TL;DR
Level Grinding and Preparation
To effectively tackle the final boss, Nyx, it's recommended to grind your character's level to at least the mid-70s or higher. Some players suggest reaching level 85 or even 90 to make the fight more manageable [3:1]
[5:1]. Higher-level Personas can be fused to give you an edge, such as Messiah or Abaddon, which can nullify status effects
[3:2]
[3:3].
Fusion Spells and Persona Strategy
Utilizing powerful fusion spells like Armageddon, which combines Lucifer and Satan, can trivialize the boss fight by dealing massive damage [2:1]
[4:3]. Players recommend waiting to deploy these spells at opportune moments, especially if you're close to losing after a long battle
[5:2]. Additionally, ensure your Personas have skills that nullify charm and other status effects, either through heart items or accessories
[5:3].
Party Composition and Tactics
Choosing the right party members is crucial for this lengthy battle. A balanced team consisting of a healer/supporter, a physical attacker, and a magic attacker is recommended [5:1]. Using Fuuka's scan ability every time Nyx changes phases will help avoid ineffective attacks
[5:1]. It's also beneficial to use tactics to manage your party's actions strategically, ensuring they don't waste turns on nullified attacks
[3:4].
Battle Phases and Endurance
The final boss has multiple phases, making it one of the longest mandatory boss fights in the series [3:1]
[5:8]. Players report spending upwards of 40 minutes on this battle, so patience and endurance are key
[5:2]. Prepare for a war of attrition, and don't hesitate to use all healing items you've accumulated throughout the game
[3:4].
Additional Tips
Ensure your party is equipped with weapons that cover their elemental weaknesses, obtained through fusion at the antique shop [5:3]. Also, take care of practical needs like using the bathroom before starting the boss fight, as it's a lengthy endeavor
[5:6]. Lastly, keep practicing and be patient; understanding the phases and adapting your strategy accordingly will eventually lead to victory

(True Ending)
Honestly an amazing experience all around. I think the fact that only the true final boss is this difficult was a smart choice; if any earlier boss had given me that much trouble, I may not have enjoyed my time with this game as much as I did. It was however a considerable step up from any other boss, so I'm not sure how well it would be received by less invested gamers.
To anyone still stuck on that fight, keep practicing! Some of the guides on this Reddit also definitely helped me, but they are not a substitute for patience or skill
Hell yeah. I just killed the first boss. I'm at the airport, excited about my 2-hour flight.
I got it down to 2 hits and it charmed Aigis and she used Diarahan on it, I’m absolutely livid
I've fought that cock sucker about 40 times. I did a challenge to see if i could kill him with only reflects for another user, and that was 31 of them. But the other 9 times, hardest boss fight in any game for sure, especially on fes. In p3p i can get my rhythm going so it's a little easier but still. Nyx is a slimy cocksucker on hard
Oof I can’t even imagine it on hard, Nyx wasn’t really doing a lot of damage to me but my damage output wasn’t anything special so it was just a loooooooong fight
Once you learn the phases and what you gotta do is hard. But my first run on FES was terrible, i had like 8 restarts on his ass before i even got to the 13th arcana. But now i can do it in one go usually. P3p i haven't had to retry once however
Nyx is painfully unfun to fight, this is a normal occurrence unfortunately.
Yeah I just kinda peaced out and moved on to the answer, I don’t wanna do that whole deal again lmao
Did you atleast watch the ending?
I ended up painfully grinding to 99 and fused Lucifer and Satan for Armaggedon. At that level with my gear and personas, I solo'd Nyx up until the last stage and used Armaggedon.
Dear god you must have incredible patience
It was summer and I had no job. I put on podcasts and mindlessly killed. It took at least a week of like 5 hours a day play
I'm playing p3 and I'm on the last day, does anyone have any advice to make the fight less stressful/difficult?
I'm at level 70 and all my other party members at lvl 68-69.
