TL;DR Focus on completing weekly and daily challenges, utilize XP boosts, and engage in activities that reward powerful gear. Crucible matches are particularly efficient for quick leveling.
Season Pass and XP Boosts
To level up quickly in the Season Pass, prioritize completing seasonal challenges as they offer significant XP rewards [1:1]. Weekly challenges are also highly effective for fast progression
[1:2]. Masterworking your ghost with an XP gain mod and playing with friends can further boost your XP through "Shared Wisdom"
[1:3].
Powerful Gear Activities
For increasing your light level, focus on activities that reward powerful gear. These include completing bounties for Shaxx, Zavala, Drifter, and Banshee, as well as participating in Gambit matches and Crucible playlists [2:1]. Avoid raids and dungeons if you're looking for solo and quick completion
[2:2].
Crucible Matches
Crucible is widely regarded as one of the fastest ways to level up due to frequent drops at the end of matches and rank-up rewards [4:2]
[4:8]. Modes like Survival Freelance and Rumble are particularly efficient
[3:2]
[3:3].
Efficient Grinding Techniques
Running strikes, public events, and engaging in PvP can quickly increase your level up to the soft cap [4:1]. For quick gains, some players recommend farming specific locations like Anchor of Light for chest drops
[4:4]. Additionally, turning in tokens and materials to vendors can provide upgrades
[4:6].
Campaign Completion and Pinnacle Rewards
Completing campaigns such as Witch Queen or Lightfall can rapidly boost your level to a certain point [5:5]. Once you reach the soft cap, focus on activities that offer powerful and pinnacle gear rewards to continue progressing
[5:1]
[5:2]. Playing multiple characters each week and transferring high-level weapons between them can also optimize your leveling strategy
[5:4].
Hey everybody,
I logged on last night and did a double take when I saw the pass ends in 14 DAYS. I've been busy the past 2 months (being a new dad) so I haven't had as much time to play since the expansion came out and am only level 56. Am finally about to finish the campaign lol. I really want the exotic catalyst and it's ornament; outside of targeting weekly challenges are there other ways to level up quickly?
Weekly challenges are 100% the fastest way.
That being said, if you clear a ton of bounties for Banshee etc. that may be solid.
Like others have said, complete dailies and weeklies in the portal, but there are also other things to note.
Here's the play:
For redeeming daily challenge completions, while it is more XP efficient to be on a buddy's Fireteam in the tower when you redeem it, it is not time optimal.
Complete and redeem the daily and weekly challenges as you complete them but make sure your XP ghost mod is on.
Save your seasonal challenges for the 1st day of weekly reset, join a friend's Fireteam while in the tower or in orbit and wait until you see the "Shared Wisdom" buff on your inventory & stats screen. Make sure your XP ghost mod is on, and then slam the challenges with the most XP rewarded (+++ > ++ > +) for an easy instant 5-12 reward pass levels. Then just slam the rest as you will have depleted your Rested buff by the first challenge completion reward.
I didn't know about these specific details!! Thanks that's a big help 🤝
Try completing the classic bounties: Nessus, Cosmodrome, the Moon and Europa have bounties you can complete every day from portal activities, also Banshee’s if they fit your builds. That’s some extra xp.
Cool thanks for the advice
Try to double-dip and work multiple things at once: focus on the seasonal challenges, and while you're doing those you can also make sure you're knocking out the weekly Portal challenges as well. Pick up a few Banshee bounties, too!
Seasonal challenges will give you the most, though. I'm only at around 30 finished, and between that and ~5 weeks' worth of weekly challenges I've finished the reward pass. You can definitely do this!
And congrats on the new arrival! My little one came right before the launch of Witch Queen, I remember running Vow lf the Disciple for the first time with no mic and no game audio to make sure I wouldn't disturb the baby sleeping lmao. Enjoy!
Thank you! I totally understand playing without sound for the same reason haha. Well done raiding under those circumstances, that's a feat for sure 👏
It was easy enough to do what I was told haha, "stand on this pillar and block with the shield to cleanse us, we'll come to you" 😂
Holding the Aegis and babysitting Caretaker were my duties, the team ran strategies otherwise that let me focus on add clearing. Managed to communicate with emotes if I needed to say something, it was a great, weird time.
Literally just play portal, do all the challenges related to it and mop up what's left after that
I’m a 920
Just go to every destination and do every activity that can award powerful gear that you can do alone and quickly. So skip the raids, dungeons and 100k nightfall
You have to do things that reward "powerful gear". These will all be listed in your director. It's stuff like doing 8 bounties for Shaxx / Zavala / Drifter / Banshee, playing 3 gambit matches, 4 crucible rotator playlist matches / 4 crucible core playlist matches etc...
The season pass / XP grind is different, and doesn't give you higher light items.
What level are you now?
