TL;DR: To collect all keepsakes in Hades, you need to give Nectar to each character who can receive it. Some characters and keepsakes become available only after certain story milestones or conditions are met.
General Strategy for Collecting Keepsakes
In Hades, keepsakes are obtained by giving Nectar to various characters throughout the game. Most characters will give you a keepsake upon receiving their first Nectar gift. However, some characters require specific conditions to be met before they accept Nectar or provide a keepsake [1:7],
[2:5].
Specific Characters and Conditions
Progression and Patience
Many players find that simply continuing to play the game and interacting with characters regularly will eventually unlock all keepsakes. The game is designed to reward persistence and exploration, so keep engaging with the story and characters [1:6],
[4:9].
Additional Tips
By following these strategies and remaining patient, you'll be able to collect all the keepsakes in Hades and enjoy the rich narrative and gameplay rewards the game offers.
Haha thanks for the replies guys. Loving this game and gonna keep playing to answer my own question.
Spoiler below how to get it if you want:
>!After defeat Hades 10 time, your mother will come to hell with you. Give her a nectar and you get your final keepsake.!<
Can't figure this out for the life of me. Wiki says there are 23 keepsakes, yet I see 24. Have already beaten Hades and even tried gifting him thinking it would give me something when I knew it wouldn't.
Plz help this is driving me nuts
You're missing two. That require you to complete at least 10 escapes.
One the game basically just locks the giftee off till the story concludes, while another is someone you've already gifted that didnt give you anything, but if you gift them again when given the chance. You'll get a keepsake
Saying the same thing as the person below me, you just gotta keep playing and you'll eventually unlock the missing one. The wiki also hasn't been updated right away with everything released from 1.0 since people are still finding stuff.
This question like most questions has the same answer, just keep playing. There is so much story and abilities that are just unlocked by playing more. Just keep playing
You're actually missing 2. Like the other 2 here have said just keep playing and being a nice guy to everyone.
In the update it said there are 2 new keepsakes. In the keepsake screen I only see 1 that isn't unlocked. I assumed Persephone would have one but I haven't been unable to gift her any of the 5 times I have seen her. Do I need to reach there more times or what. If someone knows how to unlock the new keepsake/s please tell. I don't mind being spoiled I want to have all the unlocks
Well if you want a spoiler, here it is: you'll get the last keepsake from Hades himself after you've reached Persephone 10 times (which triggers the main ending - you can keep track of it by checking "Greece" in your Codex since it also requires 10 escapes to complete) and give him a second bottle of Nectar. And that's also when you'll be able to gift Nectar to Persephone and get her keepsake.
I finished the game some time ago now and I still can't give Hades the first gift ;-; I don't know what to do but the completionist in me is crying
To continue spoiler talk. I have gotten credits to roll. Hades' hearts are no longer locked. The game is not giving me the option to gift him anything still. Do you know if im missing anything?
Not to my knowledge - if there's no lock you should be able to gift him the next time you see him. Perhaps he was in a discussion with someone? There are quite a lot of conversations between two NPCs in the next runs after the credits so that could be it?
Mine didn't open up until a specific conversation. Probably took about ten runs our so after credits, so I must have had come other conversations queued up.
Thank you! So I just have to keep playing the game. Nice!
Thank you =)
I have 80 runs in this game, got all but one keepsakes. I just dont know how to get >!eris!< to let me give them nectar! is there some trick to it? do I need 100 >!trash!< or something?
I don't know what I did specifically, I just know that I killed her a lot and talked to her as many times as possible. Offered her nectar (rejected), then bait (rejected), and after a couple more talks then nectar again, which she accepted.
Glad it’s not like echo where I missed something obvious at least
I recently was able to give her nectar after dying to her on like night 150.
I think the problem is you can't gift people things while Mel and said character are at odds sometimes. I gave Eris a nectar very early on before all the angst started but seems like there's a large gap where you cant
Yeah, I gave her nectar the very first time she showed up at the Crossroads, having never encountered her out in the Underworld route because I'm a scrub, and it worked right away
Weird. She’s not letting me in the crossroads. Maybe she gets pissy if you don’t do it immediately?
