TL;DR
There are 10 discoverable lifepods in Subnautica: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 17, and 19 [2:1]. The radio signals provide locations for most of them, but some require exploration.
Radio Signals and Gameplay
The primary method for locating lifepods in Subnautica is through radio signals. These signals provide the coordinates or general directions to find the lifepods as part of the core gameplay [1:2]. However, not all lifepods have direct coordinates provided by the radio; lifepods 4, 6, and 7 need to be found through exploration
[1:5].
Lifepod 19 Specifics
For players struggling to relocate Lifepod 19 after initially finding it, toggling the beacon signals on the PDA can help re-mark its location [3:4]
[3:5]. Lifepod 19 is located in the Deep Sparse Reef, where players can find valuable materials like rubies
[3:2].
Exploration Tips
Some lifepods require exploration beyond just following radio signals. For instance, Lifepod 19 can be found by exploring the Great Sparse Reef and looking for specific environmental markers [4:1]. Players should be prepared to gather resources like blood oil and gel sacks during these explorations
[4:1]
[4:2].
Spawn Locations
While the player's initial lifepod spawns in the Safe Shallows, there are multiple potential spawn points within this area [5:1]. Mods available on PC can change the spawn locations or even allow players to drive the lifepod, although this is not standard gameplay
[5:2].
These insights should help players navigate the world of Subnautica and locate all the lifepods effectively.
There are 9 Lifepods you can find all over the map. In this guide, you will find all the Lifepod locations in Subnautica, along with their exact coordinates and the rewards.
Not to be negative but what's the purpose of this guide if the radio gives you the direct locations as part of the core gameplay?
There are a couple that don't have direct cords and you have to find off mapping
There are 3 that it doesn’t: 4, 6, 7
Maybe more specific than general area told by radio. There is one that fucks with me, the one with the bobble head. Made me watch it
Lifepod 5 being the only one out of order is hitting my OCD hard
Good on ya. Be aware there's also a map website that'll show this, save what the area looks like.
Honestly it’s amazing that so many lifepods actually landed where they did (within the game map) when you consider the speed of the Aurora during planet fall and the rotation of 4546-B.
Sure. But also the whole ship landed right in an area called the Crash Zone? Cmon now.
Did you notice the crash-zone is literally the top of a volcano? The sides of the whole map are a cliff that drops for thousands of meters. That’s a tiny pinpoint on a planet.
Bro what, it was called crash zone after the ship landed not the other way around
Oh that's a common misconception, the crash zone is actually named after Crash Bandicoot.
Lifepods 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 17 and 19 are findable in game.
Oh bummer, I got them all already. 7 was the hardest to find. Thanks for the intel!
No, they are not
I got the Voice log for Lifepod 19 on the radio and went to the location. I saw that it was too deep and came back to get some more stuff and realized that I don't have the location marked now. How do I find it again?
I'm playing on PS4 so looking for the coordinates might not help.
there will be lots of rubies and valuable materials with the only predators being biters and bleeders (only in the deep sparse reef
should be able to reselect it in the beacons section of the PDA
Thank you! Didn’t know that tab existed
You can toggle signals on your PDA
If the symbol for pod 19 is visible try a few things turn it off and on, change it's color so it's more noticeable, spin slowly in circles till you see it sorry if this doesn't help it's what I do.
Im getting bored of waiting for a radio signal so if someone could tell me where it is that would be nice
Edit: I'm on switch
Have you listened to the radio? When you get a transmission from it, the icon should appear for you until you go visit it. In the PDA menu you can manage which icons are on or off.
Alternatively, >!explore in the great sparse reef. There's a big hole, go into it and look around there. If you see big twisty white vines, you're going in the wrong direction, though I advise grabbing a blood oil from one of them for later. You can plant it in a exterior growbed. If you find gel sacks or deep mushrooms in the area, grab some of those too, but again you've gone too far.!<
YOU CAN PLANT BLOOD OILS?!
Yup. If you put them in alien containment they need two stories to fully grow. I also like to plant Kelp vine to provide natural lighting for my bases at night (not that you should use their seeds and not their cuttings because the cuttings don't produce seeds but the seeds when planted will)
Like blood oil they need two stories to fully grow as well.
