Common Key Combinations for Screenshots
One of the first steps in troubleshooting screenshot issues is to ensure that you are using the correct key combinations. For Windows laptops, including Lenovo, the common shortcuts include Windows + PrtScn
and Fn + Windows + PrtScn
. If these do not work, try using Shift + Windows + S
, which opens the Snipping Tool, allowing you to select a portion of the screen to capture [5:1]
[5:2]
[5:3].
Software and Driver Issues
If the key combinations are correct but screenshots still aren't working, there may be software or driver issues. It's important to ensure that your graphics drivers are up-to-date, as outdated drivers can cause various display and screenshot problems [3:6]. Additionally, check if any recent Windows updates have affected your system settings or drivers, as this can sometimes lead to functionality issues
[3:7].
Hardware Considerations
While hardware issues are less likely to affect screenshot capabilities directly, they can influence overall system performance. If you experience graphical glitches that appear in screenshots, the problem is likely with your PC's graphics card or software rendering rather than the monitor [4:1]
[4:2]. In such cases, consider checking the integrity of your graphics card and ensuring all connections are secure.
Utilizing Built-in Tools
For users who struggle with keyboard shortcuts, utilizing built-in tools like the Snipping Tool or Snip & Sketch can be an effective alternative. These tools provide more flexibility in capturing specific areas of the screen and are accessible via the Start menu or by using Shift + Windows + S
[5:2].
General Tips
If none of these solutions work, consider restarting your laptop, as a simple reboot can resolve many minor software glitches [3:11]. Additionally, consulting Lenovo's support resources or forums can provide model-specific advice and solutions tailored to your device.
All the razer software suck so bad
Absolutely agree
OOP probably added the hand gesture for added comedic effect, which cannot be captured in a screenshot.
One day, I am watching movie on a website. The laptop suddenly lags and then the green screen appears. After that, I force shut down by holding power button. When I power it back on, the desktop screen has wierd icon size and I cannot adjust the brightness. I have fixed it by reinstalling the graphic driver. Why am I having this problem?
How were you able to reinstall the graphics driver if there was no display? Did you connect it to an external monitor?
I think gpu problem
Nice dwarf fortress mod bro
Mans stuck in a leaf block
What igpu does it have? Windows likes to mess with the drivers whenever it has a update. You'll can change it in the settings
Was watching YouTube and just closed the screen, a minute later opened the screen and it started to flicker/glitch till i restarted it.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Mux switch on later models are intended to address this. This seems to be an issue with integrated graphics. Are you by chance switching from plug to battery power when this happens?
Damn what the heck. I’ve been seeing a lot of ppl with this issue recently
Yeah, suddenly a lot are popping up.
Hopefully it's not a fundamental problem like msi's hinge problem.
Does msi have hinge problems that does flickering to the screen?
Maybe windows update
I’ve been lurking this sub waiting for the answer to this mystery
I think this is either software or hardware issue
software: update all display drivers igpu, dgpu and monitor also reset display driver settings to defaults.
hardware: maybe the display port cable in the lcd is damage or the connector of display is not proper. If this happens while in you integrated graphics then i suspect the RAM is faulty as igpu uses ram so try to swap the ram modules and test if the issue goes away. One of the ram module might be faulty.
also, try to cmos reset then update bios to latest availble for your device and be patient while update screen may go blank for some time just wait till laptop reboots.
"I think this is either software or hardware issue"
No shit, Sherlock.
I'm on the lastest updates on drivers (igpu, dgpu and even bios), although the flickering happened when i switch modes to igpu only and then switched back to hybrid-auto. Do you have any recommendations for a 16GB ram that can be better than the ones Lenovo provides?
these are premium options:-
these are the budget options:
So, pick as per your budget and upgrade to 32GB and make sure they are dual ranked x8 modules.
that sometimes happens when i use my laptop mobile, just shut the lid, drive home, plug it in, open the lid and bang, disco. restart helps tho.
File for return
Hey guys dumb question that I think I know the answer to but I wanted to be sure. I'm getting these weird graphical glitches showing up just when playing videos (either streaming or downloaded) after getting this new pc & monitor last week.
The glitches show up in screenshots, so the monitor should have nothing to do with them, right?
These are just straight up photos of my PC from when I first noticed it, but if anyone is curious this is what the glitch looks like
Correct, if it's in the screenshot, it's not the monitor.
