TL;DR
Lifepod 5 doesn't have fixed coordinates as it spawns randomly within the safe shallows area, outside of the Aurora's radiation zone [1:1].
Understanding Lifepod 5's Location
In Subnautica, Lifepod 5 is unique because its spawn location is not fixed. It appears in a random location within the safe shallows, which is outside the future Aurora radiation zone [1:1]. This means that players will find their Lifepod 5 in different locations each time they start a new game.
Using Coordinates and Navigation
While specific coordinates for Lifepod 5 are not available due to its random placement, players can use the in-game coordinate system to navigate. By pressing F1 on PC, players can see their current x, y, z position, which helps in navigating the game's world [1:1]. Console players might need to look up how to access this feature on their specific platform
[2:2].
General Tips for Locating Other Lifepods
For other lifepods, such as Lifepod 6, players often rely on relative directions from known locations like Lifepod 4 or the Aurora. It's suggested to explore around the general area indicated by your PDA or wait for further messages from other lifepods [5:1]
[5:2]. Additionally, toggling signals in the PDA can help keep track of discovered locations
[4:4].
Resources for Further Exploration
Players looking to explore all lifepod locations can refer to online guides and maps, such as those provided by websites like MapGenie [3:1], which offer visual aids and detailed coordinates for various points of interest in Subnautica. However, it's important to note that the radio in-game provides essential guidance as part of the core gameplay experience

I dropped beacons in a variety of locations in the deep then returned to lifepod 5 to take screenshots and stitch together this horrendous panorama to get an idea of where things are from a relatively consistent point of reference. I also dropped beacons at the floating island and quarantine enforcement platform so there would be some semblance of direction.
I have a horrible sense of direction and I really appreciate this. I’m definitely saving it for reference. Thanks!
Just so y'all know, lifepod 5 spawns in a random location in the safe shallows outside of the future aurora radiation zone. So these locations will not hold true for most people.
Although, what is your x,y,z position? You can see it by pressing f1.
-25, 6, -81
Can confirm because the thermal vent just south of safe shallows is due south about 300 m.
It says that it's 400m West-north West of lifepod 4 but idk where that is
I've seen some coordinates of it but idk how to see coordinates (I'm on console)
Thankyou!
It is north-east of the center of the map (the general area of your lifepod). If you don't have the compass, run parallel to the side of the Aurora from your lifepod. If you reach the mushroom forest, you've gone too far. There is a large square wreck not too far away to the north of Lifepod 6, which is a primary landmark to find it. If you haven't fixed the radiation yet, you will need the radiation suit, since both the lifepod and the large wreck are inside the radiation zone.
Alternately, you could locate Lifepod 4 (there is no beacon for this pod either). It is close to the side of the Aurora, near the part that's still intact and the part that exploded. It's floating on the surface, but hanging upside down. It is in a shallow part next to a steep cliff that goes into the mushroom forest. Once you find it, follow the directions from the Codes & Clues. If you don't have the compass, activate Lifepod 3's beacon - Lifepod 6 is almost directly between them. Obviously, you need a radiation suit if you haven't fixed the radiation.
For getting the coordinates, the Subnautica Wiki has the following:
To get the coordinates on XBox, you need to press the button that's above the D-Pad (I don't know what it's called) and the X button at the same time.
It doesn't list how to get it on PS4.
Wow thanks this helped so much!
I edited my comment, but I found how to find the coordinates on XBox, but no such luck on finding them for PS4.
There are 9 Lifepods you can find all over the map. In this guide, you will find all the Lifepod locations in Subnautica, along with their exact coordinates and the rewards.
Not to be negative but what's the purpose of this guide if the radio gives you the direct locations as part of the core gameplay?
There are a couple that don't have direct cords and you have to find off mapping
There are 3 that it doesn’t: 4, 6, 7
Maybe more specific than general area told by radio. There is one that fucks with me, the one with the bobble head. Made me watch it
Lifepod 5 being the only one out of order is hitting my OCD hard
Good on ya. Be aware there's also a map website that'll show this, save what the area looks like.
I got the Voice log for Lifepod 19 on the radio and went to the location. I saw that it was too deep and came back to get some more stuff and realized that I don't have the location marked now. How do I find it again?
