War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron
The "War for Cybertron" and "Fall of Cybertron" games are consistently praised as some of the best in the Transformers video game series. Many players regard them as peak gameplay experiences with immersive worlds and fantastic storytelling [1:3],
[2:1]. They are often compared to other top-tier licensed games like the Arkham and Spider-Man series
[2:3]. Despite their age, these games hold up well and are cherished by fans
[2:4].
Transformers: Devastation
"Transformers: Devastation" is another highly regarded game, known for its engaging combat mechanics and vibrant art style reminiscent of the original animated series. It was developed by PlatinumGames and is noted for being one of their last great titles [2:3]. The game offers a unique take on the Transformers universe, setting it apart from other entries
[2:5].
Transformers: Armada
Released on the PS2, "Transformers: Armada" is fondly remembered for its engaging levels and unique gameplay elements, such as rescuing Mini-Cons [5:4]. The Tidal Wave level, in particular, is highlighted as a standout experience
[5:2],
[5:8]. Fans appreciate its nostalgic value and have expressed interest in a remaster
[5:10].
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
While not universally acclaimed, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" has its share of fans who enjoyed its multiplayer mode and the ability to play as various characters [5:2]. It is often mentioned alongside other notable titles in the franchise
[5:3].
Challenges with Availability
One common issue with many of these beloved games is their availability. Due to licensing issues, several titles, including "War for Cybertron" and "Fall of Cybertron," have been delisted from digital stores, making physical copies the only option for playing them [2:6]. This has led to increased prices and difficulty in accessing these games on modern consoles
[1:11].
Overall, while there are several standout titles in the Transformers video game series, "War for Cybertron," "Fall of Cybertron," and "Transformers: Devastation" are frequently highlighted as the best experiences for fans of the franchise.
I honestly feel like we’ll never get anything as good as the Cybertron games. But in general, these games were all nice.
Devastation was a very fun transformer’s version of MGR
Metal gear revenegence!??
Revenge of fallen was the best one the ps4 games were ass
All of these had a PS3 release. Rise of the Dark Spark was mediocre, while Devastation was awesome. The ones that came after were literary mobile games.
And after the license with Activision ended, we haven ’t gotten ANY great TF games on modern consoles! They’ve all had boring mechanics and mediocre stories so far. Fall of Cybertron was such an immersive world, with a fantastic story! I got a brand new, sealed copy of it for ps3 for Christmas. It runs like a dream! I just wish that I could play WFC/FOC on my ps5 haha
I want Fall of cybertron remake
It was released on PS4 although digital only unfortunately so unless you already bought it, you're SOL.
It’s delisted too like wtf
I want a simple remaster without anything changed. Just a bump in resolution, 60/120Fps and 3D audio.
Same! There are leaks, and rumors . . . The game icons were recently updated on Steam . . . A remaster may be coming.
Linkin Park came to mind
War for Cybertron was an amazing game
2007 Transformers: The Game
2009 Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
2010 Transformers: War for Cybertron
2011 The Transformers: Dark of the Moon
2012 Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
2014 Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark
2015 Transformers: Devastation
Rate them and if you can tell me some pros and cons to each if you have the time.
Thank you.
I grew up with Transformers The Game I never really played the other games but I played the absolute shit out of TtG the destruction Physics and gameplay was really fun
Nice. good stuff.
War/Fall are two of the best licensed games of all time, up there with the Arkhams and the Spider-Man games. I would also rank Devastation extremely high (and was one of the last legit great Platinum games), and it's a shame none of them are readily available or easily accessible on modern hardware.
Yea war and fall are up in price, I'm going to see why soon I guess.
They are expensive because Activision lost the license, the same with platinum. And because of that, they had to be taken off the ps store and are now only playable on disc.
They're both fantastic, enjoy!
Fall of Cyberton is peak and it's not close
TY.
War and Fall by a long shot. Devastation also has my respect for being its own thing.
TY.
War for cybertron and fall of cybertron were my child hood and they hold up today. 11/10 peak fucking gameplay experiences. I always say experience it for yourself and dont listen to me or anyone else.
I will, but just want to get an idea from you all and that will give me a start.
It’s crazy to me that Transformers: Director’s Cut on PS2 is the second best game in this entire collection!
My brothers and I played war for Cybertron until the servers went down. Hopefully we get a new one soon
Are War and Fall just dead games now? Like, even if you have the disks they won’t work ‘cuz the servers are gone?
