TL;DR A basic routine involves: cleanser, moisturizer, acne treatment, and sunscreen. Consider products with niacinamide, salicylic acid, or benzoyl peroxide for targeted acne treatment.
Basic Routine Components
For acne-prone skin, a simple skincare routine should include a cleanser, moisturizer, acne treatment, and sunscreen [5:1]. Cleansing twice daily is recommended to remove impurities and excess oil
[2:7]. Moisturizing is crucial even for oily skin, as it helps balance oil production
[1:1]
[2:4]. Sunscreen should be applied every morning to protect against sun damage, especially if using treatments that increase photosensitivity
[2:1].
Product Recommendations
Several commenters suggested specific products suitable for acne-prone skin. For cleansers, options include Paula's Choice Pore Normalizing Cleanser and Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser [4:1]. Moisturizers like Cerave PM and Purito Rebarrier Cream were recommended for their soothing properties
[3:3]. Sunscreens such as Rohto Skin Aqua gel provide protection without irritating the skin
[3:1].
Active Ingredients for Acne Treatment
Active ingredients like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and niacinamide are effective in treating acne [3:2]
[4:3]. Salicylic acid exfoliates inside pores to prevent breakouts, while benzoyl peroxide targets bacteria
[3:2]. Niacinamide helps regulate oil production and supports the skin barrier
[4:2].
Additional Tips
Maintaining clean pillowcases and avoiding touching your face can significantly reduce acne flare-ups [2:9]. Diet may also play a role; reducing dairy and greasy foods might help improve skin condition
[2:11]. For sensitive skin, opting for gentle formulations and pH-balanced products can prevent irritation and support skin health
[4:2].
Considerations Beyond the Discussions
While these recommendations provide a solid foundation, consulting with a dermatologist can offer personalized advice tailored to your specific skin needs [2:6]. They can suggest products based on your skin type and concerns, ensuring a safe and effective skincare routine.
I’m a 33-year-old female with oily skin, some whiteheads and occasional blackheads, and small ice pick scars. I took Accutane pills in the past. I have freckles and mild sun pigmentation (living in a very sunny place)
I undergo micro needling 1-3 times a year during the winter. I apply sunscreen daily and wash my face during every shower (2-3x per week). However, I don’t moisturize my face because it doesn’t feel dry. I’m considering applying Tretinoin daily at night. I plan to self-administer Botox for my forehead next year.
I’m seeking advice on whether this approach is sufficient? What else I can do? I want to deal with my skin once a day because I struggle with routines. What is the best and most effective thing I can do for my face? I don’t want to deal with buying and applying too many products.
I have ADHD and depression too so I feel you. Sorry this a bit long...
I’m adding moisturizer because even oily skin needs it - in fact oily skin can be very dry underneath the oil and the lack of moisture only makes the skin produce MORE oil, contributing to your acne. If you start using tretinoin it’s a MUST. It’s also ideal to cleanse off sunscreen and environmental impurities everyday at night, and if you struggle to cleanse your face when you aren’t in the shower, you might love micellar water. It’s a quick and no mess way to cleanse, simply put some on a cotton round or clean washcloth, gently rub it on your face and WA’LA. I love Simple micellar water.
Ideally, a routine would be twice a day like this:
AM: Moisturizer, Sunscreen
PM: Cleanser, Moisturizer
But if you can’t keep up with doing anything at night here is my once a day routine for you:
AM: Cleanser, Moisturizer, Sunscreen
A tip for treating the acne: Whiteheads and blackheads typically respond well to Salicylic Acid, though it can take a long time especially for whiteheads. You can add this into your routine easily by buying a moisturizer or cleanser containing it. In the past I have used Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment for my combination skin and it did not break me out and was very lightweight - good for my oily areas but not moisturizing enough for dry areas, so it should work for you. However, if you want to start using tretinoin that’s probably not the best idea because in combination they’ll dry out your skin. You could try a moisturizer with tretinoin in it instead. Idk anything about botox except its the same stuff as botulism and self administering it sounds scary to me but to each their own! Hopefully this is helpful.
Thanks a lot! I don’t have much acne, maybe just a few very small pimples that don’t bother me. Accutane resolved 95% of my issues.
