Understanding Game Mechanics
To unlock hidden passages in Persona 3: Reload, it's essential to understand the game's mechanics and progression system. Some players suggest focusing on completing puzzles and filling empty slots before attempting more challenging objectives [1]. This strategy helps build knowledge and upgrades necessary for exploring deeper areas.
Exploration and Progression
Exploring Tartarus thoroughly is crucial. Players have noted that characters do not get tired in Persona 3 Reload, which allows for extended exploration sessions [5:7]. Additionally, conserving SP and utilizing items like Mad Bull drinks can aid in prolonged dungeon runs
[5:1].
Elizabeth's Requests
Completing Elizabeth's requests is a key aspect of unlocking powerful Personas and potentially accessing hidden content [5:1]. These requests often involve specific tasks or challenges within Tartarus, encouraging thorough exploration and interaction with the game's systems.
Endgame Decisions
The game features critical decisions that impact the ending, particularly around December 31st [5:4]. While this may not directly relate to hidden passages, understanding these choices can affect overall game completion and access to certain content.
General Tips
Players recommend focusing on building strong party members and utilizing high damage output characters like Junpei, Aki, and Koro [5:2]. This approach ensures efficient combat, which is essential for progressing through Tartarus and uncovering all its secrets.
A common complaint with this game is RNG and how much it can screw with your runs, but I think there are some misconceptions on how the game works, and I would like to clear them up, as someone who won on Day 16.
I have a question of my own as well. Are many of the rooms time gated? There are some rooms I did not see at all until like day 7 or so, and then after that they started to show up in like every run.
The people who complain about rng are the people who have rolled credits and now need good rng because you do have specific objectives for every run because you're following a few specific threads, rng isn't an issue in the early game because no matter what rng gives you you're almost always seeing or learning something new. It only starts getting painfully tedious in the endgame.
Let me know if those tips make it any less frustrating when most of the stuff you need to do to progress is the boiler room or contraption stuff lol
This post was in response to people complaining about simply trying to reach the antechamber. In regard to postgame content, though...
I personally stopped playing after I reached room 46, since I generally don't find most games worth 100%ing, especially roguelikes which tend to tie optional objectives behind rng. This game has a trophy for winning on day 1, which the developer admitted to requiring ridiculous luck to do. That alone told me to stop bothering after I rolled credits. Again, though, this is a general issue with roguelikes, not just Blue Prince specifically. I am designing my own roguelike atm and I am trying to avoid the same issue.
I do give props to how this game handles permanent upgrades, though. Most roguelikes with permanent progression tie it to a bunch of grinding, but in this game you instead earn them through solving puzzles, which feels way more rewarding. There are also enough puzzles to where I made a major discovery on every single run I did, which I was impressed by. Sure I didn't solve maybe even half of them, but they all helped me in some way or another to reach room 46.
Can you please elaborate on 4? I rolled credits and didn't run into this hint
There's a thread for own guides and tips in the megathread

Thanks, I linked this post there.
Sure, but I think the complaints about RNG are after credits
It's my first time beating Persona 3, I tried to play FES 2 or 3 years ago but my PS3 gave up on me and now I finally beat Persona 3 for the very first time.
I'm not trying to say the game is hard but just want to celebrate perhaps one of the best stories I've ever experienced in gaming maybe even in fiction as a whole
This was such a joyride and I'll probably play it again soon to get some of the last Personas I missed due to being uninformed
Fes and P3P are harder than Reload.
I'm just saying.
I've played basically every SMT game so the challenge isn't an issue for me, the HDMI port on my PS3 died so had to play reload because I did not want to buy Portable or FES again when I already had them so decided to play Reload
Now play Episode Aigis/The Answer lol.
I'm too broke to afford that rn lol, I've got Clair Obscur to play next, I'll try to save up and play the DLC eventually
I agree, P3 is the strongest in the series in my opinion.
An emotional rollercoaster for sure.
OP, How long does it takes to beat DLC?
About 9 hours
Thanks, hopefully I can beat it before the game gets removed from gamepass. lol
Congratulations on this one!!👏🏻 And you got it sub 100 hrs, respect! (It took me almost 115 hrs with the DLC, which, I agree, was such a slog😅)
Thanks!! To be fair this is not my first rodeo with Persona 3. The PSP version is one of my favorite games of all time so I’m very familiar with the story and social links. I just used a 100% one play-through complete guide so i could enjoy the updated story and see all new cutscenes and everything else without having to do multiple playthroughs.
