TL;DR Use Windows Key + Shift + S
for manual selection or Windows Key + Print Screen
for full screen capture saved automatically.
Using Keyboard Shortcuts
For Lenovo laptops running Windows, there are several keyboard shortcuts available for taking screenshots:
Windows Key + Shift + S: This shortcut opens the Snip & Sketch tool, allowing you to select a portion of the screen to capture. The screenshot is copied to the clipboard, and you can paste it into an application like Paint or Word [1:1],
[2:5],
[3:1].
Windows Key + Print Screen: This captures the entire screen and automatically saves the image as a JPEG file in the "Screenshots" folder within your "Pictures" directory [2:2],
[3:6].
Print Screen Button: Pressing this button alone copies the entire screen to the clipboard. You need to paste it into an application like Paint to save it [2:2],
[3:5].
Alternative Tools
If the built-in options aren't meeting your needs, consider using third-party applications like Lightshot or ShareX. These tools offer more flexibility and features such as direct saving, annotation, and custom shortcuts [1:3],
[2:4].
Clipboard Management
For those who find manually saving screenshots cumbersome, enabling clipboard history can be helpful. This feature allows you to view and manage multiple clipboard items, including screenshots, by pressing Windows Key + V
[3:8].
Troubleshooting
If standard shortcuts don't work, ensure that your system settings allow for these functions. Sometimes, function keys (Fn
) may need to be used in combination with other keys, depending on your laptop's configuration [4:1]. Additionally, checking online resources or consulting Lenovo support may provide further assistance

I have the Lenovo yoga 9i and how the heck do you take a pic?? I want to take a picture of my game but it keeps going to my wallpaper Home Screen…I hate it so much it’s very annoying
Windows Key + Shift + S or print screen key
Thank you omg!!!
i can take the screenshot but where can i find where it goes? i checked my files theres nothing there.
Download lightshot. Really good alternative.
Literally none of this works. I want to completely bypass the stupid snipping tool. I just want to press a button (or combo of keys) and just get a screenshot. A PNG. No damn copy paste bs
I did figure it out and one of them does work :( keep trying, it’s such an annoying struggle and idk why they won’t do anything about it
Windows key + shift + s
Google search?
i have a x260
Print-screen button will copy your screen to clipboard (paste to ms-paint or something to use it)
Alt + print screen will copy your selected window to clipboard
Windows key + print screen will make a jpeg from your entire screen in your pictures/screenshots folder (no need to paste anything)
Windows key + shift + S will give you an option to select any part of your screen, your selection will be copied to your clipboard
Some of these options (especially that last one) will not work on old versions of windows 10.
i dont have print screen button like the other laptops but the last option works pretty well so thank you!
PrtSc next to right control
I use a good program called ShareX it remaps printscreen as screenshot but it can be changed to anything
Windows key + Shift +S if it's running Windows 10
Yes.
windows + shift + s
Then select the area you want to screenshot, and paste the screenshot somewhere (to save it).
I do it this way too, is there a way that windows itself saves the screenshot in a designated folder? Like how it is in smartphones? It’s a bit annoying to manually save the screenshots, especially if you are capturing multiple screenshots
I don't think there is an option do that yet, but you can turn on clipboard history and then save all screenshots later.
settings -> system -> clipboard -> turn on clipboard history
You can then use windows + v to view the images and paste them.
I kept seeing the message the snipping tool was going away and I never saw what it was being replaced with. Thank you for this.
This is the best way, IMO
On Windows use the snipping tool On Mac... CMD+Option+3 or CMD+Option+4
Snipping tool
Print screen button
This puts it on the clipboard, then you gave to paste it into something like paint.
Windows key + Print screen

Shift + Windows+ S .. next time use google
What happened to chatgpt,Google?
windows + prtscr
I kid you not I accidentally screenshoted something while playing a game and I can't figure out how I did it... It gave the little screenshot notification in the corner of the screen with the image... Online isn't much of help... Has anyone here know of this gifted knowledge?
At any time hold down the legion space button and left bumper at the same time and it will show you a shortcut list on the screen, the screenshot shortcut should be listed as well 👍🏻

Thought some People might need this Guide.
I already know this, dummy. You just point your phone at the screen and take a shot.
No, no, no. You first tilt the phone at an odd angle, then make sure it is as unfocused as possible before you take the picture, then add a blur filter, and only then you can think about posting it here.
Hello brother.
(Unfortunatelly) you have no power in here [insert meme here]
What's next, explaining how search function is used?!
We also need to teach people how to search "fat neut bb" so that people stop asking about it each day
...on how to do a Screenshot.
The first one just copies the pic as far as I know. So you have to paste it in a folder to actually save it.
(Learned it after screenshoting a book for 2 hours...)
Is it saved as a file? Do I need a special app to view the picture? Which directory is it stored in? I don't even have a PC, can you do one for Steam deck? In return I will send you the directions to a third world country where the quality of a screenshot is the least of their concerns. This is a 1st world problem, get over it.
its saved in your Temp pastebin, access it with win+v
Actually, it should open the "crop & annotation???" (not sure about the English name for the app) which lets you choose between fullscreen screenshot or manually capturing the desired frame. If that shortcut automatically gets you the standard fullscreen, you might need to check your settings
You could physically be there pressing the keys and they will just ignore the file and take a pic from their phone.
My favorite excuse I heard from some one at their computer taking a picture of their monitor to post on Reddit was...
...
Hold on to your pants...
Was because it was easier to post from their phone because they didn't feel like logging into reddit on their computer. Yes. That was why they took a photo instead of screenshotting, opening their web browser, then posting.
They be taking the pics with flashlight on purpose.
I'm gonna always take pictures with my phone 🤣
Genuinely the worst sub for this I've ever seen, it's absurd. More than half of the pictures posted here are actual photographs.
r/Bannerlord is a far worse. Photos used to be strictly forbidden but it's like 50% of posts so they had to mellow their own rule about it. Now it's just pictures have to be legible and show some care. That rule is still not actually enforced.
For a while Project Zomboid was just a competition to make the worst screen photos possible lmao
mfs whipping out the polaroid and shit

how to screenshot on Lenovo laptop
Here are the methods to take a screenshot on a Lenovo laptop:
Using the Print Screen Key:
PrtSc
(Print Screen) to capture the entire screen. This copies the screenshot to your clipboard. You can paste it into an image editor (like Paint) or a document using Ctrl + V
.Alt + PrtSc
to capture only the active window. Again, paste it using Ctrl + V
.Using Windows Snipping Tool:
Using Snip & Sketch:
Windows + Shift + S
. This will dim the screen and open a small toolbar at the top.Using Windows Game Bar:
Windows + G
to open the Game Bar.Windows + Alt + PrtSc
to take a screenshot of the current window.Recommendation: For quick screenshots, using Windows + Shift + S
is often the most efficient method as it allows for easy selection of the area you want to capture. If you need to annotate or edit, Snip & Sketch is a great tool to use.
