Ok I’m obv a Jelly shipper and I’ve been thinking about smth. I think Belly should’ve chosen Conrad now as well. Because let’s be real, she can’t just suddenly be in love with Jeremiah in a span of 2/3 days after saying “ oh I love Conrad I’ll never love anyone like him”. Like yeah she’s attracted to Jeremiah and has some feelings but homegirl still has Conrad in her mind.

I wish she chooses Conrad now just like how Elena chose Stefan when she had to make the choice the first time around ( Stelena here lolz) and then after she chooses Conrad she has more moments with Jeremiah and realises how not compatible she is with Conrad and falls for Jere more so it sounds more believable that she’s deeply IN LOVE with Jere when she switches brothers for the final time. ( This is if they make jelly endgame which is in my dreams ) It won’t be as messy as it looks like right now. I also really hate the fact that I know what’s going to happen like I can’t NOT see the spoilers, they’re on twitter, reddit , instagram, TikTok, comment sections, you name it. I wanna watch something spontaneous.

And yeah thinking about it now, I think there’s a big possibility they get more than 3 seasons especially with how the fandom is actually growing , it’s keeping people on edge. Amazon prime isn’t known for milking their shows like the CW but I think they have an opportunity in their hands to give us more without ruining it. 5 seasons would be soo good tbh, don’t know if it’s that possible. But 4 seasons seems believable, especially since I heard that the third book was so rushed so it would be great to stretch it out a bit so the show doesn’t seem rushed.

I honestly wouldn’t even care ( yes I would, i want more eps ) if the show ended with 3 seasons. I just AM dreading them butchering Jeremiah’s character to make Bonrad endgame. Cz honestly Idgaf if belly ends up with Conrad. Not my personal preference and I love jelly and want them to be endgame. But if that’s what Jenny Han wants to put out, I’m onboard with it. It’s her story. I just don’t want to see my favourite character get hurt to justify the popular ship. So if they plan on doing that. I don’t even want Belly to get with Jeremiah at all tbh. Just let the poor dude move on. But that’s obv not gonna happen bc where’s the drama if they don’t emotionally put someone through heartbreak in these dramas lol.

I completely agree with this and the replies. If Jelly has even the smallest chance of being endgame, it wouldn't make sense for them to date now. We need the prolonged will they-wont they. And Belly needs to completely get over Conrad if we want her to be Jeremiah in the healthy way that he deserves.

If it was up to me I would make belly single for this season to recover from Conrad and then choose jere and that be her final decision. This flip flop is giving me whiplash

I mean it's obvious from s1 esp if you know these tropes. Bonrads story isn't anything knew it's been done in media many times

• slow mo when she sees him at the memorial for the first time
• bathtub scene (voiceover after too)
• kitchen fight (voiceover after)
• crying on the beach on her knees after he confessed his love and she had to turn him down because she was already marrying Jerry
• bonrad edit at the club to we can’t be friends
• telling Taylor he got her the unicorn, her mom, I’ve only ever pictured Conrad for the wedding 
• he always appears out of thin air when I’m thinking about him scene 
• answering YES to Jerry when he asks if she still loves Conrad effectively blowing up her entire life with this answer and she still said it
• crying silently as Conrad says goodbye and kisses her forehead 
• writing him back just to give him her new address

We don’t see them together like Christmas 2.0 or anything but this season has show us many times that she does love him. Yes, she isn’t acting on it because she was engaged to Jerry already and now in Paris is fresh off a canceled wedding, but it’s been made clear many times this season that she loves him. 

Omg the title is so funny but sooo true like I get there's a lot of glances and slo-mos from Belly this season but dammit its like the second or third last episodes of the entire show couldn't we get some inner thoughts or actual words from Belly atp??? I cant believe we will only get one declaration of love from Belly(if we even get that) the entire show.

At this point I just want Conrad to be happy. He keeps the Polaroid in his kitchen drawer and doesn’t even get a Christmas text from the girl he loves 😭 Connie be happy!

This could have worked if they actually spent the entire summer together but what we got in the show was little scenes here and there of them and then the majority was Belly trying to avoid Conrad. Like they spent more time apart than together that summer. Unlike in the books. Add to that of us nit getting Belly's inner POV and it's such a nothing burger. The only good content was Conrad's POV episode and again Conrad was doing the heavy lifting again. 