Nah you can play the discs just offline no online
Oh man, I used to watch gameplay of ROTF on YouTube a lot as a kid growing up. I only had a PS2, so I went out of my way to get a copy of ROTF for myself, expecting the same gameplay. You can imagine my disappointment when I found out that the PS2 port was entirely different from PS3/X360...I was absolutely livid LOL. Hard lesson learned at age 10 haha
I am still a transformers fan to this day
Bunch of 80s kids in here wondering where all the toys are lol
Played The first one on ps2 a lot. After finally winning a "next gen" console in 2010 had a blast witb war for cybertron and fall. 16 years old loved that game back then (fall,2011) and i stil do
Only got to Revenge of the fallen on my potato . A original copy i saw once costed R$269 for ps3
Rotds above cyberverse ? They at least made something new unlike that abomination
Battlegrounds better than ROTDS? What are you smoking bro?
Rotds is garbage and took spot of third real cybertron game that never happened. And Battlegrounds is a fun game, nothing complicated but fun if you like the show.
I can understand not liking the gameplay for Cyberverse.
Fair, still better than Rise of the Dark Spark, that game was Fall of Cybertron reskin with zero improvements, worse level design, most of the multiplayer gutted, lootboxes, and absolutely horrendous story that tried to merge Age of Extinction with WFC/FOC (possibly Prime still not clear on that?) Universe. And it had an ugly UI redesign and no internal logic.
No I am not salty I got it at premiere at full price leave me alone I will cry now.
Cyberverse game sucked
I LOVED the ps3/xbox 360 version of ROTF, thought it was great
It’s speaks volumes how good the top three are when to this day I keep thinking they are the only TF games on accident
YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED EARTH WARS
It wasn’t in the tier list so I couldn’t rate it sadly
What would you rate it?Also Forged To Fight while your at it pls
Dark of the Moon game was real fun, it was a bayformer spin on War for Cybertron and had some real nice tricks, with Mirage, Lazerbeak and Starscream levels being quite different and unique, and the gameplay a bit more fast paced and vehicle reliant, also more proper Bossfights.
Multiplayer was kinda wacky with a bit of a tight squeeze in the maps and lower TTK
TF Armada. That Tidal Wave Level was AMAZING. Also Armada has the best Starscream and for me , Best Megatron design.
TF the Game. Destroying the buildings was so much fun as a Decepticon. Also playing as Skorpi.
WFC. So many fun Memories of Multiplayer and Campaign.
FOC. So many Memories of Escalation.
ROTF. I actually enjoyed the Multiplayer.
DOTM. While not as fun as the others, still enjoyed it, mostly Ratchet and Shockwave. Skorpi
ROTDS. Had the BEST Escalation and even managed to complete all 15 waves on my own.
I'll give dark spark that at the very least. I also liked playing as Swindle again.
War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron are great
Wish I had them.
Such an incredible experience
I'm not sure what the game was but it was on PS2 and you could play as 3 autobots including Optimus and you need to rescue microcons and the first level was in the jungle. It was awesome.
That's the Armada game, it's actual title is just Transformers though
TF Armada is such a great game to revisit
The best! You get to run around on tidal wave what could be better.
Can we please get a remaster of this?
Transformers the game for consoles because playing as Barricade and Blackout was awesome.
Transformers the game Decepticons DS was fantastic with the amount of transformations you can find and a surprisingly great story.
War for and Fall of Cybertron is a given.
Devastation is so good I can't believe it doesn't get more attention. The music in particular is amazing. And grappling with Blitzwing as Grimlock is awesome.
I really really have to play the armada game.
Edit: I can't believe I almost forgot about the War for Cybertron ds games. Those were amazing.

Not surprising comics are majority, since it’s the media that’s allowed to be more deep story telling and character development. The top tf books take the dna of transformers and make it bloom into something new and bold.

Hi there — If you’re looking for information about the Transformers video games, they're no longer available to buy digitally for PC or consoles. As of January 2018, Activision's license for making and selling Transformers-related games was not renewed. CD keys can sometimes be found from some online resellers, but the reliability of these may be questionable. Your best bet is to look for used copies of the games on physical discs for PC or consoles.

The PS2 Armada game was pretty good
I personally think that’s the best Transformers game, followed by the WFC/ FOC games.
Outside of the Devil May Cry 1 and 3 I was never a hack and slash guy, so personally wasn’t a fan of Devastation (my little brother loves it, DMC is his favorite game so it makes sense).
Yep this game is really good especially at the time when there were no good TF games. But the Cybertron games are the goats
Yeah honestly, that wowed me at the time, the main thing being conservation of momentum. I loved revving into battle transforming and sliding the last few feet, blasting enemies.
Yes including the ds bayverse games
I wish I still had my copy of the autobot version of those games. Really underrated.
I currently only have the decepticon ds games trying to get autobots
Decepticons was so fucking hard, the mission where you play as Starscream is especially difficult (I had to use an exploit in the first part because you apparently lose Bumblebee if you’re not right up his ass the entire time)
Mine glitched, and starscream got stuck at the end.
