Major Award Shows
The major TV award shows, such as the Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards, are typically held annually. The Emmy Awards usually take place in September, celebrating achievements in television across various genres and formats. The Golden Globe Awards, which honor both film and television, are typically held in January. These events are significant for recognizing outstanding performances and productions in the television industry.
International Award Shows
In addition to the major American award shows, there are several international TV award events that might be of interest. The BAFTA Television Awards, held by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, celebrate the best in British television and are usually scheduled for May. Similarly, the International Emmy Awards recognize excellence in television produced outside of the United States and typically occur in November.
Specialized Award Shows
There are also specialized award shows focusing on specific genres or aspects of television. For instance, the Critics' Choice Television Awards, often held in June, focus on critical acclaim rather than popular vote. Additionally, the Peabody Awards, which honor stories that matter in electronic media, including television, radio, and online content, are typically announced in April.
Emerging Trends and OTT Platforms
With the rise of OTT platforms, there is an increasing number of awards dedicated to web series and streaming content. Events like the Streamy Awards, which celebrate the best in online video and creators, are gaining prominence. This reflects the growing importance of digital content in the television landscape.
Considerations Beyond the Discussions
While the discussions did not directly address upcoming TV award shows, it’s important to keep an eye on industry announcements and updates from official sources for precise dates and details regarding these events. Websites like Variety and Deadline often provide comprehensive coverage of award season schedules and nominations.

Someone tried posting a cropped version of this chart that cuts off all the important information on the top and bottom thirds for some reason. This is the complete version, including the website's methodology.
Is there a new Naruto show? why is it so popular now?
Naruto
Team Adventure Time here! Love that show!
In 1991, George was struck with a vivid idea of a boy witnessing a man's beheading and finding direwolves in the "summer snows". This idea was the impetus for him to begin writing ASOIAF. Although, his journey to that moment didn't start with him writing TV in Hollywood, it started 20 years prior with him writing science fiction short stories. Selected works by George before his time in TV:
But before George began writing the sequel, he got an offer from a producer who wanted to adapt The Armageddon Rag into a film. While that film adaptation was never made, he stayed in touch with the producer and when that person became the producer for the revival of The Twilight Zone, George was offered a job as a writer. And since working for TV paid a lot better than writing literature, he decided to move to Hollywood to seek a new career. He ended up primarily working on these three TV series:
I apologize for the delayed response. I first saw your comment while I was at work on Friday, but completely forgot to reply when I left work.
>He was the head writer and showrunner for beauty and the beast, not just any random writer.
The first part is simply not true. While it's true that George ended up well above the position of a basic staff writer, he was never the head writer or showrunner for Beauty and the Beast. Ron Koslow was the creator and showrunner, as George talks about here.
George also wasn't an executive producer, however he was promoted from executive story editor all the way up to co-executive producer by the show's end. He cites each title he held on Beauty and The Beast here:
>...my next staff job was BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. They brought me on as Executive Story Editor, one bump up from my TZ rank. Over the next three years, I climbed the ladder, rung by rung: Co-Producer, Producer, Co-Supervising Producer, Supervising Producer, Co-Executive Producer.
George was absolutely a major creative force on the show, but he did not have creative control. Koslow did (aside from the network). He was the primary creative force. George was still playing in his sandbox. George even said that a lot of his creative contribution to the show was with the secondary and tertiary characters (e.g. the people of the Underground).
I'm not sure where the idea of George being the showrunner came from, but I've seen it commented many times. Do you remember where you heard it from? My best guess is that it's the result of the online telephone game run amok to some degree.
And regarding Linda Hamilton's exit from the show.
>they killed that charecter off becuase the actress got pregnant,
This also is just not true. It was closer to the other way around. When Linda Hamilton got pregnant, she decided to leave the show, so Koslow and the writers decided to handle it by killing off her character. George talked about the decision they had to make after finding out that Hamilton was leaving.
>What can you tell me about the final season of the show and its cancellation?
Well, Linda Hamilton left the show. I think Linda was as surprised as anybody when the show got picked up. Everybody agreed it was a beautiful pilot but, as I said, they didn’t expect it to go. We were not a megahit but we were a pretty popular show. We were winning our time slot in the first season. But I think Linda wanted to get back to doing films, and she also wanted a child. I won’t go into all the legalities of contracts and things like that, but when the opportunity came to leave the show, she left the show.
Which puts you in a difficult situation.
