You’re gonna have to get the discord or join up with friends.

Just put your friend code in the comments here and I’m sure someone will add you to play.

You can’t right now on pc outside of adding people and joining them directly

Try to relog in. It might take a couple tries but quick play will pop up.

Also switching planets sometimes fucks it up so don’t lol

Just use quick play and back out if it takes longer then 5 seconds. Just keep spamming it.

Having these exact same issues, and have had them since I bought the game. I've tried a lot of troubleshooting as well but the only thing that works for me is uninstalling and reinstalling the game. It seems like every time a patch is released, I have about 24 to play before encountering this bug again and I have to reinstall. Extremely frustrating when I try to load up the game and try to play with my friends only to find I am stuck on solo mode again - I've been scouring forums and this sub to find solutions but it seems only a few people are experiencing this. Guess we fucked up and bought the solo version

I just ran into this issue today and I'm currently trying to troubleshoot as well.

Toggling crossplay doesn't help.

Restarted my game, nothing.

Restarted my router, nothing.

I'll update if I find anything that helps.

Is your ISP shit? Are you playing in a different country? I run into these issues because of lag.

I also have this issue, an issue with hearing the other mics while in my own ship before it says couldn't establish connection, as well as an issue where it will pretend it doesn't see a mission from the planet view...

Sometimes it's a full party (I have joined a game where all 3 of us joined at the same time and I didn't notice because we were so well overlayed when we joined)

Ever select a mission on accident and warp to the planet and cancel the mission because whatever dumb reason? Wrong difficulty, I should go potty first, mission type, accidentally hit x? Then backed out...

That makes a game that folk try to get into, but can't.

There is also always the other person's internet to consider; if the host has bad internet and others are weighing it down, you may have a difficult time connecting to an already bad connection.

Maybe some griefer I blocked is in that game

I also wonder if I can see but not join private games sometimes...

My advice! just be patient and try different Helldivers' mission until you get into a game, there are thousands playing and max of 4 to a team.. oh and also, block any griefers.

Are you on PC or Playstation?

Either way I'd recommend first checking matchmaking options from the pause menu.

Go to Options, Gameplay, Matchmaking Privacy.

Have the options: Public / Friends only / invite only Play about with those on both your systems (make them match for both of you)

Also have either of you blocked each other via the game or steam in the past?

Hi mate , only solution so far is adding friends on psn or sharing that generating friend code and joining/inviting to party

In mission you should be able to throw an SOS beacon which should increase your matchmking priority dramatically.

I've been able to get the JIP working sometimes but It takes a few tries. I'm sure they'll have it sorted in a few days.

Imagine a live service game launch where you can’t join players. Well we have it.

This is disastrous. How have they fucked this primary core mechanic?

For me its saying 0 active players on a heavily populated planet and R is not working. Hopefully that gets ironed out today

“Unfortunately” there was a patch and therefore there has been some error with the servers, give it some time and you’ll be able to play today with others!

It's bugged ATM, servers are on fire

So, a few options when things are working properly.

1. Group up with friends and start a mission

2. Start a solo mission (make sure your matchmaking is set to public in your settings) and just wait in your ship for a couple minutes. Usually people will join you.

3. Click on any mission with a number out of 4 (2/4) under it. It will join that mission. It doesn’t always work because they fill up quickly.

4. Press “R” (or PS5 equivalent) to just quick play. It will automatically join a mission.

Options 3 and 4 are hit or miss, but my most frustrating experience is being kicked from groups right as I join, just because I need to go through the ship loading animation twice haha. (Seriously people, if you don’t want randos joining, change your settings)

It's annoying. I'm not some omega sweat for this game but I want to keep unlocking ship modules but you can't if you're not on the correct difficulty. Can't reach the correct difficulty until you beat the previous difficulty. Which is hard as hell when you're having to do it all by yourself. I have no issue finding a game or getting into quickplay. But I'm sick of helping people. I want some damn help so I can progress but I'll sit in orbit for 30 minutes without a single person joining.

Go in, drop an SOS, then leave. Go again and you should get allies.

I was having the same issue, then switched to trivial/easy bug missions. The bugs seem a lot easier.

Solo is really tough especially at the beginning. Something that's worked for me when quickplay isn't connecting - select a mission at the holo table so you jump to the planet and engage orbital thrusters into position, but then cancel out and try quickplay again. It usually starts to connect and fails a few times, but I've managed to get into a group that way. Or check the LFG thread and send out a bunch of friend requests to build a group.

Go to an active planet and then press X for quick play. We don't have access to all planets at a given time.

Try completing a mission first, worked for me

Select a planet, then you should be able to select quickplay.

You will find it when you open a sector... Are you able to launch the scanner for missions when you choose a planet?
