TL;DR To set up KakaoTalk on a new phone, ensure you have your account credentials ready. You can restore chat history if you have backed it up previously.
Backup and Restore Chat History
Before setting up KakaoTalk on your new phone, it's crucial to back up your chat history on your old device. This can be done through the app's settings under "Chat Backup." Ensure that your backup is complete before switching devices. Once you have your new phone, download KakaoTalk from the app store, log in with your existing account, and follow the prompts to restore your chat history from the backup.
Account Credentials
Make sure you have your KakaoTalk account credentials handy. You'll need your registered phone number or email address and password to log into the app on your new device. If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" feature to reset it before transferring to your new phone.
Verification Process
KakaoTalk may require you to verify your identity when logging in from a new device. This typically involves receiving a verification code via SMS or email. Ensure that you have access to the registered phone number or email address to complete this step smoothly.
Reinstall and Update
After transferring to your new phone, check for any updates available for KakaoTalk in the app store. Keeping the app updated ensures you have the latest features and security patches. Reinstalling the app on your new device might also resolve any issues encountered during the transfer process.
Additional Tips
They make a JP/KR/CN server yet? If not still a no go for a huge audience.
Is it fun for a casual player? I'm in the mood for an MMO and I've been thinking of New World or Guild Wars 2.
I think both games are fairly fun. Story is probably "meh" in both games. Nothing ground breaking. Some bad parts here and there, some good. Both have lots of content. It will honestly come down to the aesthetic, theme, and overall combat design in my opinion. So I would take a look at that to decide. Gw2 also has a free to play mode if you want to try it.
looks at username
Oh, are you a Guild Wars fan? I would not have guessed, lol.
I'd say it's especially fun for a casual player!
I've been off and on for GW2 for years. I'm on it now and it's just super fun to me. Story is meh, but the world and the combat is just endless fun.
I know this game has its issues, but in a sense I'm glad it's still trucking along. I have no clue how it makes money, given that it's owners are quick to shut down unprofitable projects, but I should give this a proper chance one day.
My somewhat tinfoil hat theory is AGS is using New World as a play test/design space for their Lord of the rings MMO.
They cancelled that recently due to a business dispute with another company.
I'd be so into NW's aesthetic and world, if not every server would come down to a single guild dominating everything after a week, killing it's PvP-Sandbox right away.
I played for the first couple weeks after launch and realized PvP would be its downfall. Any game that designs and enforces PvP as a core game mechanic inevitably snowballs servers into a single guild since no one wants to lose.
Its fun for a casual player. Just make sure if you're playing on console to join a crossplay server because just about all console only servers are dead.
Hi a few questions I am new to thid whole thing:
Has anyone used the Bruder microwave mask? How long to see results. How long do u massage your eyelids after the 10 min heat? Do you massage lower lids also?
And how is everyone cleaning their eyelashes? Do you still wear makeup?
Bruder mask is very good. I recommend it to my patients.
My doctor too;). Ty I will get one.
I will also look on Amazon, I bought a mask that cost me about 20 dollars on Alié Express
I would suggest you review this in the Treatment Options section:
13 Home and Over-The-Counter Treatment Options:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Dryeyes/wiki/home_otc_treatments/
Also these on the eyelid massage issue:

