TL;DR Watch the movies in the order they fit into the series to avoid spoilers. "The Last" is canon and should be watched after episode 493 of "Naruto Shippuden".
Chronological Order with Episodes
To watch the Naruto movies without disrupting the storyline or encountering spoilers, it's best to follow a chronological order based on their release relative to the anime episodes:
For "Naruto Shippuden":
Canon vs. Filler
"The Last" is the only movie that is considered canon within the Naruto universe, making it essential viewing for fans following the main storyline [4:1],
[5:3]. The other movies are generally regarded as filler, but some, like "Road to Ninja", are noted for capturing the show's essence despite being non-canon
[5:1].
Recommended Viewing
While many movies are filler, several are recommended for their entertainment value or contribution to the Naruto experience:

For further guidance, the Naruto Series Guide provides comprehensive information on the watch order and additional context for each movie [1:2],

Road To Ninja is not meant to be watch for another 100 episodes or so.
Try to look up (on Wikipedia) when the movies were released, and then check when the episodes were released. That's the best way to avoid being spoiled by a movie
I'll check, thanks!
I just got into Naruto and I LOVE it and I just realized that there are also movies, I’m on Season 4 episode 20 and I was wondering when and in what order I should watch the movies. Should I finish the show series 1st then watch the movies in a certain order? Or should I stop in between seasons to watch a movie?
First Naruto, then Naruto: Shippuden , then Boruto if you want to continue (not recommended!)
Thank you!
It doesn’t matter too much when you watch the movies as long as you watch them in the correct era. Here’s an order that makes the most sense though:
Part 1:
Ninja clash in the land of snow (after ep101)
Legend of the stone of gele (after ep 160)
Guardians of the crescent moon kingdom (after ep 220)
Shippuden:
Naruto Shippuden the movie (after ep 32)
Bonds (after ep 71)
The will of fire (after ep 126)
The lost tower (after ep 143)
Blood prison (after ep 196)
Road to ninja (after ep 251)
Post-Naruto:
The last (after ep 493)
Thanks so much for your help!
I recently recommended my friend to also watch this, and I want to give her the right order to watch it (since i watched it a long time ago and whenever I rewatch it I just watch the anime). The parts that confuse me is that on the internet people put some movies way earlier before the storyline, for example, Road to Ninja ideally should be after episode 311, but people put it after around 240??? or something. Can you guys give me an accurate order of watching the movies and shorts?
P.S. English is not my native, please excuse any errors.
This site lists the movies and tells you after which episode they are set:

These most of these
Naruto - The Movie: Spring in the Land of Snow"
Naruto the blood prison
Naruto Road To Ninja
Naruto The Last
Naruto The Last. Why? Because it’s canon.
Yeah, I just watched it yesterday. Honestly, disappointed. The movie was delivered so poorly. NH development could’ve been written way better. Felt like I was watching a completely different Naruto lol
Naruto The Last is a canon movie, so you should watch it.
The movies that I enjoyed and think are worth the watch are
Naruto The Crescent Moon Kingdom
Naruto Shippuden The Movie
Naruto Shippuden Will of Fire
Naruto Shippuden Road To Ninja.
The others are good too except for Stone Gelel and Blood Prison. In my opinion they’re kind of bad.
I’m on episode 40 Naruto shippuden and haven’t watched any of the movies. I want to watch them so that nothing is spoiled.
Along with the last and boruto the movie, watch road to ninja. That one was really good too. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to watch that one in the high 300s range though so you should be good for a while.
All the movies are trash and filler except for The Last and Boruto, but they remade the Boruto movie in the anime so even that one is worth skipping. Watch The Last Movie after the final fight, someone else could probably name the exact episode you should watch it after.
The only canon movie is The Last, but that movie is a solid 6 if you ask me.
Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow is a fun movie, but is entirely filler.
Besides The Last (canon), don't miss Road to Ninja. It really conveys the feelings of the show despite being a filler, I personally enjoyed it.
I just learned that they actually fall in between episodes of Shippuden. Anyone knows the actual number and order so I can keep track of story?
/u/TakasuXAisaka did a great job giving their overall placement in the narrative, but I’ll make the obligatory comment that pretty much all the movies are non-canon and fully optional. The only canon or ‘required’ movie is The Last. The Boruto is semi-canon, but the Boruto anime adapted it and made a few changes.
From the faq
Naruto: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow can be watched after OG Naruto episode 101.
Legend of the Stone of Gelel and Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom can be watched any time after OG Naruto episode 142.
Naruto Shippuden: The Movie can be watched at any time during Naruto Shippuden. Any strange concepts are movie-only and will probably be explained throughout. Might be best to watch a few episodes of Shippuden first so you get a real reintroduction to the cast first.
Bonds is probably best watched after Shippuden episode 53, since a few characters in that movie are introduced in that anime arc.
The Will of Fire should be watched after Shippuden episode 120. There aren't any new characters in this movie, but there are important character developments in those episodes that play a role in the movie.
The Lost Tower I'd say either after Shippuden episode 175 or if you wanted, you could probably watch it after the third movie. At this point in the anime, it explicitly spells out a relationship between two important characters that is strongly implied in the movie. But I'm guessing that either you already know what it is, or you can figure it out pretty easily.
Blood Prison can be watched right after the fourth movie, but you definitely want to have watched through Shippuden episode 175. There's a couple of new characters and a new ability for one character that you'll probably want background on.
Road to Ninja, you'll definitely want to watch through Shippuden episode 249 before the movie. Things will be much more impactful that way. As a side note, Shippuden episode 311 is a tie-in to the movie. It's not crucial to watch, but you can if you want to. It's also a standalone episode, so you can skip ahead to that one without spoiling anything prior.
The Last happens after the end of the series. Watch this after Shippuden episode 479 (watch the credits as well) of Naruto Shippuden, which corresponds to chapter 699 in the manga.
I have just found time to start watching Naruto after heavy recommendations from everyone I know even remotely watching Anime. But there are just so many titles that I am confused. I want to know the right order to watch the series including all the movies, Shippuden and Boruto (which I understand is the latest installment of Naruto universe) TL:DR; want to know the correct order to watch everything in the Naruto universe to properly enjoy the show in all its glory.
EDIT: Found a decent chronological order in the wiki page of subreddit. General order seems to be Naruto->Shippuden->The Last (movie)->Boruto Also only the last movie is canon and others are not.
I'm not quite sure how this is complicated. But Naruto -> Shippuden -> Boruto. Movies whenever, they're not canon like 99% of shounen jump movies
The Last (Shippuden movie 7) is canon
Oh yeah. Well then I guess OP watches it before Boruto
Well the movies had me baffled. But I just learned that they aren't Canon, except for the last shippuden movie
Hi saiyan_prince1998, it seems like you might be looking for a show's watch order!
On our watch order wiki you can find suggested orders for a ton of shows (hopefully including the one you're looking for), as well as information that will help you decide on what to watch for the more complicated series <cough> Gundam <cough>.

