. Every character that you can give Nectar to, give exactly 1 and no more until you've given just about every character 1 Nectar. This goes for Boon-giver gods especially. You may have figured this out already, but it's how you get Keepsakes, and you want to get them ASAP so you have them for runs.
Enjoy the story and dialogue. The gameplay is very fun, but half the draw of the Hades series is the story. If you played Hades 1, you'll know what I mean.
Lastly, take the time to learn enemy attack patterns and how to not take damage. It's a rougelite, damage has a habit of sticking. You don't have a timer.
Death to Chronos!
Welcome! As a lover of this particular brand of progressive challenge, story, and fantastical build-craft, I personally couldn't be happier with hades 2.
It's been a while, but before I unlocked weapon aspects i found focusing on gods with chunky damage like Hephaestus and Zeus along with a freeze from demeter to be the most fun.
So, Boss1 shows you, that you take a huge amount of damage from all attacks, which means dodging and keeping distance is a valid and good strategy. Later on some skills let you regenerate health, but thats rare.
Boss 2 throws different dangers together, one on their own is very predictable, but 2 or even 3 is much to calculate with.
Boss 3 is a check if you are skilled enough to endurance a very long fight, as you have to run around a lot with distance weapons (meele is another thing), then it is dancing before and behind him (much easiert than with all overworld bosses, but also doable there)
Or if you do unholy amounts of damage, just throw all attacks out at once.
Sad thing with all bosses except Underworld 2 is, you cannot stack Burn on them, as they have either several phases or just have ways to loose/heal the burn.
Nothing stopping you from building up a shitload of Scorch, it's just those downsides that make you need to evaluate its capacity. It still acts as 1/2 of Origination if anything, and you avoid the issues a bit more with the Hestia boon that accelerates the tickrate. Or you could almost entirely sidestep the problem with Freezer Burn if you get that duo 😂
Didn't it used to be able to stack burn, well burn used to do all damage if it hit the threshold for a different phase
Be sure to check the cauldron and swap tools every now and again. Every now and again it's good to do a run with the sole focus of gathering materials as some incantations are game changing.
When you're able to get companions Frinos can block the first bosses morph attack.
Also make sure you're giving 1 nectar to all characters you can. Not sure if you're new to hades in general but in the first game I didn't do this until beating REDACTED a few times thinking nectar was needed for something else.
Edit almost forgot you can level your Arcana and grasp. Early builds of Hades 2 it was hard to tell where to go to do so and IK many people didn't know how to do so for a week or so
You don't swap tools anymore
Swapping tools gives higher odds of the respective resource showing up if I'm not mistaken. So if you need seeds do a run with the shovel, minerals the pickaxe, psyche the tablet, and bones the fish.
More like Greek out
Hey all, u/ChrisBot8 here, back again to do a little deep dive on a topic I've seen going around that I think I can shine some light on. As always with these I will likely forget something, not know something, or flat-out say the wrong thing on some of these, if that happens please let me know in the comment and I'll update the post! Today I want to talk about the different ways you can make certain things more likely in Hades 2 (many of these will apply to Hades 1 too, but I am more knowledgeable on and have researched Hades 2, so that's where the focus will be). These won't make your expected outcomes happen all the time, but they will be tools you can use to make your runs more consistent. I'll divide this post into three main sections (Boons, Doors, and NPC Encounters), so if you are interested in one portion you can feel free to skip to that part. Let's get started.
In this section, I'm going to go over how choosing boons and gods will affect your ability to get other boons. Some of this might be fairly common knowledge, and some of it might be higher-level play. I'll try to order these in a least to most complex manner.
Core Boons
Hades and Hades 2 weigh giving you "core" boons above non-core boons. So if you are trying to get a specific boon that is not a "core" boon (say you want Duo or Legendary requirements, or just good secondaries like Trusty Shield) you will want to fill your core boon "slots". These slots are displayed on the left side of the screen and represent an Attack, Special, Cast, Dash, and Gain from any god (in Hades 1 Gain is replaced with Call).
Boon Requirements
Some boons require another boon to be offered. For instance, there are many boons that revolve around Wounds or Scorch (I think the two curses that have the most of these) that cannot be offered unless you have a boon that inflicts that curse. So like above, if you are searching for a specific boon, then you want to keep your eye on what boons are unlocked by others, specifically if they unlock multiple boons like boons that inflict the above curses.
