Eligibility for Free Disney+ Subscription
Verizon offers a free Disney+ subscription for 12 months, but it is primarily available to new FiOS customers and those with unlimited data plans [1:1]
[1:4]. If you are on an unlimited plan, you can initiate the activation through Verizon's website under the add-on and apps option in your plan settings
[1:9].
Activation Process
To activate Disney+ through Verizon, you need to follow the link provided by Verizon after activating the offer [2:1]. This process may involve signing up for Disney+ via Verizon's platform rather than directly through Disney+. For detailed steps, Verizon's support page provides a guide on how to activate the bundle
[2:2].
Common Issues and Solutions
Some users have experienced issues when trying to activate additional services like Hulu and ESPN+ as part of the Disney+ bundle. A workaround involves using a web browser to sign into Disney+ and activating Hulu and ESPN+ from there [3:1]. If you previously had Hulu with the same email used for Disney+, you might need to log into that account and link it
[3:2].
Service Requirements
You do not necessarily need Verizon's phone service to watch Disney+ on your TV. The Disney Bundle can be accessed with any internet connection, regardless of your ISP or phone provider [5:1]
[5:3]. If you pay for Disney+ independently, there are no restrictions based on your service provider
[5:4].
Additional Tips
If you encounter errors during activation, ensure that ad blockers are disabled and try clearing cookies and cache [4:4]
[4:6]. Using an incognito window may also help bypass any lingering issues related to cookies or pop-ups
[4:4].
Awesome, thanks for this! I just signed up with a 7 day free trial through Apple. But I’ll be cancelling that and signing up through Verizon.
Verizon cable or Verizon phone services?
Unlimited phone services, not sure if cable would qualify?
I think you have to have unlimited data or FIOS right?
Correct , it's not for just standard plans
Only for NEW FiOS customers.
Really? Do you initiate through Verizon website?
Yes and yes! I just finished setting it up! It’s under the add-on and apps option under Plans.
Awesome - thanks for the hot tip!
FYI You need to be on an unlimited plan.
Oh sorry! I didn’t realize it was only for unlimited plans. Hopefully someone here can still take advantage!
It says “your Disney+ account has been activated” but when I go to it it prompts me to pay $13. Idk what I’m doing wrong?
You need to follow the link from Verizon and sign up after you activate it.
As the title says, I added the Disney+ bundle from the My Verizon app. No issues. Go into Disney+ and try to activate Hulu? Page not found. No matter which way I try to do it, page not found. Can't activate from My Verizon directly or Hulu.
For me, since I previously had Hulu with that same email I used for Disney+ via Verizon, I had to login to that account and link it
Use your web browser and sign into Disney+, there should be an “activate Hulu and espn+” in there under account i believe. Only way i found it was when i did it on the actual web browser and not the Disney+ app
100% Correct. Thanks.
This instruction is nowhere in the Verizon documents, by the way.
Appreciate it.
I literally work there and was never told how to do that. I figured it out myself 🤣
Haven’t been able to get this done for 6 months I deadass gave up :/
For the past week, I've tried to unsuccessfully activate Disney+ via Spectrum. Whenever I click the activation link, I get an error page stating "Service Unavailable. We're sorry, something didn't work quite right. Please sign back in to try again."
This happens repeatedly, regardless of device, browser, app, and logging in and out does nothing.
FWIW I've been using the following steps within my account: Manage Internet/WiFi > TV/Streaming > Disney+ Basic > Error
Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a known outage? Any workarounds?
clear cooker and cache. make sure wllow pop-ups is on
I tried to no avail. I have no issues accessing ViX, Paramount, and Max, but the Disney+ landing page refuses to show up.
OP should make sure ad blockers are off too.
I signed up fine last month with no issues, FWIW. I signed up for ESPN+ two days ago with no issues as well. Maybe OP should try an incognito window in case there's a stray cookie he didn't get when clearing.
You mentioned pop-ups. OP should also check in the web address field to be sure it isn't trying to open one.
I should also note that I'm being ping ponged between the two companies. Spectrum states that the issue originates from Disney, and vice versa.
Had the same issue months ago when I tried to activate mine, and I'm an employee. I finally did a conference call with both companies. Low and behold, the issue was on our end. But it was the Disney rep that was able to get it to work finally. The biggest kick in the nuts was that I'm not able to upgrade beyond the basic Disney+ with commercials...
I've now done two conference calls with both companies, without any resolution. Any idea what finally worked?
i heard that i needed to have both verizon’s tv and phone service to watch it on my tv (i already have the tv service), but idk if it’s true or not
Maybe it depends on your subscription.. I register directly with D+ and use it on rokus, android phones and xbox
No, not maybe. It's an absolute 100% no.
No you dont need anything or this sort. It'll work on any phone and TV with any internet connection
No. Definitely not.
I believe you need something with Verizon (not exactly sure what since I don’t use Verizon) to get The Disney Bundle for a year for free. But if you pay for it yourself, there’s no rule about what your ISP or phone provider is in order to watch; you can watch it with any.
I don't see to get a clear answer from Verizon not Disney. I am extremely confused at this point.
