What Redditors are Saying

Best Gaming Desktops at Best Buy Under $1200

TL;DR

  • Consider the Yeyian Tanto Gaming Desktop with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700 and NVIDIA RTX 4070 for a balance of performance and price [2:1].
  • iBUYPOWER SlateMesh Gaming Desktop with AMD Ryzen 7 7700 and Radeon RX 7700XT is another solid option [2:1].

Recommended Models

  1. Yeyian Tanto Gaming Desktop: This model features an AMD Ryzen 7 5700 processor and an NVIDIA RTX 4070 graphics card, along with 16GB memory and a 1TB SSD NVMe Gen 4.0. It’s highlighted as one of the best deals within the budget range at Best Buy [2:1].

  2. iBUYPOWER SlateMesh Gaming Desktop: Equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 7700, 32GB memory, and an AMD Radeon RX 7700XT 12GB graphics card, this desktop offers robust performance for gaming. It also includes a 1TB NVMe SSD, making it a competitive choice in this price bracket [2:1].

Performance Considerations

When selecting a gaming desktop, it's crucial to consider the balance between CPU and GPU power. The models mentioned above offer strong processing capabilities paired with high-performance GPUs, which are essential for smooth gameplay at higher settings. The inclusion of SSDs ensures faster load times and overall system responsiveness.

Future Upgradability

If future upgrades are a consideration, ensure that the motherboard supports newer components like additional RAM or a more powerful GPU. Some users have expressed interest in upgrading their systems over time, which can be a cost-effective way to maintain performance without purchasing a new PC [4:3][5:4].

Financing Options

For those concerned about upfront costs, financing through Best Buy's credit options can make these purchases more manageable. This approach allows you to spread the cost over time without incurring interest, provided you meet the terms of the agreement [5:4][5:9].

In summary, both the Yeyian Tanto and iBUYPOWER SlateMesh desktops provide excellent value under $1200, offering the necessary specs for a satisfying gaming experience while allowing room for future upgrades.

ORIGINAL POST

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the PC world and looking to buy my first gaming PC. I’m hoping to get a good prebuilt, but I’m not sure what specs or models I should be looking for. My budget is around $1,500, but I can stretch it a bit if it’s worth it.

I’d prefer to buy from Best Buy since I got some gift cards for Christmas. Any recommendations on the best options in that price range or what to look for in a gaming PC?

Thanks in advance!

Best Buy Gaming Desktop

Posted by chadwick0898 · in r/PcBuild · 7 months ago

Would this be worth getting? It's not yet available, but I've been thinking about upgrading from a Laptop to a Desktop. Any feedback would be awesome. Price isn't a huge issue since I plan on using the BB credit card and making payments.

$1800 is 4070ti super systems or 7900xt. doubt a 5070 will beat that.

Which one of these should I get? Nearest Best Buy to me

Hi - I wanted to pick up a desktop from Best Buy before the prices go up, so I was just wondering which of these three computer you guys think would be the best. I pretty much would be happy with 1080p gaming, and not even really concerned with the newest big games - also wondering if the motherboard is good enough that I could upgrade to a 4070 Super or something later if I wanted to.

So, I want to get into gaming but I have never owned a pc before. im very new to this and don't know what to buy. I plan to play games that are not too too heavy or crazy, but I do plan to play often. Would this be a good option for me? Would there be a better option? Any recommendations are welcome.

I liked it especially bc it comes w a keyboard and mouse!! This is the link for it: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/ibuypower-element-gaming-desktop-pc-amd-ryzen-9-9900x-nvidia-geforce-rtx-5070-12gb-32gb-ddr5-rgb2tb-nvme-white/J3R75JY887#tabbed-customerreviews

id say get a cheaper prebuild with better parts like a pc from andromeda insights, cost plus gaming, or phyzx pcs. and spend money separately on better peripherals like a high quality mouse and keyboard, this prebuild has a 5070 Ti but if its a tad too expensive, this one also has a 5070 ti but a more gaming focused cpu and less multitasking

1 upvotes on reddit
pommegranates · OP · 1 month ago

So my thought was buy it from Best Buy now (bc I can finance it over time w/o interest instead of dropping a grand) and then upgrading over time. Do you think this is reasonable?

whatever your financial situation is i would go with what makes sense so if financing works definitely do that!

St that price you should be getting a 5070ti. Go to cost plus gaming or andromeda insights.

it is always best to build your own pc as you are getting the best value for money prebuilts you have to be carefull around as you can get scammed and riped off easly it is probebly best you learn more about pcs if your intersed in building one ( watching lots of linus tech tips, pc building totorials ect) i can make a list of pc parts you can order and build. im not really good at finding prebuilts i prefer just building but its not not an option Just with 1300-1500 is a budget that with prebuilts your spending all your money into the prefomace your paying for labour, and they need profit too. so overall building is the best option but youd probs need to learn a bit more i can make you list just ask :) prebuilts are fine as long as you know how to snag a good deal and know what you taliing abt.

What is the best Gaming PC to buy for under 1200?

Posted by -ZeroBlanks- · in r/computers · 1 year ago

I've never posted before so please excuse any errors.

