Installation and Setup
To use KakaoTalk on your PC, you first need to download the application from the official KakaoTalk website. Once downloaded, install the app by following the on-screen instructions. After installation, log in using your KakaoTalk account credentials. If you don't have an account, you'll need to create one using a mobile device first, as KakaoTalk requires verification through a phone number [4].
Features and Customization
KakaoTalk on PC offers several customization options, including themes such as dark mode. You can choose between dark, light, or "follow device setting" options, and there are free themes available that provide a dark mode aesthetic [4:2]. This allows users to personalize their experience according to their preferences.
Common Issues and Solutions
Some users have reported issues with the KakaoTalk PC app, such as occasional crashes, lack of responsiveness, and problems with minimizing the app [4]. To mitigate some of these issues, you can block certain IPs by editing the host file on your PC, which may reduce unwanted pop-ups
[4:1]. Additionally, ensuring that your software is up-to-date can help improve stability.
Alternative Messaging Apps
While KakaoTalk is popular in Korea, other regions might prefer different messaging apps like LINE or WhatsApp [4:3]
[4:4]. It's worth considering these alternatives if you encounter persistent issues with KakaoTalk or if you're communicating with people in regions where other apps are more prevalent.
Community Support
For further assistance, consider joining online communities or forums related to KakaoTalk. Platforms like Discord can offer quicker responses and support from other users who might have faced similar issues [5:1]. Engaging with these communities can provide additional tips and tricks for optimizing your KakaoTalk experience on PC.

hello, I have a question, do we also need to have it to see the emoticons sent to us in kakaotalk? (I use it with a foreign number)
What do you mean "have it"? If you mean the emoticon, no, it will still show up on your Kakao. The only thing you can't use with a foreign number is to use hashtags, that's how it was earlier at least.
I downloaded it for fun, is there anyone else?
Most of us with Korean friends have it.
Constantly flakey, sometimes doesn't minimize, not very responsive, occasionally crashes - this is what you get when a country encourages anti-competitive practices and singular companies get to dominate an area of business.
What do you mean? I have a dark mode theme on my kakao right now.
Edit: I just went and looked, and there's a dark, light, "follow device setting," options, as well as several free themes (I don't pay for them) that are all dark mode esque, like "black"
PC, not mobile.
The only reason why they are so big now is that they were the first. When smartphones started coming out it was the only viable messenger in the Korean market, so they monopolized the market fairly easily. I saw it all real-time and this thing was even shittier back then than it is now, but it literally was the only option there was. Since Korean government don't really regulate monopoly, even the government came aboard and started offloading a lot of their job to the messenger (i.e., public announcement, certificates), further enforcing their position. The rest is history.
I remembered when they tried to hit south East Asian markets, I remember trying to get a free doll or smthn but they tried getting into Indonesia and was doing fairly well until line just started promoting like crazy, offering free stickers, idol collabs and just entering first and the rest is history, but people still flocked to whatsapp in the end lmao line’s dead
Isnt line the main messager people use in Japan?
Also, considering the fact that SMS messaging at the time wasn't free and you had to pay per message, a free messaging app was guaranteed to succeed. At the time, most people were using NateOn Messenger on the PC. Huge mistake by NateOn to not move fast enough to bring their client to smartphones.
Better than WhatsApp I guess
Almost every Korean App or online experience feels like a scam site. Zero UI, overcomplicated integrations, certificate galore and pop-up ads first. Absolute rubbish!
I like how the advertisement pops up before the app does.
You can get rid of most popups for potplayer and kakao talk by blocking some IPs on your pc by editing the host file.
Can you provide some more info on this? Would love to start blocking these pesky ads
What's wrong with the app, I've never had any issues?

there really wasn't a need to post this there is literally a post below you saying the preload is live
true true, but
#1: I'm just hella hyped
and #2: I didn't see it when i got on here lol
but hey, now there's more proof ;) I personally like seeing more than just a single post about it so I know something is legit, and providing screenshots helps with that, and I am sure there are some people that are the same :)
Interesting! How powerful is your PC and how smoothly does it run? I have been playing LN on Bluestacks since my phone stopped having enough storage and it's so laggy I'm always looking for an alternative.
I use bluestacks with an i5 processor and it only lags when I'm loading into the game. Not sure if that'll help you any
Processor: Intel core i5 2.40GHz RAM: 8GB Windows 10 Home. With 540Gb SSD.
It runs well, better than on my phone. I would suggest you give it a try. I also tried Bluestack and gave it up some time ago.
Thanks a lot! I'll give it a try!
I'm just curious, but does it make your computer fan run a lot? I've tried using Nox emulator but it caused to fan to run non stop even if that was the only thing running
ANY Android Emulator will be a huge tax on the laptopt/PC. Even the best rigs have issues with them - it's just how those things work, unfortunately. To make it make sense: an emulator launches entire system within your system.
As it has been said, it's taxing for your laptop to run an emulator. But I only found the fans running a lot at the launch of it, after my fans do not make much noise.
Ok cool. Thanks!
I literally use the exact same set up! Glad to know I'm not the only one :)) I usually like to make the screen take up the whole height of my PC screen!! The details are really nice on a bigger screen!