So, my skincare routine would be as follows per your advice:
In the morning, I apply moisturizer and sunscreen. (Maybe I can find sunscreen with moisturizer in it)
In the evening, I cleanse my face, apply moisturizer, and then use Tretinoin cream
I keep doing at home micro-needling 2-3x each winter. 👍
sounds good to me! good luck in your skincare journey :)
Welcome to r/skincare_addiction! We'd like to take this time to remind you of a few things:
#Do not ask for a diagnosis/treatment advice for acne or other medical conditions, and do not play doctor
What constitutes medical advice?
This is asking someone to diagnose the issue, and is medical advice.
This is asking someone to advise treatment, and is medical advice.
This is asking if you should seek treatment, and ergo, medical advice.
If you would ask the question of your doctor, it falls under this rule and not allowed. As a general rule, asking for medical advice from internet strangers is never a good idea. If you have questions regarding your acne or other medical condition, you are advised to contact your healthcare provider. If you are a medical provider, we would gently remind you that users are not patients, and you should not be offering medical advice to people who are not your patients.

All the posts I find have like 14 different steps. My skin is oily, and pretty acne prone. I have tried everything and nothing ever works. What is a simple skin care routine?
Note: I live in Korea, I am 17, Male
EDIT: Thank you for all the responses!
Hey, I'm in the U.S but I have a pretty similar skintype. You can pare down a skincare regimen to 3 things generally: cleanser, moisturizer, suncreen. Since we're both acne prone, toss in an acne treatment between the cleanser and moisturizer. You generally want to look for oil-free options, gel based moisturizers, and salicylic acid in EITHER the treatment or the cleanser. Staying fragrance free might cut down on irritation as well. Don't neglect sunscreen. I can't make a lot of specific recommendations because I don't know what is available to you, but Purito's comfy water sunblock was pretty non clogging for me.
What type of cleanser should I use? My face moisturizes itself by the amount of oil it produces, so dry face has never been an issue. What cleanser do you recommend that won’t worsen my acne but will also help control my oil, but not completely destroy my barrier?
Oily skin is often a sign of dehydrated skin. That's when your skin tries to compensate by producing more oils and goes a little overboard.
It's sounds very counterintuitive, but moisturizing is probably the best solution for your oil problem!!
Also, when you start a routine your moisturizer and sunscreen can probably start with daily use. But once you start adding active ingredients (such as in acne treatment like acids) start by using 1 once every 3 days for 2 week, then every other day for 2 and only then using it daily
Give your skin some time to process and get used to it.
Also, active ingredients might break you out at first as your pores get unclogged. This is called purging.
Also, there is a whole subredddit dedicated to skincare routines, with a lot of guys as well! They can probably make product recommendations for wherever you live
I am assuming you use a cleanser and a moisturizer when you wake up and before you sleep right?
Yep. Usually I do sunscreen on the morning, treatment at night since a lot of anti-acne stuff sensitizes you to the sun. Also the above advice for not touching your face is good, and washing your pillowcases frequently can help.
Cold water only forever. Takes a bit of time for the skin to settle down and might not work for all skin types but I'm extremely happy with the results and there is no simpler or cheaper option. I even switched to shaving with only cold water and while it's harder it's very doable for me.
Btw. As mentioned keeping the pillow clean and not touching your face helps a lot. Diet can also have a big influence. I only had acne for a short time but still get pimples when I eat chocolate or garbage food. Milk products can also cause problems for some people.
I honestly was shocked what a difference it made on my acne when I stopped using soaps and cleansers on my face! I just use water and a very light moisturizer now (when necessary) and have very clear skin now.
— Adult female who used to have pretty bad adult acne. Tbh, I do still get a pimple or two during my cycle, but I will take that compared to what I used to deal with.
The best advice I can give you is go see a dermatologist. Most of them are not big fans of using a lot of products so they're probably going to recommend you 3-4 products and how to use them.
I am also Asian and I have found that a lot of white people advice for skin care doesn’t really work for me. Yes, change your pillowcases regularly and maybe change your diet to have less dairy and greasy foods, but also look into Asian facial soaps, in particular ones containing charcoal. I’ve virtually eliminated my acne this way, but just be careful not to wash your face with it too often because it can dry out your skin. Wash with this soap 1-2 times per day at most. This is the one that works for me. It was quite inexpensive considering that I bought this 3 pack three years ago and I still have some left. Since I changed my diet, I find that I only need to wash my face with this 3-5 times per week, usually only when my skin feels oily.