Going in knowing how to route your days and which personas you wanted to build ahead of time cuts that play time down significantly. But yeah i ended up just FFing through the overwhelming majority of Episode Agis because those dungeons are super padded and jsut navigating them is busy work. I shouldn’t have waited soooo long to do it before it leaves gamepass but i had to blow through it in two nights basically lol
congrats bro
Played this after completing p% Royal a couple of years ago. The game was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the music and story as well. Excited for P4R and will be playing Persona 4 Golden after taking a break and playing some smaller games. The only thing that was missing from this game was experience share. I used the same members for most of the game because the levels for the reserved members were very low and the great clock wasn't that easy to spawn. Still enjoyed my time with it and I was able to play with the reserved members in the DLC.
This was my introduction to the series and it got me to play and 100% the rest. I’m slowly chipping away at persona 3 portable I’m hopping to have it done before p4r but I keep getting distracted 😂
congrats man
Hell yeah just finished September in a 100% run and i have a 100% save for persona 5 ro finish up the misc stuff congrats i look forward to joining the clubs soon
Hello, I recently rescued Fuuka from the dark hour and received the SEES gear. This is my first playthrough ever of P3R & P3 as a whole (I’ve played P4G, P5R & P5S. I’ve also began P4U and upon realizing it was also a P3 sequel started playing this instead).
I was hoping to get some spoiler-free insights into: how far I am in the game I am (I’ve heard P3 is shorter than P4 or 5), if there is a big twist(s) akin to P4/P5 (this question also extends to P1 + 2), do character ever get tired like in the original (I always play all of Tartarus that’s available in one sitting and return for yen between full moons and nobody has gotten fatigued yet)and if there are any moments where I can accidentally miss the true ending.
I’d also love any tips or general advice about the game anyone wants to share
Thank youuu.
- P3 Could be a drag before October due to feeling more aimless than 4 or 5, and October is when the story to be really interesting.
- Magic is pretty ass in P3R and the game absolutely overcaps you in healing items, so a healer or a magic dealer isn't really needed. Calcs had shown Junpei, Aki, and Koro yields the highest damage output. Ignore this if you don't care about damage since the game is very easy.
- Level 65-75 is a good time to challange the reaper. However, beware that even though reaper is a challanging battle at first, beating it would make literally any other battle other than the superboss Elizabeth extremely easy. So, you make the choice. It is also very possible to beat the Reaper when you get a later party member's 2nd theurgy.
- Lastly, don't search up ANYTHING game related while being on the internet. People are terrible with p3/4 spoilers(surprisingly better with P5 spoilers) and it will negatively impact your playthrough.
I’ve actually enjoyed it the pre-October pacing so far! It is a pretty nice change of pace from P4/5. In those games (especially 5) I felt like I was getting hit with story beats so often in the beginning I felt a bit overwhelmed & slacked on a lot of S. Links/Confidants. Thank you for your input
Okay, I'll put it this way without a spoiler.
In december (December 31st) you will have a very important decision to make that WILL decide whether you get the good, true ending or the bad ending.
For Tartarus, yes your characters can also get tired but if you know how to conserve, you can complete half of a block in one day
For General advice/information: You are pretty early into the game, the story doesn't properly ramp up where you are currently.
They're playing reload, the characters can't get tired. There's no fatigue system in the game
Oh, i thought it meant characters running out of SP 😭
Theres 3endings?
I thought just the bad and the true ending?
I think they're saying the good/true ending is the same thing, it is just worded weird
There's 2 endings
The good, true ending (The ending is both good and true) or the bad ending
Here ya go:
You're about a quarter (so 25%) into the game. P3 is slightly longer than P4 but shorters than P5. Imo after rescuing Fuuka the game really starts to become fun.
Characters don't get tired. But SP is hard to get. So (next point)
Try to get as many Mad Bull drinks as you can from the dorm's 2nd floor every time the machine refills. They will come in quite handy and they are cheap.
If you do all of Elizabeth's requests you will unlock a very powerful Persona.
You don't need to do anything specific to get the true ending. Just an obvious dialogue choice near the end. So don't worry.
I recommend doing the Linked Episodes (not social links) with your male party members. They're only available for a short time (so do them as fast as you can) and they add a lot to their character. I really liked, Akihiko, Shinji and Ryoji.
Don't forget to do the Star social link. Otherwise you can't fuse Lucifer.
