TL;DR Verizon offers discounts for multiple lines, but the specifics can vary based on the plan and eligibility for other discounts like military or teacher discounts.
Multi-Line Discounts
Verizon does offer discounts for multiple lines. The cost per line decreases as more lines are added to a plan. For example, adding family members to an Unlimited Ultimate plan can result in reduced costs per line [5:1]. Additionally, if you are already a FIOS customer, you may receive $10 off per line
[5:2].
Eligibility for Additional Discounts
Verizon provides additional discounts for certain groups such as teachers, military personnel, nurses, and first responders. These discounts can be applied on top of multi-line discounts, potentially reducing costs further [5:1]
[5:5]. However, it's important to verify whether these discounts stack, as some account-level discounts might replace existing ones
[4:1]
[4:5].
Prepaid Plans and Alternatives
While Verizon Prepaid plans do not offer traditional family discounts, they provide loyalty discounts instead [2:1]. Alternatives like Total by Verizon offer similar plans with potential discounts
[2:2]. Visible, Verizon's prepaid brand, also offers competitive pricing and coverage
[1:3].
Considerations for Switching
When considering switching to Verizon or adding lines, it’s advisable to contact customer service to understand how specific discounts apply and whether they stack [4:5]. It's also beneficial to explore options like Total Wireless, which uses Verizon's network and offers affordable plans
[5:3].
In summary, Verizon does offer family discounts, and combining them with other eligible discounts can lead to significant savings. However, understanding the specifics of how these discounts interact is crucial for maximizing benefits.
Are there any discounts my bill is so crazy 😭
Try Visible+. They have a promo $35/month and it's the same service and coverage as Verizon. Visible is Verizon's prepaid brand. You can get a referral for $20 off the first month.
How does this actually work? Do they also do home internet as well?
They don't have home internet but you can get discounts on home internet from Verizon. But the discounts only apply to new home internet accounts.
Give Verizon a call
It used to be 19% , jeez…I haven’t checked that in years
We use US Mobile and use the plan (I think Warp?) that uses Verizon towers. Way cheaper than any teacher discount.
trying to port into Verizon Prepaid

Is there a family (multi-line) discount available for verizon prepaid?
No, but Total by Verizon does. Total by Verizon plans are very similar to Verizon Prepaid
I am just curious but is Total By Verizon have the same network access priority as Verizon postpaid, like Visible+?
No. But Verizon Prepaid's flagship unlimited plan was just updated to have 50GB of priority data.
no
I suggest usmobile anyway.
No
There are for older plans and current data only plans, but not for current phone plans.
>Do I get a discount for having multiple lines with a Prepaid Family Account?
>Current prepaid plans
>- Phones on one of our current prepaid phone plans get multi-tier Loyalty Discounts instead of a multi-line discount.
>- Data-only devices on current prepaid data plans (on lines 2 – 10 of the Prepaid Family Account*) get a $30/month discount per line.
>Certain older prepaid monthly plans
>- Phone and data-only device lines (on lines 2 - 10 of the Prepaid Family Account*) will get a multi-line discount based on which plan they have:

Is there any Verizon Employee who is willing to provide me with their "Family & Friends" discount?
I already plan on getting the 1 Gb Home Internet, and am trying to get the best offer.
So far, i have the AutoPay+Paperless billing discount, and student discount. Really want to get the best price i can before actually completing my purchase since apparently people mentioned its only available/added at sign-up, and not after i have already bought the service.
If you have the student discount already, that is your one "larger" discount. If you apply for the Friends & Family one, it removes the student discount. I figured this out the hard way. Unfortunately Verizon seems to have figured out how to control how much discount you can get.
If the student discount is larger than the F&F discount, keep it. Otherwise be prepared to have the new discount replace the student discount.
Hi pros of Verizon,
I recently got the $20 per line discount trick by doing the port out request via app. I know I’m being greedy here, but can I enroll in the teacher discount to get additional $20 off my 5 lines?
I know many discounts do not stack and I’ve read the horrors of one discount wiping away a better discount that was already on the acct.
If I could get any confirmation or datapoints on these stacking would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
UPDATE: It stacked! I am getting 5 lines for $6 + tax/fees per line for a year!
Yes they stack. I have the teacher and $10 per line from port out.
Nice job. You said the price you are getting for a year though. Why did you say for a year? Is it going to expire after 1 year? I'm thinking about switching but want to see if the teacher discount is going to be as good as the one from ATT.
If your $20 off is account level then no it won't stack, if it's line level it will stack
If it stacks or not depends of the specific discount you have. "Loyalty discount" is an umbrella term for a bunch of different codes and recently a bunch of new ones were added. I would advise that you call customer service and ask them to check if your specific discount stacks.
