for black the interior has to be black as well. additionally, "Drivers using Uber Black must be professional drivers with commercial auto insurance (personal auto insurance does not qualify) and have all permits required by their city to operate a commercial livery vehicle in their area."

Black introduces several new expenses to cover, so I'd thoroughly research demand in your market prior to making the move.

As for Black, My car qualifies, I have my chauffeur license and commercial insurance. I do that not for Uber but because I have my own LLC and drive my private clients.

if i have a 2022 nissan maxima with black leather seats and heated rear seats with extended leg room and 20% tints that i got a doctors note for, and i have all the license requirements and professional requirements all done would i qualify for uber black? please genuine answers it’s a newer model with custom trim and lights professionally done. if it isn’t what would i have to do to the car to make it qualify? only reason why i ask was because the year wasn’t put on the list. so i’m not too sure if i qualify or not. also i have subwoofers that i had professionally installed in the trunk that i can turn off and on with a button if having them on would be a problem. sorry for the long read i just don’t want to go through the whole application process if its a pretty big chance ill be declined. it’s just crazy to me i bought it when the car was released in 2022 and i bought it for 37k and have put at least 10k in modifications that are street legal so its not like its just some beater i feel like it is a luxury car.

Comfort is well worth it. Sometimes it’s only a dollar or two more, but the cars are newer, cleaner, and the drivers arrive faster. Today I happen to take UberX for the first time in a while and noticed the difference. The drivers are for both are friendly and everything, so it’s not that at all. UberX now feels more like a taxi, while Uber Comfort feels more like a car service.

Comfort doesn’t have a fraction what uber X was when I first started using it frequently in 2018. Comfort drivers where I am are only a fraction less grumpy and unfriendly than X and the cars are only a bit better.

I guess it really depends on the area. I’ve been noticing Comfort has been nicer, cleaner, and faster especially compared to how UberX feels now. The comfort driver also always ask me about the temperature and is never on their phone with my comfort ride. Almost never am I ask me about temperature with X and sometimes on their phone talking.

Then you are lucky. X is bad but comfort isn’t great. I have had drivers blast music, speed, be rude and impatient etc. And I had to set my temperature preferences because many drivers closed their windows with no AC on a hot day.

I really don’t like comfort much but then again I am an an uber assist passenger and the difference between assist and comfort is night and day.

Only in my market am I forced to take these trash x rides that don't pay or I won't be rewarded with Comfort requests. Uber shooting themselves in the face by not allowing me to set my lowest fare as comfort. I used to make more money before this stupid advantage mode change..

I didn’t even realize Uber Advantage Mode was a thing until you just mentioned it and I looked it up. I think it’s great actually. One of my biggest complaints to Uber over the last year or two has been wait times and cancellations. I’m not paying my Uber membership to have to wait forever on a slow night just because drivers don’t want to accept my trip. I’m glad Uber is listening and finding ways to encourage more trips and less cancellations.

The cars are not the same. They’re nicer, newer, cleaner with Uber Comfort. The last two Uber X rides I’ve taken within the last two days have had some sort of seat tape and just aren’t as nice. They’re fine but there’s a difference.

I only have around 30 trips currently with 100% Acceptance and 100% 5 Star, 0% Cancels.

I was curious on if I would just be allowed to access the Comfort market once I hit 100 trips, or if I would have to apply, also, with Black, where would I go to apply?

You won't get a lot of comfort trips. I have a comfort vehicle and it's less than 5% of my business. It's not like you'll be given all comfort trips.

Comfort trips should be available to you from day one if your vehicle meets the requirements.

Currently I have been considering getting a vehicle that qualifies for uber/lyft black.

Seeing as this is the passenger Uber subreddit. I wanted to know what cars have you ridden in and which ones you preferred and which one you disliked.

Those aren’t Uber Black cars. Definitely not a Prius. Tesla had some sneak in as Uber Premier which in “Select” markets can fetch close to Uber Black prices without commercial insurance but still need black and other qualifications but a Prius is definitely not one.

2018 Ford Taurus Limited (as in fully loaded) is the same car as a 2016 (last year manufactured) Lincoln MKS, guess who gets comfort rating. Total BS, had nothing but compliments about how comfortable the back seat is. Even has heated seats back there. I'm sure it's a bunch of 23 y/o turds that don't know dick about cars choosing the ratings. Somebody posted about a 3 series BMW they rode in that was anything but comfortable. Just because it says BMW doesn't mean it's big.

It’s winter. There’s limited tourists at the moment who all generally travel uber black. The drivers drop tiers to try and at least cover their costs. Locals are also just not out and about as much with this weather.

Preface:
In a Tesla, and noticed the APP changes this AM running my reservations. Only had COMFORT turned on last night, so COMFORT ELECTRIC was the default mode it went to.

I have only had 1 request this AM and it was because I was the only car on the road coming back from a 4:00 am Airport Drop off Reservation. 0 Requests after my 2nd reservation through 2 counties home from MCO at 8am. Map was lit up with SURGE so without any business on COMFORT ELECTRIC, you are FORCED to turn on other modes if you want rides.