You have quite a bit more to unlock.. Keep playing and don't be stingy with your nectar and Ambrosia. Give it to everyone that will take it.
Aphrodite doesn't take any more nectar and doesn't take ambrosia in my game (we are at max "trust" or whatever it's called). How do I get her to accept it?
You need to give nectar and Ambrosia to Dusa, Thanatos and Meg to maximize Aphrodite
she'll give you a 'request' just keep playing and interacting
Each god, when you max out on nectar with them, the give you a favor you have to do, kind of like a quest, that you have to do, before you can start giving them ambrosia. And for Aphrodite, her favor is that you have to max out on nectar and ambrosia , with than, dusa; and Meg, before you can start giving her ambrosia.
You're not even 25% through the game
That's a bit of an exaggeration. It depends on what you consider to be "the end of the game", since Hades' story is designed to let you keep playing as long as you want, but by most measures, OP is definitely more than 25% done.
You’ll find out after a specific number of clears
I'm fucked then, had my first and only escape at 25 . I'm at 58ish somewhere and since my escape it's been nothing but resources each room.
nah don't worry, I got good at escaping at ~70 and when you finally escape with every weapon you can finally focus more on your favorites
I had my first escape at 90. Keep trying :D
This is exactly the response I needed. Thank you for answering without spoiling.
So I know giving him nectar doesn't work (both because I read it somewhere and because I tried because I wanted to see what would happen). I thought that maybe if you beat him the first time, you get his keepsake. Instead I just got titan blood, which is fine by me but I also want to get that darn keepsake so I can finish the prophecy! How do you get his keepsake?! I just want dad to love me enough to give me his stuff. :'(
I’ve beaten Hades like 30 times and not gotten his keepsake
Did you ever solve this?
Because I gave him Nectar at one point early in the story, he has a lock symbol, I just finished my 10th Ending Clear and 11th clear and I can't press R2 to give Hades another Nectar.
Still locked heart Symbol
After beating the game and getting the credits (which requires beating him 10 times), you'll be able to give him another nectar, which will unlock his keepsake. This doesn't happen immediately, and as far as I can tell it's pretty random as to when it triggers, aside from that it has to be after you beat the main story.
Beat him 10 times then eventually give him nectar
OK, so below is my guide (first vows, then arcana, then keepsakes and boons, then general thoughts). Heads up what works for me might not work for you. Sister blades were my last 32 heat and by far the hardest for me.
TAKEN Vows:
Blood (Max, +100% damage)
Dominance (Max, enemies have +30% life)
Rebuke (Max, enemies have 2 shields)
Fury (Max, enemies are +40% faster)
Suffering (x1, double damage for first hit. Do *not* max this alongside maxed vow of blood or the first hit in a region can be utterly insane)
Commotion (Max, +60% more foes)
Haunting (Max, +50% revenant chance)
Wandering (Max, +50% chance foes from higher region)
Scars (rank 2, healing at 50%. Do *not* max this, as it totally negates all healing except death defiances, meaning that even fountains don't help.)
Destitution (rank 1, +40% expense to all costs. I think maxing makes buying anything outright too hard and isn't worth one more fear)
Panic (50% magick at start of each location. So much easier than when this was 0% before the last patch.)
Forsaking (when you choose a boon, the unselected boons will be excluded for the rest of your run. This one is an ouch, but I thought better than other options).
SKIPPED Vows:
Bitterness: This vow means four fewer boons over the course of the run, and losing your first is a big deal since early boons help get your build going and make it easier to kill those mobs and guardians. You could consider it instead of forsaking (since that will usually max your boons in 2 gods easily), or lessen some of the rest of the pain from mobs. In my mind, this is the one I'm most on the fence about, since three fear is sizeable.
Arrogance: You *want* higher rarity boons; this punishment is huge for only one fear.
Desperation: At high fear, I need to dodge a lot and run around, cast to trap chasers, and spend as much time avoiding damage as I do killing mobs. This means all my 32 fear runs are over the 36 minutes that even the lowest time limit would give.
Abandon: I want my arcana.