Thank you! Luckily I can still return this one, so hopefully the replacement will work without any issues (Lenovo legion T5 gen 8 if curious)

Yes, if a glitch or artifact appears in a screenshot, the issue is likely due to your PC, specifically the graphics card or the software rendering the image, rather than the monitor. Screenshots capture exactly what the PC is processing and displaying, so any visual anomalies in the screenshot indicate problems on the PC side. If the monitor were the issue, you wouldn't see the glitch in the screenshot.
which sounds about right to me, just leaving this up in case anyone else wants to comment.
ive tried windos+prtsc it doesnt work
also tried fn +window+prtsc
help
You can use the snipping tool
Shift + Windows+ S .. next time use google
What happened to chatgpt,Google?
windows + prtscr
I can't do Shift+Cntrl+Windows cuz it just switches to another window and when I click F10 nothing happens. What do I need to do?
You can print screen and paste it somewhere
Hi! Understand that most of the time camera issues are easily fixed, but I am at a lost for this. I have reinstalled the latest Lenovo camera drivers from their official website, reset the app and my computer.
Whenever I google for errors, the resources online show the camera with the line drawn through it but mine appears to be a different icon. I have a small, slid able camera shutter on it but I have made sure that it is not obstructing the camera, and even so if it was it should just show a black screen.
There are no errors being thrown by the software as well, in fact the picture above is what I get what I press the shutter button in the native Camera app. Really curious and at a lost, since I need the camera to attend Zoom classes.
Any input will be greatly appreciated thank you!
UPDATE: SMOOTH BRAIN MOMENT
So lenovo has its own camera shutter thing above the camera...it looks like a notch that once you slide it it will resolve this issue. Am a waste of space, hope this helps someone!
Nah your good At least you didn’t say my webcam is not working when there isn’t one on your laptop.
We got this support call all the time when they first started using a built in shutter. So don’t beat yourself up too much ;)
Whoever designed the webcam portion of your notebook should just put "Try sliding the camera shutter or reinstall your camera drivers if you see this."
You're no waste of space, definitely a funny tech support moment though. I've done the same with my laptop but for my mic
Merciiii ! J'avais un cours en visio, je pétais les plombs je comprenais plus 😅
Omg i've been battling with this for over a month now! Thank you so much!
You just SAVED me such a hassle!!!!! I have been having Zoom meetings from my phone haahahah!
DUDE. TYSM!!!! My camera’s been like this for MONTHS and I was so lost on what to do like you had explained, but the built in slider??? I don’t know how I never noticed it either 😭, again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Why is the is happening
Reading your comment gave me a stroke… Jesus…
Yeah, it's so hard to read the original text right in front of your face to realize it was a joke
any updates op? hope everything is fine
The Lenovo custom support is no help. I bought the laptop in Germany but I live in another country and they refuse to recognize my warranty. I tried to return it and they said that it's not possible because I used a forwarding service who send me the laptop. 🙄
Well I don't see any cracks in the lcd panel. But best thing to do is to get a standalone monitor and plug it in to the laptop. If the picture is bad to the external monitor too, then it's probably a gpu problem. If the picture to the external monitor is fine, it's probably an lcd problem.
my guess would be a bad cable or liquid that ran down the lower part of the screen and created shorts
Yeah, I think too that the cable is the problem. Don't know if I should try to fix it, I don't wanna lose my warranty.
Let the warranty take care of it
I don't wanna lose my warranty.
So the best thing to do, even before posting a post here, is to contact Lenovo Support.
Loose LCD cable, either on the mobo end, or on the LCD end...or your LCD just called it quits and had a partial failure. Not really much you can do - call support on this one.
sounds dumb but you can try giving a hit and sometimes it fixes the problem
Ngl my first method always. 90% of the time that fixes it
I tried it, no results :/
I would say it’s probably an lcd fault. It bears a passing resemblance to the Surface Pro 4 flickergate issue. Hook it up to an external monitor and see if it persists there
Could be an easy fix software issue. Or worse. Screen or GPU on the verge of death. Maybe a connector is loose in the gpu or screen. But dont get your hopes up. I would go to a repair centre if i were you or return the model.
Thanks for the reply. Could you maybe help me with fixing the issue software wise? I'm currently not in a place where repair centres would be.
Update BIOS drivers updates, update Cpu and Gpu drivers updates. If its nvidia, you can use nvidia control panel. Download windows updates. These 4 are the most important. You can try them to see if it fixes your issues.
this is what happens when you intall tiktok on you pc
or the Windows 11 meme
Your screen is currently updating to 3D TV technology. Don't worry, it'll pass and you'll have a 3D capable laptop when it's done.
He would have to turn his head sideways for that 3d to work.
that seems like gpu or the cable