The God Pool
I was unsure whether to put this one in doors or boons, but I decided to put it here as it will help you acquire a boon that you are looking for. If you don't know what the god pool is, it is the Olympian gods that you have a boon from. The game wants you to have a four god pool. It will weigh offering you boons from new gods before offering you boons from gods you already have while you do not have a full god pool. So if you are looking for a specific boon from a god that you already have and you don't have four gods it is actually optimal to take a fourth god over other rewards so that the game will offer you the god you are looking for more often.
This section will go over rerolling doors and when it is smart to do so.
Major and Minor Rewards
In Hades and Hades 2 all the room rewards are divided into two categories: Minor and Major. The Minor rewards are ones that give meta progression to the players (Ash, Bones, and Nectar in Hades 2). The Major rewards are the ones that give real value to the run (before the incantations to give the minor rewards value as well). As far as rerolls go, Minor rewards cannot be rerolled into a Major reward and vice versa.
Mini Boss Doors
Mini Boss Doors can only offer non-Hemes boons. This means if you reroll them you are going to get another Olympian, and it is likely to be one already in your god pool if it wasn't before.
Ephrya
Ephyra rewards are limited to Boons, Hammers, Selene, Double Max Health Upgrades, and Double Max Magick Upgrades. These doors are great for rerolling because of two things 1) they are limited to a smaller pool than normal Major Rewards doors are 2) a bunch of the things the doors could be are on the other doors of Ephyra. Basically, the game doesn't like offering the same thing on two different doors, so if you take all the boons of one god in the Ephyra room, but leave all the other gods and rewards, you are much likelier to roll into that god because there are a bunch of blockers for what that door could be rolled to.
This section will go over requirements to get NPC encounters, sometimes called "skip rooms". I would consider this the highest level of RNG manipulation in Hades, and only really useful if you are speed running or playing on very high fear. That said, in either of those cases I would consider this knowledge a prerequisite for doing well.
Artemis, Aracne Eggs, Nemisis, and Athena
I grouped all of these NPCs together because they all have the same requirements for showing up except on different biomes. All of them require the chamber count to be four or greater in the current biome, and the room reward to be "non-menu". Non-menu means the reward from the room cannot bring up a menu to choose its options (examples of menu rewards are Poms, Boons, Hammers, and Selene). The main difference between these NPCs is where they can show up. Artemis can show up in Erebus, Oceanus, and Ephyra. Aracne Eggs can show up in Erebus and Oceanus. Nemisis can show up in Erebus, Oceanus, and the Fields (where her chamber count is set to 1 because of how the fields work). Athena can only (naturally) show up in Olympus.
How Doors Work in Olympus
Doors in Olympus have an "indoor" and an "outdoor" designation, and some rooms and NPC encounters can only be accessed through one or the other. For instance, the mid-shop will only ever be offered on an outdoor door. You can tell if a door is indoor or outdoor based on if it launches you up in the air (outdoor) or if it is a normal door (indoor). I put this here because it's very important for the next section.
Icarus, Haracles, and the Olympus Foutain Chamber
Icarus and Haracles both have standard rules for their encounters like above, but since they also appear in Olympus and have rules around that I wanted to group them together. Icarus can show up in the Ryft and his rules for showing up there are a chamber count of three or greater in the biome and a non-menu room. Heracles can show up in Ephyra and his conditions for doing so seem to be that the room reward is not Selene (that's it).
In Olympus, their conditions change quite a bit. First, Sticky Ic can now only show up after four or later chambers, and Heracles can only show up after five or later chambers. Second, they have indoor and outdoor requirements. Icarus can only show up on outdoor rooms (to drop his bombs), and Heracles and Fountain Chambers can only happen in indoor rooms. So if you are looking for a skip room chamber five or later and haven't encountered Heracles you are slightly more likely to do so by taking indoor chambers.
---
Anyway, that's all I have off the top of my head, but as always I almost certainly forgot something or got something wrong. Please let me know if I did! Also let me know if there's another topic you think would be useful. Looking at the code is pretty fun for me, and I'd like to research things that are useful for the community.
Do you or anyone here know what designates which are the 4 core olympians?
I think, if I lets say pick up 4 olympians in Ephyra, they will be my core 4 and any that comes later is not part of the core 4 and thus is rare later, correct?
If I only pick 3 different olympians in Ephyra, and then via Keepsake a 4th on the boats, and then get a 5th on a door, the Keepsake one is the 4th core and not the door one afterwards, right?