From what I remember, if you register for employment discounts but they are not compatible for whatever reason, then they simply do not get applied.
If I'm not mistaken per line loyalty discounts stack with account level discounts.
But account level discounts do not stack.
I have a $10 loyalty discount per line for four lines. I have an account level loyalty discount of $20 for the lifetime of my account.
If I were to be eligible for the teacher's discount and have CS apply it, I lose my lifetime loyalty discount and it gets replaced by the teacher's discount.
So do you think if I simply enroll in the teacher discount via online, I should be fine to stack them? How. How can you tell what’s account level and line level?
I'm on Verizon (unlimited ultimate) and thinking about putting my parents on my plan..does Verizon offer a discount for having multiple lines?
If your parents don’t need Ultimate you could add them to your plan on Plus or Welcome. Assuming you do autopay for the discount, 3 lines would breakdown like this:
1 line on Ultimate $65 and 2 lines on Plus’s $55/each so $175 + tax. Or you could put them on Welcome for $40/each totaling $145 + tax. If you do not do autopay the cost of each line is $10 more so + $30/month.
If you or either of your parents are military / teacher /. Nurse / 1st responder you can get an additional $25/mo discount.
Edit to add: If you do all 3 lines on Ultimate it’s $65/each with autopay or $75/each without.
If you are already a FIOS customer you get $10 off per line.
If your parents already have a device, save them some money and get them total wireless. It’s owned by Verizon and uses the Verizon network.
When you byod the first line is $25 or $30 depending on the plan; and each additional line is $30. No activation fee or taxes or other fees. Totalwireless.com
Yes, the cost for each line will go down.
Find someone in your family who is a first responder, teacher, or military. Discount is even higher.
You might want to do it around Halloween that way you can scare yourself with the activation fees and any other fees during the month of fright
I know in the past you could not have unlimited everything and use your discount, but seeing as the new plans all have unlimited everything, can you still use your discount?
Unless it's Military or First responder, unfortunately not.
Thank you looks like I will have to take my cell service elsewhere. I am on a family plan because a family member can't afford their own plan and they accidently did something to make them almost out of all our data, we have 12GB and I can't afford verizon without the discount
Have said family member switch to Verizon prepay or have them pay their fair share of the data they used. Verizon also has family controls you can setup to limit data usage on other lines?
If they have an android phone, you can limit their data with their phone itself, or just add Verizon smart family for 5 dollars so you can control it. Better than the 15 dollar overages. Sorry about the situation you're in!
I have an iphone. I am trying to be as understanding as I can with Verizon and the reps but it makes it difficult for me to keep.
Why not upgrade to the 16gb or 24gb plan? What is the name of the plan you are currently on?
I’m looking for help finding the best deal on new cell phones and a family plan. My wife and I need:
We’d prefer service on Verizon’s network, but we’re open to other options if there’s a better value.
I'm wondering if bundling the phones in there gets a better deal from any providers.
Any ideas?
Total Wireless (runs on VZ) has brand new iP13 for free w/ number port and 3mo paid service ($165 total)
Phone will unlock in 60 days of service use so port out to another carrier before your 3mo ends -- 3mo service will take you to around Thanksgiving time so look for service promos then
Second this
Best to get plans from US Mobile or Visible at most $20/line. Then get a phone separately, you can get a used unlocked iPhone 14 from Swappa or BackMarket for $320 or an unlocked iPhone 13 for $265
What are people’s thoughts on Consumer Cellular? I am with A T & T and my bill for two lines is $194 per month?! Looking to reduce my bill to no more that $80 per month
ATT has a prepaid annual plan with 15gb per month for $300
The lowest cost would be with an annual plan instead of a monthly plan.
USMobile phone prices are not good. Visible has a preowned 13 for $278
I'd recommend either Visible or US Mobile (in your case a By the Gig plan because you don't use much data). With the new Inner Circle this should be possible to have two lines on one bill.
Neither has a senior discount but the prices are so reasonable to begin with you shouldn't need one.
I'd also recommend buying your new phones outright and factory unlocked. Easier to take to your new provider and easier to take with you should you not like them.
I would love to hear what military/veteran benefits you’re getting from your mobile carrier!
I’ve been with Verizon for 10+ years and although they’re generally one of the most expensive carriers, their service has been superb in my area and I feel they have some of the best military/veteran discounts, especially for families and entertainment subscriptions, so I stick with them.
If you have 4 lines and autopay with the discount their cheapest plan is $25/line and the most expensive plan is $50/line.