TAKEN Arcana (bolding the ones I think are crucial):
I - The Sorceress (1 grasp) - slows as charging omega moves (this is a must for survivability, especially with fast mobs)
II - The Wayward Son (1 grasp) - restore life on leaving location (adds up, also helps me activate Divinity, but less crucial)
III - The Huntress (2 grasp) - deal +50% damage with less than 100% magick (I like, but less crucial)
V - The Moon (0 grasp, from activating IX) - hex charges automatically (this is *quite* good with many hexes)
VII - The Titan (2 grasp) +40 life and magick at start. absolutely crucial. It's almost 2 centaur hearts and two soul tonics. Non negotiable. Also helps activate Divinity.
IX - The Unseen (5 grasp): Magick recharges automatically. Required.
XII - Eternity (4 grasp): 3 death defiances. Might as well activate the Vow of Abandon if you don't want this one. Also activates Divinity.
XIII - The Centaur (0 grasp): Get 5 max life and magick every 5 locations. This adds up and is quite good.
XVI - The Fates (3 grasp): 3 dice, can alter locations. You'll need this. It can be great to alter a minor location if it'll give you a guaranteed nectar (which is also a random pom), or a miniboss to your desired god. The more dice the better.
XVII - The Boatman (5 grasp): 300 starting gold. OK, this one is debatable for this much grasp, but it helps activate both the Seer (which is very, very good) and Divinity. Also, with the Vow of Destitution this can be very helpful to solidify your build early. You could swap for other arcana, but I think the downside would be better than the upside.
XVIII - The Artificer (3 grasp): Change 3 minor rewards to major rewards. This used to be six grasp before the last patch and I'd still find a way to make it work at that earlier level. Turning an early ash into a boon is spectacular, but even a centaur heart is still stellar. And you get to do that three times!
XX - The Queen (0 grasp): +10% duo chance
XXI - The Seer (0 grasp): 4 dice. This is stellar, and a reason to grab XVI, XVII, and XXII.
XXII - The Champions (4 grasp): 3 dice, can alter boons and some other rewards. This is necessary and more dice is better always.
XXIV - Divinity (0 grasp): +20% epic chance. This is stellar, and a solid reason to activate a row or column.
SKIPPED ARCANA:
All arcana are good. There are solid reasons to sub in many perhaps especially The Messenger, Origination, The Lovers, Excellence, or Strength, but doing so would almost certainly deactivate some of the zero cost I've got.
I've had fun with Judgment (XXV - 0 grasp) on 0 fear runs. You end up with more arcana by Tartarus, but the randomness hurts the early game.
Keepsakes:
I always start with the Crystal Figurine from Echo. Getting one extra arcana is solid, and if you hit Judgment after Hecate, you've got the jackpot since you'll fill your arcana completely by Tartarus. You could also consider a god if you want to force a build you love, or the purse or something, but I like this.
I'll usually swap to a god's keepsake for regions 2 and 3 to help solidify my build and elements. Having access to five gods is very good with the Vow of Forsaking, since you have to be careful not to exhaust gods' boons and wind up getting either a pittance of gold or forced to take a sacrifice boon you don't want.
Narcissus's Aromatic Phial is sometimes great to swap into after Region 1 if there's a boon you know you'll turn heroic that will just be killer (usually an attack, special, or cast boon that is your only common boon). If you take the Phial, remember to take it before you use the fountain (and to use the fountain after the next boss before swapping keepsakes), since you'll get the bonus life!
Echo's Concave Stone can be great before the Mourning Fields if your build is coming together but be careful--it can sometimes give you boons you don't want and I have seen it not hit even with a 75% chance and several boons (that's what happened on my final 32 fear win with the twin blades!)
For Tartarus and grandpa, several options can work. Skelly's Luckier Tooth can give you the save you need, but Odysseus's Knuckle Bones will likely save you more life against grandpa. Chaos's Transcendent Embryo can be quite good, although very random. And assuming you've taken some hits, Medea's Blackened Fleece can provide quite a damage boost for the last bit.
Boons:
Zeus's Storm Ring (cast) is one of my favorites. Although it only hits one enemy, it can cut through bosses quickly. And if you get Apollo and can Duo to Glorious Disaster, this is just murder.
Poseidon's Double Up is stellar early on, but remember that on its own it doesn't help your build. Water Fitness (infusion) is terrific: every water boon is 60% of a centaur heart and you'll have several from Poseidon already.