Literally nothing works when you try to fish with mouse and keyboard. Feels kinda bullshit to have to use a controller to play the game. Why would you even make the game on PC if you can't use mouse and keyboard? I'm just so sad I can't play this game. I was enjoying it even without clear direction.
In the settings you can change the control hints to mouse and keyboard and then you will be able to fish.
System -> Options -> Graphics Settings -> Icons(first option Default: Type B): KeyBoard + Mouse.
Edit: At first I got really frustrated with the control scheme that is used but as I'm getting used to it im getting over it. I am gonna say for used super attacks and complicated combos in combat will be tricky to pull off without remapping keybinds or using a high end gaming mouse with a side 1-12 pad.
Omg that’s hella life saver!
Thank you man this was a real lifesaver
Life saver couldn't play the game
Yeah I found that recently. Really stupid how it Just doesnt go automatically to M+KB.
You can fish? I have.
Bing Videos this is how you change controlls
Hello, my dad's favorite hobby is going onto a online karaoke website and singing with people online. His current setup is a bit old, he's running on an older laptop and asked me if I could build a PC so that he can karaoke on. I am a bit familiar with building PCs already but mainly for gaming. I have some older parts (i5-7600k and an MPG X570 mobo with 16gb ram) that I plan to use when building him a pc. Could anyone recommend me any extra parts that I should get to give him a better experience at karaoke?
Maybe a better recording microphone? Perhaps a sound card? He uses a mini mixer with a usb microphone.
Wait, there's an online karaoke website?! What's it called?
I still use a PC and an old Yamaha 12 channel USB mixer, its so easy nowadays, you just find the Karaoke track on YouTube and save it in a playlist so that you can build and perform from a setlist. Nowadays I use the Setlist App on iPad by Arlo Leach but i take YouTube files and convert it to mp3 and save the file on the PC. Then import into Setlist through itunes. The advantage of the setlist app is that it has the lyrics and you can change keys and speed as well as have the lyrics scroll past as you are singing. When you do everything through a YouTube playlist sometimes karaoke tracks get deleted. With them saved as mp3's they are always available and in time you dont need the lyrics anyway. Hope this helps!
If he's singing online karaoke/chatting then I think the best experience would be to get the fastest internet. A new PC doesn't necessarily mean better karaoke experience. Can you tell us more about what exactly he's complaining about with his current setup?
Not sure if the x570 is considered old plus that's for an AMD cpu so you'll have to choose which to use — CPU or MoBo. I'd say skip the sound card since Mobo's come with built-in audio pretty much as standard - that's more than adequate.
Probably best to invest on a really good quality webcam, a better mixer, a microphone, and a good pair of speakers (or even headphones).
- The webcam will ensure his friends will see him clearly- A better mixer that's also built-in FX and audio interface so he can pre-mix his vocals- The microphone will allow him to sound his best (assuming the sound quality doesn't get downgraded by the app/website)- and the speakers for obvious reasons..
Hope this helps! Good luck!
An audio interface that can handle a XLR microphone cable.
Hey Everyone,
I recently got comfyui up and running and have used some of their templates and added some Lora’s, checkpoints and vae’s to my layouts, but they still confuse me, and I struggle trying to identify what goes with what. For example, I wanted to do an img2video, I set SDXL as the checkpoint, some Loras, and then just got an image. I don’t understand how to make videos or what nodes help generate videos. I want to essentially, take an image of me for example, and include a Lora of like a warrior fighting (as and example) How would this work? Also, specifically if I want to make stuff including myself, should I train a Lora on several images of me? I want a “simple” plug and play method for img2video using some Lora’s… Can anyone make like a simple ascii way to show me how to link? Here is my idea and idk if its correct:
WAN checkpoint model - Lora model - kasampler model - ksampler latent - vae decoder- latent-latent image to ksampler
WAN Checkpoint clip - Lora clip- prompt positive prompt negative negative - contingent (i think its called that) - Positive Ksampler and negative ksampler
I hope this is making sense or if you can just give me a link to a img2video checkpoint that is pretty simple I’d appreciate it too.
I’m only 2 days into learning this and it’s racking my brain.
I have also watched several videos on YouTube which explain it well, but i think my biggest issue is finding the video checkpoints or models that are easy…. Any feedback would be appreciated.
You just need to think of it in a more structured way.
Let's assume the final product you want is a video of yourself in full armor with a sword charging into battle.
The first thing you need is the base image. This needs to include yourself in armor with a sword in some kind of battle stance. You also need to decide on what style it needs to be in. You're right that you need a lora of yourself, a style lora, concept lora of the armor and sword, and a checkpoint. txt2image will get this base image for you with proper prompting
Next you can use img2video with the base image you created. The loras for WAN will help with what ever motion you want your character doing, not changing the base image. WAN starts at the base image as the first frame and moves from there. IIRC wan uses natural language prompting so you need to be as specific as possible with what your character is going to be doing
Thanks so much for the response! I was 99% sure I would get some smart remarks, thank you.
I just remembered that if you want to get a base image quickly you can use CivitAI's FluxKontext generation. Just take a picture of yourself in a pose, upload it and start prompting things like "change clothes to warrior outfit, make background fantasy landscape, change style to X". If it can't do all 3 things at the same time do one image at a time daisy chaining it