Is there a way to get 5 core olympians?
If I add a 5th olympian with a keepsake, can that become part of the core olympians, or will it be rare after getting the first boon? Or does it get rare after switching keepsakes?
What about Hermes Dropshipping, lets say I get it at a Charon shop where my 4th olympian is for sale and Hermes is so nice to drop me an olympian i also not yet have. Would whichever I take first, the dropshipped or bought one my 4th core olympian, or can I get 5 core olympians that way?
Does it matter which boon I pick? Like the core ones on the left, I initially thought they are designating the core olympians and thus can be 5. Thats incorrect then?
Yeah there’s no such thing as “core” gods. Every god in your god pool is equally likely. So if you have 5 or 6 gods then they are all just as likely to show you a boon in the future. Which I guess that’s either good or bad news. It’s good news cause you can’t “lock a god out” that’s in your pool, but bad news because you can’t make sure to focus on one god.
Thank you.
This tells me that some of my runs had very onesided rng then. Had like 6 different gods in my pool then, and in olympus and the one above I kept seeing Ares over and over again, with like Hestia, who I've added as a 5th one on the boats by using a Keepsake, never showed up afterwards ever again.
I think you got the nemesis one slightly wrong....she can appear in oceanas too. Regarding ephyra, 2 things are still there....for a speed runner this may matter ....every room in ephyra has different combat durations, some have small and some long.... can't really describe it in words but if you have visited every possible rooms you would get an idea. Secondly the mini rooms ...when you enter a room you can know which mini room will open after the end of encounter by seeing if a wooden cross( ❌) is nailed infront of that door or not. Even though your guide is correct, but I think the subject of your post might be misleading. See what you told is a very good guide about the various things and mechanics of the game but it does not state how to manipulate rng for some things to work out in the favourable run/build.
O you are right about Nem, and yeah I know about the map of Ephyra (which I’ll add to this comment at the end) and the X doors. I wanted to keep this to things that are not guaranteed, but ways to make them more likely if that makes sense (cause if I didn’t it would be forever long (though it already is)).
There are a few higher level things I left off cause I don’t fully understand them yet at a high level and was hoping someone else would come along and explain them (specifically the “reward bag” that is the reason the Rift barely offers boons).
You’re right that Manipulating RNG is probably not a good title for this. I waffled back and forth with what to call this (maybe how to make decisions would have been better?). Unfortunately you can’t edit titles of Reddit, so maybe I reupload it when another patch comes out with updated information and a different name. I’ll take suggestions on that.
Ephyra map for those curious:
Edit: updated Nem! Thanks for pointing that out!
Icarus can show up in Olympus?? I’m 300+ nights in and have only ever seen him in the rift.
Still reading, already thanking you for another of your guides, love your stuff man, thanks (:
Hey I love doing them for the community! If you have any suggestions for the next one let me know!
Hey man! Just played a run where my first chamber in Oceanus was Aracne and the second was Charon. Never happened before (and even so I couldn't do a PR in the run 😔), does this go against this room count of 4 or more?
I just played several runs in a row so I can be confused, but I think it was actually: Chaos in the pre first room, then Arachne, then Charon.
Just thought you would like to know.
P.s: regarding another guide I personally would enjoy to either know more about Zeus's boons / What are some overall good arcanas for Speedrun or a deeper exploration of arcanas without necessarily focusing on Speedruning / and last but not least, the general data on the weapons (DMG per hit, attack speed, general dps, etc)
Not sure if any of these interest you, I'm just thinking out loud here hahahaha
Thanks again(:
Do we know the exact weight given to core boons in each game? Anecdotally (500ish hours in Hades 1, 350ish hours in Hades 2), it seems that Hades 2 doesn’t favor core boons as heavily. This of course could just be my experience and bear no statistical relevance, but I would really be interested to see if there’s a difference since it sure feels like there is.
Have I not Beaton typhon enough
I think it’s Prometheus that you need to talk to
I also don't have the typhoon incantation yet either
Maybe. What I think is that Dora's (and we all know it's Pandora) backstory will be the wake-up call for Mel that Olympus isn't all good and nice, quite the opposite in many instances(and we see she finally starts to question it), a key to her inevitable character development. It's a very important part of the story.
So yeah, she is really important, but by how much, I don't know.