Tons of topics and posts about this in the past week, search for “season pass” or “grind” or similar terms
Thanks
Hey guys after d2 year one I've finally started to play again and just bought all the DLC. I'm at level 775 at the moment. Whats the quickest way I can level up to softcap I guess?
If you’re good at crucible, survival freelance or with friends is a good idea
Don't do any powerful stuff and you get 3 blues at the end of crucible matches usually or do strikes and get blues that way. Usually crucible is super fast for leveling no matter what level you are.
And specifically rumble. The games are typically faster than other game modes. And honestly it will make you a better player most likely too
If you're looking for efficiency, dumping materials into a vendor will give you upgrades up to 1000.
Is there any way I can get from 860 to 900 in about two hours? If so then how?
I did that in Crucible last night. You get a lot of drops at the end of matches, plus the rank-up drops. Then you'll get tokens as well to turn in. My opinion is that Crucible is by far the fastest. If you are decent, run Comp and you'll get rewards from glory rank-ups and valor rank-ups.
You want those easy rank up packages to take you above 900 though
Crucible would probably be the fastest one, as PEs you have to wait for them to spawn and Strikes you are dependent on luck and teammates.
Anchor of light, kill hive knight, climb the platforms that spawn, get chest with +5-7 drops. Spawn back at Eris, sparrow to anchor. The first platform will still be there or the yellow bar knight will be. Went from 845 to 900 in 30 mins. Quick and easy.
Faster than playing crucible?
By far, you get maybe 4 matches in 30 mins cruci. Can get that chest 15 times in 30 mins. And the public event/high value target is there every 5 mins. It was surprisingly fast.
It's kinda boring, but it's hella efficient.
There's been a few threads about it, you can't miss them
Equip something with a decent scope as well and then you can find the chests around the area whilst you wait.
Don't do PVPor gambit until you are 900 because if you rank them fully you get a powerful reward.
My advice is do even and strikes.
Turn in Crucible or Vanguard tokens, or planetary mats to Vendors.
Pvp, by far. Got my second and third characters from 750 to 910 in an hour each
That’s why I just spawned back at Eris, no wait for chest to reset. Speedy.
You can go from 860 to 900 in less than one hour. Just run some strikes/pvp/public events. The road to 900 is easy, after that the real grind begins.
Genuinely curious
For leveling your light level you’ll want to do powerfuls and pinnacles. Braytech has a list and there are methods to min maxing but you’ll likely want to just make sure you are doing at least all your pinnacles each week
Legend litefall. Gets you 1770 by the end plus you get to pick 1 of 2 new exotics.
Play 3 characters each week. Transfer your highest level weapons and focus on pinnacle and powerful reward activities.
Witch Queen or Lightfall campaign will be fastest up to a certain point. Otherwise anything that says “powerful” or “pinnacle” will be a bit faster
Just play the game until you reach the soft cap, then you want to be looking for powerful gear and pinnacle gear rewards
Hey guys so I just beat the Final Barron but I'm way underleveled for the Final Mission. What would be the best way to level up?
Collect Regional Chests.
Will do, dumb question, do they should up on the map or are they something you just stumble upon?
Marked directly on the map with the little "+" like symbol.
Complete some challenges which reward legendary engrams, ie daily gambit, daily crucible, but most importantly if you have not already, REGION CHESTS! Grab them all. They give a lot of XP and a guaranteed light boost. Try to get to PL 451 or above and you should be good.
Alright will do man!
Hey guardians, I’m just now getting back into destiny 2 after a long break, I haven’t played since before the Witch Queen dlc (The level cap was 1900, what I’m at currently). I figured I would just start grinding through all the story missions I missed chronologically. Any and all tips, hints, or comments are appreciated. Thank you!
i would highly recommend always having 100 resilience, no matter what in PvE.
Don't bother on getting stuff this season. It's going to change into a different Episode. Or Episode: [blank] Act 1.
I just watched aztecross on YouTube to get caught back up (I’m also a returning player)
There’s a new “season” starting tomorrow. Focus on that when it comes out. In the mean time just get exotics you want/need.
Last time I played was in the pirate season during witch queen (September 2022?). A lil while ago ps plus gave away lightfall and now I just caught final shape on sale so I figured it was a good time to jump back in. Im currently running through the lightfall legendary campaign and I’ll follow that up with final shape.
I know bungie added an in-game lfg but I think it’d also be nice to have some regular people to do a chill dungeon with or exotic missions or even raids. And id be down to help anyone as well as soon as I get leveled up. So feel free to message me with your bungie name or leave a comment. Thank you thank you.
Add me! Lets#9370 in a clan that does alot of end game content always looking to help people through raids and dungeons!

Hey so im now just getting back into D2 Currently i believe im a 808 Titan anyone have tips on how to power level fast? Thanks!