I hope this helps.
> maybe change your diet to have less dairy and greasy foods
Just wanna say this worked wonders for me. I'm half Asian btw if that matters. When I switched to a super healthy vegan diet my skin improved and pimples became rare.
Also I've noticed humidity really affects how prone I am to acne. When I lived in a very dry location I could go days without washing my face. But now I live in a humid location and I have to wash my face at least once a day.
Start with cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Once you find products that your skin likes and is not irritated by, add in a treatment step for your skin concern. Salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide would be a good option
Thank you!
Basic would be cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen.
I would recommend the la roche posay toleraine foaming cleanser, the Cerave PM moisturizer and the la roche posay toleraine UV spf30.
And then to address acne, I would add an exfoliant 2-3 times a week to your night time routine. The naturium bha exfoliant is $20 or so.
All products can be found at target and around $20 and under
Thank you!!

You already got some great advice in the comments! I would suggest an oil free, fragrance free sunscreen if possible. Learn from my mistake Lmfao 😭😭😂
Hahaha thanks!
Facial cleanser: Pipette baby wash and shampoo fragrance free or simple refreshing facial wash gel
Moisturizer: illiyoon ato soothing gel or purito rebarrier cream (has niacinamide) or soon Jung emulsion
SPF Rohto skin Aqua gel or milk or gold version.
And then once you're settled with those you can add in actives to target acne.
And/or benzoyl peroxide AcneFree oil-free 2.5% micronized benzoyl peroxide cleanser, Panoxyl 4 % creamy bp wash, or Cerave acne foaming cream cleanser 4 % bp.
Thank you
Hello, would someone please tell me the type of skincare that could help me? I really need some advice, my skin is very oily (especially around my nose), and I also have a lot of acne and dried pimples (on my forehead). My skin barrier feels cracked and damaged, and I even get whiteheads or milia near my eyelids and inside my nose 💔
What I want is a simple skincare routine that can help me heal my skin barrier, reduce my acne and oiliness, and also prevent whiteheads or clogged pores. If anyone has experience with similar skin, I’d love to hear what worked for you. Thanks so much in advance! 🙏
I’ve struggled with oily, breakout-prone skin too, and what really helped me was focusing on gentle, barrier-supporting skincare instead of stripping it. A few things to look for:
Consistency is key. Oily, acne-prone skin often reacts when you jump between products too quickly. A simple routine could be:
Over time this can help calm oiliness, reduce breakouts, and repair that cracked barrier feeling.
Good luck!
You might want to try a weak solution of salicylic acid + niacinamide + azelaic acid. Try to use a solution such as this with all ingredients from the same product line. The reason is that is your skin tends to be sensitive, it might react to the base ingredients. If you find a line that does not cause sensitivity and more breakouts, stick with it because as long as you are within the same product line, you can add different skin care products without fear of cross-reactivity. Doing this on a routine basis should get you back to your “normal” skin.
I have very similar skin and here's what works for me.
I use a gentle cleanser that removes makeup yet isn't harsh. I like Paula's Choice Pore Normalizing Cleanser, or you could try Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser (For combination to oily skin) if you want a drugstore option. After cleansing, apply a good BHA - this is a Beta Hydroxy Acid and is designed to exfoliate inside your pores (Paula's Choice liquid BHA is my holy grail skin care product). This will help with existing breakouts and help prevent future breakouts. Just apply with your hands and skip the cotton round (it absorbs too much product & you end up throwing it away.
Then go overtop of that with a light moisturizer, like CeraVe ultra light moisturizing gel or Trader Joe's moisturizing gel (if you're in the USA). You still want to moisturize, but not with anything heavy or thick that can clog your pores.
A couple of times a week, use a Benzoyl Peroxide gel (Clean & Clear Persa Gel is super cheap & very effective) after cleansing. Spread a pea-sized amount over your face, and then follow with moistuizer. This will disinfect the skin and is very effective for clearing breakouts. But be forewarned - it will bleach everything - your shirt, pillowcase, towels and anything else it comes in contact with. I know some people apply it for 10 minutes and then wash it off before applying moisturizer. I didn't have a problem as long as I used white sheets & washed my hands before I went to bed.
Good luck!
