Marvel's Wolverine
One of the most anticipated upcoming Marvel games is "Marvel's Wolverine," developed by Insomniac Games, known for their work on the Spider-Man series. A new trailer was reportedly completed and might be shown during a future State of Play or The Game Awards [3]. The game is expected to feature a combat system similar to that of God of War, with a focus on melee moves and combos
[3:2]. Insomniac has a reputation for fast production, so fans are hopeful for a high-quality release
[3:7].
Cosmic Invasion
"Cosmic Invasion" is another Marvel game in development, with gameplay recently showcased at a Nintendo Direct event. It is described as an arcade-style beat 'em up, similar to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge" [5:8]. The game is expected to release this summer
[5:2].
Blade and Iron Man
Arkane Studios is working on a "Blade" game, although it is still in the early stages of development, with a potential release date around 2028 to 2030 [5:1]. Meanwhile, an "Iron Man" game was announced by EA, being developed by the team behind the Dead Space remake
[5:8].
Marvel 1943 and Other Projects
"Marvel 1943" recently had an in-engine trailer released, indicating progress in its development [5:2]. There are also rumors of other projects from Insomniac, including a Venom game, Spider-Man 3, and an X-Men game
[5:3]. However, some projects like the Venom game may have been scrapped
[5:11].
Mobile and Unannounced Titles
"Mystic Mayhem," a mobile game, is also in the works [5:6]. Additionally, while not officially announced, a Spider-Man 3 game is expected due to the success and cliffhanger ending of Spider-Man 2
[5:10].
These upcoming titles reflect a diverse range of genres and characters, promising exciting experiences for Marvel fans across various platforms.
Hello,
A friend of mine, who is not really into video games, has played and finished Hogwart Legacy. She really loved it as she is a fan of Harry Potter. It was his first video game ever and now she is afraid to miss the feeling of playing video games.
So I'm looking for idea of other games (PS4/5) to suggest to her so she can keep on playing and discover more !
Depends what they like.
If you want a game for the gameplay and without much story, Spyro is always something I'd recommend.
If you want something more story-focused and involved, something like Oblivion or The Witcher 3.
I’d say Witcher 3, for the depth and world building would probably be the best match.
Well she can always put the game on easy but mass effect legendary edition is three games and u upload your save from the end of one to the next so ur choices carry over. The world building and story is next level in it. Also maybe play Diablo 4 with her if you want split screen it’s rather simple.
What did she like about Hogwart's Legacy?
She liked the story line and open world in the Harry Potter universe
Was it also a factor that she could create and outfit her own (female) character or is that of no importance to her? Because she's wouldn't have that in games like The Witcher 3 etc. What kind of stories does she like, which kind does not interest her (e.g. fantasy, sci-fi, dark or more light in tone etc.). Is she fan of other books, movies, TV series that might have been adapted in the gaming world and would ease her into it due to the familiarity? All relevant points to consider ...
If she's a fan of stories, disco elysium is incredibly easy to play and easier to recommend to everyone
Unpacking. My sister, who has never touched a game in her life, loved it. It is just a very relaxing organizing game that has a hidden story.
Storyteller, it is a puzzle game but very different from the usual style. Check it out. Its a ton of fun for such a simple mechanic. It is not on ps5 but you can get it on the phone through the netflix games tab. Idk if that's doable for her.
This one is a bit weirder but Needy Streamer Overload. It does have some maybe triggering stuff like self-harm, but I thought it was well done. It reallyyy depends on the person if they will like it.
Hulk should be a given and it's crazy he has not been revealed, if he ever will be at all since She-Hulk is in, but Gambit and Daredevil in a beat em up? Please god let this happen
My hopes for the last 2 reveals Gambit & Cyclops blade & doctor strange Moon knight & daredevil Jessica Jones & Luke Cage Namor & iron man Squirrel Girl & Deadpool Iron fist & misty knight
Why these because I feel like it's realistic and I'm trying to pick characters that don't get a lot of attention but also big names.
Yea im hoping for a luke cage too
I really hope gambit is in this game
Man we need more big body characters for sure. All we have is Venom and Deadpool would be absolutely sick
Gambit hasn’t gotten a good chance in anything since MvC 2 and it sucks. He’s my favorite XMen!
MUA3
"Kinetic Card!"
"Royal FLUSH!"
Don’t forget “Cajun Slash” ;)
I’m really hoping for Gambit, too.
According to Insider Gaming, a new trailer for Wolverine has been finished for a potential debut at State of Play. Sony already had a State of Play this week for 007: First Light, and it hasn't yet announced plans for another one this month. Insider Gaming acknowledged the possibility that Wolverine's trailer could be pushed back to The Game Awards in December if the next State of Play isn't scheduled for this month.
