TL;DR
Shuffle Time and Wand Cards
One effective method for leveling up quickly is to focus on acquiring wand cards during shuffle time. Shuffle time occurs after battles, particularly when you finish enemies off yourself or via an All-Out Attack (AoA) [1:1]. Wand cards provide experience boosts, making them a valuable tool for leveling up efficiently.
Clock Mechanic for Level Boosts
The clock mechanic in Tartarus is another way to rapidly increase levels. On certain floors, a doorway to a clock appears, allowing you to select up to two low-leveled characters to receive a substantial level boost the next time they battle [3:1]
[3:4]. This catch-up mechanic is particularly useful for leveling characters who aren't regularly in your party.
Defeating the Reaper
Defeating the Reaper is a challenging but highly rewarding strategy for gaining experience. Successfully defeating this formidable enemy can boost your team by over 20 levels [3:2]. While it's not an easy battle, having almighty damage and strategies to survive with 1 HP can make it more manageable
[3:3].
General Grinding Tips
Consistent grinding remains a staple strategy for leveling up. Engaging in battles with medium or large shadows can yield better experience points [1:4]. Additionally, adjusting game settings to increase experience gain can expedite the leveling process
[5:6].
Fight enemies quickly
Where are you at in the game?
Just finished floor 25
Just keep going back in at that point
Try to fight only the medium / big shadows
Just grind wand cards during shuffle time. A consistent way of getting shuffle time is:
•Finishing the enemies off yourself
•Finishing via AoA
Ok thanks
I got an end game persona and it used a social link I didnt even know existed and would be really keen to have a certain skill on it. Oh yeah and a lvl 100 Izanagi would be cool. How do people do it?
I think most with the high levels were at least on the second playthrough, you can change the exp you get in the difficulty to "more" and it's a big jump.
Other than that it is prob just grinding and going for level up cards in shuffle time
buddy you need to fuse demons a lot, you don't need a level 100 Izanagi. You can exchange moves from other personas.
Just try to put Growth 3 or at least Growth 2 in your Persona (with luck you could upgrade it to Growth 3 in Shuffle time). Then just grind , Magatsu Inaba is a good place because the Glorious Hands that spawn in groups there. Always try to have a Persona that could defeat those hands with mind charge and has some nice almighty attack or Yoshitsune with hassou tobi, the point is to do the most damage in the less time possible to prevent them to escape ....then keep grinding
Gonna second the recommendation of Magatsu Inaba, since grinding is really the only option, and it's a much better XP:time ratio than even the final dungeon, especially if you can get Growth 3 Skill Cards from Marie.
I just grinded for hours on end, over, and over, and over, and over, so on and so forth, etc.
I ask as I am very curious as I just got a notification saying that somebody somehow succeeded in getting Junpei to level 78 very fast, and right now I am just puzzled at how someone could find a way to pull it off so easily. (e.g. could be an exploit)
If you can defeat the Reaper you gain a lot of XP, it boosted my team up by over 20 levels (I did it at level 73 so you'd level up even more if you beat it at an earlier level). So that's one way.
Oh so just kill the Grim Reaper repeatedly, well I hear that he is no pushover
He's not the easiest battle ever no, if you have almighty damage and the theurgies available to use and some way that your character can survive with 1 HP once per battle, then some way to revive your party in one move, it's way easier, so definitely easier at higher levels but doable at lower levels still.
Beating it early would trivialize a lot of important fights in the game though, I do not recommend doing this until you're near the end for that reason.
They probably could have also used the clock mechanic.
I haven’t heard of that mechanic, but do tell me about it as I would like to know how exactly it works.
It’s meant as a catch up mechanic, since members not in your party don’t get exp. When you use twilight fragments, it will sometimes cause a clock to appear next to the stairs to the next floor. You can interact with it, and you’ll get to choose 2 party members. Next time those party members are in a fight, they’ll gain up to 13 levels. (Less if they are already within 13 levels of the main character, the clock can’t boost them past the MC)
On some floors of Tartarus, a doorway to a clock appears. Ypu can choose up to 2 characters who are low leveled to boost a whole bunch of levels the next time they battle, but I believe you have to do so in the same visit to Tartarus. That's pretty much it.
It's way easier and faster to level up your characters to Z rank if your account is already Z rank, you will reach it in a few hours, but doing it with your account being D or C rank it will take a longer time to level up your characters rank as well. It's the same thing for S rank and any rank. As long as the overall rank(and points) of your account is a lot higher than your characters ranks and points they will gain points faster.