I have extremely sensitive, acne prone skin, and dark spots. I want a gentle but effective way to cleanse my face. I want my routine to look something like this-
•. cleanser • moisturizer • acne treatment •. sunscreen
if anybody could give me any suggestions, please do..
If you have combination skin, I would recommend this routine.
Roundlabs dokdo cleanser
Skin 1004 Madagascar centella poremizing light gel
The Ordinary Mandelic acid
Skin 1004 Hyalu sun fit sunscreen
You need a toner as well. I would suggest Eqqualberry swimming pool peeling toner.
The ordinary matcha clenser
anua 70% heartleaf toner
timless vitamin c for dark spots in the daytime
the ordinary niacinamide for acne cleanup
The ordinary oat cream
Do you know what your skin type is? Oily combo etc. it would greatly impact the products
morning:
night:
Oooo amazing suggestions, i have combination skin an eczema so it really depends on the day how my skin is.
Hmm you could try the isntree onion gel cream, purito panthenol cream, or krave beauty oat water cream for the morning. And then if u need something thicker at night i’d suggest isntree yam root cream, sioris deep in a barrier, or i’m from rice cream. People also really like aestura atobarrier cream, but I haven’t tried it.
Hey there! My current products aren’t working amazingly and I wanted to get into Korean skincare as I’ve seen how it helps people like crazy.
My current routine:
I wash my face every night, if I wash my hair I’ll also wash my face a second time (like if I wash it in the morning) and every morning I rinse my face and use Blume SPF sunscreen.
My skin concerns are blackheads on my nose and chin, sebaceous filaments on my chin, cystic/hormonal pimples that are around my chin/mouth. I also get random breakouts sometimes on my cheeks or under my eyebrows/cheekbones. My forehead has tiny bumps that don’t bother me too much but are still annoying. I also get breakouts in my hairline.
Generally, my acne isn’t that bad. It’s SIGNIFICANTLY better than it used to be because I started birth control, but it’s still unideal.
If anyone has any suggestions for where to start for acne-prone skin, let me know! I’m really nervous as I swear anytime I’ve tried a new product, I breakout immediately like crazy. And not in a purging way.
there are just so many products out there that can work well for you. I feel like the important part is to identify the ingredients that work well for acne. you'd want exfoliating, soothing, calming, sometimes pore minimizing, skin barrier, so on and so forth. so ingredients like BHA, salicylic acid, madecassocide, niacinamide, green tea, cica, retinal, ceramides, etc.
as long as you have done your research, you can then have a preference and take a pick at which products you'd like to incorporate. because ppl can just be throwing and naming thousands of products and you'll have no idea why. plan a skincare routine and know the differences between essence, ampoules and serums etc.
atm personally, for blackheads on nose and enlarged pores, it's usually an exfoliating treatment like a BHA (I use Geek and Gorgeous - Cheer Up), and once a wk or two, a sebum softener like the ilso super melting sebum softener, followed by a madecassocide toner like the Mediheal madecassocide blemish toner pads. everything else after that is not targeted for acne, but focuses on hydration, retinal (anti-aging and acne), or skin barrier.
Start slow with K-beauty so you don’t overwhelm your skin. I’d try Cosrx BHA Power Liquid for blackheads, Beauty of Joseon SPF (best sunscreen ever), and maybe Etude Soon Jung moisturizer for barrier support. Add one new thing at a time so you don’t break out.
Okok thank you, I’ll do one new thing at a time!! How long before adding in other products? I feel like a month is a good amount of time to let my skin adjust. I’ll look into these products, thank you again :)
You should be able to notice changes after about 6 weeks. This is how long I waited between adding products, as it allowed me to work out if a product worked with my skin. Rather than adding them too quickly and being not sure what is breaking you out/hurting your skin
I’ve been using Haruharu unscented black rice cleansing oil, the haruharu black rice hyaluronic toner and I’m From mugwort essence. I’m very acne prone and these didn’t break me out!
Centellian24 madeka cream is amazing for acne. And super good for skin, so i have seen people’s reviews. I just started using it and am so excited. It already feels amazing. A korean pharmacy has been making this product over 50 years.
