Online Retailers
Several online retailers are frequently recommended for purchasing rare anime figures. Amiami and Mandarake are popular choices for both new and pre-owned figures [3:1]
[4:1]. Solaris Japan is another option, especially if you're looking for specific figures like Ranma 1/2 figuarts
[1:2]. MyFigureCollection is also mentioned as a reliable platform for secondhand purchases
[4:2].
Auction and Marketplace Sites
For those looking for rare finds, auction sites such as Yahoo Auctions Japan can be a good resource [3:1]. Additionally, platforms like Mercari offer a variety of figures, and some sellers ship internationally
[2:2]. Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree are also suggested for finding grails, but buyers should be cautious about verifying the authenticity of the figures
[3:3].
In-Person Shopping in Japan
If you're visiting Japan, Mandarake is highly recommended, particularly the Nakano Broadway location, which is known for its extensive collection of anime figures across multiple floors [5:1]. Lashinbang in Akihabara is another spot worth checking out for older and hard-to-find figures
[5:2].
Community Resources
The subreddit r/AnimeFigures offers a comprehensive FAQ that includes various trusted sources for buying anime figures [1:1]
[4:4]. Engaging with the community through forums and sales posts can also provide valuable insights and opportunities to purchase rare figures
[3:1].
Tips for Buying Rare Figures
When seeking rare figures, it's important to act quickly as they tend to sell out fast [3:1]. Utilizing alert services to notify you of restocks can give you an edge in acquiring these items
[3:2]. Always verify the authenticity of figures, especially when buying from marketplaces or secondhand sources, to avoid bootlegs
[3:3].
Hello I'm looking for a rare anime figurine (it's a Ranma 1/2 figuarts) and was wondering if anyone had any website suggestions? I'll also need the option of them shipping overseas since I live in Australia.
Are these the ones you're looking for?? https://solarisjapan.com/search#q=Ranma%201%2F2%20figuarts&page=0
Thank you :)
Thanks this is handy!

Thanks!
I use Zenmarket or CDJapan to proxy buy since im in the States.
Could you get the magic knight rayearth sp figures?
It’s very hard to find new and sealed ones. Can you accept second hand one?
As long as the figure is complete with a box, I don't mind second hand.
You have an Alucard castkevania nendoroid?
It’s very rare in Japan.
This is a tough business. Good luck!
Amiami pre-owned, Mandarake, Solaris, MyFigureCollection, sales posts here, Mercari, Yahoo Auctions JP….
Just keep in mind that “rare” figures typically go fast, so you need to stay on top of it… I saw a Revy bunny sell in 40 seconds after amiami listed it one time. Edit: spelling
People know when amiami restocks used figures. They also use services to be alerted to a re stock of the figure they want. So they just wait around at the re stock time and if they get an email they get a direct link to the page and snipe it. It's 1 AM GMT, btw.
Giving an answer that hasn't been listed already
Honestly Facebook marketplace can be really fucking good; I've gotten some grails BNIB for essentially retail price. Just always keep an eye out and follow some figure selling pages.
Gumtree and similar platforms can be good too since not many people will check there
Obviously ask for photos of the figure / box to ensure its legitimate and not a bootleg as some people will try to write off a bootleg as authentic.
Good luck!
In the About Section of this group Reddit app version, "Ye Olde Sidebar" of the desktop version and the General Questions thread just under the Bootleg thread at the top of the sub's page which, is also on the desktop version of Reddit.
Newish collector tbh, Mostly have a few Nendoriods here and there but looking to expand into fuller figures, so where do you guys mostly buy them from?
TOM when there's sales, >30% points, or their free shipping saves me money. They're more expensive and had some issue with their warehouse damaging boxes though.
Otherwise amiami for most preorders, Mandarake for used/older things, and now Goodsmile's website when I want preorder bonuses. I've also had good luck buying secondhand on MyFigureCollection
TOM when the math works out in my favor with points/promotions and free shipping. Otherwise Amiami, or Mandarake for pre-owned. I've also had one good experience and no bad experiences buying used figures on MFC.

Hello everybody, I'm going to Japan next month and I wanna look for hard to find grails in person. Is there any good in-person shops for that ?