Lovely ty;)
My pleasure...you might also want to review the FAQs when you get a chance:
FAQs For You
https://www.reddit.com/r/Dryeyes/wiki/faq/
I use a Bruder eye mask daily for 10 minutes (give or take. I use the same time to do the Daily Calm meditation). Then I massage my eyelids.
Here's the thing, I never really notice a difference when using it. It's no miracle cure. But like when I go on vacation and fall out of my routine and don't use it regularly, I can tell the difference then, because my eyes start to feel drier and grittier. So it's really hard to say how long it took to see results. I probably would've said never. But because I've been through times when I don't use it, that's when I can tell that it helps.
Hope that makes sense.
Ty it does make sense;)
I use only eyeliner and mascara when my eyes are behaving. If they are in a flare I don’t wear any eye makeup so I can put drops in as many times a day as needed
I have a plug in eye hearted eye mask I got for about $20 on Amazon
Thanks that is helpful;)
Hello.
I currently sign in to windows with a password at home. I would not like to have to change to a pin to begin making passkeys. I don't have a fingerprint scanner.
Do I need to do this?
Thanks.
Just press escape
Okay so when I have the option to create a passkey, I can enroll in Windows Hello, or do it from my phone.
What is the safer option?
No, plug your key to your Windows machine, then enroll your Google account via web browser.
When it asks for Windows Hello, press Escape on the keyboard. Windows will use your Yubikey instead.
Someone last week hit this problem and it was discussed in a previous post.
It is GOOGLE, not your Yubikey that is forcing you to enroll a Windows Hello based passkey. Google changes this stuff all the time, but since google supports multiple passkeys (fairly well actually), the thinking is that Google's help desk costs will be lower if just everyone with a Windows Hello login is forced to have a Windows Hello passkey.
The original poster from the previous post had to copy and later paste a URL of a successful Yubikey registration to get past this screen. Other's suggested enrolling the Yubikeys on a non-Windows device.
https://www.reddit.com/r/yubikey/comments/1na7zrf/yubikey_and_google_configuration/
I got the same thing as you. I enroll in the PIN for the Window Hello and now it works on the Google with my Yubikey. Now for my Window log in, I use either PIN or Password.
This is really the worst part of passkeys, every app is absolutely chomping at the opportunity to be your passkey provider.
Windows, Chrome, Bitwarden, your work password manager.
Tell them all No, and just set up your Ubikey.
I was just wondering what you all do when you get a new iPhone as the 17PM will only be my second iPhone. I obviously set the first one up as new but now I have to make a choice.
I enjoy setting up a phone from new. It’s a great opportunity to ditch all the old stuff you’re not using regularly and explore all the menu settings with fresh eyes for your current life situation rather than just using what’s been there before.
Sounds like me.
I always transfer from old phone. I tried new one time for the fresh start but was quickly annoyed at having to add everything back
I have enough bloat from years of transferring that I see bugs that I don’t see in any other phones. Also, my restore tends to overheat the phone and gives horrendous battery life. Same device when used by another family member after a factory reset seems to perform way better. Seen this happening multiple times. So, this time around I am setting it up as new. It’s going to be painful, but definitely worth a shot.
I never transfer my data as I keep my old phones and imo I like starting fresh the only thing I find annoying is adding all the phone numbers again
I don’t upgrade often since smartphones came around, roughly every 5-6 years, but I set up from scratch particularly because it’s such a great opportunity to clear out phone numbers no longer needed. 😃
Transfer for sure! I have iCloud backup and the transfer is seamless. But even direct phone to phone transfer is so easy and quick
Thanks!
Yeah, I ordered my iPhone 17 Pro Max and hopefully will have it on the 19th. Tomorrow, September 14th I’ll be turning off “Public Beta Updates” on all my iOS devices. Once iOS 26 general release (Public) launches on Monday, I’ll install that version on all my devices and perform an iCloud backup. When I receive my iPhone 17 PM, I’ll restore my iPhone 14 PM to it from my iCloud backup.
Yeah, that's my plan except I already shut off PB. Once its updates to iOS 26 Public I will back up and then back up just before restoring my new iPhone on Friday.
I might be misunderstanding what you are asking, but if you move to the public release on Monday when it drops and do a backup once you’re on public release, you’ll have no problems!
I actually thought about that after posting. Thank you for confirming!! I hadn't had a chance to look up the public release since having that thought.
Hahaha no worries at all! My guess is that’s probably why they release the public version before the phones come out Friday for that reason!
So probably at what time will they release the public version of ios26 on Monday?
Yes
I like yours too! Looks great!
Looks just like my phone (when I first got it at least loll). My wallpaper is a video edit of Majima
Nice. No it's an Android 15 (I think).
Majima wallpaper kyodais, unite! 🙌
If you are new to the subreddit, please read the wiki
Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS.
If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged >!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!<
If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7).
If you see any of the above (or any of the other rules) not being followed, please report it so we can keep this place safe for newcomers and those that haven't finished all the games yet. Thank you!

no but they are some people who can confirm this. If you plan to do this let us know here please
No
Say it with me: EVERYTHING MUST BE BRAND NEW WHEN YOU HARD RESET. NO EXCEPTIONS
i changed phones and i can’t for the life of my log into my uni okta account on the new phone, i’ve tried all the instructions from okta themselves and none of them are making sense or working
any advice would really be appreciated 😭
phone IT, give them some ID info, student number, name, degree etc and ask them to reset your 2factor
Im pretty sure u have to go to IT so they can reset it for u, just bring ur student card as well for identification
damn.. now would be a good time to get a student card..
Oh maybe any identification works but i had mine so i used it but i say just go double check maybe they dont need anythin
Contact them online. I broke my old phone and couldn't transfer OKTA myself. Contacted MQ IT online and was seamless.
Phone IT is they are super quick and helpful. I did it a few days ago
I was able to do it over the phone but that was last year I think. Maybe try calling first to see if you can bypass the student card thing
I am trying to setup my Kakao Talk account but it seems I can not set up a usable account without a Korean SIM?
I used to have an account but it was deactivated because I didn't use it for over a year.
Is this really a restriction? How can I use Kakao with an international SIM?
Its been two weeks, how is it now?
Still doesn't work. Just tested again. Might be a problem.
Mine fixed itself after a couple of weeks, even though I emailed customer support. It’s pretty irritating. Hopefully it lifts soon for you!
Luckily I have a month before I visit!
I've found it takes anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks to resolve. It's an anti-spam measure.
yeah its weird. i noticed i got this last time i logged in. ive had my account for years.
Oh, I found this:

apparently, it will take several weeks :(