Insomniac has already confirmed that Wolverine take place in the same universe as the three Spider-Man on PS4 and PS5. Unofficially, some potential spoilers for Wolverine were released after the Insomniac hack in 2023. Later reports suggested that Insomniac made changes to the game after the hack, but it's unclear how significant they were. Previous reports have also stated that Wolverine may be M-rated to better serve the character's violent nature.
I am wondering how they're gonna execute Wolverine's lunge attack.
I wanna hope this game's combat is nearly as good as the Wolverine Origins game, but I just have a hunch Insominac is gonna staple in their(admittedly enjoyable) Arkham-esq gameplay here and call it a day.
IIRC the leaked gameplay footage seemed like a new God of War-style grounded combat system with a variety of melee moves and combos, albeit one obviously built off the Spider-Man combat system. That being said, the parkour system was still blatantly using the Spider-Man animations at the time (except for the wall-climbing, which seemed heavy and weighty due to Wolverine stabbing his claws into the walls and heaving himself along compared to Spidey sticking, flipping, leaping, and crawling about the place), so it was still very much a work in progress.
But yeah, the camera was tighter, the melee combat was more expansive, and there was little in the way of aerial combos, so it definitely seemed like it was on the right track.
If it's half as good as Wolverine Origins, I'm happy.
That game had NO right being that good.
As long as its appropriatly viseral enough, i think that kind of combat system COULD work for wolverine.
We're see that with a lot of AAA games announced. The time from Mass Effect 5's trailer to now is almost as large of a gap as between ME1 and ME3.
I remember when Elder Scrolls games were the ones considered to have larger than average gaps between games, and that was 4-5 years between Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim.
Mass Effect 5 was announced so long ago that I forgot Mass Effect 5 was announced
Are we finally gonna get to see some of that "Hard-R gameplay" they promised?
Depends on if Kitty Pryde is in the game.
I kinda get this mentality usually but uhhh.... this is the fourth Insomniac game this gen. This is pretty fast?
Yeah there's some studios that might release 1 game this generation, if that. Insomniac has had a great release schedule compared to other studios.
And the game's probably not even going to be out until mid 2027 or something.
I wish them all the best, although I can only imagine the technical challenges of ‘modern AAA flagship title that demonstrates a guy who can cut through just about anything for as long as he wants to keep cutting’
>As for what else the next State of Play event could feature remains to be seen, but it’s likely to feature Bungie’s upcoming ‘Marathon‘, a new Metroidvania God of War (Insider Gaming has it on good authority a mainline title is also in the works), Phantom Blade 0, and possibly even Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

The SoP is reportedly scheduled for the end of the month.
i'm mainlining hopium for this to be true
Can you send me a doee
I dream about this moment every day....
I go back and watch the trailer every so often. Realize it's not out, nor is any info, and stare into the void lol.
Haha. Same man. It's good to know there's others out there.
It's gonna be amazing when it comes...despite what the nutters have to rage aboit
I always feel happy when someone posts a new theory or discussion about the gameplay, because I can’t wait for more news hahaha, I just want them to drop it as soon as possible 😭
seems like hes just guessing here
For intergalactic yes he’s guessing
they're just theorizing. means nothing
Just seeing him mention the possibility, whether he’s just guessing or actually has info, is good news. It’s weird that he doesn’t mention Saros, since it’s the closest to release, but I’m just glad insiders are starting to think the second trailer/gameplay could be shown soon.
I haven't seen anything about Cosmic Invasion or Iron Man, where did you see those?
Cosmic Invasion had a gameplay trailer at the Nintendo Direct and is releasing this summer iirc.
Wolverine technically had gameplay leaked in that nasty Insomniac data leak so an early build got leaked.
Marvel 1943 just had an in-engine trailer.
Blade and Iron Man were simply just announced.
Iron Man was announced by EA years ago, it's being made by the team that did the Dead Space remake. Cosmic Invasion was announced at a recent Nintendo Direct, it's an arcade style beat em up from the team that did Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge.
And while technically not announced, we know there will be a Spider-Man 3. Given that Spider-Man 2 ended on a cliffhanger and sold very well.
Not announced, but the Insomniac leaks show a roadmap for a Venom, Spider-Man 3 and X-Men game on the horizon from them.
After they scrapped the Spider-Man 2 DLC and the GAAS Spider-Verse multiplayer game, I could see them doing a second Miles game as a stopgap between things too.
