TL;DR Yes, Netflix is available on LG Smart TVs, but availability may vary depending on the model and age of the TV. For older models where the app is no longer supported, using a streaming stick or device is recommended.
Netflix Availability on LG TVs
Netflix is generally available on LG Smart TVs, especially those running on webOS, which supports a wide range of streaming apps including Netflix [2:1]. However, users with older LG TV models have reported issues with Netflix, such as the app being stuck in an update loop or disappearing entirely
[3:1]
[4:1]. This is likely due to discontinued support for older software versions
[4:2].
Troubleshooting Netflix on LG TVs
For users experiencing issues with the Netflix app on their LG TVs, some have found success by reloading the app through settings or performing a power cycle by unplugging the TV [3:2]
[3:5]. If these solutions do not work, it might be necessary to use an external streaming device like Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, or Roku to access Netflix
[4:3].
Alternatives for Older LG TVs
If Netflix is no longer supported on your LG TV, purchasing a streaming stick or box can be a cost-effective solution. Devices like the Amazon Fire Stick, Roku, or Google Chromecast can provide access to Netflix and other streaming services, ensuring continued usability of your TV [4:7]
[4:8].
Conclusion
While Netflix is widely available on newer LG Smart TVs, owners of older models may face challenges due to discontinued app support. In such cases, utilizing a third-party streaming device is a practical workaround to continue enjoying Netflix and other streaming services.

Honestly, the streaming week looks stacked, like the movies, gaming, even random stuff like karaoke and Baby Shark. If you had this on your TV, which one would you actually use the most? I feel like Iâd end up on the Disney+ or hulu bundle a lot.
thatâs quite a range of offers across movies, music, and gaming. Seems like thereâs something for most types of viewers
LG really went all out this time đ Movies, music, games, and kidsâ stuff feels like thereâs something for everyone. That Disney+ deal though⌠yes please!
Yeah, I noticed that too! I like how theyâre trying to cover different interests instead of just focusing on one thing. The Disney+ deal is definitely a nice bonus especially if youâve got kids or just enjoy rewatching the classics.â
Totally! đ I love that theyâre thinking of everyone makes it way more exciting to check out all the perks. That Disney+ bundle really is a win for families and nostalgia fans alike!
kinda cool how theyâve got options for different setups like small portable speakers, bigger home ones, and even earbuds. the discounts make it tempting, especially if youâve been waiting to upgrade your sound without spending too much
This is nice
Which apps can i possibly download to watch series and sports games on a lg smart tv?
Apple, Netflix, Amazon etc
It has been 4 days since my Netflix app has been stuck in âupdatingâ on the LG webOS store. Is anyone else having this problem? I donât have a fire stick/rocku. So donât know if Netflix is working on those platforms. Thanks for reading and have a great day.
What worked for me is going to settings or âget helpâ on the Netflix app and reload it
How do i reload an App that freezes when trying to open it? (Serious question. App stopped today, kids canât watch their favorite series)
I swear mine has never worked.. I havenât used this tv in a while but when it used to be in my living room in a previous apt I think I connected a Firestick bc the apps on this tv donât work. Now itâs in my bedroom & reminding me why it was unused for the last few yrs đ
I disconnected my TV and finally downloaded today!
what do you mean with "disconnected"? remove plugin, remove internet?
Unplugged tv from outlet.
42la620s-az firmware
now that "netflix will no longer be supported on the device" message has appear on my LG TV
it's a old tv of abt 10 years
You get any streaming stick
Amazon Fire TV
Apple TV
Google TV
Roku
is there an alternate solution? when i first got the tv it had netflix on it, it just now recently disappeared
Maybe Netflix stopped support for old TVs like this.
I doubt it. If it's an older smart TV, software support will have been discontinued.
It's no longer supported. Spend $20 on a HD streaming stick
onn box is like $20 and gets you Google TV system with all the apps
Have you uppdatering the software?
Can you redownload apps with the plus sign? I have a bravia with the same interface and I can click the plus symbol and install new apps
Itâs always better to get something else to steam on. Apps sometimes donât get updated on TVs. Software sometimes is buggy. Wifi cards stop working and then working gain 1 year later. Happens all the time.
Ye pg wala tv hai na?
I think you have to set it up
LG smart tv's have been sold by the millions in the US. Why should customers have to use a third party app/stick (Roku, Chromecast, etc.) to access Spectrum cable services instead of downloading the app like every other streaming service? There has to be a reason for this. Does anyone know what that reason is? I just don't get it.