If a social link gets stuck in Tartarus and dies you cannot finish that link anymore. So rescue them.
P3R has an epilogue expansion called Episode Aigis. It's not mindblowing and pretty expensive for what you get. But you can play it of you really want more P3R after 100 hrs of the main game. Episode Aigis gives some small insights into the game's story and character backstories and has a pretty damn cool ending. It just takes 30 hrs of grinding to get there.
The Sun SL gives you Asura, not Lucifer.
Changed it. I meant Star. You need Star for Helel whom is needed for Lucifer.
I finally completed the game for the first time. But I had some questions. 1) I know there is a secret 3rd semester, but I somehow missed it. I read somewhere that I needed to get Maruki's rank to 8 before he leaves (clearly wrong). How do I unlock it? Does it involve Maruki? 2) I didn't get Kasumi or Akechi on my team either. Do I need to max out their ranks before finishing Sae's palace? 3) After finishing the game and saving, it said that some stuff carries over if I start a new game again. What gets carried over? Personas, inventory, social stats, etc.? Anything will help. I just wanna fully play the game the next time I start it.
Just putting this here in case it’s relevant. The most important thing, is that you’re playing Persona 5 Royal. Not just the original Persona 5. Other than that, yes, you need to get Kasumi to either 4 or 5 before a certain point, Akechi and Maruki also to a certain point by a deadline.
Money, persona compendium, weapons, armor, items, and social stats all carry over to NG+
Faith and Justice aren't technically needed, but unlock bonus scenes and content in 3rd semester. You'll max Confidants more easily in NG+, so might as well do them too. Their deadline is middle of November (except Kasumi who can still be progressed in December).
You need to get councilor to rank 9 before it leaves and it maxes on the day he leaves. This will trigger 3rd semester content after clearing 8th palace.
Faith and justice are not needed to unlock 3rd semester.
> I know there is a secret 3rd semester, but I somehow missed it. I read somewhere that I needed to get Maruki's rank to 8 before he leaves (clearly wrong). How do I unlock it? Does it involve Maruki?
Maruki needs to be rank 9 by 11/17. This is the ONLY requirement.
> I didn't get Kasumi or Akechi on my team either. Do I need to max out their ranks before finishing Sae's palace?
Yoshizawa joins and Akechi re-joins the team in the third semester. Their Confidants have nothing to do with it.
> After finishing the game and saving, it said that some stuff carries over if I start a new game again. What gets carried over? Personas, inventory, social stats, etc.?
Social stats, Compendium, and most items/equipment.
Got it, thanks. This is very helpful.
Im playing p3r for the first time and it’s my first persona game and I’m loving it so far. It started getting really stale for me with the never ending tutorials and on rails gameplay but now that I’m at around mid may the game has really opened up and omg it’s so fun.
The time management and little secrets to find and buffs to minmax. The social connections tying into the personas tying into the combat centered around this really cool setting and concept that further fuels the social connections. This is sweet.
Welcome to the Persona world!
Yeah p3 has the worst pacing at the start but the payoff is very great.
its a such a joyful experience. I had a smile on my face through the whole game 😊
Whos your favorite character?
Aigis
i got the quest to beat the reaper active but whenever i beat him and turn it in nothing happens
Defeat the Reaper and clear 256 floors then it unlocks I believe
It's a new game plus exlusive area. The door should be in the lobby inside Tartarus to the rigth of the stairs.
It's not ng+ exclusive, you just need to do a request from either Theo or Elizabeth.
Did you see a white door on the right side of the entrance to Tartarus?
No there is no door
Towards the end of Rebirth, the game notifies you that the incoming Shinra/Wutai War will cause most regions to close their borders and that you should take care of any side quests before heading to the Northern Continent. This I'm predicting will make it so you can't access the majority of places in the Grasslands, Junon, Corel, Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon or Nibelheim regions in R3make.
We will most likely still be going to Junon and Midgar to hit the main plot points from the original game (accessing the submarine, fights with Scarlet, Heidegger and Hojo, etc), but those will be accessed through cutscenes rather than just straight up traversing the entire world map and walking right in. The focus will be on expanding the Northern Continent, Wutai, Rocket Town and Mideel as they will be fresh as far as the Remake timeline goes.