From Demeter, an early Plentiful Forage can really add up. In my experience, Frosty Veneer (six water infusion) is an autowin if you activate it. You'll have lots of life and this will negate those vows of blood and suffering--and even grandpa's autokill hits! If you get an early Demeter, this is a reason to force Poseidon and Aphrodite and go for this.
Aphrodite's Life Affirmation early is similar to Double Up for me--it's a big boost. Wispy Wiles infusion is quite good, especially if you can buff it with Zeus, Hermes, and Apollo.
With the axe or staff, prioritize percentage-increasing gods (Apollo, Demeter, Hera, or Aphrodite for close range attacks) for your attack and special.
My absolute favorite Duo is Elementary Particles (Hera + Hestia), since it's four infusions! Hestia's Hearth Gain is solid and will help activate this.
Golden Rule (Hera + Poseidon) can build massive damage, but with high fear you're going to be spending that gold quickly, so it's less valuable than at lower fear.
Glorious Disaster (Apollo + Zeus) turns your omega cast into a murder machine.
Other general thoughts:
Go with Frinos--the extra max life and some projectile intercepts is better than Toula's one dinky death defiance and a few strikes. The spirits he auto-rescues can give an air element, which is great for whispy wiles. Don't forget to make sure Frinos is between you and the center of the room in your fight with Hecate before knocking her into her second shield: he'll eat the transformation curse and quite possibly save you a lot of damage.
I recommend the shovel, but the rod is also an ok choice. The shovel makes more digging spots appear and if you have an early Plentiful Forage this is easily worth an extra 100 max health over a run. The rod makes more fishing spots appear and these can give you a water element, building towards Demeter's Frosty Veneer or giving bonus life from Water Fitness.
If a particular build is easier for you, consider forcing it by choosing the god's keepsake before Erebus instead of the Crystal Figurine. I'm pretty solid with all gods, but we all have our preferences. If something works for you, lean into it for the 32 Fear!
A lot of this guide involves running around dodging mobs, of which there will be a ton, picking them off, and then grabbing those revenants before they respawn. That's why my 32-fear runs are slooooow.
Hexes can be helpful for this reason. While Night Bloom (respawn your last killed mob) can be useful for the massive damage (they can cut through even Cerberus or grandpa pretty quickly!), my top is Dark Side. The invulnerable mode makes it easy to grab those revenants and get in some damage. Remember that there is a small window right after you activate while you are exposed to damage. Phase Shift slows things down enough to make it essentially safe, and one of the upgrades on Total Eclipse makes you invulnerable to damage before the meteor lands. This is outright the best if you can get it. My last win was due to Total Eclipse: I'd spam Omega Moves, filling my Hex, then summon the meteor and get in a bunch of hits and collect revenants while invulnerable.
Hope this is helpful--and if any of it doesn't work for you, throw that out and go with what makes your run easier!
My vows are the complete opposite. I always use vow of desperation maxed out and vow of scars maxed out. I never touch the ones that increase mob hp, increase the amount of mobs per spawn, revenants, and vow of suffering. Im confused about you calling vow of forsaking "an ouch" as it makes it easier to force specific builds imo. I always swap to engraving pin at oceanus to deal with vow of scars and most runs take around 12-15 min, I basically play my 32 runs the same as when I'm speedrunning.
I also never play without lovers + strength card those are insanely op imo, with lovers literally don't take any damage against the first 3 bosses at all.
wow my vows are almost the complete opposite. I don’t take dominance, suffering and commotion, blood is at either 20/60%, scars and destitution at max, and desperation at the 5min timer.
I think that if you remove all the extra health and damags, it would be way easier to clear rooms quickly
This, you can get to 32 fear without ever making it harder to kill enemies, if you get past erebus on 5 minute timer and have decent attack/cast boons that apply origination the timer is not gonna be an issue at all in my experience if you play right and take all non-combat chambers that appear. Especially the new vow of haunting is almost free
Great guide overall! Although I find that I prefer the fast approach. My 32 fear runs acually tend to be my fastest ones because I have the timer on. If I hurry a bit it just feels like a lot of fear essencially for free and then I dont need the hassle of more enemies for example.