LG uses WebOS. If the app works on Android TV boxes, get one of those. Make sure it's compatible with Netflix and/or has Chromecast built in, not necessarily to use those features but that ensures that it has Google's stamp of approval.
The answer is because Money⌠either spectrum was paid/sold to keep the apps within a certain few ecosystems or they refuse to pay to have it developed for LG
Blame LG for not carrying the app. Simple as that.
Because you touch yourself at night
The answer is simple. LG and Spectrum couldn't come to an agreement. The Spectrum TV app is carried by companies who have a contract with Spectrum. At one point Roku and Spectrum couldn't come to an agreement and for a short time it was taken off of Roku TVs. Of course they eventually did come to an agreement, because some customers only have Roku's to watch Spectrum TV, because it's the cheapest option if you do not have a compatible device already. Roku customers complained to Roku and viola, it was back on. If LG customers did the same, then it would happen the same way. Trust me, the more devices are supported, the more money Spectrum makes. LG just won't carry the app. It's all about money.
Hi
Just wondering how difficult this would be without having to use the tv as a pc mon like nordvpn recommended.
So my landlord has a router and i cant ask him to change his vpn settings, i am connected to that router via a wireless access point. Will it be impossible to watch american netflix in lg smart tv in europe like this?
Thanks
Looking for the best Netflix VPN? Check out the wiki! https://www.reddit.com/r/NetflixViaVPN/wiki/index

Your tv needs to be connected to the VPN for this to work. You need a middle man device to connect to your internet and host the VPN, then connect your tv to it. There are raspberry pi devices and routers that can do this.
Thanks bro!!
If you have desktop-pc lying around or with raspberry devices, you can install NordVPN on them and share the internet. Make your LG tv connect to that shared network.
Here are the instructions. https://support.nordvpn.com/Connectivity/Windows/1441319672/Share-VPN-via-a-mobile-hotspot-on-Windows-10.htm
Get maximum out of your vpn by checking out the movies missing in your country but streaming in other countries.
I have the Netflix subscription for 4 screens and 4k HDR streaming. My internetspeed is about 50 Mbps which should be enough since on the website it says you need 25 Mbps. Nobody else is using our internet connection so it's not because someone's hogging up my bandwidth. Besides, I can stream 4k content fine on YouTube without any buffering. The LG TV supports 4k and before clicking a show, it says "Ultra HD 4K" in the top which means it should work. I have also changed my playback settings to "High" in my account settings, although I'm not sure if this changes the setting across all devices universally?
I've done everything I should, but when pressing the "info" button on my TV remote, it still says "Screen: 4.87 Mbps / 1080". Any suggestions on how to fix this?
How do you understand, if you're streaming 4K or HD? I'd like to find out too. I don't know if I'm watching 4K or HD.
Depends on what device you're netflixing on. On my LG smart TV, I simply press the info button on my remote while watching a show and in the top left of the screen it will say "Screen: 3.83 Mbps / 1080" for me in which case it means I'm watching in 1080p. When watching Sense 8, for some reason it does play in 4k and it'll say "Screen: 15.87 Mbps / 2160" so 2160p, aka 4k.
usually it takes about 30 to 45 seconds for it to ramp all the way up to 4K. If you waited that long and you still don't get anything higher than 1080p then you should make sure your TV has the latest firmware update. If that doesn't fix it then look up the model number on the TV and go to AVSforum to find the owner's thread to see if anyone else has the same problem. Sounds like an LG app update problem
I contacted Netflix directly and they told me to test with Sense 8, there it did say 2160p. But with Peaky blinders, La Casa de Papel and Breaking Bad, they all said 1080p. Even after 30 minutes of watching...
Well I can tell you that peaky blinders and breaking bad were both shot at 1080p (then aired at 1080i for traditional broadcast television) so anything that says 4K is just some bullshit upscaling which all 4K TVs already upscale everything anyway. I can see how it's frustrating to see the logo and not get 4K though especially when you don't know what format the show was originally shot in. Anyway make sure your firmware is up to date and check AVSforum as I previously suggested. If all else fails try a different streaming platform like plug in a roku stick or a firetv stick or trying an xbox or playstation

Basically, there is nothing you can do about this - it is down to Netflix and their unreliable CDNs. They deliberately downgrade your connection, for their convenience and cost-saving (to stop their CDN to use up lots of bandwidiths to deliver content to you).