I would say keep cetaphil cleanser and introduce Bonajour Propolis serum and Bonajour Green tea moisturizer . it helps to calm skin . once you re done with cetaphil cleanser replace it with Bakuchiol EX Advanced Face Cleanser.read this acne solutions might be helpful
My boyfriend has recently shown some interest in getting more involved with his skincare besides washing and moisturizing his face! While Im super excited for this we have opposite skin types so I can’t be much help! He has Acne prone combination skin. What are some good products for this?
I have the exact same skin type! A routine that works for me is (in order)
(PM only) Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella oil cleanser (I rub this on my face for about 10 minutes to really get into my pores and then emulsify)
(AM & PM) Roundlab dokdo cleanser
(AM & PM) Roundlab dokdo toner
These two exfoliants are optional if he doesn’t have any blackheads or texture but these cleared up my face !
Needly daily toner pads (PM 1x a week)
Cosrx blackhead power liquid (PM 1x a week same day as toner pads)
This serum is also optional but its very hydrating !
(AM & PM) Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella ampoule
(AM & PM) Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Poremizing light gel cream moisturizer
(AM only) Scinic super mild sun essence spf 50+ but if he doesn’t like that greasy feeling of sunscreen i’d replace that with the anua heartleaf silky moisture sun cream
remember to use a little at a time since i’m assuming he’s never used this amount of products everyday, hope these recommendations work for him as well as they work for me :)
Do you currently have a routine and what are your concerns/wishes for your skin?
The routine is below your comment and I do wish my skin was a little bit more pimple-free and a little less oilier.
Try adding a moisturiser! I used to think I had oily skin too, but my dehydrated skin was just compensating by producing more oil. Also look into AHA/BHAs or benzoyl peroxide, start off at a lower percentage and try short contact therapy if they are too irritating. Keep in mind these acne treatments make your skin more sensitive to UVA and UVB, so use sunscreen. Sun protection also helps reduce darkening of acne scars.
Edit: cosrx makes a mild chemical exfoliating toner (aha/BHA clarifying toner) and I recommend trying chemical sunscreens out as they arent as heavy
I do know it’s not much but it bothers me. Here’s my current routine
AM/PM: Avene Cleansing Foam (pH 5.5) SebaMed Clear Face Care Gel
I’m toooo scared to put anything else on my face because I suppose it’s going to break me out. The only thing that has ever helped me in a way is a alcohol toner but we know this is damaging everything on your skin and i’m nowhere thinking of using it anytime soon. I do consider myself as a healthy person - I don’t like fizzy drinks, I eat fast food almost never and we have a farm where we grow our food. I do sometimes get inadequate hours of sleep because of this sh*thole called school. Sometimes I even get 5 hours of peace but I now try to get at least 8 hours of sleep. Please help with some of your HG recommendations!
Ok, so you've got the basics of a routine. This is really good, actually. Would you say that these two products work for you? I mean, when you added them, did they improve your skin?
It is definitely better that a month ago when I used basically the most stripping cleanser because I thought that’s how you control oil. Thankfully, I’ve changed my mind :)
I would add a chemical exfoliant like bha or aha. Start with a couple times a week and see how your skin tolerates it.
I think you first need to address why you don’t have any eyes or a mouth!
Well, I want to stay completely anonymous :)
I have very oily acne prone skin. My goal is to keep acne at bay and minimize scarring. I’ve gotten a few compliments on my skin lately, and I’ve been using these products for a while now. I thought I’d share!
Morning Routine: La Roche Posay Hydrating Gentle Cleanser - gentle, non drying, but doesn’t leave me oily Paula’s Choice 10% Azelaic Acid - has helped tremendously with my acne, doesn’t dry me out Cera Ve Eye Repair Cream - I like a little extra moisture around my eyes Rohto Hada Labo Gokujyun UV White Gel UV 50+ - amazing daily sunscreen/moisturizer. I ADORE this! Doesn’t make me greasy, doesn’t burn the eyes, and no scent.
Night Routine: Kose Softymo speedy cleansing oil - amazing oil cleanser. I used to use DHC deep oil cleanser religiously, but this one is cheaper and gets the job done. La Roche Posay hydrating gentle cleanser - I use for the reasons stated above. If I did just work out, I’ll use the Cera ve renewing SA cleanser instead Night 1 - Adapalene 0.3% - I use a pea sized amount on my face. This is the main thing that has helped with my acne and scarring. It’s the prescription version on Differin and 3 times stronger. This can be extremely drying, I had to work my way up to using it 3-4 times a week. Night 2 - Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant - this is what has helped with scarring and texture the most for me. This really just gives your skin an amazing glow! Cera Ve moisturizing cream - no scent and highly moisturizing. Great at locking in my actives, but doesn’t break me out. The Ordinary rose hip seed oil - I mix 3 drops of this into my moisturizer. I’ve heard it helps with scarring, but I like to use it to lock in moisture too. Does not break me out.