My Personas are: lvl 70 Thanatos lvl 51 Koumokuten lvl 50 Decarabia lvl 55 Kali lvl 61 Raphael lvl 56 Alice lvl 52 Barong lvl 54 Hecatoncheires lvl 50 Yaksini lvl 62 Hariti
Continually fuse Abaddon until you get him with a heart item. Register him immediately before he gives it to you, then re-buy him again until you have 4 copies. His heart item nulls all status effects. Also, buy as many homunculi from the shop in Paulownia mall as possible.
i was actually a little higher level but it shouldn’t matter too much. If u have trouble usually just overleveling to around 85 or 90 should be a good fix. fusing messiah trivializes this boss too
thanks!!
I was around that level when I fought, don't be afraid to unload all those full heal items you probably have been hoarding, use the tactics menu when necessary and you should be fine until the end of the last phase.
My comment might be late but here goes.
You can beat nyx at that level but it's gping to be a lot easier if you grind up to around 75 and make personas around that level.
Now, when talking party composition it's pretty easy. I may be wrong, but in my experience, Nyx is by far the longest mandatory boss fight in the series, so you're in for a war of attrition. I would advise against taking Mitsuru or Akihiko. Mitsuru spams mind charge, if you didn't know in P3 and P3 only, mind charge only doubles the damage of magical attacks rather than multiplying it by 2.5, this means using mind charge then bufudyne would do the same amount of damage as just casting bufudyne twice but for more sp, since you're playing FES she's going to spam mind charge and run out of sp before the halfway point. Akihiko's debuffs last for 3 turns, but for every one of your turns, Nyx gets 2 meaning those debuffs cost 24 sp and are active for 1 turn especially since Akihiko's turn is normally last in the party. I recommend a healer, either Yukari or Ken, they're both fine here as long as you only set them to heal. Then you have a choice of tank, Koromaru or Junpei, again you can choose either one and they each have their pros and cons. For pure health and tankiness, choose Koromaru, for less tankiness for more damage, choose Junpei. Unless you double up on healer or tank your only option left is Aigis which I recommend if only for her buffs which last between Nyx's phases unlike Akihiko's debuffs.
Go all out on item usage, if you don't have a ton of recovery items don't over-extend before the final phase. But I must tell you, on FES revive items are a MUST here because Nyx will cast moonless gown almost every turn which is why the boss is so long. You cannot attack without dying while moonless gown is active and because of the way the command menu works, your party members will attack and die.
So you know how the final phase of the final boss has 6k health and is resistant to everything but almighty damage? So I go through 25 minutes chipping him away until he’s under 1.5k and he charms Mitsuru. Then she FULLY HEALS HIM. I’m in utter disbelief. So I go through another 25 minutes dealing practically chip damage. He’s so close to death. Akihiko gets charmed. He’s fully healed. Again. I don’t even want to continue, but I will. Anyone else go through something like this?
Same thing happened to me. I beat his death form twice but I was lvl 83 so I was good.
I... well... I hit it with Armageddon... sorry.
Helel + satan =profit
elemental break.
I saw somewhere that the boss uses charm and got Lovers fused weapons for everyone
it’s october 10 in my playthrough (wanna prepare early) and i’m wondering what party i should use and also easy personas to fuse, and anything else. thanks in advance:D
Final boss can be cheesed if you have the fusion spell Armageddon and wait to deploy it at the opportune time.
I’m not recommending you do this, I am letting you know that if you’re about to lose a 40+ minute boss fight you might be glad to be able to pull the ripcord.
isn’t it hard to get though?
Yes. To get Helel you need to max Star (not difficult) but also be at level 88. Satan, the other component, is available at level 79. If your MC is at 88, you’re probably prepared for the finale anyway.
In my first playthrough I was at 91 or 92 when I won, which is ample cushion.