I got stuck a couple times but I eventually beat decepticons
Hardest most bullshit game I ever played was Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer. I will never forget.
Transformers Autobots/Decepticons (2007) DS - Technically insane for the hardware, expansive and fun. One of the best games on the system.
Transformers (Armada) (2004) PS2 - the best "Transformers" game. The perfect encapsulation of what makes Transformers great.
Transformers Devastation - Best Gameplay
WFC/FOC - Good Gameplay, Fantastic Story, Multiplayer was amazing.
All are fucking great in each their own ways.
I think personally I like the DOTM game the most because it's a really good prequel to the movie and it's just a really satisfying linear story. Transformers The Game is second because of the Decepticon campaign
The DS versions of the 2007 game.
yep. specifically the decepticon version too.
I should have the Decepticon version on Thursday or Friday. I originally ordered both from GameStop, but the sent the RotF Decepticon version instead. Ripped me off for a dollar, and I had to reorder, pay shipping again.
Keith David as Barricade is underrated
TF1 decepticons DS.
Probably DOTM because it played very close to WFC/FOC if I recall, and it was a pretty well done sequel instead of a clumsy retelling of the movie. I honestly liked them all though to be fair.
DOTM because it was made by high moon and plays like the WFC games
DOTM game for giving me the Shockwave fight I wanted to see in the movie.
Which platform did you use to play?
My personal pick would be Transformers: Decepticons on the DS. With a new good story, great characterization, and fun gameplay it's a game that I will always go back to.
I wish they remastered it for the 3ds.
feels wrong to pick between WFC/FOC but ultimately I pick FOC for tighter campaign.

Shame they never made another one...
I respect your choice I didn't want to put wfc and foc together but the pol was about the GREATEST transformers game ever.
My favorite was foc because of the awesome campaign.
Op is evil they made me choose one
Fall of cybertron is not the best videogame, it's the best transformers thing ever created.
The Cybertron (War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron) games weren't just amazing games with a ton of replay value; they were top-tier games that were released in very overcrowded years of game releases. Which ir ironic because the franchises they competed with (Mass Effect and Halo) are now quite tarnished.
Then either Habro and/orActivision didnt renew the license, and now they are essentially lost media. You can download them online but not legally.
Now, Hasbro, Microsoft and/or Activision are sat on these games doing absolutely nothing after confirming they still have the code. All of this after they relegated High Moon Studios to CoD support....
Doesn't matter if you are a Trasnformer fan or not, these games were some of the most fun of the 2010's and what happened to them is infuriating.
Have both of these on PS3. Loved War For Cybertron, but I could never finish the campaign in Fall of Cybertron because every few minutes the game would crash. I had no idea they are considered lost media though.
Also, it's probably a Hasbro thing more than Activision. Activision can't make another game if they don't have the license.
'Rise of the Dark Spark' is the third game, but it's better forgotten.
Dark Spark wasn't so much the next installment of War for/Fall of Cybertron as it was using many mechanical assets from those two games. There's no story tie in at all.
I always thought the dev build the earth levels and made the story and the cybertron levels were cut content that wasnt good enough for the other games.
There is no missing third game. The game’s events essentially lead into the Transformers Prime show. Yes, they’re connected. It’s a very messy continuity called the Aligned continuity.
Same, but different. I’m driving in at full speed as a little car, transforming, just absolutely harassing everyone in a battle. Nothing felt better than seeing one of your teammates in a battle and rolling in like the cavalry.
Couldn’t tell you how many times I was about to die when a jet medic would come flying into heal. So many awesome moments.
The only game I actually spent money on for cosmetics in multiplayer. Getting to pick out new unique robot and vehicle modes and customise them into my own bots was so cool.
I absolutely loved this game and I still miss it...
No. Activision is well known for abandoning licenses and delisting games. Transformers and many of their Marvel games. These two and the Ultimate Alliance games were remastered for PS4/X1. I was waiting for a sale on the UA ones and they were delisted after a yer or so. I managed to find some EU codes online for $26 a few years back.
There were some rumors about Microsoft possibly reactivating many of the licenses about a year ago.
Oh much longer than that. For anyone who remembers the first TF movie, they (Hasbro) got so much hell for killing off beloved characters that they brought them all back in the later animated series.
I still remember only being able to play the beta back on my 360, but it was one of the most mindblowing games I’ve got to try.
These two games are my favorite pieces of transformers media to date. Nothing beat the amazing gameplay and fun story of these games. Are other stories better? Yeah. I hate what they did with starscream in FOC when he took control but after when he and his solo mission I was happy again. And don’t even get me started on Grimlock. That is the best iteration of grimlock we have ever had and nothing has even come close to it.
I recommend trying the 2004 Armada game for the PS2 if you haven’t yet.
