What Redditors are Saying

Unlocking All New Abilities in Persona 3: Reload

Understanding Tier 3 Personas

To unlock tier 3 personas for your party members, you need to interact with them during the third semester of the game. Even if their social link is maxed out, hanging out with them once more will trigger their third awakening. This is indicated by a "MAX!!!" card flickering like a rainbow, ensuring you don't miss any necessary interactions [1:4].

Skill Upgrades and Tokens

In New Game Plus (NG+), players can further upgrade their skills using + tokens. These upgrades enhance the abilities beyond their initial state, providing additional benefits such as increased damage or status effects. To achieve this, you may need to perform certain moves multiple times or grind in specific areas like the training arena [3:1][3:4]. While not all skills benefit equally from these upgrades, some can significantly enhance gameplay [3:7].

Experience Gain Mechanics

Experience gain in Persona 3: Reload can be complex due to anti-grind mechanics and experience splitting among party members. Experience points are distributed between characters and their personas, which might not match the displayed values after battles. Additionally, being over-leveled results in reduced experience gains, encouraging players to face stronger enemies for optimal leveling [5:1][5:6].

Cheat Codes and Skill Cards

For those using cheat codes to unlock all personas in the compendium, it's important to note that these personas may lack skills initially. To remedy this, players can use cheats to acquire skill cards, allowing them to equip their personas with desired abilities [2:1].

Speed Enhancements

While not directly related to unlocking abilities, players interested in speeding up gameplay can explore options like hyper and hurry modes, or even external tools like Cheat Engine on PC for faster progression [4:2][4:3]. However, these methods come with risks and may affect the overall gaming experience.

title. idk how to unlock tier 3s for my party members. do i just have to hang out with them on the map, even though it says they're max? will that do it?

Yep. Hang out with them once and they’ll unlock them. Alternatively, their “MAX!!!” card will be flickering like a rainbow which can help you make sure you don’t need to talk to anyone else

I'm doing this now in my second run. I didn't get to do yuskue the first time because I failed to max him out before the new semester

Having maxed out all of them, I can personally say Yusuke's t3 skill was my favorite of them all. Lobster boy carried the team as support through the final boss and reaper fights.

You can also max him out during the 3rd semester and still get his 3rd awakening.

Finishing up my 3rd New Game Plus play through and I JUST noticed this. All your skills can be upgraded even further with + tokens.

If you look at the pic I posted, the plus skills on the left kinda glow. The ones on the right are active but not upgraded. They do not glow.

omg me too i found this out literally only the other week on accident and then just let out the biggest groan of wow all my ng+ files are actually not at 100% and now i have to grind muspelheim even more for xp. good to know i'm not the only one tho hahaha

It took me 3 NG+ to naturally get materials to upgrade every single item. Having a little extra damage, stun or status definitely would have helped.

I believe this is available even in the base game, you just have to do the move a certain amount of times.

Go to the training arena and grind then there, it's the easiest way to do it Or do it on tanky enemies

ive been playing the new dlc and i can beat all the bosses in around 10 mins (at 3x speed) so i have to just wait 7 minutes for the stage to end for stage completion and it sure would be nice to have more speed boosts with a debuff like +1x speed and 2x enemy hp and dmg upgrades

Persona 3 Reload EXP Gain

Posted by Bremics · in r/PERSoNA · 1 year ago

How exactly does it work? I wanted to get to lvl 15 for a certain fusion before I end my grind for this calendar day in game, but the exp numbers don't seem to match what you get?

I was 168 EXP to next level, won a battle that said I got 90 EXP, then when I went to status it said I have 154 EXP to go?

Even if the EXP was split six ways between the three characters and three personas, that should be 15 EXP each instead of 14 EXP?

Is there something I missed?

I did a controlled experiment. Exp is split up between teammates/personas and isn’t really the same exp that is displayed. There’s other variables as well. If you’re over leveled you will get less exp. I tried solo running my MC to get him op like in P3P but it wasn’t working. The score would say 98exp gained but I only gained 23. Note my MC was 19 soloing floors 17-20ish floors. I stopped once I seen it didn’t work.