Hey can YOU PLEASE help me out as I have the same skin type and looking to start a routine as my problems are starting to get serious GOTTA SAVE MYSELF
Morning Routine so far : Cerave foaming Cleanser - (Looking to replace it can you please suggest one) + The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% Zinc 1%
PM Routine : Epiduo 0,3% adapalene 2,5% bp
what should I Change/add to make it way better (I’ve got some blackheads and pimples on cheeks with a bit of acne scarring)
I’d suggest you to switch the order:
Night 1: exfoliation Night 2: adapalene
How often do you use the BHA? Were you always using it along with the adapalene? How long did it take you to get to 3-4 times a week? I feel I perpetually destroy my moisture barrier with tret and I'm not sure how long I should plan to get to a routine like this.
It took me a solid few years of building up the use of adapalene, then I introduced the BHA. I switch off every other night between the two. I’ve been using the two now for almost 2 years. But I did start off with the lower dose of adapalene, work my way up to prescription strength, then work in the BHA. It definitely took a few years.
I really like your routine. What I like most is that you don't use more than one active at a time whether it's in the morning or at night.
Heyyyy ! I do think I have oily skin as well and i'm trying to create a nice skin care routine for the first time. I am using the Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser for the moment but i'm not sure if it is the best for my skin since it dries my face a bit too much I think. So I was wondering if you ever tried the cerave one and if yes what were your thoughts about it ?
Also if you have tested other moisturizing cream for night ?
Hi! I’ve heard the Cera ve hydrating facial cleanser is somewhat similar to the la roche posay one I use, but I haven’t personally tried it myself. I’ve tried a few other moisturizers at night, but none of them were as occlusive as the Cera ve one I’ve been using. I honestly feel like the more I moisturize at night, the less oily my skin is during the day. I could be wrong on that, but that’s what I seem to notice.
okay thank your very much ! I might try la roche posay cleanser once my bottle is finished then :)
I have this sunscreen and was waiting to work it into my routine. Do you use a moisturizer under it or do you use it as your moisturizer in the morning?
I have dry skin so I use it over another moisturizer after it has time to sink in. If I am in a big rush, sometimes I will use it by itself.
Yes to the Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil!!! A great affordable option.
Hello! My face is oily acne-prone skin, and I only use anti-acne facial wash and sunscreen. I just want to ask what skincare routine you can recommend. Thank you.
same skin type as me! this isn’t korean skincare but I really recommend adapalene .1, it basically cleared my skin in 3 months. to control oil and sebum I recommend adding a cleansing oil, I use manyo but you should try multiple to see what works best for your skin. just added anua 10% niacinamide serum to help fade some hyperpigmentation, so far so good but have not tried it long term yet. best of luck!
Should oily skin type use cleansing oils?
you can use a cleansing oil but it doesn’t work for everyone, personally my skin is dry/sensitive and i can’t use cleansing oils since they clog my pores terribly and give me the worst breakouts
skincare routine for acne-prone skin
Key Considerations for a Skincare Routine for Acne-Prone Skin:
Gentle Cleansing: Use a mild, non-comedogenic cleanser that won't strip your skin of its natural oils. Look for ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to help combat acne.
Exfoliation: Incorporate a gentle exfoliant 1-2 times a week. Chemical exfoliants (like AHAs or BHAs) are often better for acne-prone skin than physical scrubs, as they can help unclog pores without irritation.
Moisturizing: Even oily skin needs hydration. Choose a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer that won’t clog pores. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid or glycerin.
Spot Treatment: Use targeted treatments with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid for active breakouts. Apply these directly to blemishes as needed.
Sunscreen: Daily sun protection is crucial. Opt for a non-comedogenic, oil-free sunscreen to protect your skin without causing breakouts.
Consistency: Stick to your routine for at least 4-6 weeks to see results. Avoid switching products too frequently, as this can irritate your skin.