What makes people think theyll scale back hard on something so crucial as the highwind gameplay? they already proved that they can expand on it and do it faithfully with the Plane/Boat sections - you have set docking locations sure and yah some areas will probably be locked during story moments, but youll Still be able to fly throughout the entirety of the map, i firmly believe this will happen - this game isnt built on the bethesda engine where everything needs loading screens.
Again theyve already proven that the systems are inplace to allow full Highwind control, and they said in dev interviews that what they cooked for the Highwind should make people happy so im holding out that people should be satisfied, Rebirth sets up alot for Part 3 to go all out, no reason to assume otherwise imo.
We literally got full >!ocean traversal!< at the end of Rebirth. There's no way they're scaling back.
It would be easy enough for them to include the whole world map in the game, but they'll probably need to find a reason to not let players enter every town again. Unless there are campaign stops there. Otherwise, I could see the install game being like, 50% for models/assets for areas that aren't even part of the plot.
On the other hand...I don't really care. Would love for a massive 200 GB game that gives me the whole FFVII world to run around in.
They got the areas, they're going to use them. It makes more sense that they expand them a bit around the edges like Spider-Man 2 as opposed to just not ever using them.
The borders closing is just a hint at the Highwind.
Is not like FF8 and 9 that they cut places in CD4, because space.
And they say something like"we are working on Highwind so you can control like OG"
The "border closing" is a hint to you finish sides too, and can be to you revisit older places to help people or even to limit you to go to all places in beginning. I belive will be to make you go to like Kalm town to help people there, and so in other places.
No way. Maybe at the very start to limit where you can go, but by the end of the game you will be able to go anywhere you want with the Highwind (and possibly with the golden chocobo).
Don't forget the fleet of fighter jets Junon had - I suspect a number of aerial battles to happen, particularly while leaving Junon initially after you steal the Highwind and probably enroute to Wutai.
I also think that the Moogles will be hidden in the clouds this time, with some sky surfing nonsense to access their moogle emporium, given that the devs have hinted at snowboarding and a "unique mechanic" for the Highwind. Cloud got his Moogle wings after all...
I think this is absolutely awful if it happens.
They’ve built the map. I want to access it all in part 3.
This would be incredibly incredibly incredibly disappointing.
Hell just imagining being able to see the Weapons far off in the distance just hanging out around the world map sounds like the coolest shit ever, let alone how we'll actually fight them.
We havent gotten anything like that in a game recently let alone a Final Fantasy game, so whatever happens i have no doubt will be amazing.
I tend to disagree given the fact we are getting the Highwind in part 3 and the story requires we return to multiple locations. I think itll work similarly to the boat in Rebirth where there are landing points. Maybe they cut down the areas weve been to before a little. Like I can see the Cosmo Canyon and Junon areas being cut down for example, even if Cosmo Canyon and Junon itself isnt. But it would be weird if we have Junon and Fort Condor but nothing in between for example. Or Kalm but no Choco farm.
I dunno, Im sure the game will be massive regardless. I trust the dev team to deliver a satisfying world to explore with the Highwind. I think they want us to return to alot of areas and visit characters weve already met to effectively show the difference in mood and vibe between Rebirth and part 3 now theres a meteor coming to destroy the world. Alot of people in Rebirth are upbeat, most of them will be sombre in part 3 given the events at play.
Obviously theres alot of new areas to visit still, but they spent along time building up to a fully visitable world. I think they know theres alot of backlash they will recieve if they dont delivery at least a majority of locations around the world in part3.
A lot will have to be cut down otherwise the game will be 300GB big
Isn’t that how you battle Ultimate Weapon?
when ever I try and open the preistess door it gives me the message:
"You have not fulfilled the conditions, so the door will not open..."
what conditions? how do I open it?
You need to A, beat the boss, B meet the criteria that is on the door, so if you want to do Hierophant/Lovers, you must have Yukari on the team. You can't have Ken/Shinji in the Fortune+Strength fight. That's what you seem to be struggling with, you can only have party members that were available for that fight. Meanwhile the stat doors can only be opened when the equipped Persona has 99 in the respective stat.
I tryed going in with no party and it still gave me the message? do I need a persona of the preistess arcana?
For priestess, you can only have Junpei and Yukari in your party, that's it. The personas you take in doesn't matter (except they do as the boss is scaled up in terms of health and damage so you need the stats to survive.)
Do you mean the monad passages? If so, did you complete all of the passages before the one you are in right now?
I talk to margaret, and she says to go to the preistess door, but when I try and open it it gives that message
This a portable question