But fun recommendation! Try to get the toy bow! Rare monster can get enraged by it making grinding SUPER EASY for lvling 18-23ish. And don’t forget the fortune teller as well!

Will I get bonus XP if I’m under leveled?

2 upvotes on reddit
Bitter_Astronomer_38 · 1 year ago

I deleted previous comment since I did the experiment! Yesish? 👍. I did a run with Junpei lvl 23 and MC lvl 26 with no avaricious ring on a higher lvl floor (24-25 lvl) floor 66 so I can figure out the lvling. Junpei did gain 60exp more than MC. The leveling system seems to cap once you hit a threshold but you will still get exp regardless just not as much. If your characters are under leveled it will spike quickly! I noticed this since I like to do a single run through Tartar sauce lol and a second run if I’m not comfortable with my lvl (I beated P3P and I personally have PTSD from the final boss and 🫡 to those who beat P3 OG) But I would recommend always even though pricey but buy Avaricious Ring to help under lvled characters. You will want certain characters for your final boss fight that can buff and debuff so MC can use strong attacks or magic against the final boss! —take note: I’m playing on normal— This May variable with difficulty

I will say reaper is probably your best bet at exp farming but don’t fight one till your high enough lvl. They are extremely hard fights and you need to be already a high enough lvl to even think about it. Unless there is some exploit idk about

So I ran test. I got 39 exp at the end of battle, the MC, Yukari, and Junpei all got 6 exp while only the reason I used in battle got 13 exp. Not sure where the remaining 7 exp went though.

3 upvotes on reddit
kappanator_0 · 1 year ago

I also ran a test. I'm at the 3rd block where enemies still want to fight me and I'm not much over the enemy level. Did a test with just me and aigis. Got 941 xp and everyone (including fuuka) got 277. That leaves 110 xp going into the void. I'm not really sure what's happening

If it's like original I believe there is anti grind mechanics that reduce xp gain on lower level enemies.

It tries to always push you to equal or stronger enemies to get proper xp rates.

SebastianiumX · 1 year ago

The original does not work like that, I just finished replaying P3P.

1 upvotes on reddit
Bitter_Astronomer_38 · 1 year ago

P3P isn’t the original. It’s the portable. The mechanics were different for both. I never played P3 but I did play P3P and the same way I got my MC op isn’t working for P3R

You can also get a copy of the Agilao skill card from shuffle time on the Yabbashah floors, which makes sense as that's around the time you unlock Mothman (assuming that's why you need it)

It was a level 6 shuffle time skill card option, I got mine on floor 89, good luck.

Why do my Persona’s keep gaining levels and new abilities when I fuse them? It’s making me overpowered and the game too easy.

Posted by ZipZipZippo · in r/Persona5 · 4 years ago

So I’m replaying P5R. I am currently at Okumura’s palace.

My is level 44 and when I fuse new Persona’s they gain a shitload of experience which causes them to be really strong. Too strong. This happened in Futaba’s palace as well. I’m either one shotting enemies- or knocking them all down and doing all out attacks. I have access to really powerful spells such as Mabufudyne, Megidola, Concentrate, Charge and Diarahan. I don’t think I should have abilities that strong at the fifth palace. The enemies still use medium damage attacks.

It’s even worse during alarms:

For example I fused Kushinada at level 42. She ended up being level 47. I then did the Gallows once so I could get Psiodyne for the palace and Okumura boss, now she’s level 50.

Is it because of the arcana burst and the fact I actually payed attention to confidants this play through?

It’s the arcana burst perk you get from Igor. Personas gain exp. based on the arcana that they share with one your confidants, you usually get one level increase per every two ranks in a confidant. Also try playing on Hard if aren’t already, Merciless is technically easier and Normal is easier than Hard.

ZipZipZippo · OP · 4 years ago

That explains why Kushinada was so powerful. My lovers confidant is rank 10.

I’ll do another NG on hard if I play it again. I never did NG+ though. Why did my stupid ass start a new new game?