12% off any add on services & perks! And this is where I go to town on subscriptions:
THE BEST deal ever is their +Play credits, Pay $8.80 for $15 credit to spend on subscriptions. 4 lines = pay $35.20 for $60 credits. I use it for no ads Netflix, Max, Paramount, Peacock.
Apple One Family Subscription (6 people): $17.60/ month, regularly $26.95
Youtube TV: $73, regularly $82.99
And they have so many more subscriptions like Disney (a must in my family) and Hulu.
I do splurge on subscriptions but with my family stressful life and my SCDs, these are definitely necessary to bring whatever little joy I get 😅
Xfinity mobile offer one line for free for 24 months, if you have xfinity internet and one xfinity mobile phone service line. One line is around 50 bucks and they also throw in one year of tv subscription, I don’t watch anything on tv. See link below; https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/military-service-offers
This gets mentioned on occasion, but probably not nearly enough:
Not a direct discount, but more of a rebate. Not sure how they determine how much each year, but I think the amount they sent me last year was $180.
Anyone have experience with Spectrum mobile?
They’re supposedly using Verizon towers and seem to offer comparable service. They keep sending me stuff to sign up since I use them for home Internet. They appear to me as one of the second tier companies for cell phones right there with boost, cricket etc.
I use them for internet also. Do you know anyone using them?
I use Spectrum for everything in my house and my sale bill is $39.99 a month unlimited everything. But I don’t use any type of veterans discount. That’s just an every day bill right there.
You just talked me into +play so that's cool lol
AT&T has 25% off for Vets. If you go through AAFES (shopmyexchange.com), you can get 25% off Disney+ (includes Hulu, ESPN+).
Recently, I took advantage of the promotions on Black Friday, and I upgraded the Pixel 3 from a fully paid iPhone 6 with their 16.66 per month for 2 year promotion.
I was going through the order summary, and I noticed that the Cell Line Access fee is $40, which is regular fee for the discounted devices. I am currently part of a family plan with four lines, and our cell access fee is at $15 per month per phone. Even though it is listed on the order summary as $40, will we still get the $15 per month, or does it take a few billing cycles for this to kick in? And will we get this as credit?
Edit: I think this is the Month2Month discount I'm referring too?
That'll show up as normal. You won't have to wait to see that discount.
I have long been on my family Verizon plan, however I am paying my parents $86 monthly and feel I can get a better deal/price elsewhere. My pops said go for it, it won't affect their current billing price.
I wanted to know the smartest way to go about this. Are there any competitors of Verizon currently offering great deals (any specific deals for Jan 2023 too) to make the switch?
I live in Brooklyn if that matters for taking into account coverage maps.
Visible has unlimited everything for $12/month on Verizon.
That plan has serious deprioritization. The plus plan is the way to go.
Yeah if he's coming off Verizon postpaid he'll probably want the plus plan.
Another good Verizon mvno is US mobile provided you have a 5g phone.
I just switched from VZ to Visible a couple of days ago. They have a promo that I THINK is still running. '15OFF12' takes $15 off your monthly bill for a year. So I'm getting Visible+, which is essentially the same unlimited plan I had with VZ, for $30/mo for a year.
I've had zero issues so far, and switching was easy. I've seen people say they've had issues with Visible, but we'll see. So far there's no difference for me from my old plan, other than it being waaay cheaper.
Do you owe money on a phone? T-Mobile for one month and then wherever you want if you do.
Do you have 5G Start or a higher tiered unlimited plan with Verizon?
If you're on 5G Start, then I would recommend trying the base Visible plan for just $15/month for a year, then it's $30/month with taxes and fees all included.
If you're on a higher tiered plan with prioritized data, then Visible+ is nice for $30/month for a year, then $45/month
The reduced price requires promo code 15OFF12.
does Verizon have family discounts
Key Considerations for Verizon Family Discounts:
Multi-Line Discounts: Verizon offers discounts when you add multiple lines to your account. The more lines you add, the more you can save. Typically, you can save $10 per line for the second line and more for additional lines.
Family Plans: Verizon has specific family plans that bundle services together, which can be more cost-effective than individual plans. These plans often include shared data allowances.
Promotions: Keep an eye out for promotional offers that Verizon may run, which can provide additional savings for families, such as discounts on devices or service fees.
Loyalty Discounts: Existing customers may qualify for loyalty discounts or special offers when adding new lines or switching plans.
Eligibility: Check the eligibility requirements for discounts, as they may vary based on the type of plan or the number of lines.
Recommendation: If you have multiple family members who need service, consider switching to a family plan with Verizon. It can lead to significant savings compared to individual plans. Always compare the total cost of family plans versus individual plans to find the best deal for your needs.