We had a decision to make which was not of our choosing: We could either recast the part of Catherine Chandler with another actress; or we could write Catherine Chandler out of the show by killing her, which is what we chose to do; or we could come up with an alternative, like suddenly she had to move to Australia. We actually considered the moving to Australia thing, but that seemed like a feeble ending for a tragic love story. “I’m sorry. I said I’d love you for all time, but now I have a good job opportunity in Melbourne.” So that would not have worked. Our choice was really between recasting and death, and we chose death because that was inherently more dramatic.
Everything I know about GRRM's time on Beauty and the Beast was from redteamreview/Preston Jacob's podcasts and videos I listened to, where they reference how delusional George is flying out to hbo hq begging for 12-13 seasons of GoT and how he's been the same level of delusional as to how tv works. That behavior isn't far off from the 'spend all of season 3 mourning' story. What you have written sounds way more believable that the silly portrayal of George they often bring up lol
Don't forget And Seven Times Never Kill Man!, a novelette first published in the July 1975 issue of Analog Science Fiction and Fact and was nominated for the Hugo Award and Locus Award for Best Novelette.
Some would argue it's one of his best stories, and inspired a lot of the future content of ASOAIF (particularly the background of the conflict between the Children and Andals)
I didn't actually know if they were that good, I should check then out
Ya he was nominated for a Hugo 15 times before writing GoT. Hugos are the preeminent awards for sci-fi and fantasy literature.
Also 10 times, before writing GoT, for a Nebula, the other “big/major” awards for sci-fi and fantasy literature.
And 41 times, before writing GoT, for a Locus, which is a longstanding magazine subscriber voted award, which I’d say is more meaningful than modern fan voted awards if clearly less prestigious than critic awards, but gives a good idea at how Martin was viewed by the actual audience/public.
I highly recommend reading or listening on audible the book "Dreamsongs (Unabridged Selections) it goes over a lot of his short stories and has him himself talk about his timeline and the eras of his books and why he wrote what he wrote, what he was feeling.
Look it up, if you want George RR Martin content, your in for a whole universe of it. Good luck!
Why do you think he came all this way?
And let’s be honest, who has a better story?
who would have a better story?
In the books it is debatable, in the series? Literally anyone in that scene.
When you put it like that... hes never going to finish it 😭
literally anyone else in the series, both book and tv.

Indian web shows are in the declining era now! Tooo nepotistic casting…low effort writing and good shows are not renewed !!
It used to be great during its initial stages…now good shows on OTT are rare
In this also , some shows are example of cant make it engaging even for eight episodes.
I liked them all. Just started Mandala Murders & the pilot was good.
I liked bada naam karenge and gutur gu S1, mandala murders just loses it after initial episodes. Court kacheri is also decent.
Special squad 2???
One of the best things on that series I thought was that the most common Celebrity Guest was Betty White. Who was married to Allen Ludden at the time.
I agree, we all loved that as well. This show would have been even more popular if it was shown in the early evening, but they didn't see that.
Quite the power couple!
Super Password in the '80s was also very good. I liked Bert Convy as host. He always seemed like he was having a good time.
Perhaps fortified by some social lubricants.
That's Match Game.
The voice whispering the answer always cracked me up..
Love American Style and chicken soup
I always remember the Odd Couple episode when Oscar and Felix were on Password. Extra your old points if you remember the word Felix replied to the clue "Aristophanes". 🤔
So of note there is HBO's Looking which is an old series but its full blown gay. I just love it and have repeated it time and time again. I don't know why they only gave it one season!
Youngins is so beautiful 😍. South Africa 🇿🇦 is so ahead in terms of their film industry yoh.
Inxeba the Wound. Beautiful movie 🎬, it made me cry though 😢
Domina a historical period piece but that has a LGBTQ theme. Its an epic and it requires some patience but its beautiful especially the second season
The Righteous Gemstones 💎 Yoh guys that is a beautiful show and if you are a Christian i encourage you to watch it
Power Book Ghost. An old one but its one worth watching
Oh and everyone knows Game of Thrones and House of Dragon 🐉 i believe
There are so many other beautiful shows on Showmax but i wanted to highlight the gay ones
I wish we could get Showmax in the States. Would love access to that South African content.
Yeah you cannot natively access Showmax in the United States due to geo-restrictions based on licensing agreements. However, you can watch Showmax in the US by using a VPN service, which masks your IP address to appear as if you are in a region where Showmax is available. Coz Showmax is just $5 per month it would destroy US streaming business
Looking has 2 seasons. Watched all two seasons today, its a good one.