Mandarake especially the few shops in Nagano Lashinbang around akihabara, largest store in Akiba cultural zone
Mandarake!!
Definitely Mandarake
lashinbang mandarake and surugaya
Mandarake but more specifically the one on Nakano Broadway. Honestly it’s like 3-4 floors of anime figure heaven. Loads of little units of ppl selling anime goods
Hey so I’m new to buying those type of figurines and I wanna know what site do you recommend? Trustworthy that have lots of figurines from the big 3 to manhwas and manga and if possible one that ship by sea
FigureChoice is a sister site to.... favorGK, I believe... And I go to them strictly as a back up for when I can't find the figure elsewhere. Kaioland is also a good site to go to for putting in a request to find a figure. For example, I wanted the Honey House Womenswear LoZ Link figure and nobody had it online, Kaioland was able to find one for me and sell it to me.
But for my bulk searches and purchases, I go to OrzGK. They have a Whatsapp for quicker customer service than email. And they're willing to work with you on a payment plan, or set different dates of payment if you run into trouble. I've also purchased from WeAreAnimeCollectors once, and that transaction went smoothly.
For official figures, I usually go to BigBadToyStore or EntertainmentEarth.
I've been looking at OrzGK for quite some time now and I noticed that their prices are much much higher at least for the statues that I'm looking for, but I do agree that they have good CS maybe that's why they are more expensive.
That's kind of what I was thinking, but what sold me is the flexibility in payments. It defaults to paying deposits for preorders and the remaining amount when they have the figures in their warehouse, or full price for stock; but I had preordered 2 figures I expected to wait longer on in two different months, but they both came up for the rest of payment within the same week. I spoke with customer service to see if I could delay one of them, since my budget was going to be tight for this holiday. They accepted and asked me what day I'd like to have scheduled for the remaining payment. Worked out great. Got the one already, and the second figure just landed in the US a few days ago. These 2 figures make it now 5 figures I got with them.
For the figures I've been interested in, Orz's prices are competitive, but they're also from franchises not at the height of their popularity at the moment. So I'll admit I'm out of the loop for price comparisons for best shops. Sidenote, I think FigureChoice is pricier by a small margin than OrzGK? At least for the figures I've gotten, just for fair warning.
hey random question but what did you write in the description section of the kaioland request? i'm actually looking for the exact same resin figure as you were (google search sent me to this post LMAO) and i'm just not sure what i'd write in the description area. thanks in advance
Just ask them if they're able to find a figure you're looking for and give as much detail as possible of the figure, the name/title of it, the studio that makes it, the character and show depicted, etc. Might help to mention the year it was made. Also mention what sort of preference of quality you want, like if second hand is okay, or if you're looking for new in box. The figure I asked for is a bit hard to come by, so I was okay with second hand, but I wasn't okay with damage, like chips or paint scuffs. That sort of thing. Once you put in the request, they'll email you back, but it can take a few days, they're a smaller vendor.
look first in FNC or fanaticanimestore. they have the best prices and shipping fee though their stocks tend to sold out fast. if you cant find what you're looking for there, check out toyokoku, kaioland or hexapusacg. I tend to look lastly at orzgk, they seem to inflate their prices compared to other sites.
In FNC, for pre order items, you will pay the deposit first and then they will send you monthly invoice using paypal. and then the shipping fee after that. for in stock items, you can pay the deposit then they will send you an open invoice payable within 2 months.
In Kaioland, for in stock items you can pay the deposit and you will have 3 months to complete the rest of the payment before they ship. The price of their statues already includes shipping fee. You just pay the full price and that’s it.
I haven’t had an installment in Hexapusacg so I dont know their process but they do have an installment option. You can join their whatsapp group, they are very active and the owner is quick to answer questions.

orzgk is a website I trust. Because I have been deceived by other websites. But orzgk makes me feel at ease. Although its price is a bit high, I feel more assured. It doesn't matter if the price is high.
What about shipping? They don’t show any estimates and last time I ordered before checking the shipping price it was more than the product itself
They estimate the shipping cost based on the distance and the size of the item. I don't live that far away, so I think the price and stuff is OK.