I'm not sure but I think the greater the gap is between your characters rank and your account, the faster your characters will gain their points. (I'm not sure about that)
But I'm 100% sure that the more points your account have, the more points your characters will gain per wins to reach the exact same number of points you got on your account rank. I just don't know it it stays like that the whole process or if the amount of points you win get lower the more close you get from reaching your account points.
Do characters rank up separately from the account?
Yes, for exemple if the amount of points that you have on your character is higher than the amount of points your account have, your character will not gain any points at all, he will be stuck at +0 even if you win with him, it will stay like that until your account reached the same number of points you got with the character you're playing with.
The higher your account rank is, the higher the number of points your character will gain per wins to catch up with the same exact number of points you have on your account overall. Each character can't have more points than your account overall, that's how they made it.
Dont think that's true....
I am D1 and have 20+characters maxed rank and only play casual online single matches.
If you receive no points for low rank in characters then I would never get anyone past 3 stars.
That also means you’re fighting S & Z ranks so you still have to work for your wins
Damn I suspected this was the case but I had no idea it was that easy 😭

I went to rescue Rise and was quickly defeated by the first shadow, and I'm level 22 or 23 (at least the protagonist is, I don't remember the level of the rest of the team).
Because of this, I decided to train and level up before rescuing Rise. So how can I do this quickly and efficiently?
Also, now that I have 4 playable characters (besides the protagonist), which ones should I use in my team? I'm using Yosuke, Yukiko, and Kanji (the latter just because I wanted to try him out).
Find and hunt down golden hands. They are the fastest way to level up. The consumables that do guaranteed damage help in focusing down those guys. Just watch out for immunities. But even one or two hands will jumpstart your levels. And while you aren't there yet, once you do reach lv 35. You will be able you fuse the first Tower Persona which will learn megido and Almighty magic is very effective against those guys.
I play first timr rn. I finished Kanji(so before Rise?) dungeon at level 38...
I just 100% the floors. I think i only once dud additional Yukiko castle that's it.
I just buy best gear and kill the same shadows few times because sometimes i get lost and i never avoid a fight.
A bit of exp herr and there is important
I find the hands make for great xp farming
What Persona are you using? It might just be that its En stat is garbage.
I don't remember all the ones I have equipped, but I usually use Cu Sith or Jack Frost (especially the latter)
Jack's base level 16, Cu is even lower than that, and Shadow Kanji was 25. You should be fusing all the time to keep up with the game. The better resistances and higher starting stats will carry you much better than grinding.
go to settings, go to difficulty then to EXP and turn it to the max then go back to the game
The earlier dungeons will have new bosses at the end of them. Hunt those down, and you should get new personas to fuse as well as more levels
I’m 27 levels short of being able to get a certain persona and it’s taken super long to even get one level. Anyone know any more efficient ways than running around momentos?
Depends on where/when you are in the game. In general, the XP curve is pretty rigid. Once you start out-leveling stuff, the XP you gain is pretty small, so even on Safe or Merciless, the actual bell curve for levels tends to stay about the same. The only way around it is farming the Reaper during Flu Season (or farming it outside of Flu Season, but prepare for it to be really, really tedious).
That said, if you're level 51 or higher, you can always just get Strength maxed out and and pay a service charge for the high level Persona, if it's that important to you.
How do I pay for a higher level persona (sorry I’m new to this game)
Nothin' wrong with being new!
Anyway, first, you have to complete all the requests for the Strength Confidant. This takes no in-game time, so you can do it all in one go as long as you have the required level for the highest one, enough Yen to toy with the Compendium a bit, and maybe about an hour or so of real time to go through all the Cutscenes and Fuse the proper Personas. You can find a handy guide to completing the requests if you click here (although note it doesn't work perfectly if you have the Ariadne DLC...if you do, lemme know, I can give you an alternate recipe). And, of course, if you've already done some of their requests, you're no the right track!
Once you complete their final request, the Strength Confidant will hit rank 10 and you'll be given the Special Treatment bonus. From there, it's easy. Just go to Fuse the Persona you want, even if it's higher than your character level. When you select it, Igor will say "Great things are possible..." and ask you to pay a fee to summon a high-level Persona. The fee depends on your level relative to the level of the Persona (with a 27-level difference, expect to pay around 200k), but if you can afford it, you can Fuse the Persona right away, just like you'd Fuse any other.
First you need to max out the Strength confidant (Justine and Caroline). Then you'll be able to fuse Persona at levels higher than yours.
You can also max out the Sun confidant (Yoshida, the politician guy) to get Persona in Mementos and Palaces who are higher levels than you.