It’s funny cause for every problem Melinoe found while talking to npcs she came up with an incantation to solve it 😂, from some shit like creating shovels and fishing rods to god slaying incantations like Dissolution of Time and Disintergration of Montrosity 😂. She’s not just the most busted god she’s also the best witch ever 😂
Exactly, she is extremely talented, even Hermes said that when he used to visit, Mel would always be at the Cauldron trying new stuff.
"Hec always said you're quick to learn, you know? And sure enough, whenever I'd drop in, you'd be over a cauldron, working some new spell. Well, this is it! Your time to work some magick for our sake!"
Hecate tells her she needs to slow down.
"With all your incanting as of late, I must needs caution you to not overextend. I know you want for every chant and glamour on the tip of your tongue, but they require space, and time."
A resounding yes! Unless Entropy is an ingredient for any incantation slated for 1.0, she should have a very important role in how the story wraps up
No, as you can see entropy is still nowhere to be found in the game
Nah, this incantation first revealed itself in the Olympus update last year
I forget, have they already confirmed that she isn't PAN-dora? Cause that would honestly make a lot of sense but I feel like someone in game said "nuh-unh" already
Idk how are they gonna deny Dora being Pandora though, and they are definitely doing their best at hinting her to be Pandora, Pandora isn’t some minor character in mythology that you can just brush aside like Medusa or something, she has a bunch of interactions with Prometheus that confirms her identity eventhough it’s actually through Melinoe.
I got this incantation a few days ago, you just need to have some conversations with >! Prometheus !<. No clue on what exactly triggers it I but took me 60 hrs of playtime to get there
I'm 55 hours into Hades II, and ive done maybe 2/3 of my runs on the surface, and I have not encountered Dionysus. I imagine that I'm just extremely unlucky, I must've run into Circle 10 times, but it means I haven't been able to get his keepsake, and therefore haven't been able to unlock the incantation that lets you use the in game boon list. I've vanquished Typhon with every weapon, fully leveled more than half the keepsakes, and yet I can't access an extremely helpful in-game feature for creating a strong build, despite being far past the point where that information would be overwhelming to me. Now I'm in a super frustrating spot where I kind of want to do more underworld runs, but I'm heavily disincentivized from doing so because grinding surface runs is required to unlock this key feature. I am just venting, and I understand my experience is not typical, but it just feels really discouraging and like an extremely unnecessary situation to be stuck in 50+ hours into a game.
It should also highlight which boons you already have on that run.
It does? You can toggle something and it shows you which of the gods boons you have on the right.
In the "booklet" when you select "more info" on that god,
or in your "list of boons" screen when you press the left button on the d-pad?
... for the latter, I wish we could get a filter that tells you "these are Olympian boons", these are from Hera, these are Hammer ones, these are Selene boosts, etc.
also agree. shouldn't even be an unlock. or like gated by Hecate if you don't want to intimidate newbies with too much information at once.
The incantation should require you have at least 4 Gods' Keepsakes and encounter Hecate either holding a Keepsake or with a Duo Boon
Hecate then hands you the incantation, which requires 1 Cinder and 1 of every material from Erebus except fish (1 Moly, 1 Silver, 1 Nightshade and 1 Cinder)
Eh, I actually think it’s fine as an unlock. You don’t need it to win a run or anything. It’s a good bit of progression in a game that thrives on progressive unlocks for game features.
sure. we can go back and forth the best moment to unlock it, but it comes way to late. My early experience of the game had me learning the boons alt-tabbing to cancer cover wiki. By the time I got it I basically didnt need it any more. for me its impact was “really? well that would have been nice”
Yeah dionysus shouldn't be necessary for it. I just slayed last boss lots of times and dionysus still waits for something i guess he just refuses to appear. I am tired of looking duo boons from fandom.
Agreed. Also, checking on your boons while in game should not spend your timer.
It should also pause the game.
You can only safely quit after moving into the next encounter. Put the game on hold for a bit, come back later, and you have to fight before you can reacquaint yourself with what you had on that run thus far :\
Definitely need to rework the vows of time in that case it's pretty generous as is
I feel you haha. I've probably unlocked it around 70 hours into the game.
I'm currently sitting at about 130 runs.
I have the United Orpheus and eurydice. I have freed sissipus. Defeated Charon twice. Had 10k kills and talked to Ares. Defeated extreme measures theseus and talked to Poseidon.
I need help on the following.
1 All three datable characters are unlocked. Got the cutscene where mag is in my room twice but since then she's missing should I continue on till she reappears or is there something I'm supposed to do.