Make sure that everyone has Null Charm, either as a Persona skill or from accessory (Narcissus' Heart item). It would also be good to cover the weaknesses of your teammates by giving them weapons with appropriate resistances (obtained by fusion in antique shop). Apart from that, nothing in particular.
just use matarukaja and a strong persona
Go to the bathroom before the boss, it’s a long one
yeah i’ve heard there are 13 phases…
so excited 😅
First get your team to the Mid 70s, that should be enough. Maybe 80.
Now i recomend your team, I recomend A healer/suporter, a phys attacker and a magic attacker (Personaly i used junpei, yukari and aigis).
Next is the MC, Fuse the highest level personas available and make extra sure thry are imune to death/holy. You DO NOT want to be insta killed mid battle.
As for the battle itself, Use fuukas scan every single time he changes phase, this is the most important part. Because if you dont, your party members might just spamm attacks nyx nulls
Avoid using debuffs. Nyx gets 2 turns and that somehow makes the debuffs last shorter, focus on purely buffs instead.
I dont recomend using Armageddon, it just really destroys the challange, and fun, of this battle.
Get a back up persona with mediarahan/salvation if something goes horribly wrong. Tetrakarn and makarakarn help too
I can’t go NG+ and want to really badly, I found this game surprisingly easy, learnt to parry and flew through the game, but at the end I just can’t kill the final boss, tried like 50 times, anyone else? Any tips please I don’t wanna start a new game just to play more
Well presumably you mean isshin, it depends where you are failing at, if you can post a video of an average attempt you can get better feedback
Phase 1 is fairly easy. He swings his sword and has very limited moveset. You can either deflect his ashina cross or run away to the left and he'll miss and you can hit him. He has a sweep you can jump on his head.
Phase 2 is the real challenge of the fight. He throws you a curveball and now has a very diverse moveset and punishes you for not knowing it. His spear has some serious reach and between the slower spear attacks and faster sword followups, you gotta be on your toes to deflect properly or he's gonna knock your ass on the ground and punish you. You can dodge his overhead jump slam he does with his spear to get a hit in. When he does the jump back spear attack you can dodge forward and get 1 hit in and then prepare to deflect
Phase 3 is phase 2 but with the benefit that he does does lightning. That's good. Reversing lightning on him stuns him and does massive posture damage and if you're lucky, he will spam the attack enough to where phase 3 can be shorter than phase 1. If you're unlucky or refuse to reverse lightning, it's phase 2 all over again
Thank you sir I will try
Look up vids on how to defeat him, no shame in that. It’s akin to a boxer studying his opponent’s previous fights. Thats how I figured out how to beat him. Realized my approach was wrong, he was still a bitch to take down but I did it!
Have you gotten to his third phase?
Not even 🤣
Mist raven is uderrated, can negate red attacks aswell.
In my opinion the third phase is the easiest cuz you can just touch his butt with his own lightning. The trick is not hesitating and not mentally giving up before the fight is even over. Confidence!!!
Have you tried killing the final boss?
There is 3h video on YT analyzing his moveset.
Watch the part that covers phase 1 then try to spot different visual clues as you are playing.
I had a very hard time connecting the visual clue with the reaction as I just did not know what to look for exactly.
When you already know his body language the rest is just a bit of practice and consistency
What an awesome fight. The pure bliss that you feel after beating him is one of a kinda. Took me around 2 weeks of fighting him every like 2-3 days for some time. And i beat him today. Really hard but also fair (mostly)
Awesome honestly lost a bit of a faith I could do it myself at first but after coming back from a good night's sleep with a clear head it only took me a couple more attempts after struggling for a good while beforehand.(Like over a week or so of failure)
Yea i realize that if you keep trying to fight him many times in a row you keep dying sooner. But if you take breaks in between. Or maybe even next day. You get further in the fight.
(Unrelated but this also kinda applies to studying for me)
Nice job dude! I beat it last night MY GOD it was hard.