Suggest you to downgrade your 4K package to HD package since most of contents on netflix are HD (1080p / 720p).
And Netflix put both Smart TV (and its apps) and PC as lowest priority for their development. They prefer to focus on developing their apps on mobile devices. If you must need to watch 4K contents - I suggest you to use your mobile device to download netflix app and then download your contents in 4K or HD, and then you cast it over to your TV. That way, you can watch contents in 4K or HD without worrying about having NEtflix to downgrade your connections or deliver sub-HD contents to your smart tv.
Noticed this morning, that dolby vision has disappeared for content that has had it previously this morning. Tried a reboot and factory reset but I canât seem to restore it. Other apps like Disney plus have it. Any ideas?
Turning off test participation in netflix account online works for me on my B7.
Hey guys, someone in another thread figured out a fix. Turn off "Test participation" in your account settings. I had to reset my TV as well, but this worked.
That 100% worked on my LG B7!
Why in the world would this work? Not sure I care as long as it works! Carry on!
THIS WORKED! Thanks!
That worked. Would never have thought to check, thank you all for the assist. Very strange
Very random...and strange indeed.
is fxkng working on b7 thankssssss
Where can I find 'Test participation' in the LG account settings? I couldn't find account settings at all?
I would like to confirm. After dealing with this for weeks with my LG OLED E7P. Talking to Netflix customer service, them telling me that there was something wrong with my television meanwhile Vision still worked fine on all other apps, they told me to contact LG. I thought that was stupid being it still worked fine in LG and other apps and it was and a Netflix problem, but I went ahead and contacted LG. They told me the same thing, it's Netflix problem contact them. I read the thing on here about going to the Netflix website, going to settings, test participation, and setting it to "off."
I did that, and magic! My Doby Vision programming has returned to all my Netflix shows on the LG app! Shame on Netflix for real! Best of luck everyone! But make sure you turn off "test participation" in your Netflix settings on the site!
What's something that has Dolby vision on Netflix I'll give it a try, I've got a C2.
Ozark, Stranger Things
Mines the same pal, must have been latest update. Works fine through Xbox app though
I have tried restarting my tv, checking for updates, disconnecting and reconnecting to the 5g WiFi, opening other shows but nothing is working. It just keeps spinning and I eventually give up each time when itâs like at 24% after a couple of minutes. Is anyone else having this same issue??
Not et so far no problem
What modem do you have. This happens on my eero all the time and I have to go to the app to turn netflix on. In my case its a family member doing it remotely to piss me off.
Would someone be able to advise me how to approach the issue that my parentsâ tv turns Netflix on every time they switch the tv on? They just want to watch a regular tv and not Netflix. Both parents are elderly and have difficulties with changing it themselves.
This is weird because my CX (and C6 and B7) all go to the last input (HDMI 1, 2, TV, etc.) but wonât go to Netflix or YouTube on startup (unless I use the Netflix button.)
But I want it to start on YouTube and havenât found a way to do this.
Are they hitting the netflix button on the remote? With my tv off, if I hit the netflix button it turns on the TV and goes right to netflix
Check this setting⌠Settings >General> System > Additional Settings> Home Settings> Power On Screen
Man, you are a genius - after owning an LG C1 for two and half years, I have finally managed to turn off those pesky ads on powering the unit. I honestly thought it's impossible. ;-)
Thank you so much...
Not OP but thank you!
Pretty sure it returns to the last used input/app as a convenience. Turn on the homescreen startup setting to avoid it
If you don't exit the Netflix app before turning off the TV, it will open back up to Netflix when you power back on.
I always know when my wife watches Netflix before b d due to this.
is netflix available on lg tvs
Key Considerations:
Compatibility: Most LG Smart TVs come with the Netflix app pre-installed. If you have a newer model (2014 and later), you should be able to access Netflix without any issues.
Operating System: LG TVs run on webOS, which supports Netflix. Ensure your TV's firmware is up to date for the best performance and access to the latest features.
Internet Connection: A stable internet connection is required to stream Netflix. Make sure your TV is connected to Wi-Fi or via Ethernet for optimal streaming quality.
Account Requirements: You need a Netflix subscription to access content. Ensure your account is active and you have the necessary login credentials.
Takeaway: If you have a relatively recent LG Smart TV, you should have no trouble accessing Netflix. If the app is not visible, you can download it from the LG Content Store. If you encounter issues, check your internet connection and ensure your TV's software is updated.