Grab as many bounties as you can, since they give a good amount of Exp, and get powerful gear to level up your power level
Bounties, but turn them in with a clanmate or friend in a fireteam because the xp boost
Mrs. Butterworth in the tower has double XP bounties (EVA)
If you have tokens ofr crucible or vanguard, use them.
Bounties. Especially in Gambit. Between regular Gambit and Prime you can knock out tons of bounties. Then the crucible, vanguard, obelisk etc bounties. After that each day just grind activities like Sundial, Gambit, Crucible, and/or strikes. Also you can do destination bounties, those reward xp.
I’ve been an on and off player since d2 came out so I’m kinda behind in terms of my exotic weapon count. Currently trying to get guardian rank 10 and this is the last thing I need. Out of the ones I’m missing which are the fastest/easiest you’d recommend I go for? ( I only have 2 exotic ciphers left).
The 3 glaives can be knocked out at the same time, chaperone is guaranteed from a quick new light quest, and parasite and salvation’s grips are guaranteed from easily soloable missions. Those would be the easiest / most guaranteed 6 by far in my opinion
do you have all the dlcs? and if you do, have you spent the 3 free forsaken ciphers?
Yes I just recently bought them all and spent the ciphers. Although the only campaigns I have done is light fall, the final shape and whichever the stasis one is so im not sure if the other campaigns have exotics tied to them
both salvations grip and the lament are post campaign exotics from beyond light, they aren't too hard to obtain from their respective quests.
and if you get around to doing witch queen, you can get osteo striga and eventually parasite
another thing you can do is do the rite of the nine dungeon quest this week to get a choice between the navigator or heirarchy of needs. explorer mode has matchmaking and from what i hear is pretty easy to do.
i would spend those ciphers on any missing exotics if you have any in the monument too
I believe Cloudstrike drops randomly from any Empire Hunt just repeatedly run on the easiest level. (You said you'd done Beyond Light (stasis) campaign. There might be a few extra steps afterwards to unlock the Empire Hunts.)
Also Xur sells a random selection every Friday. He sells a 'quest' that gives you an exotic cypher for doing 21 playlist strikes (I think). Apart tfrom the ones already mentioned most of the ones you are missing are from raids or purchasable from the Monuments to Lost Light Exotic Archive, grind out cyphers using the Xur quest.
I think Parasite needs a Witch Queen completion plus some extra steps. Similarly I think Lament needs Beyond Light completion plus some extra steps.
Legend of Acrius and Tarrabah need a cypher and 240 raid spoils of conquest each from the Exotic Archive.
Good luck.
Forerunner, salvation grip, Div, parasite, lament, malfeasance and deathbringer are the only quest ones you have left.
Ostea striga you just craft after completing witch queen campaign and glaives are also a quest from witch queen.
Everything else is either a raid/dungeon drop, or bought from the monument
Just to add to this one you unlock the first glaive you can buy the other two with cyphers from the board on your other two characters rather than grinding wellspring
Don't forget cloudstrike, it drops relatively quickly from empire hunts.
Depends on your luck tbh. Had a friend who had a lot of trouble with it. High drop rate but it’s not guaranteed.
Getting Divinity is more complicated than just a quest, it requires solving a puzzle that requires multiple players coordinating through a raid (Garden of Salvation) and then beating the final raid boss within that same run, it's impossible to solo.
The others in that list you can solo so would be easier to obtain.
I mean it is from a raid. But it is a quest that requires a clear/puzzles in the raid and guarantees the drop.
How to level up quickly in Destiny 2: The Final Shape
Key Considerations for Leveling Up Quickly in Destiny 2: The Final Shape
Focus on Seasonal Activities: Participate in seasonal events and activities that grant high XP rewards. These often include seasonal quests, challenges, and public events.
Complete Weekly Milestones: Make sure to complete your weekly milestones, such as Nightfall strikes, Crucible matches, and Gambit games. These provide significant XP boosts.
Engage in Bounties: Pick up bounties from vendors and complete them for additional XP. Focus on bounties that align with your playstyle or the activities you enjoy.
Utilize XP Boosts: Equip gear with XP bonuses, such as seasonal artifacts or mods that enhance XP gains. You can also use consumables that provide temporary XP boosts.
Join Fireteams: Playing with friends or joining a fireteam can make activities easier and faster, allowing you to complete them more efficiently and earn more XP.
Participate in Raids and Dungeons: These activities offer high-level rewards and can provide a lot of XP when completed successfully.
Engage in PvP: Playing Crucible matches can yield XP, especially if you complete challenges or win matches.
Recommendation: Prioritize completing the seasonal story missions and activities first, as they often provide the most XP and gear upgrades. Additionally, consider focusing on one character at a time to maximize your leveling efficiency. Remember to check for any double XP events or bonuses that may be active, as these can significantly speed up your progress.
