When choosing an e-bike suitable for a tall rider, especially someone who is 6'8", it's crucial to consider frame size, wheel size, and the overall fit of the bike. Here are some insights and recommendations based on discussions from various sources:
Frame Size and Fit
For very tall riders, finding an appropriate frame size can be challenging. Many standard bike shops do not stock frames larger than 61 cm [2:1]. However, some brands like Trek offer larger sizes such as the Emonda in a 64 cm frame, which might provide a better fit for someone around 6'8"
[2:12]. It's essential to try different sizes if possible, as even a 61 cm frame may not be comfortable for someone who is 6'10"
[2:3].
Specific E-Bike Models for Tall Riders
Several specific models and brands have been recommended for taller individuals:
Custom and Specialized Options
For those willing to invest more, custom bikes or specialized brands like Dirtysixer, which makes bikes specifically for very tall individuals, could be a viable option [2:7]. However, these options tend to be more expensive and may require a significant investment.
Considerations for Modifications
While some suggest modifying an XL frame with longer seat posts or stems, others argue that a bike purpose-built for a tall rider will provide a much better experience [3:4]. It's important to ensure that any modifications don't compromise the bike's performance or your comfort.
Additional Recommendations
If you're considering a DIY approach, you might look into building a bike with larger wheels, such as 32” or 36”, although this option is less common and can be costly [5:5]. Alternatively, exploring Dutch bike manufacturers could be beneficial, as they often design bikes for taller riders
[5:8].
In summary, while finding the perfect e-bike for someone who is 6'8" can be challenging, exploring larger frame sizes, considering custom options, and being open to modifications can help you find a bike that fits comfortably and meets your needs.
My mom has had her T-Mobile One Plan since it launched in 2016. I ported from Verizon from paying $80 to $25 on a T-Mobile multi family account. Thinking of getting the $15 upgrade to have full HD. Despite the data breaches the truth is all companies are prone to selling personal data. In this day age regardless of carrier anyone is prone to identity theft.
T-Mobile is a honest company and the wireless network has grown consistently and really has been using profits to improve, invest and maintain assets. No complaints.
What plan do you use? If you changed plans did you regret it?
T-Mobile honest ? Lmfaooo. They all aren't but T-Mobile IS NOT honest. You sound like a sheep.
i use the T-Mobile One plan and they are not honest. They are liars.
Price Lock a lie. Raised each line $5 a month
Netflix on Us a lie. No ads that came with sign up paid for now $10.50 a month.
I haven’t changed but I tell anybody thinking about getting them not to believe a word they say.
T-Mobile’s entire game is to be a virtual status symbol.
As the company grew I did notice the offsets. In terms of honesty they bought Sprint, invested in the infrastructures and improved the coverage. Faster than any other carrier.
I’m on the Tmobile one. No $5 per line raises here.
If you want the coverage in the network, save yourself some money and switch to Google fi or you can pick your own T-Mobile MVMO but you'll get the same level of service with Google fi that you get with T-Mobile for a less price. I just left T-Mobile after over 16 years
I changed my family's plan from OnePlan to Go5G+. No regrets at all. Unlimited data without being deprioritized, higher hotspot limit (from OnePlan's non-existent hotspot) and being able to stream in 4K (honestly just 1080p is great on mobile) made it all worth it. Not to mention that we now get phone upgrade promos... we were already in a cycle of upgrading every 2-3 years without getting a promo for it.
We did the same exact thing a month ago, pricing was similar, so no real downside that I could see. I did confirm everything with like 5 different T-force reps before deciding to take the plunge. I travel for work and the extra roaming data and hotspot really seems to help out there.
Lmaooooooo ok shill. That's why T-Mobile is the SLOWEST for me in NYC. Verizon is faster and more consistent. But bahh sheep.
As far as I know they stopped offering the plan internally. You might have luck with T-Force, but I'm pretty sure Magenta Max is the better of the two plans anyway, so I wouldn't switch.
All major cell phone companies are not honest in anyway lol 😂
Our bill went up $40. We have 3 lines (paid) and one free.
Several years ago T-Mobile was significantly cheaper than other carriers. I remember Verizon being over $90/mo with taxes and fees for a single line.