I've finally managed to save around 1200 dollars and I thought it was about time to look for a decent gaming pc to set my sights on. I want to play games like modded skyrim, minecraft, and the sims 3 but I also want to be able to play newer games that will eventually come around. I'm willing to spend a bit more but any recommendations are appreciated even if they are out of my price range.

Then played so much games including many exclusive titles which were the best games i have ever played in my life and those stories have left a piece inside my heart forever which costed me another 350 dollars which i sold every games discs at half the price so effective cost was 175$

Without you can buy a really good build with 4070 and Corei5 last generation

With monitor preferably, I can always save up but anything above 1400 would definitely be a no-go. I hate to ask but could you explain 4070 and Corei5 to me? I have absolutely no prior knowledge on computers since I've basically ran full force into this without much thought or research.

4070 - GeForce 4070, video card based on the nVidia chipset.

You'll need to add another stick of RAM yourself or performance will be quite disappointing. Don't be surprised if the PSU dies.

Yeah but adding 16gb of RAM is only $100 and takes about 5 seconds so I’m fine with that. I ordered it for the mental health of not constantly checking all these websites for a PC to be in stock

Also the CPU cooler seems a bit sketchy, it might not actually be the AIO pictured and instead be a crappy little OEM-style fan like you see here. If it is that'd probably be worth replacing as well.

You can just figure out what RAM they send you and then buy another stick of that and it should work. Or buy a 16 GB RAM kit and sell the 8 GB stick, then you can get 3600 mhz CL16 RAM.

Hi /u/wysard34, welcome to /r/buildapcforme! This comment is here to provide you some additional information and advice.

Parts Shortages

If you have tried to browse through some parts already or read any recent articles on PC building, you have probably seen that there is a massive worldwide shortage of GPUs (video cards) that has left retailer stock levels almost entirely empty. Please see this subreddit sticky post on the current CPU and GPU shortages for additional information. Note that if you are looking to build any kind of PC that requires more than basic graphics horsepower, such as for gaming or media creation work, your first priority should be to getting your hands on a GPU before going any farther.

Direct Message Scams

Recently a number of users have set up spam-bots targeting this subreddit to send out PMs and DMs to all users who submit posts to this subreddit. These accounts sometimes pose as teenagers offering to help design a build in exchange for a "donation" to help them build a rig of their own, various companies offering services through external websites, or even users just claiming to offer help via PM - this last kind will often string you along for a while before demanding payment for their efforts. Do not reply to these messages. This subreddit thrives and grows on the volunteer efforts of every contributor who helps around here, often leaning and improving from seeing the work of others. If you receive any PM/DM messages related to your post here, please go to https://www.reddit.com/report and submit the username of the message sender under "This is spam." to help get these spam bot accounts permanently removed.

If you get another 100$ for the budget, this thing will pretty much beat anything you throw at it: OMEN 25L Gaming Desktop PC, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, 10th Generation Intel Core i7-10700F Processor, HyperX 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD and 1 TB Hard Drive, Windows 10 Home (GT12-0060, 2020), Shadow black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0891SX6XN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_3D9RSTD3HVG00EH5KANQ?psc=1

If you need to be on budget which I understand, they offer another one in your budget: OMEN 25L Gaming Desktop PC, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super, 10th Generation Intel Core i5-10400F Processor, HyperX 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, Windows 10 Home (GT12-0020, 2020) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088HJSMYR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_5R6WVBA2D8B3C1SGSAPJ?psc=1 . Do keep in mind this one has 8gb of ram, and a smaller m.2 drive. I recommend picking up a 2 tb HDD and another hyperx 8gb 2666mhz stick (be 100% sure it’s 2666mhz)

best gaming desktops at Best Buy under $1200

Key Considerations for Gaming Desktops Under $1200:

  1. Graphics Card (GPU): Look for desktops with at least an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT for decent gaming performance. Higher-end options like the RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT are preferable if available.

  2. Processor (CPU): Aim for at least an Intel Core i5 (10th gen or newer) or AMD Ryzen 5 (3000 series or newer) for good gaming performance.

  3. RAM: A minimum of 16GB of RAM is recommended for gaming to ensure smooth multitasking and performance.

  4. Storage: Consider a desktop with an SSD (at least 512GB) for faster load times, along with an additional HDD for extra storage if needed.

  5. Cooling System: Good cooling is essential for gaming desktops to maintain performance during extended gaming sessions. Look for models with adequate airflow and cooling solutions.

Recommendations:

  1. HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop: Often available under $1200, it typically features an AMD Ryzen 5 or Intel i5 processor, GTX 1660 or RTX 3060, and 16GB RAM, making it a solid choice for 1080p gaming.

  2. CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR: This desktop often comes with an Intel i5, GTX 1660 Super, and 16GB RAM. It's a great option for budget-conscious gamers looking for VR readiness.

  3. Dell G5 Gaming Desktop: Usually equipped with an Intel i5, GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 3060, and 16GB RAM, this model is known for its build quality and customer support.

  4. SkyTech Archangel Gaming Computer: This is a popular choice with an AMD Ryzen 5, GTX 1660 Super, and 16GB RAM, offering good performance for the price.

Final Tip: Always check for sales or bundles at Best Buy, as prices can fluctuate, and you might find a better deal or additional accessories included.
