TL;DR
Legion Series
The Lenovo Legion series is frequently recommended for gaming laptops featuring the RTX 3060. Users have praised the Legion 5 Gen 6 for its good performance in 1080p gaming [1:5], and it remains a solid choice in 2023
[1:8]. The Legion 5 Pro also comes highly recommended, especially if you're considering stepping up to an RTX 3070
[2:1].
Acer Predator Helios 300
Another recommended model is the Acer Predator Helios 300. It features a 12th gen i7 processor alongside the RTX 3060, providing fast performance for gaming [1:7]. This laptop is noted for its cooling efficiency, which is an important factor for maintaining performance during extended gaming sessions.
MSI and Dell Options
For those looking at MSI models, the MSI GF65 was mentioned as a good option with a 144Hz display [3:5]. The Dell G15 and Alienware m15 are also viable choices, offering solid build quality and gaming performance
[5:6].
Considerations Beyond GPU
While the RTX 3060 is a great choice for mid-range gaming, it's important to consider other factors such as CPU performance, screen size, and cooling efficiency. For example, users have suggested pairing the RTX 3060 with a Ryzen 5 CPU for optimal performance [3:7]. Additionally, screen preferences such as refresh rate and resolution can significantly impact your gaming experience
[5:9].
Budget Considerations
Pricing can vary widely based on location and availability. Some users have found deals on higher-end GPUs like the RTX 3070ti at competitive prices [1:3]. It's worth checking local retailers or online stores for current offers, keeping in mind that supply chain issues may affect pricing
[2:7].
Overall, while the Legion 5 stands out as a popular recommendation, there are several other models worth considering depending on your specific needs and budget.
Hi guys i want to buy a midrange gaming laptop , after a few search i found that an RTX3060 is the best quality/price , i am thinking about (Legion 5 gen 6 ) is still good in 2023 ?is there any other laptop to suggest ? iam really considred by cooling effeincy a mid cpu i5 or amd is enough for me thanks .
If you're near a MicroCenter, you can get a 3070ti for $1K. https://www.microcenter.com/product/663175/hp-omen-17-ck1020nr-173-gaming-laptop-computer-black
The other good deal right now is step down to a 6500 for $700 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6532167.p?skuId=6532167
I don't see any remarkable deals for a 3060 right now.
Is there a 15'' laptop with a 3070ti for that price?
The closest is a legion 5 thats 15" with a 3070 ti but is $1200
Thanks for the suggestion dude , what you think about the 3060 choice ?! I think is the best value/price ?!
I think an acer predator helios 300 is good it has the 12th gen i7 12700H and an rtx 3060. it ran really fast for me
As I said, I don't see any good deals on a 3060 right now. I agree that it's a pretty good balance generally, but I just don't see anything good today.
I have a Legion 5 Gen 6, and honestly, it still performs quite well if you want to game in 1080p.
Exactly , iam not really fan of higher resolution , 1080 is good fr me :)
Any luck finding what you have been looking for? I'm having the same dilemma as you, so care to help a fellow citizen like you.
Hi bro , i bought the Legion 5 two months ago and I am pretty satisfied with it I really liked the option that save the battery cycles ,mi heard that option is not in every laptop .
Is it new or used and where from?
A used like new laptop for 1300$ iam from Algeria there is no official stores only people bringing them from EU .

Alienware M17 R4 is shipping with 3 screen typs + both i7/i9 and 3070/3080 options but I can't see the Watt specs for GPUs if anyone has an idea thanks so much in advance....
They're max P if I'm not mistaken. 140w for 3070
do you know the tdp of the rtx 3060 variant
Thanks but after a bit of thinking I decided not to do Laptop at all there is just such a big difference with the full size graphic cards (once you get your hands on one lol). So I can live with a SFF build in this case.
Also from what I checked on this laptop a big factor is the screen upgrade = lot of extra power drain. I'd recommend staying with the stock unless you really need the 4k for some reason.
Really wish that website would tell you which GPU (and possibly TGP) it has on the listing instead of having to click most of them...
>ld tell you which
here is a video comparing all the ampere rtx 3000 series GPU for laptops using same power TGP
Does the Legion 5 pro use max q or max p for the GPU?
Legion 5 Pro with rtx 3070 is max p at 125 + 15 tgp
Really i'm not impressed this year. The Asus laptops look sweet af but i couldn't care less for QHD, and FHD doesn't feel future proof even if it gets you an 5800H + 3070/80.
I have a big weak spot for perfect screens and it sucks that Razer is still the only laptop with an OLED screen with an intel cpu that looks like a toy next to the AMD cpus
I agree with what you said about razer blade and yeah those QHD and FHD not important.
I appreciate your list. Someday when I have more money I'll buy a laptop. It would be nice to have a laptop in conjunction with my desktop.
In your opinion do you think the pricing of these laptops are a bit inflated due to the supply chain issues world wide? If so, what's your opinion on when you think they will go down?
You ever think of starting your own YouTube channel and reviewing laptops?
Sorry for the million questions.
Thanks bud. I love these posts but that website is just hard to navigate.
I just want to know which would be the most worthwhile and last the longest.
If you play alot of cpu titles like I do anything with a 12th gen cpu and a full power 3060 tbh.
a 3070...
Really depends on your preferences. There are lots of great ones that you might want based on size and weight. The legion 5, legion 5 pro, asus zephyrus g15, MSI GE76/66, MSI GP66/76, and hp omen 15, 16, and 17
I would really prefer one with at least a ryzen 5 CPU and a good screen
I recently bought one with i5 10 and 144hz display Msi gf65
Do you have a screen size preference or a weight preference?
This is a good question

Yes. You can easily get 3060 in this range. Even a 3070 8gb one as well.
Can u recommend which laptops?
Lenovo legions. With 3060 and 3070 both. MSI GL66 with 3070. HP Omen with 3060.