Why are trying to get a persona that's 27 levels above your current level? That seems a bit overkill.
Because I’m reaching the end of the game and I wanna get this persona before NG+
what level are you right now? Being 27 levels short that late in the game is odd
Go to Mementos when it's flu season, wait for the reaper to show up. When he does, he may spawn with the condition despair. If he doesn't try and run from the battle.
When you do get a Reaper with despair, just guard for three turns and he will succumb to the despair and you'll get a cat-bus load of XP.
Once he's dead, leave that floor and return to reset it and rinse and repeat.
in the next full moon i will fight the Hanged man but i'm so underleveld and i want to know if there is a quick way to level up (without mods or anything like that)
If you can reach the current limit in Tartarus you're more/less good for the next Full Moon boss.
Stay on top of your Persona fusions and you're more than fine.
If you're playing the modern version, you can turn on the setting for more exp. But otherwise, just go to the highest levels of Tartarus you can currently access, fight enemies there, and aim for the highest level exp cards in Shuffle Time. That's really all you can do.
Turn on the more EXP setting, go to Tartarus on unstable nights, then quicksave and reload until you get you get purple shadows.
There's no fast way to do it without monad just grind
Grind by yourself. You get 4X the experience. 3 won't let you fight the bosses by yourself because "it's too dangerous" but if you're high enough level, your builds / Personas are so much better than what your allies can bring to the table they're honestly liabilities anyway.
So i am level 34. I barely defeated Hermit at level 28. I am in the third block of the tartarus. How do i level up quickly? I am playing the original version. Please help i don't want to be grinding in this game for half my life.
Agreed that grinding is a bigger part of P3 than some people like, and that the Shuffle Time cards will help a bit. I typically liked to clear each floor in Tartarus before moving on (but before the Reaper comes to kill you) to get the most treasure and XP. To make grinding in Tartarus more fun, you can have Fuuka change the BGM and make sure you're properly geared (once your attitude towards money is closer to Mitsuru's) so battles are a bit easier with rush/melee. If your team is sufficiently geared and you know they can survive when splitting off individually, this also saves some time and boosts individual XP.
I just started playing Persona 3 Reload for the first time. it was my first Persona game like ever!!! lol. I’m playing the demo right now. I wanted to try it out to see if i like it or not. I really did like it! it was a huge upgrade experience for me. it was totally different from what i’m used to in the gaming world. I only play survival horror and story mode adventure. I’m not RPG person. the only RPG games i’ve played are pokemon, paper mario, mario and luigi, pokemon mystery dungeon, and kingdom hearts.
I’m definitely going to buy it once i hit the time limit in the demo. I know you can transfer the saved data from demo to full game.
Beside enjoying the game, it still left me confused on the gameplay.
I’m kinda confused on how to be strategic with Personas. How do you even level up outside of the dungeon. is there evolution in persona?? Do you really need many of personas in your team?? I’ve tried to research on it and i still don’t understand lol. Explain it to me like I’m five lol. I’ve read that it’s not like pokemon where you can be clinging to your team.
I’ve heard that social status does benefit your personas. I’ve tried to level up on courage, academic, and i can’t remember what’s the third one. I’m still stuck on the third one :((
Level up Shinji as much as possible. He’ll be your game changer in end game
🤭
PSA P3 Reload is on Game Pass, alongside a lot of similar games like Expedition 33.
This isn’t pokemon, in that you’re encouraged to gain new personas that are stronger, or fuse 2 or more in the velvet room to get stronger ones.
You absolutely need different personas because each carries different abilities that you’ll need to use to exploit the various shadows’ weaknesses. A well-rounded team is best.
Yes, you need to build up your stats, as the unlock later social links that affect your ability to fuse certain personas or make normal ones stronger.
Just wondering if anyone found a method to raise their characters' levels more easily?
I've done Fractal Rift until I got the weekly points to the max, and it allowed me to go from lvl 17 to 26 on Koichi, which was really awesome, but this process was quite long in the end.
Btw, for those who are scared of the lv. 40 enemies, it doesn't even feel like they're 10-5 level above you, lv.32 Yo can one-tap some of them with T2 ult~
After you reach lv 47 your only way to xp will be baclgammon or running through the city to open all chest or use data disk.
Shine has some good groups who are easy to stack.
Go to shrine, eat exp food, run around on top and left parts of the shrine to make large brawls, finish each brawl with spending only one use from food(cuz it counts as one fight) and get ton of exp.
Teleport back to respite unit, reset, repeat.
How to level up quickly in Persona 3: Reload
