Call Me By Your Name by Andre Acimen has that teenage summer feeling, but with an adult partner. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but the prose is beautiful and the writing is heartbreakingly good.

I fully agree. I’ve seen some posts and comments where people are saying there have been so many changes from the books to the tv show and it is utterly perplexing to me. I feel like this adaptation is one of the truest to the original source material I’ve ever seen. Almost nothing has been taken out. The vast majority of changes have just been additions. But what’s beautiful is that the changes would have been added by the author, Jenny Han, so the changes are all enhancements that she wishes she had been able to include in the books. The fact that we’re getting some of the most iconic scenes verbatim from the books is absolutely a dream come true. And don’t even get me started on how Chris Briney IS Conrad. The cast is killing it!

I just read the first book and was impressed to see how they took this chance not only to make the world created in the books come alive, but also expand it. It was a really good balance of following exactly the core of the story and what already worked and adding more.

I was not a fan of S2 - all the changes just don’t make sense, especially now that I’m watching S3 and they’re sticking closer to the books - but S1 and S3 so far have been amazing

Yes!!!!! This! I am so grateful for Jenny Han. For making this her passion project. We can feel her love for this story making this adaption. It’s literature, it’s poetry! I love everything about it.

I haven’t waited like 13 years since the final book came out not to see Conrad and Belly come together 

12 year old me would cry

I have suffered through Jelly scene after Jelly scene, I have suffered through all the pain of each character 

The fact it could end with no one pains me… 

In the real world I would get it but it’s a romantic tv show don’t do this to me 😭 

It will be like one day all over again for me

And just like that Tsitp became a un-rewatch-able show for at least 3/4 of the fandom ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t want current Belly to end up with anyone. She has so such self discovery to do. I wonder how they’ll fit everything in 3 episodes

What will snap Belly out of this alternate reality she has been living in😭

This is just some random screenwriter and not anyone associated with the show - don’t despair! Belly can still choose herself in Paris and grow up a bit and then go back to Conrad.

the summer of broken rules!!! it’s like the setting of we were liars (small island with lots of family) with the romance like the summer i turned pretty. they haven’t known each other their whole life, but it’s a summer love type! also if you’re a swiftie it has some good taylor swift references!

I read the book first (just the first of the series), and I much preferred the series. I think in the show Belly was much more likeable. I don’t love all the changes they made but I had more fun watching the show than reading the book. Also, Jeremiah’s got some moves 😂

I haven’t read these books, but lately every tv adaptation of a book or series of books, has had some pretty dramatic changes. For example, Virgin River, Sweet Magnolias and Firefly Lane all have major differences in the tv shows, almost to the point where the shows seem more inspired by the books.

The show is much better imo

The author wrote the book like over a decade ago, so I think she just has fleshed out the story since then.

There just wasn’t enough material in the books to fill a series so they had to create more subplots. I think the author is the creator of the series though, so the changes are faithful to the author’s vision

i get what you are saying. ive read this series twice, once like 5 years ago and again about 2 years ago. As i was watching it i was making corrections in my head. Yes its still great and i love how han did both, but i dont like how mainstream it is compared to the book. It doesnt feel like it changed completely, nor belly, but it changed enough to the point that its almost disarranged and muddling the character.

If the peach scene doesn't make it, I'll be so devastated.

God, the marketing of this season is awful.

What she means and what people don’t seem to get is that she makes the scene bigger from what it was in the books for example bellyconrad Christmas 1.0 she took that scene from the book and made it even better than what it was

sometimes i think about how embarrassing it is that at the end of all of this everyone will go “so she didn’t change the ending..” and how all of this press just seems.. childish.

Idk who needs to hear this but she is purposely trying to throw people off and once again people should stop falling for it. She isn’t gonna spoil what happens and she wants to get people to tune in. It’s all marketing that’s all it is.

Jenny rage baiting less than 48h before the final ep, I’ve got to admire the commitment but she definitely helps fuel the fandom crash outs so I have to think she likes them. I guess they have given her the biggest show of the summer so it’s a very effective marketing strategy.