I like to compare prices for cell phone plans on a yearly basis and noticed that there doesn't seem to be a big price difference anymore. And actually, T-Mobile appears to be more expensive than other carriers.
For a single line with BYOD, Verizon's Ultimate Plan is $50, AT&T's Unlimited Premium plan is $85, and T-Mobile's Go5G Plus is $90/mo. A lot of people can get a discount through their employer to make AT&T cheaper.
Am I missing something or is this actually the case? Verizon and AT&T will charge taxes and fees, so maybe add another $5-10 to the cost.
If you only have a single line, you're probably way better off going with an MVNO (unless you are a heavy user off the extra benefits that come with the carrier "unlimited" plans).
BTW, T-Mobile Magenta is still available for $70/month.
I recently came back to T-Mobile. I have T-Mobile magenta 55+. Two lines for $70 a month. That breaks down to $35 per line.
If you can go with 55+ plans there is significant savings
Although beware T-Mobile MVNOs don’t give first party data prioritization. Maybe Fi does? Mint definitely doesn’t. Visible+ and US Mobile do, both on Verizon.
I used to be prepaid but I really use the international roaming because I travel frequently abroad. I use it at least once a month. Of course I could buy a local SIM but sometimes I'm only there for a few days and it's kind of a hassle. I have an insider discount so I pay around $68/mo with Magenta Max. I'm happy with my service but it's always nice to shop around. I'm considering AT&T because they offer some great discounts for trading in and also there is a discount with having fiber with them.
Metro oe cricket is the way to go
For single line att is the best. T-Mobile has most expensive plan.
Hey, I’m pretty sure the Unlimited Ultimate with VZ is $75 + Tax. Since the BYOD credit is $540/36 months which is $15 discount each month.
Came to comment this, Verizon and AT&T show their line prices at 4 lines per line. When you choose a single line it’s more. And taxes can be quite significant.
They are sneaky about that. T-Mobile and AT&T allow you to select the number of lines and adjust the price based on that. I don't see that Verizon has the ability on their website.
I started to go through the checkout and the Unlimited Ultimate is actually $100/mo.
TMib8ke is just like any other greedy corporation. I have been a customer for 15 yrs and some months I have to choose whether I pay my phone bill or eat.
They jack my bill up every month. Promised 165 am being charged 220. Def an issue.
I think so for my 13 lines my bill is 400 dollars I am glad taxes and fees are included don’t wanna think how much that saves me. So T-Mobile is very ahead write there. Other than pricing is about the same.
What is the speed like?
They got rid of all tax included plans for customers signing up as of yesterday. The currently available offer is $15 a month tax excluded (and if you sign up, I would like to know what the taxes look like, because they aren't supposed to be taxing data only lines per the Internet Tax Freedom Act so I'm curious if they are just charging their cost recovery fee, which isn't technically a tax and is allowed).
Speeds are the same as any other QCI 6 data on T-Mobile for the first 50GB and then it has unlimited at QCI 9 after.
Which plan is that can you share the link ?
Funny thing is that I posted it earlier in a second comment and Reddit appears to have removed it.
To get this plan go to the T-Mobile website, click Business at the top. Go to Devices and click Cell Phones. Then on the left, click Bring your own device. From there choose SIM (if you choose eSIM it won't let you activate without a valid tablet IMEI - just get the physical SIM and when it arrives you can use the business portal to convert it to an eSIM if necessary). On the next page click tablet and then hit select at the bottom to add it to the cart (the IMEI field is not required). You'll see $15 TE plan listed on the next page.
If you don't have a personal T-Mobile account you can use your SSN to sign up. If you already have a personal account you'll have to have an EIN or have them convert it to business for you.
The Broadband Fact sheet says there's a Telco recovery fee of $1.70 and an additional fee for Texas of .o749%
Yeah but it also says government taxes and there shouldn't be any period.
At least the fee isn't $3.49/$3.99 like it is for postpaid phones.
Wait, was the extra streaming pass, for higher quality streaming with less throttling, available only on the TI plan? Does it mean it's now gone?