2 Forged bonds with Zeus, Athena, Ares, Dionysus. Rest of the Olympians are currently locked how do I unlock them I don't get the option to give ambrosia.
3 How to re unite Achilles and Patrocolous their hearts are currently locked and I get single line dialogues from both of them since past 10 runs maybe.
4 Similar problem with nyx and chaos their hearts are locked and I don't get any dialogues from them. Just finished the storyline where nyx fires dusa and rehires her back 5 runs ago.
5 Hades bedroom has this ghost that lets you upgrade something what is it's significance ? I kind of don't remember the dialogue but I upgraded it twice already.
6 I'm missing spread fire for adamant rail, rush kick for twin fists, dashing wallop and ferocious guard for the shield. I can't find these options in the deadalus hammer how do I find them ?
My problem is that from the past 5-6 runs I don't get any dialogues from any of the characters ?
The bedroom ghost upgrades your rank if im not wrong. >!You can get up to the highest one which matches Hades i think? I believe there is a dialogue or so to uncover then if im not wrong.!<
For achilles and patroclus i think you talk to hades at some point and >!then get a contract or so to release achilles..!<
Dont remember the rest, its been a while, honestly the wiki should have all the answers or if you just google some keywords + "reddit" im sure someone on some sub somewhere will have answered it! Good luck!
(Sorry for the marking, just want to be sure im not spoiling the game for anyone😅)
Yeah the reason I'm not just googling it cause of the stupid spoilers and so far I didn't feel the need the use of a wiki.
Yes your markings are greatly appreciated.
For the hammers, check the wiki. Certain hammer upgrades are incompatible with certain weapon aspects. It's possible you're always running e.g. Lucifer on the rail, and then can't get spread fire or something.
The wiki is a good source for all th se questions honestly but I'm sure there is nuance that someone here can help you (and me) with.
Yeah usually wikis have spoilers and generally Hades is a great game where you don't need the use of a wiki. But yeah I'll try different aspects then.
I know that the Achilles patroclus story unlocks by wearing Achilles keepsake when you visit patroclus
Ohhhh that's prolly what I'm missing thank you.
These two links should help you with 1-4.
Guide on Unlocking Hearts(Completing Favors)
Hades 1.0: Endgame FAQ/Guide(Spoilers inside)
All it is, is an end game meta currency resource dump.
At Max Rank(Unseen One) you get special dialogue with Hades about reaching the same rank as him.
Like you can’t get the Flurry Jab hammer on Hades spear because it disables spin attacks which is Hades spear gimmick.
To the author of this guide, I appreciate your effort a lot.
The game released some new characters. I don't know if you still stick around. Please update your guide when you have a chance, it will help out other newbies.
Many thanks!

thank you sir
FYI that is pinned to the top of the sub already
I just downloaded this for Switch about a half hour ago and did one run before dying (said I got to chamber 7) does this guide still apply now that it's out of early access because I have very little idea what items are or what different icons on doors mean.
Yes. I only made it a few days ago, I doubt much has changed since last early access build!
Great work! Any chance we can get a super in depth guide? Its difficult to find little known information about the game.
Ha, thanks! But I have to confess I'm a long way from an expert at this point in time! I'm yet to clear Elysium! /blush
But, if I get to a point where I feel I know enough to do such a guide, I'll do it!
There are so many nuances with each weapon aspect and boon combination it'd be tough to make an in-depth guide, but if you do please hit me up. I have some Hades videos on my YouTube channel, and it'd be fun to do a collaboration.
It may not even be a good idea for an in depth guide yet.
Big things could change upon release. It happens all the time during major early access transitions
1.0 is finally out and I have finally found you (subscribed!) and this wonderful subreddit but as I was watching your videos, I'm curious to know if the guides you made dated months back are still relevant in 1.0 or did Supergiant gave it a major overhaul in terms of the mechanics in game?
p.s. I do appreciate how much you try to avoid mentioning details that would spoil the experience for first timers!
I've only made one Hades video, dude! It was made about a week before launch.
I mixed you up with other Hades content creators out there my sincere apologies! Typical screening through guides in a haste to learn noteworthy mechanics. My apologies once again!
Good stuff! I agree beginners will benefit from this. You may want to repost when 1.0 is actually released.
Thanks! It was hard to find the line of telling people too much / too little, it I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
I bloody love this game and want to do my bit to make sure others do too!