I think the makers are jelly shippers. They're are making it up by giving Gavin a lot of screen time, more than necessary & Conrad is a side character atp. They are giving us bonrad but it doesn't feel sweet. They've managed to take away the excitement and thrill.

I would pick neither of them tbh, but if I had to choose, Conrad because I like people with direction.

If im being honest, If I was choosing I’d choose Conrad, but season 1 jeremiah up to the fireworks was really close in the race. Season 2 Jeremiah reminds me of season 1 Steven. Too insecure and that would eventually drive me insane. I love that Conrad is good looking but doesn’t know it that he is smart and athletic (a real plus for me cause I play alot of sports still), he’s caring and compassionate and tries to improve himself.

I like intellectual guys who have this quiet soft side to them. I love that Conrad remembers small things about her and what she likes. I love that he’s this closet nerd that collects stamps and had a chemistry set and has goals he wants to chase after. I like that he recognizes he can’t give Belly the love she needs at that time and walks away, making every effort to grow from the past. This to me shows a lot of maturity which is sexy. Conrad ultimately turns into major husband material in my opinion. Fixing up the summer house, making sure it’s stocked with food for he and Belly in book 3… going to her mom to try to convince Laurel to go to the shower after seeing how upset Belly was (with no agenda attached and not gaining anything for himself out of it)… writing her letters and putting the ball back in her court while making his feelings and intentions clear… Conrad all the way 🥲

You know, I’m not a big fan of Bonrads and talk a lot of shit, but this is actually a huge issue. To them, Belly is Conrad’s property. Because she had a crush on him, apparently she owes him her undying attention for the rest of her life? And Jeremiah’s feelings are never once taken into consideration, mostly because they can’t stand him simply for being another option for Belly.

Jeremiah knew that Conrad was content to continue dating Nicole after the concert thing. He decided to shoot his shot because he has HIS OWN feelings. They need to let my boy live, damn.

This is literally 99% of what bonrats argue about - Belly has no choice - Conrad had a claim over her because of some damn necklace that relates to a math concept he taught her when she was 10 or something

Jeremiah isn’t allowed to exist or breathe - he shouldn’t even be at the beach house because he’s not a main character and Susannah clearly isn’t his mother either, so he should just disappear and not be allowed to feel anything for anyone or even look at Belly.

Conrad can do or say whatever he wants because ‘infinity’ is the answer to everything- Belly has no right to make any decisions and should wait for Conrad to ‘show growth’ in s3 because only his POV is the correct one and everyone else’s feelings or opinions do not matter

I'm glad you feel this way also. It's the same with them saying Belly “cant” be with Jeremiah because she has been with Conrad. Conrad doesn't own Belly because they had sex. It's so gross people actually think that way.

It's so bizarrely colonial to act like Conrad was the first to almost set foot on an undiscovered land and claimed it for all the Conradians from Conradiland and now we have to have a war to see who gets to continue to occupy Belly, as though she is not the original inhabitant of her own personhood.

Edit: but then also, if you do buy that "logic," by their own metric he didn't get off the ship. No flag was planted. Belly was pretty clearly like, "Sir, why don't you settle here, build a township, this is a nice place to live" and he was like, "Nah, I am just going to sit here on the boat."

Thank you for saying this. I have had this same argument with the Bonrad’s and it exhausting the circles they talk in. Conrad does not have claim over Belly just because she had a crush on him as a preteen. It’s a very misogynistic way of thinking and takes away from the fact that Belly can make her own choice about who she wants to date. Waiting for Conrad to get his shit together is not her problem and it’s not Jeremiah problem either.

Belly stays in Paris, and ends up with a French guy. She becomes a sports physcologist. Conrad becomes a doctor, lives close to Cousins, and settles down.

Honestly all signs have pointed for it to be Conrad. I just think making it 4 years of belly and jerimiah together makes it really unrealistic that once belly and conrad end up together everything will be fine

Hot take: I refuse to accept any ending where Belly and Conrad don’t end up together. I don’t need a moral lesson, I need the hopelessly romantic ending we were promised in the books. Anything else from Jenny would be such a letdown

Personally I have qualms with the fact that she’s changed it so Belly slept with both brothers (in the book, no sex is what made Jeremiah’s betrayal cut so deep) and the sheer span of the Bellyjere relationship. I don’t really understand why she made it four years long - tbh Belly still being a teenager when they got engaged is a huge part of what made the outrage/frustration so compelling.