If the distance is far, the shipping cost is relatively high. You can ask them if there is a cheaper way of shipping.
Since I leave in Australia I can mainly buy them online but I have a ebgames in my town and they sell anime funko pops so I buy them from ebgames, right now I've bought hawks, enmu and mikasa figure.
I recommend checking out r/animefigures to learn about them. Alot of figures cost that much but they don't necessarily have to. Nor, should you feel like you need to spend that much. There are different classifications of figures typically the more pricy ones are called scales. Due, to them being "scaled" to the character. However if you want something cheaper I recommend looking into prize figures
Appreciate it
Some figures cost more than hundreds
I use amiami for my figures usually and specfiction for my statues
Hello everybody! I'm not new to the hobby, and I've used Mandarake a few times for older prize figures. However, I would like to know which sites it's possible to buy (or preorder, even) newly released prize figures. Any help is appreciated
If you're in the US, Big Bad Toy Store is pretty good for pre-ordering prize figures. I've found that new stuff goes up on Mandarake pretty fast though. I wouldnt necessarily recommend pre ordering prize figures though as sometimes the prototype and final product can be very different, moreso than scales
AmiAmi, Mandarake, Jungle. New or old they all have all as preowneds. You just need to be attentive after release for the new ones. I'd say I've ordered the most prize figures from Mandarake altogether.
If I preorder then Big In Japan, but their prize offerings are relatively random. HobbyLink Japan has quite a bigger selection usually.
But the truth is that it doesn't really worth preordering prizes since almost always you'll be able to pick them up quite cheaper as preowned.
Some Taito figures though can prove to be online crane exclusive, and they very very rarely appear as preowneds in Japanese shops, if ever. But they can be found on Aliexpress in some shops that offer genuine figures.
bigbadtoystore has long shipping but a huge variety. I also order from Amazon but be careful and check brand/reviews!
Ninoma
Global Freaks is my go to store to pre order prize figures. Aftermarket and pre ordering scales I usually use Solaris Japan or Nin Nin Game.
I've been looking mainly for the goodsmile yotsugi ononoki dx but its around $350 preowned (and usually damaged) everywhere I can find it for sale. I'm thinking I might be looking in the wrong places but I also could just be coping. If that is the price then it is what it is I suppose, but I'm still highly in denial and not willing to give up searching for a better deal. Wheres the best place to find something like this?
Looking around it does seem like that is standard pricing for the figure. You can use a proxy service like Buyee to keep an eye out for the figure on Yahoo Japan Auctions and Mercari. If you keep an eye out, you can sometimes snag figures for a really good price! I would also keep an eye out on Mandarake. You can use buyfriend.moe to be alerted if the figures goes in stock
Very helpful, thank you
Seemingly new and unopened on jp mercari: https://jp.mercari.com/item/m71319278812
You will need a proxy to buy it. Do your due diligence to make sure it is legit and as described before buying.

So I recently moved to Japan and I was looking to buy some figures first hand, mostly prize figures that aren’t released in the US yet or will take longer, but I can’t figure out what websites to visit! Any recommendations?
amiami is your best bet! they do preorders too and stuff. if not, i'm pretty sure you can buy in physical stores as well.
Prize figures are technically second-hand figures as shops are not allowed to sell it brand new. You'd have to win it as a prize. Anyways, sometimes you can purchase it unopened on secondhand shops. Amiami, Mandarake, Suruga-ya, Mercari, Yahoo Flea Market and Yahoo Auctions are the go-to for online. You can also check Book-off/Hobby-off as they always have a corner/area for figures.
Thank you! I honestly didn’t know that! So like even the ones you can buy on the Crunchyroll store site in the states, you can’t get firsthand here ?
Yup! You can order scale figures but not prize figures as first-hand. Don't worry though, second hand shops are still brand new/unopened for the most part here. Collectors are so serious here that even boxes should be near mint even if it's a prize figure 🤣. Be careful of the small shops selling prize figures in touristy areas like in Akihabara though, sometimes they tend to overprice.
Prize figures are almost always second hand because they’re won in prize machines and lotteries. Doesn’t mean they’re opened, they’re just not technically “first hand”