This is excellent advice. Great guide.
I've taken to taking gods keepsakes from the crossroads just to ensure I've got the God I want to suit the weapon, but I definitely see the value in the Crystal Figurine.
I tend to agree about the vows as well. I did some 32 clears with the timer and found it too hit or miss. So much more reliable to just take your time and avoid getting hit by working the positioning.
I can confirm it works. You just need to bond with Chaos, then equip their keepsake and meet them a few more times—I needed three. After that, just beat Chronos, but make sure you don’t swap out the Chaos keepsake.
Embryo remains my first zone keepsake for almost all runs except high fear where some weapons I just need certain boons for to make fun. This was such a pleasant surprise and a really fun challenge.
So before I waste my time if this isn't how it works: Can someone please confirm that since it doesn't specify beating Chronos and/or Typhon, it doesn't matter which path you take, as long as you start with Transcendent Embryo and get the W in the end without switching to another keepsake?
Yeah it doesnt matter which path you take afaik, i did it with chronos
Oh, is that what those little faces over the keepsakes mean?
No, it means you maxed out the relationship with a character
I still wish this gave a 4th level to the keepsake, specially now that a 4th level is programmed in for that duo.
It’s a fun challenge. I’d be down for an all random keepsake similar to great chaos above, but I’d like to be able to choose the weapons and arcana.
I am missing on;y these 3 keepsakes. Does anyone knows where can I find them? Thanks in advance. 😊
Give nectar to Echo (Fields NPC encounter). You can't do this until some amount of the narcissus plot is traversed.
Give nectar to Heracles (random encounter in Ephyra, Thessaly, and Olympus). You can't do it the first few times.
Give Nectar to Medea (Ephyra NPC encounter).
Actually for Echo I think you can give her nectar after the first few encounters, it’s just that the gift option shows up AFTER you talk to her.
Wow thank you very much for all these prompt responses. The only NPC I didn’t find yet is Medea. I guess she will show up eventually.
She's a very helpful npc, and imo her keepsake is super good for omega runs
She’s the friendly NPC up in the city. She does not appear every time you enter the city.
To get a new chance at seeing her you need to
A) Win a run
B) loose a run
C) Have completed the acceptance of another fate incantation that allows you to re-roll your runs rng seed.
In Order to get the incantation you need to obtain the 16 fear statue, beat Chronos and Typhon at least 7 times each. I think there might be another requirement but I can’t remember what it is.
Echo (Fields of Mourning), Heracles (Ephyra/Thessaly), and Medea (Ephyra).
Note that you usually don't get Echo's "Gift" prompt right as you talk to her. You may need to move away after talking to her and then approach again for it to appear.
They're from Echo (Mourning fields NPC), Medea (Ephyra NPC) and Heracles (Upper route NPC)
Echo, Heracles, and Medea I believe. You can also check by using the codex and seeing who you haven't gifted necter yet
Hey guys, I'm new to the game. I just gave Zeus some nectar. How to I equip the keep he gave me. Thanks.
Nevermind, I figured it out thanks to this video. Hades - Keepsake Guide
Good luck on finishing the game, i recommend you play with a headset it's a whole nother game with the music.
you are missing the 8th, 22nd, 25th and 27th keepsakes.
you're welcome.
Eris, Dionysus, Echo and Medea
Ah I’ve only ran into Medea and Dionysus once despite beating typhon quite a few times now and I guess I just forgot to gift to eris
But I’m confused because I never get a gifting prompt when I see echo in the fields so do I have to like do a storyline with narcissus or something?
I always try to save a bottle of nectar on hand for either my faves so I can max them quickly or give to new people.
I've found sometimes I can only gift to Echo after I've spoken to her. The prompt doesn't come up otherwise.
You can only gift to echo after you've talked to her since all of her dialogue depends on the first thing Mel says to her.
Just keep playing, reading dialogue, giving gifts if you can and looking at the prophecy list, eventually you will do everything needed
little tip though you wont need it anymore: check the relationships menu to see which characters didnt give you their gift yet, then plan your run to find them.

Eris’ is the top row and Medea is the bottom row right one. Don’t remember others off the top of my head
Just remembered, Dionysus is middle row and bottom row left is Echo