Hope the venom game gets a full game treatment and not just a miles Morales spinoff treatment. Hope it's violent as fuck too, lethal protector.
Venom game seems to have been scrapped alongside the Spider-Man 2 DLC. Their next project is just Wolverine, then Spider-Man 3, and onto X-Men.
Insomniac stated that after Wolverine, their project afterwards will not have to do with any comic characters, mostly hinting towards a new Ratchet & Clank game
I mean, until about a week ago, the Black Panther game would’ve been on that list…
Not sure if we'd count it since it's a mobile game, but Mystic Mayhem is on its way too
Wolverine. It's been all but confirmed due to those hackers
Seeing some weird misinformation in the comments. I always forget not everyone pays attention to video games like that.
Current Status for all:
Blade - Being worked on by Arkane Studios, they literally just started work on it when you saw that trailer in December 2023. At the earliest expect that game 2028, possibly 2030.
Marvel's Wolverine - From Insomniac, the folks responsible for the recent Spider-Man games. I imagine when they got hacked that made them not want to show anything until they were positive it looked great. Insomniac works fast, so I'm imagining 2026 release date, wouldn't be surprised if we saw a trailer next week or before the year was out.
Marvel's Iron Man: First announced in the second half of 2022, this comes from Motive Studios, the folks who did the Dead Space remake. Team's lead designer worked on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. EA seems to still want to work on this and its far enough into development that we might get it, but EA also just canceled Black Panther. EA tends to (no company is ever 100% anything but this is the pattern) wait a long while to show off gameplay, though. Dragon Age: Veilguard got its first gameplay reveal last June and came out that October. They might wait until the game is less than a year from release before we see it. So potentially 2026 reveal, 2027 release?
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra: From Skydance New Media, a new studio. This project is being worked on by Amy Hennig, who used to work on Uncharted. It was shown off at GDC of all places. Anyway, this was supposed to come out this year but got delayed to 2026.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion: From Tribute Games, who previously worked on TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. This game got a trailer in March and is supposed to release sometime near the end of the year.
I'm most interested in the Blade game. IIRC it's gonna be made by Arkane and an immersive sim in the Marvel universe would go so hard. I hope the Blade title, and the Wolverine game are super violent and graphic. Logan fighting those Hand Ninja would be so lit and I hope Daredevil cameos in that one. To me, 1943 looks to be intended more of a portfolio piece game.
I really don’t understand what 1943 is supposed to be
Blade. I am a fan of the supernatural corner of the Marvel universe, and I want to see that corner get more love.
I cancel all of them for a Midnight Suns 2 or a Marvel vs. Capcom 4.
I'm sure Blade and Wolverine will be serviceable just based on the studios alone. 1943 should have pretty solid writing since Amy Henning is attached but we still haven't seen any gameplay so I don't care until we do. Same boat for Iron Man but I have less immediate faith in Jade Raymond as I do Amy Henning, so it has less cache from me - I hope they're all good though.
MIDNIGHT SUNS 2 RAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I WANT IT SO BAD
Midnight Suns was really underrated in the end. Seemed like it totally disappeared from all discourse after launch.
It's so good though
They dropped it in mid December, when most game industry media are on break. A game like this should have been targeting the mainstream audiences but between the card mechanics and visuals it made it a tough sell when it didn't need to be.
1943 looks interesting and wolverine
Iron Man. After Spider-Man he's my favorite character, and this game is being made by the team behind the excellent Dead Space remake. I have a lot of hopes for this, plus it sounds like they also want this to be a trilogy.
Also this image is missing Cosmic Invasion and Black Panther.
it could have been something in the contract with marvel or disney. So far that's the only game they've announced that early.
they didn't show gameplay for SM2 until 5 months before release. I think the earliest we see this is next summer
To be fair we already have game play of Wolverine just not by their choice. I personally would love to see game studios show us how the sausage is made.
late to this but i loved this about the first god of war game, showing the testing process, and iirc letting you play on the test maps
Shit, straight-up didn’t announce Miles Morales until 5 months out. Different circumstances, but still.
Kinda why I think the Venom game is still possible.
I just hope the game is brutal. I hope they don't censor wolverine too much. I want to slice all body parts
I really hope they use the regen health system from Wolverine: Origins with having his physical body get damaged and then grow back.
The Deadpool game also had that.
Looking at the leaks…
#They will.
You can sense the frustration in that tweet. Over a year now of people looking at their leaks coming up with their own assumptions narratives of things happening at the studio, from Spider-Man 2 DLC to what the creative direction was for Wolverine at least at the time. And then the entitled comments throwing anger at Insomniac for not sharing news after looking at things that were never meant to be made public.