It only has one season on my Showmax with 8 Episodes. I will have to get the second season because I definitely wanna watch it. Where did you watch it from?
Watched it on Movie Box. There is a movie as well after season 2 to close the chapter.
I had forgotten Entangled guys
How much is the monthly subscription?
It starts as low as US$3. I took the US$5 option and the highest is US$7 which includes the Premier League. Im not interested in Sport which is why I took the $5 entertainment option
Saka inoita. Will try it out
I also love Showmax as well and I’ve watched everything on your list Today just finished watching The Institute on Showmax ( it’s a Thriller )
I looooooove The Righteous Gemstones 🥰❤️🔥 That show depicts a lot of what happens in Evangelical prosperity churches
I love all the South African shows. Entangled wow 🤩, Youngins yes 🙌, Inxeba 👏 Shaka illembe guys - that show is the bomb 💣
Where is Hudutsuz Sevda??
It got canceled. It’s rumor that they will be doing a spinoff.
Really?? I heard that it was renewed for a season 3 straight off, are you sure?
I want to weep when I remember what they did to that show. It had the potential to be legendary. Halil and Zeynep could have been a couple for the ages.
yup.. thats a bit disappointing
Aile Saadeti just ended, though.
Has it been completed or just cancelled?
I'm not sure. I just saw the 'Final' tag on the upcoming episode.
Gives me The Truman show vibes. Lol.
IDK if it did happen. And say like 20 or 30 years later. Steven Universe ends up as some retired actor similar to Bojack Horseman but with Pink Diamond powers. And his friends aka the (Crystal Gems) seen better days. Or despises Steven Universe in some plot driven narrative.
Which I think would be heckin interesting and I'd watch it.
TRUMAN SHOW! 🤣😭
I think TV-Y7
First of all we’re minimal screen time in my house, but our landlord dropped the bomb on us that someone wants to come tour the house that we’re currently renting so it’s a ton of organizing and extra cleaning that needs to get done before that planned visit. I’m the SAHP so I’m trying be to get a lot done for my spouse to not stress about as they get home from work.
So my kids (almost 4yo twins, 2 yo) will be getting more than enough screen time this week. One of my kids still have a bit of trouble recognizing some of the alphabets so looking for shows that geared more towards that, besides Sesame Street are there any other shows that focus on those? Just like how Number Blocks is geared towards counting.
Anything on PBS Kids is a great choice. A quick google search tells me that Super Why! does lots of literacy segments.
My 2 year old watches Super Why all the time! She loves it and has learned a lot from it.
I second PBS kids! My almost 3 year old has been obsessed with dinosaur train for well over a year now
Sesame Street, Molly from Denali, Alma's Way, Rosie's Rules, and Puffin Rock...
I know that Puffin Rock is not PBS... It's Netflix... But it's damn good...
How old? Super Why! Is great. My oldest is almost 5 and she is very into storybots on Netflix. I think it is probably too complex for a smaller kid, though.
Don’t discount stuff like Daniel Tiger for social emotional learning. I would agree with others that most of PBS kids stuff is really educational.
We watch a ton of Sesame Street & have even watched some throwback Mister Rogers Neighborhood and Reading Rainbow.
For toddler shows, r/Danieltigerconspiracy is THE resource for good programming. But fortunately for you I have distilled hours of my time reading the sub into this handy list:
PRIME
Daniel Tiger
Tumbleleaf
Thomas and Friends
Dinosaur Train
Mouse and Cookie
Stinky and Dirty
YOUTUBE
Little Bear
Caitie’s Classroom
Super Simple Songs
Sesame Street
Curious George
VeggieTales (Christian)
DISNEY
Bluey
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Mickey Mouse Mixed Up Adventures
NETFLIX
Octonauts
Puffin Rock
Trash Truck
Magic Schoolbus
I don’t know if any are alphabet focused specifically but lots of learning.
Honestly, Miss Rachel is a great program for that. My 2 year old knows the whole alphabet and the sounds all the letters make from watching that show (and reading together to reinforce).
There’s also Alphablocks and Colourblocks. They have some shows on YouTube.
Alphablocks is amazing! As is Numberblocks. A number of teacher friends really rate them and will even occasionally use them in the classroom
Exactly! I was an elementary teacher and they were great as filler activities.
such a beautiful dreamy goddess
Beautiful woman ❤️
Beautiful
Incroyable
So beautiful 🥵🥵😍😍