Msi's delta 15 is for sale at $1300 at Best Buy. The RX 6700m on this laptop is basically an rtx 3070.
6700m is in between the 3060 and the 3070.

You can go for Dell g15 or Alienware m15 r6 also

Legion 5 would be my recommendation
Thanks so much for your recommendation
Which one do you guys think is the best overall, considering price, build quality, performance and temps?
There is not a best one, when you consider more then one factor. Yes one 3060 laptop maybe performs the best, but it also maybe cost 2x much as one performing 10% worse.
The best is legion 5. It's a 3060 machine at its core, and the cooling is superior in comparison to the others.
Budget?
It's for a friend actually, within $1300. Sorry for the late reply.
These are potential options. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-strix-g15-advantage-edition-15-6-qhd-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-9-5980hx-16gb-memory-radeonrx-6800m-512gb-ssd/6486485.p?skuId=6486485

There is also Lenovo, which has very good laptops. https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-5-series/legion-5i-gen-7-(15-inch-intel)/len101g0016
2021/22 legion 5, 2022 (not 144 Hz) TUF Gaming A15/F15, 2022 Helios 300, Asus ROG Strix G15 AMD Advantage Edition if you're from the US.
The Rog Strix G15 boasts 140 W TGP. I thought the max tgp of 3060 was up to 130 W. 🤔 Considering the Cpu, the Strix should be slightly better than the Legion 5. Unfortunately, the Helios 300 neither has a high tgp nor a mux switch.
2022 Helios has higher tgp and a MUX switch. And max tgp of 3060 is 140w
The 2022 predator Helios series have vastly improved from last year’s models, I had mine for a while now and I have zero complains.
Very solid option. Honestly it's pretty much between legion 5 and the helios. I'd go for the legion for the slightly better build quality, but the helios performs better in games.
Hey r/newproducts, been digging through reviews, specs, and way too many reddit threads lately trying to find the perfect gaming laptop, figured i’d drop what i found in case anyone else’s in the same boat. I may earn an Affiliate Commission if you buy through links here.
after doing research i found these gaming laptops to be the best currently:
if you’re looking for raw power, big screen, and future-proof specs, the ASUS ROG Strix G18 is an absolute beast. crazy smooth performance and handles AAA games like nothing. it’s big tho, so not the most portable.
the MSI Katana 15 surprised me tbh: more budget-friendly, but still solid 1080p gaming. not flashy, but if you’re not trying to spend 2k+, it’s a reliable pick.
and then there’s the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16: probably the most balanced of the three. it’s light, powerful, and has that sleek design that actually looks professional. great choice if you game and take it to work or class.
all three have RTX 40-series cards, great thermals, and high refresh screens. depends on whether you want max power, portability, or value. #amazon
this helped me justify my g16 purchase
g16 display build = elite combo
Incomplete lost considering Lenovo legion pro series aren't on there.
Budget up to 1500$
Lenovo legion 5 with rtx 3070ti available in lenovo website for 1200$. Get that one.
One that's in stock for the lowest price.
Lenovo legion . Asus TUF 2022. But with you budget you can probably get something better than RTX3060.
I was researching laptops with RTX 3060, but I found that many manufacturers offer laptops with this GPU but a very low TGP.
One of the best options I found is the Acer Predator Helios 300 which has an RTX 3060 with a TGP of 105. But I saw options from other brands with a TGP of 115.
What would your recommendations be?
Legion 5 Pro... Hands down the best!
Yeah, but then need to feed that 1600p display...
Feed? Sorry i didn't get the reference...
Legion 5 ( non-pro )
165hz + gsync smooth like a butter
115w 130w with dynamic boost. Great screen for a budget laptop. Great thermals. Great deal
Msi is cheap and works w 90 day return policy you can shop for better deal during the time
Check out this youtube channel he provides comparisons of 3060 laptops with all tgps
I'm looking for a laptop with a 3080ti or 3080 16 vram i couldn't find it only on a store named best laptop but they only have an alienware.
Does anyone knows a store that has them ?
Why do you need something like 16GB VRAM? You can go for the RTX 4070, which is widely available and cheaper, and the 3080 is rarely found, but only used.
Games are already eating vram like crazy i want something that will run the upcoming games.
And i want to use it for editing too which the vram will be helpful
I have an RTX 4070 8GB VRAM and I haven't faced any problems. Unreal Engine 5 and Autodesk work normally, and games are also fine. Do you know why? Because basically the laptop's performance doesn't allow it to exceed 8GB VRAM. If you really need a lot of power, either go for an RTX 4080, which is very expensive, or go for a PC.
For what work?
Sorry for the late reply.
For gaming and video editing

best gaming laptops with RTX 3060
Key Considerations for Gaming Laptops with RTX 3060:
Performance: Look for laptops with a strong CPU (Intel i7 or AMD Ryzen 7) to complement the RTX 3060 for optimal gaming performance.
Display Quality: A high refresh rate (144Hz or higher) and good resolution (1080p or 1440p) are important for smooth gameplay and visual clarity.
Cooling System: Effective cooling solutions are essential to maintain performance during long gaming sessions. Look for laptops with good thermal management.
Battery Life: Gaming laptops typically have shorter battery life, but aim for one that offers decent longevity (4-6 hours) for non-gaming tasks.
Build Quality and Portability: Consider the weight and build quality if you plan to carry the laptop frequently. A sturdy design is important for durability.