Yep! They contain seeds
Thank you
Google it.
Tried but it gave me coordinate I should have added that I'm on switch
In a few guide videos it seems like their lifepod is by the back end of the Aurora although mine is at basically the middle of the Aurora
Only in safe shallows, but there are mods on pc that can allow you to even drive it as well as change spawns (safe shallows is SAFE shallows for a reason) Not sure why anyone would wanna do that though.
because it's illogical that your life pod just happens to be the only one that worked properly AND landed in a safe area.
It would probably be a more entertaining game how it is now instead playing as some dude who dies on the landing
Well yes,but actually no. If I'm correct there is 7 different locations the lifepod can spawn but all of them are in safe shallows.
What's up with all the non subnautica posts recently?
I haven't been looking, but if they're all No Man's Sky related, it's been cause of the recent update that added water worlds to the game that bear a passing resemblance to Subnautica. I'd imagine there's probably some cross-pollination of gamers that play both, and they've found the similarities amusing. I meant to start a new save when this updated was released as well, but I haven't had time lately.
I play both!! :)
Thats the most subnautica coded nms world ive ever seen
There were water world's already albeit a bit shallow (maybe 100m deep). With the new update they promised (several) Kilometer deep water worlds with more and bigger creatures. I haven't played much and didn't find one yet but I'm a bit excited
It’s natural
What is this?
Subnautica looks different to how I remember it, the prawn suit too now that I think about it
I've been waiting for a post like this to creep on over 🤣 🤣
Just realized at the start of the video I leaked my Xbox username. Eh who cares
does the lifepod spawn differently everytime? across 2 hardcore saves, i've looked around and been in a different spot. as far as i'm aware the map is the same (i.e. aurora, caves, biomes) but i could be wrong.
Yeah the map is always the same but the lifepod can spawn in a random place within a set area.
thanks man, was really confused since 2 saves in a row i got the same spawn. is it like set spawns, but randomised, or just anywhere?
It actually generates a random coordinates across the entire map and then check whether it is in the safe shallows biome, if not then it generates another until it is. If after 1000 tries it doesn’t it just plonk you down at 0,0,0. So, maybe that is what happened twice to you.
Yeah just the same
Hi there i just wanted to ask a question.
Was lifepod 5(the lifepod you spawn in) always at the back left corner of the aurora?
I swear it was always at the left side
It can spawn nearly anywhere in the Safe Shallows. I’ve had it extremely close to the Aurora, and all the way over the other side!
It spawns in a random area in the Safe Shallows
It is random in the safe shallows like they say. One time, I spawned really far out just over 300m from the grand reef I was really surprised
It’s not a Totally random location. It has a handful of different set locations it can spawn in, and randomly picks one of those.
There are a few locations in the safe shallows where the lifepod can spawn
Has anyone ever tracked every possible life pod 5 spawn points? And what are potentially the best and worst spawn points for life pod 5?
Dont think it matters much. My spawn point was on the edge of the kelp forest near the red grass area. Closer to the back of the Aurora. The only annoying thing was the stalkers wandering next to my base.
In my opinion, the best would be a spawn point right next to that really really good coral tube which is in fact possible - I got it on my first save. The worst is anywhere that faces the thrusters of the aurora. It's terrifying. By day 2, I got my habitat builder and made a habitat more north. It's one of those things where you feel safer the when you're facing the middle-left side of the aurora, except for when you're right next to it. Oh, and another terrible spot (because it happened before to me again), being in the safe shallows but starting in the edge of the spawn radius like 250 metres from the aurora.
I haven't. But it'll ALWAYS be in the Safe Shallows unless you mod it to spawn elsewhere.
Where is lifepod 7 according to the floater island
Life pod 7 is in the Crag fields the coordinates are -55 -179 -1039 I suggest to watch a YouTube video to pin point the exact location
Crag fields >_> No nonono i'm outta here i sit in the safe shallows And the active lava zone that's all
Just put a drill arm on your prawn suit, that’ll chase off any bonesharks who want to step.
Yo is there reapers
Nah only bone sharks and they can be deterred with perimeter defense
Thx
