What Redditors are Saying

Harvey's Favorite Gifts in Stardew Valley

TL;DR Harvey loves coffee, pickled spring onions, wine, and other simple gifts like foraged items.

Loved Gifts

Harvey is known for his appreciation of coffee, which is a straightforward gift that players can easily provide [5:5]. Coffee is a staple item in Stardew Valley and can be made from coffee beans or purchased from the Saloon. Another loved gift is pickled spring onions, which can be found during Spring in Cindersap Forest and are an economical option [5:1].

Alternative Gift Options

Aside from coffee and pickled spring onions, Harvey also enjoys wine [5:9], which aligns with the common stereotype of healthcare workers enjoying wine as a way to unwind. Players can make wine using a keg and any fruit, making it a versatile option if they have a surplus of produce.

Using Foraged Items

For those who prefer not to spend money on gifts, foraging offers a viable alternative. Items such as leeks, horseradish, and other vegetables can be pickled and given to Harvey [5:6]. This approach allows players to utilize resources found in nature, making it both cost-effective and convenient.

Community Resources

The Stardew Valley Wiki is an invaluable resource for players looking to optimize their gift-giving strategy. It provides detailed information on each character's preferences and can help players track what gifts have been successful in the past [5:2]. Additionally, interacting with characters and checking their profiles in the game menu can reveal their favorite items, aiding in personalizing gift choices [5:3].

ORIGINAL POST

Elliot's favourite gift being pomegranates makes me absolutely feral. I planted a tree just so that I have a permanent supply. Like yes, my free sea-foam spirit, for you I will play Hades, black dirt beneath my fingernails, the work of my hands calling red jewels from the living earth. By your command will I bind you to this underworld of soil, wrapped around with sweetness and with shells, until no boat can stay our willing descent. And joy of joys, my Persephone, you embrace it all, you do not restrict yourself to six mere seeds - no, together we will gorge on fruit until the juice runs red between our teeth. And surely summer will never come again to the Valley, for we have trapped it here, between the curtain of your hair and my calloused reaper's hands and the husks that glitter like spilt blood and rubies and the sunset over the sea...anyway, does anyone else feel a completely normal way about favourite gifts?

Not a loved gift but giving Sam the Joja Cola I JUST got out of his garbage can is really good

My favorite loved gift is probably Rasmodius's Void Essence, since I always have a ton of it, or Maru and Demetrius' Strawberries since I have some planted on my greenhouse.

It's not poetic, but I use all my void essences for meganombs so the wizard is sadly un friended for me. Didn't realise father and daughter love strawberries, thats precious!

Sadly I am a dumbass who forgot to give him a birthday gift on winter so it'll take a while to max out the Wizard for me.

>Didn't realise father and daughter love strawberries, thats precious!

Interestingly enough, it's not the only case of that happening, as both Marnie and Jas love Pink Cakes! Sebastian also has Pumpkin Soup as one of his favorites because of Robin, so that's nice imo

I mean, the Wizard also loves Super Cucumber. Much easier to build a stock of those if you're any good at fishing.

I like when I get one from fishing in the bridge while he’s sitting there with Penny.

He literally saw me fish this can out of the river, and hand it right to him. And he’s happy about it.

Wow, now I don't feel so weird.

"Spring 24.

Dear Diary,

I am both terrified and exhilarated. I had come back from the mines a bit early and dropped off some interesting stones for the barren collection at the museum. Gunther says they're a step in the right direction to restoring the displays and thanked me heartily. On my way home, I passed by the graveyard. There was Abigail.

I thought she must be remembering a loved one, but she just liked the ambience at night. I noticed he eyeing one of the pieces of quartz I found. I figured she liked them so I offered her one. She said, 'Hey, how'd you know I was hungry? This looks delicious!'

And then she ate it. I was reminded of hyenas who jaws could crack bones to devour the marrow inside. Here she was destroying the bones of the earth and savoring each bit that she ripped apart. I could do nothing but watch. It was like the beauty of a predator taking down its meal, both poetic and horrific.

I think I'm in love."

This really helps me make sense of something she says after you marry her, something like, “If you find something tasty in the mines, be sure to bring me a piece!” And I was like 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you were a Stardew Valley character, what gifts would you want on your birthday?

Posted by kindaobsessedwbirds · in r/StardewValley · 1 year ago

In other words, what would your "loved" gifts be? I'm new to the sub so I'm not sure if this has been asked before but I was talking about it with my favorite co-play partner and I think it tells you a lot about someone as a person. Personally, my favorite gifts would be: duck feathers, pink cake, cherries, wine and quartz. :)

He really is so sweet, isn’t he‽ I liked being married to him a lot. Very nice person🙂

I did place a spoiler tag on your post, because as you can see in the spoiler policy, 8+ heart events and post-marriage dialogue need to be tagged. It’s just a nice thing to do for people who want to experience these moments fresh in their own game instead of seeing it here first.

Not a big deal, and you’re not in trouble! Just an fyi🙂

No worries! There are so many little details to think about when making a post—I almost always forget something!

(In fact, the mod team has a private subreddit just to make practice posts of whatever official post we need to make here! We have to try things out and make sure it looks right and that we’re not forgetting details. That way we look suuuper smooth and professional when the official post goes live here. I’m telling you our secrets, omg. But yeah, no worries. You did great🙂)

OP, Stardew wiki is going to be your best friend - if you want it to be! If you want to figure it out for yourself a little tip is you can go into their profiles in the menu and it’ll show up items you gave people that they love.

Otherwise don’t feel cheeky if you want to refer to the Wiki, it’s very common img

Shane sends me stolen Joja food in the mail constantly but Elliott only gives me morning coffees and a wine every NYE.

Joja has been closed for 2 years now and Shane has apparently stolen and hoarded the entire pizza section of their defunct frozen food aisle just to feed me every few weeks out of what I can only assume is a deep, deep hatred of Elliot and an underhanded attempt to break up my marriage.

Official Stardew Valley merchandise can be purchased through Fangamer, TheYetee, StardewValley.net, or Sanshee. Any links to other domains that claim to sell official merchandise are scam links. Be especially careful with any comments offering a link where you can buy clothing or a mug, these are currently the most common scam links. You can also always check the Stardew Valley Website for an up to date listing of merchandise.

Stardew Valley Harvey's favorite gifts

Harvey's Favorite Gifts in Stardew Valley:

  1. Wine: A great gift, especially if you have a keg to produce it.
  2. Coffee: Easy to make and a favorite of Harvey's.
  3. Truffle Oil: Requires a pig to find truffles, but it's a high-value gift.
  4. Pickles: You can make pickles from various vegetables, which he loves.
  5. Super Cucumber: A fish that can be caught in the ocean during summer and fall.
  6. Honey: If you have beehives, honey is a simple gift option.

Key Considerations:

  • Gift Giving: Harvey loves gifts on his birthday (Fall 14), where giving him a favorite gift will yield an 8-heart increase.
  • Cooking: Consider making dishes like Coffee or Pickles to maximize your gifting potential.
  • Fishing: If you're fishing for Super Cucumbers, remember they are more common during the evening.

Takeaway: Focus on producing Wine and Coffee as they are relatively easy to make and can be gifted frequently. This will help you build a strong relationship with Harvey and unlock his heart events.