I have the free Disney+ promo from FIOS. I want to add ESPN+ bundle to the plan but when I talk to FIOS they said I need to talk to Disney+. When I talk to Disney+ they say my plan is managed by Verizon and need to talk to them. One of the Verizon people wanted me to sign up for a new FIOS plan to add TV services, this is how lost I am at this point.
Anyone have any advice or tips for getting this completed properly?
Are you also a Wireless customer? Do you have the old “Disney Bundle” or the Disney+ add-on for the new plans?
No FIOS - I had it for a couple years just Disney+.
When I go to Verizon to change, I have no options. When I attempt to login with my user it does not work for ESPN+
I’m on the wireless side, but when I run into this issue I usually call Disney with customer and they’re good about making sure everything looks right on their end. Just yesterday the Disney rep had a customer unenroll and enroll again and got it working. I’d asking the fios rep to call with you on the line and cut out you having to call back and forth.
Go to to the Disney plus website on the desktop. Click on your account. There should be an “Activate” section that shows for Hulu and ESPN plus
I already have it activated for Disney+. I only get an option to change, but it wants to charge me the full price now.
You should be able to login into espn with your Disney login
I have the Verizon wireless Disney promo and that’s how it works for me. Fios might be different
This did not work, I think this is only for wireless customers.
Sorry. I thought it might. Hence why I edited my post
You would have to do it through MyVerizon. The Fios promo includes Disney+ only, not the bundle.
I have tried with them, not sure what I am saying wrong to their support team.
Support can't do it. You have to do it through MyVerizon online.
About a day ago, I activated a line on the Total 5G+ Unlimited plan.
I got a text to activate Disney+; however, the link leads to a subscription status page that states "We haven't found any subscriptions associated with your account. If you purchased any value-added products, please check back later by logging into your account and going to the My Extras page from the Dashboard. If the problem persists, please call us at 1-866-663-3633."
Under the "Manage my extras" tab, it states "There are no VAS subscriptions under your account."
How should I go about activating the free Disney+ subscription?
Hi. We would like to help you with this issue that you are having with your Disney+ subscription. Please check your inbox. -Pamela
Thank you!!
All you have to do is log in to your Verizon Wireless account (either through the My Verizon app or VZW.com), click on your account information, and go to the add-ons section (where you can add additional services like Apple Music, ring-back tones, etc). The offer is in that section.
Now I’m getting hit with “contact customer service” I expected a snag but this is crazy.
I think neither Verizon nor Disney fully anticipated the overwhelming response to this offer/service.
My wife and I got the three year plan via D23 but also have Verizon unlimited. Worried about getting billed after year one even though we've paid disney directly for 3 years.
I did the same. I actually work for Verizon. What I did was set a calendar reminder for 1 year from now to remind me to cancel the subscription through Verizon.
Does your Disney+ app show the end date of your subscription as 3 years or 4 years from now?
So if i don't cancel I'll wind up paying twice? (year 2 = paying both disney and version for the same thing?)
After you enroll, it links you to disney+ app or website, at which i was asked to login or create an account. It keeps prompting me to subscribe with only a 7 day trial. Anyone got any ideas?
Same here and states woll start billing nov 20 2019
Same here. Tech Support has been less than helpful, I was on hold for over an hour and no one answered.
Good luck getting it, though. Once you sign up, you have to go to D+ and link accounts, but it isn't loading right now due to technical issues.
It says my Verizon promotion is active but it still shows I will be charged by Disney+ in 4 days. Do I cancel it?
Hi yall! I know we get free Disney+ as cast but how do I activate it? And is it the bundle w/ Hulu as well or just Disney+? Ty!
There is a link in cast life with instructions on setting up your free services
What’s it called? I looked for it already and couldn’t find it
If you put complimentary streaming in the search bar on cast life or my Disney today it will get you there
Go to D Tools HR and search streaming
Just wanted to put this out there, as I just spent 20 minutes sorting this out. If you, like me, made a Disney+ account before Verizon sent you the free year details, not to worry. Following Verizon's links will eventually automatically redeem a code on your account if you're logged into the app at the time.
It also takes about 15 minutes for the change to appear in billing. It may look like you follow a bunch of links that led nowhere, but I assure you, everything's fine.
Thanks for this. It still shows that my card will be charged after applying the Verizon promotion? Will this go away ?
After about 15 minutes, the date my card would be charged changed to next year.
How does it link/connect the accounts? I have 3 year deal but my father in law is the head of the account for Verizon. Can you give me insight on how to add the Verizon deal to my account?
So when you follow the Verizon links it gives you a redemption code. If you're already logged in when the code generates, it's immediately redeemed to the account.
Ok thanks. Had my father in law just sign into my account and follow what you said.
Another question. My understanding is when the year is up it will continue with my 3 yr deal. Then I will be paying through Disney again. This does not ever bill Verizon account, correct? Am I understanding this correctly?
Yup, not worrying. I set one up a little after midnight and chose Verizon as my payment option. I figured it would sort itself out, which it did. Thank you.