You can get the plan by going here, choosing tablet, and then hitting the select button at the bottom to add it to the cart. You'll see the $15 plan on the list of options (it's no longer the default selected one).

The $10 plan no longer offered? I still have 2 months of Network Pass remaining. Lemme see if I need it now, or I can get by. I’ll ask later down the road for it, if I need it. Thanks as always, Ethrem.
The $10 plan has technically been grandfathered for years. It wasn't supposed to be given out anymore.
I got hit by the fraud department... lol had to go to the store.
Was the local store able to add the $10 TE plan for you? Was it a corp store, or authorized retailer?
I was lucky enough to sign up at the beginning of the month for this plan
Is it the 25 BYOD deal? Or ultra mobile?
Seconded.
There is a workaround to add hotspot (with a custom APN) for Android devices on the Metro $25 plan. So for $25, w/hotspot, it’s a killer deal.
I could never get that to work on pixel
interesting
Excellent answer but may I add that if you are travelling internationally then Mint. $20 every 10 days overseas for 10 GB of data and unlimited text and calling.
Not MVNOs but the mothership.
Find a Group plan for the big voice plan if you need that, like Go5G Plus Up, I pay $40
Home Internet also true unlimited a bit cheaper
Backup version even cheaper, limited to 130GB
Curious. Why TMobile?
I moved from Tmo to project Genesis and have hit 500gb with no problem.
Also Crickets everything more plus has shown usage of a gig with no throttling.
In the city I’m in TMobile is king, my signal drops down to LTE at home with Verizon rn smh
surprised no one has mentioned /r/Tello yet
Metro $25 unlimited plan!! I believe this plan is one of the best especially because it uses tmobile towers.
T-Mobile One, T-Mobile One Essentials. Both are on the website
Military, Business
So I’m on the simple choice North America plan, and it’s awesome! Yet seeing magenta essentials for $15 more for 3 lines is tempting! I am tired of 2gbs of data , yet barely hit 3 gbs so getting the 6gb data pass is gratuitous when my whole family can just get unlimited data for the same price. All three of us usually hit 2gbs so it would be nice to upgrade, so that’s not the issue. But, my mom takes trips to Mexico every year and loves high speed data, texting, and calling us to check in.
Is congestion on essentials terrible? Is there a change to calling and texting to Mexico and while in Mexico different? And over all , would you rather stay with SCNA plan if you were in my shoes?
Reviews are mixed on the essentials and this sub reddit has been amazing! Thank you :)
There is a $10 tier that is 3GB (with BingeOn) that you might talk a rep into adding to only the lines that need it.
Essentials is deprioritized almost always. That means if a regular T-Mobile or MetroPCS customer were to be using the network, you'd probably be getting 25% of their speeds. Essentials' prioritization is right above the MVNOs (which isn't good). If anything go with Magenta or higher.
My area has bad service as it is, I can’t imagine having to deal with always lowered speeds. I’ll look into magenta :) thank you!
No problem! I'm glad to have been able to help :)
So Mint and starting August 20, US Mobile will have a sale on their annual Tmobile networks plans. Mint will end up costing $7 more than US Mobile light speed.
Any major differences between the two plans? I don’t see myself using more than 70 gigs a month.
This is a copy of the OP's original post in case they decide to delete their post/account so that others searching can find it later:

I'm actually contemplating the exact same 2 plans. The major difference I see is Mint has "your data may be deprioritized, leading to potentially slower speeds during network congestion." Which means it could still be blazing fast if you're on a tower that's not congested even past 70 gb
With US Mobile once you reach 70 gb your speeds are throttled to 1 megabit for the duration of that month.
I don't think I've ever come close to using 70gb, but if I did one month I would rather be deprioritized instead of dropped with a throttle, but I'm still trying to figure out which plan I'm going to go with.
New customers on us mobile also face slower QC something starting the twentieth from what I've read. Existing customers are not affected.
That’s only for new customers on Unlimited Starter on Warp (Verizon). On Light Speed (T-Mobile), all plans have the same priority level as Mint.
The other major difference is that you could theoretically switch between networks if need be. You also get some international roaming with the annual plan (1gb). You could also add on another network. Mint might have some domestic roaming that light speed just won’t (but you could move over to dark star for a period of time if you need that).