Honestly the leaks made me a lot less excited for the game. It just kinda looked like a reskinned spiderman? And after 3 Spiderman games where each entry just consisted of slight improvements (or even worse stuff in some cases) over the previous one, it’s hard to stay excited for more of something similar.
They've released 3 games in the last 4.5 years... harassing them cuz they havent released more info is ridiculous. Especially after they were hacked
Looks awesome, TMNT Shredder's Revenge was fantastic, it's a good thing the same dev team are working on this one
Maybe a new Simpsons game next?
I suppose under Disney if they can get the rights to make a Marvel game then Simpsons shouldn’t be an issue
I personally want more Ducktales. But I want a fully fledged Ducktales with modern graphics and 100m budget. Sue me.
Or TMNT 80s style RPG would do the trick.
FYI: The developers love to tease their next game through Easter eggs. Streets of Rage 4 had a TMNT reference and Shredder's Revenge had an X-Men reference. So be on the look out when this game drops.
Different devs, SoR4 was developed by Lizardcube, who are working on Shinobi: Art of Vengeance now.
TMNT Shredder's Revenge and Marvel Cosmic are developed by Tribute Games (Mercenary Kings, Panzer Paladin, Flinthook)
What was the X-Men reference?
This is the same publisher as Streets of Rage 4, not the same developer.
Same devs?! That’s awesome. And, yes! A Simpsons game would be incredible.
Simpsons would be awesome. Marge better have the old school vacuum!
i love it, i remember playing an avengers arcade game as a kid so much!
15 playable characters [description] is really cool by the way!
Idk why there arent more licensed side scrollers.
Imagine a star wars game 😭
A cosmic battle awaits!
After Annihilus has launched an unprecedented attack across the galaxy, all life hangs in the balance. Nova, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Phyla-Vell, Captain America, and many more heroes, both earth-born and cosmic, will join forces in a star-spanning brawling adventure against the deadly Annihilation Wave. From New York City to the depths of the Negative Zone, the future of the universe will be fought across the stars in MARVEL Cosmic Invasion!

Oh now this is like the old X-men game on standup and I’m down to play .
Yeah reminds me of the old Xmen Arcade Game. Loved that shit in the 90s
Same dev as Shredder's Revenge so I am looking forward to this. That was one co-op game that was really fun and easy to play with my kid.
Scrolling by I thought it was a tmnt game from the font used for the word invasion
The new power rangers game is really good and plays pretty similar to shredders revenge.
i still have to play that one , looks wonderful though
That's all I needed to hear. I'm lukewarm on beat-em-ups, but loved SR.
In other words, for physical collectors, wait until they have all the DLC out until a couple years later if you want an Ultimate Edition.
And this is immediately one of my most anticipated games. I love comics and I'm so glad Marvel is out of their "MCU synergy" dark era. They're doing a really good job just pushing for a variety of games from different devs now. They're also doing a really good job including a variety of characters and not just defaulting to the same popular ones.
I wish I could say the same for DC. Yikes over there. I'm still salty over the Wonder Woman game cancelation. I've been reading Absolute Wonder Woman and oh my god would that version especially be perfect for a video game. I mean, I know Monolith's game couldn't have been base on Absolute Wonder Woman anyway... but let me dream okay 😭.
All the Absolute series have been very good. WW especially though.
Warner Bros should already be exploring licensing some rights out to third party developers. The DC video game scene is a total shit show at the moment.
DotEmu is single handedly bringing about a new Golden Age of Beat Em Ups and I am not mad about it in the slightest.
A buy from me
Open scene of SM3: Peter: Wow I can’t believe we fought alongside the Avengers! Miles: Yea. Did you see that double electric move Thor and I did?! P: I sure did Miles. Well I hope their weeks long mission in space goes well. I guess NYC is counting on us for the time being.
thank christ.
we don’t need interconnected universes for everything.
it takes away from the ability to do unique crazy story’s
Plus if they follow comics then like they can literally have the connections while not. For instance, the recent avengers and guardians games could be in the same “universe” without it really needing to be intertwined
We don’t need interconnected universes but it would be nice to see other heroes actually pop up
“why didn’t spider-man call the avengers is he stu-“
sorry. wrong sub
It seems like every franchise has a universe nowadays and it's getting out of hand, which earnings show
Honestly, I’m kind of disappointed but also glad because they 100% would have messed it up somehow. Though it would be cool to have more games aside from just Spider-Man
Would've been too challenging with the time it takes to make these games
Good. Too many disconnected studios, it woulda been a disaster. Spider-Man PS4 cannot co-exist with Midnight Suns.