ADVANTAGE MODE rolled out this AM, and with that, a deletion of both UBER X PRIORITY, and UBER COMFORT.
Uber COMFORT is now only offered as COMFORT ELECTRIC (which was there before), UBER GREEN (pays worse than UBER X because No DEMAND) and UBER X and SHARE are the only other tiers offered to Tesla drivers of the formerly Comfort Category.

So all you HYBRID Toyota and Honda guys are screwed too, Tesla renters are going to steal all the good X rides now that COMFORT is gone and XL hasn't had enough business to warrant even me staying in an SUV at these rates with a $300 per week fuel expense.

Passengers are going to hate it 100%.

i can only speak for my market, but Uber Comfort falls under UberX and there is no option to turn it ON or OFF.

The only time is when they actually order a Comfort ride. lately I have seen more Comfort ride requests and I am wondering if it has to do with the availability that the riders sees when looking for a ride.

Like a Comfort ride is closer in time so they just choose it. I really dont know unless you start doing a survey like asking "Why did you choose Comfort?"

Considerando que o Água Verde é relativamente próximo à Rodoviária, talvez seja mais garantido recorrer a um táxi. Provavelmente saia até mais barato que um Uber Black.

Como o amigo comentou aí, ele busca o motorista muito antes da tua viagem, e na minha experiência todos os motoristas já estavam indo pro ponto de embarque bem antes do horário marcado... Vale a pena pra não ficar na ansiedade se vai achar ou não, mas lembrar que tem uma taxa extra pra agendar

Sim, é bem tranquilo, e você pode agendar, inclusive eu até sugiro que você o faça. Assim fica tudo combinado, e você não corre risco de cancelamentos (eu nunca passei por isso, mas não uso muito Uber e quando uso, é apenas o Black, mas sempre ouvimos falar disso).

E se o Uber Black for bom mesmo, ele também irá te ajudar com as malas. E se você der sorte, nem sairá tão mais caro que o Uber X.

Galera, isso também tem acontecido com vocês? Os carros do uberX estavam muito ruins e colegas à minha volta recomendaram pedir o Comfort pois garantia uma qualidade melhor. Mas esse não tem sido o caso! Todos os últimos dessa categoria chegam bastante precários, salvo os motoristas que são gentis.

Pode isso? Só pra entender mesmo, compreendo as dificuldades que a classe encara também, mas é foda esperar e pagar por um carro limpo e vir algo fedidão e sujo.

Começa bom e barato, elimina a concorrência, controla o mercado, diminui qualidade dos serviços originais, e finalmente cobra um Premium pra ter o serviço como era antes só que numa nova categoria que custa muito mais caro que originalmente era mas também muito mais caro que o serviço que originalmente se propôs a substituir.

Basicamente , taxi tem uns problemas mas as tarifas são fixadas e em dias de chuva ou feriados etc normalmente sai mais barato e com mais conforto que um uber confort/x.

Cheguei de viagem em GRU semana retrasada e pedi um Uber Confort com temperatura do ar FRIA.
Veio um Fiat Fastback híbrido, novinho, como chovia muito, as janelas estavam fechadas, mas a motorista (era uma moça) não ligou o ar condicionado, pedi pra ela ligar porque estava abafado dentro do carro, ela ligou por 5 minutos, literalmente. Deu 5 minutos de uso do ar condicionado, ela desligou. Pode ser que pra ela, que está na frente do carro tenha refrescado, eu estava no banco traseiro do lado do passageiro, senti uma leve brisa.
Avaliei com 1 estrela.

Já contei essa história aqui, acho. Uns meses atrás, num desses dias super quentes, pedi um Comfort com ar condicionado e silêncio selecionados. Chegou um carro caindo aos pedaços, com som alto e todas as janelas abertas. Entrei pq estava atrasada, né. Tento ser sempre minimamente educada: Dou boa noite, coloco o sinto de segurança e trato a pessoa pelo nome. Nunca entro comendo nem bebendo nada e, se preciso do porta-malas, peço uber bag. Dei uns 5 minutos pro cara se adaptar (vai que ele não tinha lido que era Comfort) e daí pedi para ligar o ar condicionado, "por gentileza". Pra quê?

O cara ficou puto e falou que "Só ligava o ar se fosse Black"e também que "Hoje em dia passageiro é muito folgado". Eu sou uma mulher pequena e estava de noite, né, então tentei ser educada e responder algo tipo "Mas moço, eu pedi Comfort só por conta do ar condicionado, até porque tá 33 graus lá fora." O cara ficou mais puto ainda, parou o carro no meio do nada (lembrando que era de noite), me chamou de prostituta e me mandou descer. Eu desci, larguei a porta aberta, tirei uma foto da placa e denunciei pra Uber.

Foi a gota d'água pra mim. Agora se eu peço comfort e eles não atendem o que foi especificado, eu nem falo nada. Só avalio com 1 estrela no final e pronto.

Aconteceu algo muito parecido comigo em fevereiro, mas com a 99. Não fui reembolsado e ficou por isso mesmo. Agora tá na moda motorista expulsar passageiro porque eles são os alecrins dourados que entendem o que o cliente merece ou não, independente do que foi contratado. Não uso mais a 99, até desinstalei, e só peço uber taxi. Mas isso se não posso usar o transporte público, que passei a valorizar muito mais agora.