Naruto > Naruto Shippuden til episode 479 > The Last: Naruto the movie > the rest of Naruto Shippuden > Boruto: Naruto the movie > Boruto series
Actually if you look for something called Naruto Kai (not conventionally found) its a fanmade combination of all of Naruto and Shippuden that excludes filler.
Wow! That is really interesting. Will check it out too. Thanks!
Naruto then Naruto Shippuden. Then the Naruto the last movie (its the only canon movie). Then Boruto.
Can anyone tell me the order to watch Naruto series and movies?
Check the subreddit FAQ
Naruto -> Naruto Shippuden (Make sure to skip most of the fillers).
A majority of the movies are not mandatory since they are non-canon but here’s when to watch them if you’re interested.
Naruto Movie 1: After the Search for >!Tsunade!< arc.
Naruto Movie 2 & 3: After the >!Sasuke!< Retrieval arc
Naruto Shippuden Movie 1: Same time as or after the Kazekage Rescue
Shippuden Movie 2: After Tench Bridge arc
Shippuden Movie 3: After >!Hidan & Kakuzu!< arc
Shippuden Movie 4: After >!Pain!< invasion arc
Shippuden Movie 5 & 6: After Kage Summit arc
Naruto The Last Movie: After Episode 479 but before episode 484 (canon btw)
Boruto the Movie: After the end of the series
Hi guys, I just started watching Naruto. I am on third season. I need help to watch Naruto and shipudien in chronological. Can someone please explain.
Thanks
Watch Naruto.... then Shippuden
Naruto
Shippuden
The Last movie
Boruto
Naruto, Naruto Shippuden
Naruto, Naruto shipudien, the last, then Boruto Just follow the ep order or find a filler guide. The movies have no real impact on the story except the last, but that's after shipudien.
I’ve just started to watch Naruto and I just noticed there is a special order one chick I should watch the series and movies. Which would be the right order because I really like the show and want to know everything.
Naruto, and naruto shippuden. Make sure to avoid filler episodes. There are many lists online to help you but don't look too far ahead as there could be spoilers in the titles
What are the filler episodes and would it be fine if i watch them anyways
Filler episodes don't follow the main plot and are irrelevant to the main story. It would be a waste of time to watch them since they're written by the anime studio and not the original series's author so they don't advance the plot at all and are never mentioned again so it's safe to skip them. However, mixed episodes (ones that include both manga canon and a little filler) should not be skipped.
Use this filler guide for Naruto and skip the red highlighted episodes and only watch the green.
After you finish Naruto, you can start watching Naruto Shippuden. Use this guide for Shippuden
Now, the only relevant and canon movie in the series is The Last: Naruto the Movie. Watch this movie after episode 493 of Naruto Shippuden.
After you finish Naruto Shippuden, you can start Boruto: Naruto Next Gen. Boruto Filler guide
As for the other movies, they are not relevant or canon to the story so you can watch them after you finish the series. Here's the order of the movies:
The dude below already answered in full detail but I would like to add, just dont watch boruto
And after I watch both of these can I watch the movies in any order
Probably. All of the movies, except for movies 7 and 8 in shippuden arent canon, so you should be fine. Make sure to watch shippuden movie 7 after ep 484(?). Shippuden movie 8 takes place after the series ends but there's no point in watching if you intend to watch boruto, as there's an arc that covers and expands that same movie
Here’s a watch guide for you.
