TL;DR
Backing Up Your Chats
Before setting up WhatsApp on your new phone, it's essential to back up your chat history on your old device. You can do this by going to WhatsApp settings and selecting the option to back up your chats to Google Drive (for Android) or iCloud (for iOS). This ensures that all your message history is saved and ready to be restored on your new phone [5:1].
Using the Change Number Feature
If you are changing your phone number as well as your phone, use WhatsApp's "Change Number" feature on your old device before making any changes. This feature updates your account information to the new number while preserving your chat history. After you've changed the number, perform another backup so that the backup reflects the new number [5:1]
[5:2].
Restoring Your Chat History
Once you have backed up your chats and updated your number, install WhatsApp on your new phone. During the setup process, use the same Google Drive or iCloud account linked to your previous backups. The app will prompt you to restore your chat history from the backup. Make sure the phone number used for backing up and restoring is the same, as WhatsApp does not allow restoration of backups to a different number [5:1]
[5:3].
Local Backup Option
If you prefer not to use cloud services, you can also back up your WhatsApp chats to your phone’s internal storage or an SD card. When you set up WhatsApp on your new device, it will automatically search for and restore from that local backup if no Google Drive account is linked [5:4].
Troubleshooting Backup Issues
If you encounter issues with your backup not being recognized, ensure that you are using the correct Google account associated with your WhatsApp backup. Double-check your Google Drive settings to confirm that the backup exists. If problems persist, consider reaching out to WhatsApp support for further assistance [5:5].
So I am shadowbanned on the main dating apps (Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge) and I have spent the past few months getting pro photos done. I have also lost 25 lbs and gotten the best haircut and style for the photos.
I had some hope a month when Hinge unbanned me but they are petty with it so they unbanned me and I was shadowbanned well after the fact. Anyways, I decided to delete my Hinge account and account on all the apps.
I am getting a new phone this week with a new number but my current phone number, I use for so much shit like 2FA and all of that. I know this won't be an easy process and if I am not careful, I can get logged out of a lot of shit forever.
Has anyone handled a situation similar to this? If so, how?
Can I ask how you managed to get unbanned?
Do not wait dor perfection. Just go do it and youll be fine
We all have. Just follow the hard reset guide to the best of your ability and may the dating app gods be with you.
.
Sort of. You can set up an automation, when you get a message, and set the “message contains” as a space, then run immediately and trigger a blank workflow with the following. It may not catch all messages if they don’t contain a space.
Yeah, I did that, but I'm not sure how to only do it for one of my lines. Also I can't find out how to do it for messages outside of business hours (days and times settings)
Try triggering this shortcut vs the blank workflow: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/2ed07c1af69b411786f418acc6c5307b
I don’t have two SIMs/lines to test it out with, but it should work. You can adjust the phone number and hours as needed in the shortcut.
You could use the shortcut provided by the other guy, Andy, but you can add an if statement that says when the message is from on of your contacts to stop the shortcut
You need to make an automation on trigger SMS and message contains a space. Then choose blank automation and write shortcut like in video instruction. The only issue can be - I think that message will sends from default mobile plan. If it is you private, so your customers can see it. Try it. It is workaround but more complicated. If it is so let me know. I’ll send new instructions:)

Prior to your problems happening, did you have a 2FA Authenticator app setup on your old phone with Facebook as an entry?
If so: When you had first set up an Authenticator App, you would have been prompted by Facebook to save one-time backup codes (you are given ten of them). These codes can be saved to a notepad, password manager, or the cloud, etc. This is important in case you lose your phone, it gets stolen, you sell it, etc.
You use a backup code to log in to your Facebook account after you've lost access to your authenticator app. Once you're in, you can then go to your security settings and set up a new authenticator app on your new device.
You could be screwed if you don't have the backup codes and are stuck in a 2FA doom loop.

>"I tried submitting the video selfies for account recovery but that has not yielded any different progress.
Well, you at least got to this point. The video selfie is generally screened by automation, non-human. At least at the first stage. Did Facebook give you a notice of some sort indicating your selfie was declined?
Do not use your Wi-Fi network or your new account will be suspended
So I’ve had this issue where all of my business accounts were deleted and I can’t make any new accounts. I’m still thinking of taking them to court soon. However, I went and bought a Samsung prepaid and made an account on there for a long time it worked, but I got tired of using the cheap Samsung uploading and decided to log into that account on my other phone.. that account was immediately disabled. I had already appealed suspension on that account and with my prepaid phone number and now it’s asking me to put another number. I haven’t paid for my prepaid phone again, but if there’s just a likelihood that it’s going to be banned anyway & I won’t be able to use my new phone number for making a new account then I won’t even bother at this point. What do you guys think? Ever since my business pages got removed I’m struggling with money & legitimately right now deciding whether it’s worth it to use my last $30 to take the risk for this prepaid number or spend it on food.
If you're currently facing a ban and are looking for recovery methods, please refer to the stickied post on top of the subreddit or click here.