I agree, you should repost when 1.0 hits. New players coming in from 1.0 aren't here yet to see this lol
I loved the Lernie fight, especially on desperate measures. I do not at all love the Prometheus fight
ngl I like Prometheus because he's difficult, it was bitch learning his moves and dying in the process, but once I figured him out I started having a lot of fun with it
or maybe I'm just masochistic, who knows
I've only beat Typhon twice and I still lose to Eris sometimes, but I LOVE Prometheus -- he's a good character and his fight is so fun!
He's the reason I bounced off of the game. I got so mad I couldnt beat him with 400 hp and full DD. I just dont feel like I can play this game (the surface levels at least) in the way I want to play.
Once you understand the logic behind how he works, you don't need more than 100hp and no DD. In fact take strength so you get more damage and can possibly skip the adds phase.
Prometheus fight sucks. It feels too long, his moves are annoying. Not fun fight
Genuinely my favourite boss in this game, on top of being voiced by Ben Starr, it's too good.
Fun fact: Ben Starr also plays the live action Jimbo in the Balatro trailer and BAFTA acceptance speech :D
absolutely the fuck not.
The only time I enjoyed the prom fight is when I managed to dodge his attacks while mining some adamant and picking a flower during the same fight.
Still lost that one but I knew that was gonna happen so I had to pick the resources.
Suffer as I did!
prometheus is such a cool character but i need him to have 50% less hands. asterius and theseus never caused me this much trouble lol
Just started playing Hades so can you experts give me any tips?
Give a gift to Athena and equip it to get her boons more often. Deflecting will allow you to get steadily used to the controls while not taking damage. Her dash in particular is broken for first time players
Focus on Keys and Nectar early on.
Best source of Darkness is Treasure Troves (unlocked via the Contractor) and beating bosses youve already beaten, not Room rewards.
Best source of Gems is Treasure Troves.
Also dont be afraid to buy Darkness and Gems from Charon/Wells early on.
Buy the Fated List of Minor Prophecies from the Contractor ASAP.
Give Nectar to Cerberus and Skelly first, as their Keepsakes are really good early on when you don't have a lot of Mirror stuff powered up yet.
Experiment with different builds on different weapons to figure out what works, a big part of this games "skill" is figuring out how to out builds together and what powers work best with what weapons.
Play and have fun! Focus on the ressouces needed to get permanent upgrades while getting to grips with the game and go for full clears at about 15-20 runs
This gives you a bunch of tips and game knowledge!
Thanks dude, really great video!
Gather keys and purple stones in the beginning. It’s useful to unlock more and increase the skills in the mirror in your room. Then also gather the orange filters that can be used for gifts to the gods. Give one to each god and get their keystone which allow you to have some additional skills and also to define your built based on boons. Each god keystone makes sure you will get that’s gods boons next level. These two are the most useful I think. I. The beginning you have to farm the above to make the game easier later on. No reason to try to reach the end at the beginning the game is built in a way to make you stronger the more you play.
Thanks that really helps
No victory or first achievement posts or screenshots.
Of course it feels great when finally defeating [REDACTED], beating xx heat, unlocking something or earning an achievement. But consider if even 0.1% of users of this sub posted these experiences it would be a flood of low value content. These are not "obligatory" posts.
You can share that sort of content on the official Supergiant Games Discord server in the #hades-victory-boasting and #hades2-victory-boasting channels.
Done achievements wise but you are barely scratching the surface in terms of content
No way that's barely scratching the surface. As someone who played for 200 hours, I'd say most dialogue ended at around 100 which this person isn't that far from. I guess there's a chance they haven't tried most builds and high heat, but we can't know that.
I've done up to 32 heat to unlock the third Skelly Statue. Definitely not a game im done playing, just thrilled to have finally gotten all of the Achievements!
Hades 1 was fantastic and jumping to hades 2 was a bit strange because u are used to the first games visuals and combat but its a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend hades 2! Ive done only 7 runs so far but dont want to rush it because its early access still and im waiting for the offical release.
Definitely a wise choice. As much as i loved the dozens of hours I've already put into Hades II, I also kind of regret it a little bit because I've locked myself out of the full experience, in a sense.
The underworld is basically missing a few cutscenes as far as i can tell, but these are the most important part. Imagine beating the final boss in game 1 for the first time and NOT seeing the incredibly beautiful and emotional cinematic that follows.