Yea the ability to switch between network is an interesting feature especially for travel between different states.
in a similar situation, what did you decide ?
I might go for US Mobile. Just waiting for the plan deal to come up.
Just ditched Verizon and switched to T-Mobile so they'd pay off devices. Now looking to cut my bills even further by switching to an MVNO. Requirements/preferences are listed below. I was thinking US Mobile's 5GB shared plan for $23/month. Just trying to see if there is anything better at the moment.
Stay with T-Mobile's network
I have 2 lines I need to bring (both are unlocked)
We don't use very much data <5GB/month between the two of us
Mostly just looking for reliable service. I can't remember the last time I needed tech support so that's not a big deal to me either.
Don't care about hotspot. I've used it once in my life.
Don't need an upgraded phone at the moment. We both have iPhone 14 Pro's that work just fine.
US Mobile is great and I doubt there is a better priced plan out there.
There is, mint mobile has a year for $15 a month unlimited right now.
I saw this, but there are still taxes and fees added. So I'd already be at $30/month for both lines plus whatever the taxes and fees work out to be.
Not necessarily worth it to me with our data needs being so little. Definitely worth the consideration if we did have higher data needs though.
I always forget about Mint...I do want to try them out sometime.
I hadn't come across a better price, but figured it was worth asking before I make the switch. Thank you for confirming!
Connect by T-Mobile at $15 plus taxes and fees, for unlimited talk/text and 5 GB of priority data per month, per line. This is a prepaid plan, so it works in a prepaid type of way for payment, where you add money to the account and then it deducts once a month. It's not better than US Mobile's pricing, it just gets you the ability to go in-store for support, domestic roaming, and priority data.
Is the $15/month for 2 lines or just one?
As I wrote at the end of the first sentence, "per line." Also it was implied that it isn't $15 for two lines by my commentary about how the pricing isn't better than US Mobile's pricing.
My suggestion if you go to US Mobile. Go to their Warp (Verizon) network with both lines before 8/18. Change to Lightspeed (T-Mobile) after 8/18. This will get you grandfathered in to priority data on Verizon, so if you want to switch back later, you dont have to pay extra for priority data.
That's a fair point. I don't see myself going back to Verizon . My house is in a Verizon deadspot somehow. Probably still worth doing though since we could move at some point lol
Helium. If you want to go bare bones, dual sim the free plan with TextNow. Unlimited talk, text, and 3gb data, all for free every month!
I use us mobile with 2gb shared data. Run over 2gb more often than not, but have auto top off. 2 dollars per gb and unused data rolls over. I average about 20 dollars per month for 2 lines, taxes and fees included. No issues.
I was with T-Mobile for the last 8 years. I was always on the best plan with 4k streaming activated. I used on average maybe 8-10 gb per month. Since switching to USMobile I have gone through 14gb in 10 days. What would the difference be? I have done a few speed tests but I also did with T-Mobile so I am confused 🤔. Did T-Mobile maybe throttle that hard and I didn't notice?
We can get spoil with the old tmobile plans because of a feature called bingon I think. And basically makes that streaming won't count towards data. Not sure if it still exist.
If your cellular data setting has 5G on vs Auto that will use more. Cellular settings will also break down usage by app.
Hmm yeah, speed tests can burn through a lot of data, especially if you're on 5G. That could explain things. Also, maybe check if you’ve got Wi-Fi Assist on or some apps running only on cellular. And have you checked which apps are using the most data? Sometimes stuff like that just quietly adds up without you noticing.
Yeah it matches. I'll just have to mind myself better with my data. Thanks for the reply though!
Video quality (bitrate and resolution) may be have been throttled on your old plan but uncapped on US Mobile so you will use more data on video and social media sites on US Mobile. You can manually set quality/data use on each app/website to lower to lower data usage - YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Netflix, etc. I also turn off autoplay of all videos on social media platforms as I’ll choose whether to play or not - this reduces data substantially if you find yourself scrolling short form video a lot (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter/X, Reddit, Facebook, Snapchat, etc)