Nah, don't appeal using the new phone number for this new account. They will not accept the appeal and get you for trying to evade your previous suspension. The problem is that you've logged into the new account using the phone your old account was originally suspended on.
i'm really scared to change the number in my old phone since i really don't wanna lose my chats
Do not change your number on your old phone until you transfer your WhatsApp chats, first, back up your chats from the old number, then use WhatsApp’s Change Number feature within your old phone’s settings so your chat history will be kept and safely moved. After updating to the new number, install WhatsApp on your new phone with the same Google Drive or iCloud account and restore your chat backup when the app prompts you, ensuring you do not lose any message history.
I hope this helps.
Backup can be restored to the same number . It cannot be restored to a different number. WhatsApp says
If you’re changing phone numbers and want to keep your chat history, you must first change numbers on your old phone.
https://faq.whatsapp.com/1197347060992858/?cms_platform=android&locale=en_US
After doing this.. you need to back up so that the backup has the new number.
Then attempt restore with the backup
hey i tried doing this, but for some reason when it comes to the back up step it says that there's no backup affiliated to my google account even though when i check on my google drive, there is one. do u have any advice for this?
The backup will not be restored to a different number.
The phone number used for backing up and the one used for restoring must be the same.

Not sure why this sub can't get this detail right
Oh, you can back up your WhatsApp chats to your phone’s internal storage or SD card instead of Google Drive. When you set up WhatsApp on your new device, it will automatically search for and restore from that local backup if a Google Drive account isn’t linked.
How to backup to SD -> https://www.fonetool.com/app-management/backup-whatsapp-to-sd-card.html
thank you so much! i hope this works.
Also. Back up first.
Please can someone help. I bought a new android and I’m trying to sign up for WhatsApp on it. My old phone is an iPhone. It keeps coming up with an error message saying ‘this data is encrypted and locked’ and then shows my Google account and a link. Problem is Iv clicked on the link and can’t figure out the issue still. My WhatsApp data on iPhone has the encrypted messages toggle turned off. And Iv also backed up my WhatsApp data on iPhone. I just want to set up my new phone and it’s driving me crazy. The switch app transfer also doesn’t have WhatsApp on there so didn’t transfer. Help??
Thankyou for your help it’s appreciated!
Does this mean somebody's already trying to hijack my account?
It's a totally different 2fa security code then the one I used so I know it's not me.
Is it your 1st time using WhatsApp? Is it a new phone number that you've got-
Could be that someone is trying to get his whatsapp back online.
I am currently having an issue with my WhatsApp where it just does not load. I recently moved over to a new iPhone after my old one broke just to find that WhatsApp will not load and stays on a blank screen. The methods I have tried to get it to work are :
I have searched all over YouTube and cannot find any solutions to my issue. If anyone sees this has either dealt with this before or believes they have a solution that may work please let me know
I also have the same issue. Hope whatsapp will resolve this. Have you tried contacting whatsapp regarding this?
That would be related to the ongoing issue iPhone users are having. They are reporting on here black or white screen and not being able to login.
Has anyone found a solution to the problem?
No, people are still waiting on WhatsApp to fix it. There's nothing you can do to fix it.
any solution so far?
unfortunately no
Any update??
Just get good >:]

Just delete WhatsApp. Let the old back up go and set it up as a fresh account
Uninstall WhatsApp. Install new SIM. Install WhatsApp. Create a new account. Choose NO if WhatsApp offers to restore old backups.
You now have a new WhatsApp account with no chats. Your still have your old contacts' phone numbers, so they will still show up as your WhatsApp contacts.
But they don't have your new number, so you won't show up on their WhatsApp. They'll message your old WhatsApp number, but it'll always be left on one tick.
I recieved a message on my phone saying “your whatsapp account is being registered on a new device” along with an otp. I saw this meesage a few hours late. How can i check if everything is alright?
It seems someone tried to access your WhatsApp on a new device but needed an OTP to do it
DO NOT SHARE THE OTP WITH ANYONE
Okay. Thank you for helping
Checked linked devices. Someone can't log in without you giving them your OTP though
I checked the linked device but didnt see any unknown devices. Though i feel registering on a new device would be different from linked device. Thats why i felt a bit concerned
You can't only logged in one device at a time. If someone else had successfully logged in elsewhere, you'd have been logged out
Well what’s the status on your device. Whah kind of message was it
Whatsapp is completely normal on my device. The message was on my phone saying the account is being registered on a new device. I think it might be the message you recieve when you change your device and log into whatsapp
Send screenshot.. also check for linked devices
