TL;DR
Using the Novo Button
Many Lenovo laptops feature a small "Novo" button that can be pressed with a pin to enter the BIOS menu. This is often located on the side of the laptop and is specifically designed for accessing BIOS without needing to use keyboard shortcuts [2:2]
[2:5]. If your laptop has this button, it is typically a reliable method to access BIOS.
Keyboard Shortcuts
For those without a Novo button or who prefer using keyboard shortcuts, pressing certain keys repeatedly during startup can also work. Common keys include F1, F2, F10, and F12 [4:1]
[5:1]. Some users have found success by holding down these keys or pressing them repeatedly even before anything appears on the screen
[5:2].
Bluetooth Keyboard Issues
If you're using a Bluetooth keyboard, it might not connect in time during boot-up to register key presses for entering BIOS. One user found that pressing the camera button worked for their Lenovo Yoga Book [1:1]. Alternatively, using a wired keyboard could solve connectivity issues during startup.
Adjusting BIOS Settings
Once you manage to enter BIOS, there may be settings that allow you to adjust how long the system waits for key presses during boot. Increasing this wait time can make it easier to access BIOS in future attempts [5:3].
Alternative Methods via Windows
For users running Windows, another method involves restarting the computer through the operating system. By clicking the start button, then power, and holding shift while clicking restart, you can navigate to options related to UEFI setup menus [3:1]. This can be a more straightforward option if you're already logged into Windows.
Hi,
Anyone had this issue before, I am trying to enter the BIOS in my lenovo Yoga Book 9 13IMU9, but I tried f2, f12 , fn plus f2 , and many other keys, but no success.
I am using a bluetooth keyboard, I suspect this could be the issue, that the keyboard is not connected in the boot up process.
Thank you very much for any comment or tip...
found the solution is the camera button :) strange but works ...
when i was cleaning my laptops keyboard i pressed a random combination of buttons and got this menu. i didnt press the power button either, so what i did couldnt have been power+ f2 f2 f2.
what did i press? (the laptop was shut down at the time)
its not the powerbutton its a small button besides usually. nothing to worry about...
there are two ways to enter the bios that i know of.
i did none of theese two ways, all i did was press a random combination of keys on the keyboard. yet i got to the menu.i want to know what i pressed
Oh my I never knew what the lil hole was for thank you so much
Well, I don't think there is a specific button combination to enter bios or novo menu when the pc is booted except for the novo button.
So I have no idea(pad)(*pun) , sorry, but good luck finding out anyways!
I know this is 3yo but the best method is to repeatedly press both F1 and F2 works every time better than wasting time especially on HDD

Thanks man!
God bless your soul thank you so much
Life saver!
Legend, thanks bro!
Only pressing Enter on the ThinkPad T14s 6th Gen (snapdragon) works.

Hi,
Trying to boot my new Ideapad L340 gaming laptop into bios to change boot order (in order to boot from ubuntu usb drive).
I work with software development, and spent 20 minutes on google without success in finding the magical ritual one needs to perform.
To Lenovo: Are you serious?
And can somebody help me out please?

Thank you
For any laptop, just google for your model code and service manual. Most major manufacturers have service manuals on their website. If you have a Novo button, that should be fine.
If you're on windows, you can click on start button, then power, then while pressing shift and click on restart.
Then navigate through to option saying something along the lines of UEFI setup menu or options.
How to enter the BIOS on a Lenovo computer?
When the pc is turning on press f12 or f10 it should work
Good evening,
I have a Lenovo Thinkbook and I really struggle to enter the Bios. I know it’s the button F1 but usually I really need 15-20 attempts to enter the Bios which is so annoying as it takes around 10 minutes to enter bios in general. Did anyone else experience this and in case yes, do you have any tips to solve this? I would really appreciate some tips, the F1 button is working fine - I can use it to mute the sound and it works on every click, so it cannot be that. Or otherwise, my notebook is 2 years old so I really cannot imagine the “timeframe” of being able to click F1 while booting is less than 0.1 seconds.
There's generally a setting in the BIOS that allows you to adjust how long it waits for F1 on boot. Next time you get in, see if you can find it - then set it to about 5 seconds.
I will try this next, thank you!
Alternatively, just keep hitting the button repeatedly even before anything shows up on your screen after power on or after a restart.
Here’s an easy way to get in: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/access-bios-windows-10
You can also just hold down f1 until it pops up I’m pretty sure
I need to do boot the flash drive but the boot is disabled so i clicked on the novo button for entre to the bios , but front me a big problem when i select a choice it doesn't care about my choice and start windows normally .
I repeat again and again with external keyboard and without but the same problem repeated .
If you select to boot off the flash drive and it goes into regular windows, there is an issue with how your flash drive was built, it is not bootable. It probably isn't UEFI compatible. You can use Rufus to make a UEFI one, or temporarily change your bios to allow booting from legacy devices and see if the USB will boot then.
It is a librebootet system. Libreboot is a substitute for the Bios.
Can confirm, that's an older version of Libreboot. I sell Librebooted machines heh.
Thats a librebooted BIOS, an open source BIOS replacement. It can be a tricky process so people often flip librebooted laptops for a profit. You can install a linux distro on it.
The drive was probably encrypted just because thats what a lot of security nerds do. You can probably just wipe it.
that is an awesome acquisition
libreboot bios

Reboot PC and press f2
If it doesn't work, you probably have to wait a bit more or less before pressing it; it should be right as it starts turning on

What key are you pressing?
The boot menu is usually F12 / delete
Bios is usually F1 / F2
OR you might have a little novo button on the side of your laptop. If that's the case, press it with tip of a pen and it should boot into bios.
Edit: sorry, just watched the video till the end, really don't know what's happening here
I didn't press any key, it automatically enters this screen and even pressing F2 to enter the bios does not work
OK “I solved it”, I opened the computer and disconnected the hdd after that I took another computer and booted windows using ventoy (with rufus it didn't work), after that I entered the “system recovery” from the point where the needle enters the right side of my computer and finally I went to repair your computer>troubleshoot>UEFI FIRMWARE>security>secure boot(disabled)>boot>boot mode(UEFI)
I own a Lenovo Ideapad 320 - 14lKB Laptop, and whenever I try to open the BIOS, be it by pressing the NOVO button or pressing F2, I always get an extremely simple BIOS where I can't configure anything other than the most basic settings.
My BIOS version is 4WCN43WW which I belive is the latest one
If anyone has any advice I'd be really grateful.
I have Ideapad 320 15-IKB, I have a quite normal bios, with Hyperthreading options, but no voltage and clock speed tweaks, I think Lenovo just decided to put a less feature-packed bios on their cheaper laptops.
But one time I opened the bios and it (magically) opened up the complete "unlocked" BIOS with hyper threading, clock speed and voltage options. I have no idea what I did differently that one time.
Maybe your BIOS got updated so they might've added/removed some options.