I do think because of these changes, Belly will have to be apart from them for atleast a few years for a happy Bonrad reunion to be plausible. We’re going to need both Belly and Jere undergo a ton of character growth, and I hope both of them are shown to finally take accountability.

In my dream scenario, Jeremiah does a lot of inner work and finally works out how he manipulated both Belly and Conrad to get what he wanted years ago. This (and him finding love with someone else) is the only way he could be supportive of them. Then maybe we get a Bonrad reunion at Laurel and John’s wedding?? That would be chefs kiss for me.

I think the biggest thing is what she tried to prove still backfired on her. Conrad still can’t tell belly why he loves her. Belly still doesn’t know why she loves him. Why would she frame it like belly’s asking Conrad these things bc he is the one she specifically has these concerns for and with. Then have her split second decision endgame hinge on just that (childhood/past Susannah influence) with a 3 yr old toddler pic of belly. Suddenly after all this growth she’s still that same little girl who felt unworthy of love back then but now she should let that little girl have love bc she can’t change and that boy who she once thought would never still loves her. “I choose you of my own free will.” Sounds corny and what someone would say if they had free will lol. But that wasn’t even shown not really bc she had it dependant on a freaking toddler pic and stupid bear with a misplaced Taylor song! Don’t forget infinity🙄

There is no way Conrad can be sure his feelings for Belly aren't tied up with Susannah. Him saying Susannah began talking about him marrying Belly when he was 6 only makes the argument stronger. For most of his life, during his formative years, he was told this is who his mother wants him to marry. Her subsequent death made that idea more significant, a way to honor her memory. He does try to follow her other plans for him (ex: college on the West Coast), so it makes sense he would want to follow through on this one too. This "connection" Susannah made between him and Belly is so ingrained in him that I don't think he can actually separate what is his own idea and what he was taught from early childhood. He would need some heavy therapy to unpack that and would need to be fully honest with his therapist.

And Belly was exactly right that they wouldn't have started dating that summer if Susannah hadn't been sick. Conrad would probably have still been with his high school girlfriend and would have been at football camp. It's likely that Belly would still have gotten together with Jere, and with no Conrad to interfere, they would have gotten serious more quickly, and one would hope that would have been the end of it for Bonrad 😭

I mean in a way this fits with Conrad parenting her. He wants to take care of her cuz Susannah- this is delusional but does Conrad see taking care of Belly as a way to make up for being gone when Susannah was dying? And the fact that Conrad made moves on her the summer that he knew was Susannah’s last and made moves on her when Susannah wanted him to take her to the Deb ball after he had already rejected her kinda affirms the narrative that Conrad went for Belly for Susannah’s wish fulfillment. I could be totally wrong about this tho. Also- invalidating Jelly was just plain writing BS. Jenny and the cast have said that Belly and Jere were truly in love with each other in a very special way. And if it wasn’t BS- Belly would need serious psychiatric help for using a human being like that for four years. 

it’s so dumb because she cant erase what she already wrote. jelly started their relationship in S1 before they knew about her cancer and conrad was the same one who said he only saw her as a kid until that summer😹 add in susannah being their biggest shipper and while she called jeremiah belly’s brother/best friend. plus conrad bringing her up when he picks belly up in S2.

I’m really not cooking anything. It’s been on our screens for 3 seasons. Even in this scene, Conrad never names what it is he loves/loved about Belly, even worse now that it’s been 5 years and he doesn’t know her anymore. Belly is still fulfilling her promise to Susannah that she feels indebted to and she’s regressing in order to fulfill that woman’s fantasies from beyond the grave.

This argument will never fit Belly and Jeremiah, no matter how hard Jenny tries, because Belly and Jeremiah hooked up that first summer and had brewing feelings without any knowledge of Susannah. More importantly, Susannah’s dream was never Belly and Jeremiah, it was Belly and Conrad. They didn’t date or love each other because of her and that will never be the case.

Jenny didn’t invalidate Belly and Jere at all, and won’t succeed no matter how hard she tries. This argument still applies to Bonrad and forever will—that’s why she gave them that scene in the finale.