Thanks and nice job to you too. It is indeed very hard. I haven’t played the sans boss fight as I don’t have the guts to do a genocide route in undertale. But before beating the knight I genuinely used to think he was on the same level or even harder than sans. But now i feel sans is harder. But knight is still VERY hard (and fun/infuriating)
One of the best feelings lmao. most of my friends are actually into bullet hells so it took them a small amount of time to beat it but after a few hours i managed to do it and it felt so nice
I beat him yesterday after 5 tries when I figured out to save Limit Break for the end 😭
That took me much more than 5 tries and i couldnt even ragequit because that would set me back to like an hour worth of prior phases lol
I only lost once and got to restart the last battle but my god... I am so scared of hard mode now.
My exact thought when I died was “Thank God they didn’t make me redo every phase like remake”
It will test you if you really learned the combat or not. Don't ignore the sinergy abilities.
That’s the reason I didn’t ragequit either. I thought “oh no do I have to do all the phases again”
Octoslash ruined my life when I almost had him beat. Really loved these sets of boss battles
You're scared because you fear he's going to break out, right? I fear that too, but I'm ready for if he suddenly starts talking directly to the player at any point during the game.
This took me so many hours the first time honestly.
In the case of the vanilla final boss? Same way I beat most bosses. Beat on them until their HP reached 0. My preference was to deal the final blow with Messiah, appropriate to the boss' namesake in Gnosticism.
It was a 4 hour struggle the first time. Because I was really bad with time management, Morgana and Igor were the only confidants I had maxed, so I didn't really have any good healing or revive items. So each time I went through the fight it was a war of attrition as to what would crack first, my SP or Yaldaboath's HP. And considering it took I think 18 tries to beat him, I think you know the answer. It was much easier the second time since I knew what I was doing by that point, and I expect it to be extremely easy when I get to it at the end of my third playthrough. Because this time I have Satanael, and have had him since like halfway through the first palace.
I had almost the same experience the first time I played vanilla!
Idk I didn't have any problems. Just usual buffs and charge then ded
He had all the arms out and his health was pretty low so I gambled and used a charge + debilitate + attack up on ryuji + megaton raid and it DESTROYED him lmao
Hassou Tobi'd his ass
I was over leveled. I had the auto-teamwide buffs equipped. Brought Ryuji, Ann, and Makoto (with President’s Insight equip). I debilitated Yaldaboth, then I kept charging and concentrating to do as much damage a possible. Guarded and healed when I needed to and defeated him before he could bring out the 3rd arm.
How to beat the final boss in Persona 3: Reload
Key Considerations for Beating the Final Boss in Persona 3: Reload
Level Up Your Characters: Ensure your party is at a high level (around level 70 or higher) to maximize their stats and abilities. Focus on leveling up your main character and key party members.
Optimize Your Personas: Equip Personas that have strong skills and resistances against the final boss's attacks. Consider using Personas with high magic stats and abilities that can exploit the boss's weaknesses.
Use Buffs and Debuffs: Utilize skills that increase your party's attack power or defense, and debuff the boss to lower its stats. Skills like "Tarukaja" (attack boost) and "Rakukaja" (defense boost) can be very effective.
Manage SP Wisely: Keep an eye on your SP (Skill Points) throughout the battle. Use items to restore SP if necessary, and save your most powerful skills for critical moments.
Focus on Weaknesses: Identify and exploit the boss's elemental weaknesses. Use skills that target these weaknesses to deal extra damage and knock the boss down.
Healing and Revives: Keep healing items handy and ensure you have a strategy for reviving fallen party members. Skills like "Media" or "Mediarahan" can help keep your team healthy.
Timing and Strategy: Pay attention to the boss's attack patterns and time your actions accordingly. Use defensive skills or items when you anticipate a powerful attack.
Recommendation: Prepare thoroughly before the fight by ensuring your team is well-equipped and has the right skills. Consider saving your game right before the boss encounter so you can retry if needed. Patience and strategy are key to overcoming this challenge!