I'm playing on PS4 so looking for the coordinates might not help.
should be able to reselect it in the beacons section of the PDA
Thank you! Didn’t know that tab existed
there will be lots of rubies and valuable materials with the only predators being biters and bleeders (only in the deep sparse reef
You can toggle signals on your PDA
If the symbol for pod 19 is visible try a few things turn it off and on, change it's color so it's more noticeable, spin slowly in circles till you see it sorry if this doesn't help it's what I do.
I have the indications relative to lifepod 4, but I don't know lifepod 4 position yet.
I have the compass, and I know that I can just look up on the internet where it is relative to lifepod 5 and go there, but that's not what I'm looking for. How does the game expect me to find it? Should I wait to get lifepod 4's coordinates? Should I explore randomly until I find it, and then backtrack to lifepod 4? Is there a piece of eqipment that might help me and I haven't discovered yet? (apart from the radiation suit)
Other people have posted this as well, but I'm wondering what's the "intended" way to solve this.
Edit: nevermind, I found it (pretty much randomly, but I scanned a few items in the meanwhile so it was worth it). I guess that's the way it's supposed to be found 😅
Ps. For anyone reading this in the future, bring a beacon and place it inside the pod... I had found it, then I went back to the base, and when I came back to search for pod 4 it took me another hour to find it again 🤦🏻♂️
You can wait until you get the message from lifepod 4.
Look it up in your PDA and READ it.
It tells you pretty much right where it is.
I found it without even really looking for it, just explore around the general area your PDA says it is and you should find it
Has anyone ever tracked every possible life pod 5 spawn points? And what are potentially the best and worst spawn points for life pod 5?
I haven't. But it'll ALWAYS be in the Safe Shallows unless you mod it to spawn elsewhere.
In my opinion, the best would be a spawn point right next to that really really good coral tube which is in fact possible - I got it on my first save. The worst is anywhere that faces the thrusters of the aurora. It's terrifying. By day 2, I got my habitat builder and made a habitat more north. It's one of those things where you feel safer the when you're facing the middle-left side of the aurora, except for when you're right next to it. Oh, and another terrible spot (because it happened before to me again), being in the safe shallows but starting in the edge of the spawn radius like 250 metres from the aurora.
Dont think it matters much. My spawn point was on the edge of the kelp forest near the red grass area. Closer to the back of the Aurora. The only annoying thing was the stalkers wandering next to my base.
Hi there i just wanted to ask a question.
Was lifepod 5(the lifepod you spawn in) always at the back left corner of the aurora?
I swear it was always at the left side
It can spawn nearly anywhere in the Safe Shallows. I’ve had it extremely close to the Aurora, and all the way over the other side!
It is random in the safe shallows like they say. One time, I spawned really far out just over 300m from the grand reef I was really surprised
It spawns in a random area in the Safe Shallows
It’s not a Totally random location. It has a handful of different set locations it can spawn in, and randomly picks one of those.
There are a few locations in the safe shallows where the lifepod can spawn
I don't want to use coordinates (because I can't access keyboard, only gamepad), I would like to use a distance method like "600m SE from lifepod 5" or reactivate lifepod signals.
I try to do it because I think I lost objects to collect.
any guide?
You can reactivate the signals from your pda in the third page in the beacon manager
Thanks a lot!
A class 3 supercharged best I could find.
Thanks u/Nit3H8wk I appreciate this find! It matches my current Red / black sentinel! Im trying to collect red and black ones and this one fits nicely! Mines on the left!
Planet coordinates?
Is it an X-wing where the reverse wings span in an x position?
There is an A class one here but only 2 supercharged.
In the deep Lilypads cave about 800-something meters from delta dock and 532 meters down, if you make a scanner room and make the scan range at least use three range upgrade you can scan for the shadow leviathan.
Just build a base in the crystal caves
Why would you need to do all of that when the big crawlies can easily find you from across the map? They're the third inevitability of life, along taxes and death
It would actually be better if you build the scanner room in the >!middle of the crystal caves itself. But then there is no point in scanning for the leviathan anyways because if you are in range it has a very short aggro timer so will attack you faster than you can dodge. So the only option is defense perimeter upgrade!<
